We decided to try Melo's again, and wow, they have really improved over the last nine months! The polenta sticks were perfectly crispy and flavorful this time, and the onion dip was so cheesy and delicious. The focaccia bread was soft and fresh, and all of our entrées blew us away. Whatever they're doing, they should keep it up! The prices are also very reasonable. I'm excited to come back!

Just like Melo's Pizza but just slightly upscale. Good to get reservations as they get packed. Hosts are super friendly. Service is great! They have circle pizzas (more traditional) and square pizzas (thicker, deep dish). The pizzas come in one size only. Probably enough for 1-2 people. They also have pastas, small bites and salads. Decent cocktail menu with wine and beers. We ordered: Sunday Gravy: A very saucy spaghetti with all the meats (meatball, sausages, chunks of beef and pork. Flavorful. A bit too saucy for me. The spaghetti was al dente which I love. I wish this dish had more pasta to sop up all the "gravy." Combo Circle Pizza: One of our favorites from Melo's Burrata Margarita Square Pizza: Thick pizza on a bready crust. Too bready for me. But if you like deep dish, you'll probably like this one. Enjoyed the burnt cheese on the edges. Fun atmosphere. Family friendly. Loved the cute Italian store front with the Vespa. Cute.

My go-to order every time I come here: the Spicy Vodka Rigatoni and The Luca. They never disappoint! The portions are generous and perfect for sharing, which makes it even better when dining with friends. It gets pretty busy on Fridays and weekends, so I definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time!

Came in on a Friday evening and was told the wait would be about 20 minutes, though it ended up being closer to 45. Honestly, it's Friday night and we were a walk-in, so it was expected! They have a cute little market area with goodies to browse, which helped pass the time. The vibe is great, very inviting with cute decorations and the staff was incredibly friendly throughout the night. They have a solid menu with plenty of options. Most of the food was a bit on the saltier side for my taste, but the standout was definitely the homemade focaccia and Chicken Parmesan with Spicy Vodka Rigatoni. It was easily the best thing we ordered. I'll definitely be back to give them another shot and try a few other dishes!

always in the area and just now finding out about this place. I came in on a weekend for lunch. The interior is so cute. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The service was great. They have a mocktail menu with 3 drinks so that's a plus. I tried the the blood orange bellisima. The parm fries and luca pizza were really good. I also had the rigatoni and mushroom ravioli both were pretty good as well. For dessert not too many options as I dont like chocolate. I ended up getting the tiramisu it was actually olay for someone who isnt usually a fan.

So much good food here! Decent sized restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating (heat lamps and firepits) Parking on the streets or nearby parking garage. We all enjoyed our meals. Each dish was delicious and flavorful. They were all generous portioned. Unfortunately our server was not as attentive. We asked many times for her and for her to take our order. It also took them a while to light the heat lamps. Our food took a while to come out as well.

I had a reservation, but when we arrived on a busy Saturday night, we were asked to wait and that they'd come get us in 10-15 minutes. I know they were really really busy, but I had to go check on the table several times before we were finally seated. The place was absolutely packed and loud and busy, which is probably better for a large party than it is for a two person hang, where you're actually trying to be able to hear each other. We got a few drinks that were good, and then went through the overwhelmingly extensive menu and picked out a few things: *Toast with buratta - this was tasty, but also felt like it needed something more *Pescatore - this was tasty, but it also felt like quantity over quality. It was fine. *Pesto special - this was tasty and my favorite I'd come back, because the menu is pretty extensive and I'd like to try more things, but probably not on a super busy Saturday.

I've been wanting to come here for a while since I keep seeing it on my social media! I love Italian food and I love Walnut Creek so my boyfriend and I decided to celebrate our anniversary here! The ambiance is great! It's lively, it's not super loud, the decorations and aesthetic of the restaurant is so cute and vintage chic! I love that they have outdoor seating options as well! Perfect for those warm spring summer evenings or nights! The service was great! Our server was attentive, answered all of our questions and offered recommendations! We only needed to flag our server down for the check but beyond that everything was great! The restaurant is very clean. No sticky floors, dirty tables and the restrooms were spotless! The food was fantastic! I had the alfredo and my boyfriend ordered the penne bistecca. Everything was cooked perfectly, the cut of meat on my boyfriend's plate was so tender and the sauces of both pastas were absolutely delicious! The calamari was fried perfectly and the dipping sauces were also really good! I'd love to come again during their happy hour to try some more of their appetizers! I will be returning, we were very satisfied with our meal and afterwards if you feel full, you have a beautiful area to walk around and maybe do some shopping! I had a great experience and can't wait to try more!

