Came by for breakfast the other day and it was a decent experience. Dishoom Shoreditch is conveniently located near a bus stop. Dining is available both indoors or outdoors in the covered seating area. Service was attentive by the staff. Started off with the chai and it was decent. I think their chai used to be more fragrant. Moved on to the wrestler's naan and it was gigantic featuring freshly baked naan cream cheese, ketchup, eggs, streaky bacon, along with sausages. The wrap was a touch hard to eat too! The restaurant was 20% full during a weekday breakfast. The restaurant was offering some type of loyalty card at checkout. Paying is done via QR code and credit card...which leads me to ask the question...what is the 12.5% service charge for then?!?
Dishoom absolutely delivers on flavor. Every dish we tried had depth, heat, and that layered spice that lingers in the best way. The prawns were good, perfectly cooked with bold, punchy seasoning. My biggest recommendation: go big with your ordering. This isn't the kind of place where you stick to one or two plates. The magic really happens when you try a wide variety and share everything around the table. It's much better suited for larger groups than a small, quiet dinner for two. Service was solid, attentive without hovering, and the overall vibe is lively, energetic, and fun. It feels like a place meant for conversation and passing plates back and forth. Only minor knock: oddly enough, the toilets weren't as clean or as vibey as the rest of the restaurant, which felt a little off-brand given how polished everything else is. That said, 100% worth the visit. Go hungry, bring friends, and order more than you think you need.
Dishoom is always a go-to while in London. Everything is so flavorful, so fresh and so delicious. The restaurant has such a great energy and is always lively. The staff is friendly and attentive. I do recommend a reservation as I have never seen it not busy. This restaurant is also a great option if you have vegetarian/vegan folks in your group as the menu has something for everyone. My personal go-tos - chai tea, house black daal, and the chicken ruby. I highly recommend Dishoom if you are in London!
Amazing Indian restaurant on the pricer side but worth it. You can't make reservations but you can wait in line. They give you complimentary drinks while you wait and the line moves fast. They then let you get a drink in the bar area while you wait. The atmosphere is super cool and fun. The service from the waiter to the hostess was fantastic. Very attentive and knowledgeable. They have multiple locations as well. Def worth a stop!
Dishoom had been on our list for weeks leading up to our recent trip. We were able to grab the last walk in table available just before 6pm. The food was mouth watering and oh, so delicious. The chicken ruby was the star of the show, though it did not have much chicken. I would suggest adding more chicken. They recommend that you order 3-4 things and split them amongst 2 people and that is what we did. The interior was very nice and the vibes were high. It was very crowded! We would go back tomorrow if we could! Looking forward to when it expands to the US.
I've really been looking forward to finally being able to give Dishoom a try! I walked-in around 6:30 on a Monday and was quoted around a 20 min wait time (solo dining this time) -- there's a nice bar area for customers to wait and order some drinks/snacks. Ultimately I managed to get seated just around the estimated 20 min :) Per my server's recommendation, I ordered the chicken ruby with garlic naan, and it was definitely a great choice. I loved the depth of the curry flavour, a wonderful balance of umami, creaminess and the (just-right level of) spicy-ness. The meat was so tender and juicy, and very well-infused with the rich curry flavour. The garlic naan, light and fluffy, was a lovely complement to the heavier flavours of the curry (but I wish it had more of a garlicky taste). I also ordered a mango and fennel lassi to drink, which was yummy. The mango flavour was crisp and fresh, and I liked that it wasn't too sweet nor was the texture too thick. I did not taste much of the fennel though. Portion sizes were not bad -- I think it's definitely a higher-end restaurant and the prices reflect that. I'm really looking forward to my next visit already to try some other fantastic dish off their fairly-extensive menu.
Every trip to London, Dishoom was a must. This time round very disappointed their service sucked. Not sure if the quality of their food and services have gone down due to how quickly they have expanded that they don't care about, both service or quality. I feel this place is gaining attention due to the Hype it created when it first opened. When we got there no line which was great seated immediately. We waited 15min before we were attended to. We ordered our drinks and meals at the same time. Appetizers came out no drinks. Which was ok. We asked for water 3 times from our server, she smiled and tapped me on the shoulder and walked away. I'm now confused if water was coming or not so we waived another server and right away got water. Finally got our drinks , which was a soda and wine. So not that they were preparing a fancy cocktail. We ordered chicken tikka which was very spicy and didn't feel like a 2 start, fish curry which was very flavorful, prawns were spicy and delicious as expected. The naans came out very chewy which we all were very disappointed about. We thought it was a bad batch so ordered another serving and plain naan was giving our gums a good stretch. When we told our server she goes that's how naans are supposed to be and I mentioned our garlic naan was fine. Again she smiled and walked away. No doubt our dinner experience here was challenging but what got us the most was the smell of food that carried with us after dinner. Poor ventilation and not sure if this had to do with the kitchen being upstairs or what but we smelled of what we ate through out the evening, that we tried to walk it off but didn't help. We got in our uber headed to our hotel and I could tell our driver was not happy with the smell and put his window down in the pouring rain. Smell stayed with us till our next destination and there was no perfume at the duty free store that helped get rid of the smells. If you pls if visiting this location dress down and be prepared to "to-go" the smell with you.