Yummy yummy in our tummies , this food was sooo darn good ! I couldn't even finish my plate of pasta , it was very filling. Pasta was very flavorful (extra parm/red peppers on request, they will drizzle it for you) Became full and they packed our food in the boxes for us. Service was amazing ! Loved our waiter Maiyah ... she was super sweet / patient (my kids were ordering) Ambiance was adorable ! Plant lovers you would enjoy all the live plants sitting above the tables. 10/10 Parking is easy to find on the street or parking garage , for two hr street parking we paid $4. Download the app and pay for parking so you can track your time that is left on the meter. Parking enforcement was really heavy and proactive in this area.

Food is always delicious when I dine here. It's my go to spot for pasta, pizza, and occasionally a few drinks. Overall, it's a great place to sit down, relax, and celebrate special occasions with family or friends. The service is generally good as well, though it can vary depending on how busy they are. I always enjoy coming back.

We had lunch here today. Everything was delicious. We had the beet salad, carrots with pistachios and honey, and the calamari. It was all amazing!! Then we had the Mandilli Al Pesto and the Pescatora pasta. They were both delicious! Our server, James, was prompt, attentive, polite and helpful. We just returned from Italy two weeks ago and this was just as good as the food we had in Italy . We will definitely return and let our friends and family know about this wonderful restaurant!

Has dinner on Friday night- made an easy online reservation. Snagged an outdoor patio table- a little cool, but the patio heater kept us comfortable. Service was very good- my square potato pizza and chopped Italian salad were both tasty.

Got the vodka pasta and the ragu. Vodka sauce and noodles were cooked perfectly! Loved how quickly everything came out. The atmosphere is bright and lively- perfect for brunch.

Interior is interesting, it's like you're dining at someone's home? Street parking or there are lots nearby with the first hours or so free. Service was good  The Valentines prix consisted of an app, entree, and dessert, some of which are not on their regular menu!!  -bread and marinara (4/5): bread was great, thick slices and nice crust. Marinara was standard -potato-leek puree (4/5): came in a cute little cup to drink out of, good flavor -gamberoni (5/5): prawns were a good size and perfectly grilled. The sauce was a good addition -polette (4/5): meatballs were juicy and the pesto was flavorful and creamy. Interesting thing to have as an appetizer though -fettuccini carne (5/5): I always have an internal struggle about getting a red sauce or a cream sauce, so this was the perfect option as a creamy red sauce pasta. Serving size was good, and there was also plenty of meat and mushrooms, which I loved! Flavor was great! -lamp chop (4/5): good grilled flavor, but one was slightly too raw for our liking so we had to send it back to the kitchen to cook it some more. Our waitress was very understanding though! The mashed potatoes and veggies were also good. -tiramisu (3.5/5): good flavor, but there was wayyy more cream than ladyfinger, so the textural balance was off. And I love cream! -peanut butter chocolate brownie (4/5): really good but also pretty sweet. Loved how thick the whipped cream was, but didn't taste as much peanut butter as I would've liked Overall, I had a great experience for their valentines day prix menu. Food was great and I would definitely go back to try their pasta!

The cheesy garlic bread was dangerously good -- the kind of thing you tell yourself you'll save for the end and then demolish before the entrée arrives. And the meatballs on the side? Tender, well-seasoned, and substantial. Not an afterthought. The vibe inside is casual and comfortable -- the kind of place where you actually want to linger rather than rush out. They save your table for two hours, but then after we left, the line was still out the door. The restaurant is very reminiscent at old-school steakhouses. The interior ambience has an old-school charm with some nice upgrades and is very bright with nice green velvet couches that are comfortable to sit at. All the servers were very nice and patient with us even when they were super busy; our server Josh was very attentive. Good wine bottle prices starting at $40 didn't get a chance to try the cocktails but the prices are higher ag $15-$18. We ordered several starters to share for the table. Our favorite was the ricotta with olives. Very unique starter I haven't had that before and perfect mix of sweet savory with the honey in it too. They also give a basket of bread for the table, which was a nice touch. Also got an order of the zucchini fries, which is definitely a must have. It's that huge dish that the servers bring around with the mound of green fries on top of it fried perfectly and with a great seasoning. We got several different options for our mains. My friends really enjoyed the whole Bronzino with head on. I had the scallop dish which came with a very tasty corn and bacon risotto. Only three smaller pieces of scallop though so not worth the $44 imo. My other friends had the prime rib dip, which was tasty and the pork chop, which was also recommended by the server as an undercover dish that people don't order, but is surprisingly very good. Most of the meat dishes come with an additional side that you can choose. I like that they give you option options for ravioli spaghetti sides, instead of the typical fries or mashed potatoes. We also ordered two desserts the cheesecake which was highly recommended. It tasted like a soufflé cheesecake. It was very soft and fluffy. We also got the donuts which came with 2 different dipping sauces. The donuts were OK nothing extraordinary. Overall, had a very nice meal with friends would recommend going with a small group as they have great starters to share. I think I'll order the fish next time. I'm not partial to me, but they have a lot of meat dishes that looked exceptional. Park for three hours free in the Broadway parking plaza.

Tomatina of Walnut Creek was unfortunately a disappointment…read more My spouse and I came to Walnut Creek with plans to grab dinner. We originally planned to grab boba and eat at a different restaurant but when we parked the smell in the air called us to Tomatina instead. We originally came in and the older gentleman said they couldn't seat us right away and to come back in 20 minutes. We didn't mind and took a walk around the block and was seated right away when we returned and he brought us menus. A waiter came and was friendly, making sure he got the order correct. It seemed like he may have been in training. We decided to each get a lemonade, share the meatball appetizer, I ordered the pasta trio and my husband ordered the chicken parmesan. The meal started out nice with the drinks immediately coming out and the appetizer shortly after. The drinks were good, however they were out of pint glasses and came in a collins glass instead. The waiter mentioned the lack of pints and the smaller glass calling it fancy but didn't reference if we'd get a discount or a refill due to the smaller portion as a result of the glass switch. The meatballs were tender and had a good flavor. The sauce was nice and the bread was serviceable. After we finished our appetizer, there was a lack in service for at least 15 minutes. They did not clear the dirty dishes, offer water, or provide any type of check in. While we waited, my spouse had noticed a pasta entree (and a salad) was put up and was placed on top of a pizza box. He didnt think much of it until we started to realize we had been waiting longer than felt appropriate and noticed it was 3 different colors, like you'd expect for a pasta trio like I had ordered. Eventually the pasta was removed and we gave the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't my food that had been sitting out for at at least 10 minutes and they were just slow. A few minutes later, a waitress brought our entrees and they finally cleared the appetizer plates. I took my first bite and my food was cold. Not it cooled down but was still kinda warm, any food that was exposed to air was physically cold to the touch. My husband tried to flag the waitress down that delivered the food and her and another worker were talking and looking at their register with no awareness of the rest of the room. Given the service thus far, I just got up with the food and walked it over. I explained it was cold to the point where I said she could touch it (I proceeded to touch a noodle) and it's obviously too cold to be served. She apologized and said she talk the the cook/chef. My spouse watched as she went with my cold plate to the open kitchen and it was clear that she explained I said it was cold but they were not planning on remaking it and just reheating it. A trio of pastas with 3 different sauces would not be reheated in a pan so the assumption is there would be a microwave involved. My spouse got up and approached the cook and waitress that reheating the pasta was unacceptable because if we wanted reheated pasta, we could get something from a freezer section grocery store. At this point the waitress seemed shocked that we'd say anything about them choosing to just reheat the food. After a few more remarks they finally said that they'd remake my food. But that'd mean I had to wait while my spouse ate or my husband would wait and then their food was cold when we eat together. At this point, the service was so bad and they made it fell like we were inconveniencing them by wanting at least warm food, my spouse said we just wanted to settle up and leave. Again it took them a minute to process that we didn't want to stay there anymore and eventually said we could just leave. We left and have no plans on returning. I would consider trying a different location since it's a chain, but I will not be back to the Walnut Creek location. I give Tomatina a very generous 2 stars for the service at the very start of the night and the flavor of the meatballs.

The pace of our dinner moved along exactly as expected. Service (Jess, et al) is friendly, professional and timely. Members of the service staff moved in and out efficiently to refill water, remove plates and keep our table uncluttered.