Came to Dishoom in Shoreditch with no reservation and expected a long wait, but it wasn't too bad. We hung out at the bar and the bartender recommended their special drink, which ended up being amazing. I ordered the murgh malai and the chicken ruby and both were so flavorful and comforting. The garlic naan was okay but it didn't have much of a garlic taste, so that was the only thing I wasn't obsessed with. Overall the experience was great. The vibe is lively but still cozy, and the service was friendly and attentive even with the crowd. I would definitely come back.
Had reservations for lunch at this place. Have seen the long lines at the other locations. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Sat downstairs. Was a little noisy and loud here so it was hard to hear our waitresses response and recommendations. We had the chicken biryani, the chef special - Prawn Pathia, the moan monkfish curry and the vegetarian samosas. Also ordered some naan. The sauce on the Prawn Pathia was so good. The prawns were well marinated and tasted great. The sauce had a spice to it and as well as some tang - tasted like chutney. We needed the extra naan for this and the curry. Fish curry was delicious- the first couple of spoons you could taste the tanginess of the curry but the coconut milk rendered a nice sweet ending. The vegetable samosas came with some chutneys/sayces. Our favorite was the coriander and mint: so refreshing. Definitely coming back next time I'm in London.
*Location / Directions Easy to find. The entrance is fairly unassuming but as you walk in and up to the greeters, it's very nicely decorated. We had a group of 4 and the wait at the time was 45 mins. Enough time for us to find seats at the bar and order drinks. *Drinks / Cocktails The bartender offered to walk us through the drink options and offered water as well. I am a huge fan of old fashions and a huge fan of anything coconut flavored so this old fashioned was absolutely amazing! The margarita was pretty standard but also very good. *Appetizers / Entree The food was freaking AMAZING! Packed with flavor, spice, fresh ingredients and the perfect blend of seasoning. We were all blown away with every item we tried and could not pick a favorite among the choices. The lamb chops were seasoned and prepared to perfection and the naan was incredible. I can go on and on, but I'll leave it there. LOL *Service From the greeter, to the bar tender, and from the server to the staff, the service was nothing short of welcoming and professional. Each person played their parts wonderfully and made us feel like we were the only ones in the entire restaurant. They were attentive, patient, and very helpful throughout our visit. * Conclusion Run! Do not walk to Dishoom! We were told that they are a chain restaurant and that they'll be opening a location in New York at the end of 2026. If all their chains were as awesome as this one, this will be great for the U.S. we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and recommend it when you're in London and want a unique and memorable experience. 10/10
This is by far the best Indian food I ever had. I like curry, but every time I always worry about smelling like Indian food or upset stomach after dinner, well I don't have to worry about any of those this time. The food was excellent, that Chicken Ruby was on point, it has hints of spicy and I just want to dip everything into that sauce. The PRAWN PATHIA has more spicy but with so sweetness to balance it. The naan and rice were also great balance, I need like 10 more naan for my sauce!!! The surprise was the grilled greens, I can tasted that they fresh off the grill and also the dressing that comes with it were excellent. This restaurant was also beautiful and staff were professional. I will come back every time I come back to London from now on!!!

Great place if you're a vegetarian or vegan. They'll have a special menu for you. I'm usually not big on Indian food but I was pleasantly suprised! The paneer cheese is great! read more

Came here on a Friday morning for brunch! It was decently packed but we had a reservation so we were seated right away! It had a nice long entrance that came into a large spacious restaurant with great ambient lighting and relax vibes. We had what we felt like a pretty big table to ourselves. The server was friendly and kind, and everything was quite fast. We got the house chai, which was delicious and warm, and also got the bun maska, which is a bun toasted on the outside with butter on the inside that you dip in the chai, which made a surprisingly delicious combination! For the main course, I had the Big Bombay, which resembles an English breakfast except it comes with masala baked beans, the home-made buns and Akuri, which is Pari Style Scrambled eggs. These were the things that made the dish more Indian! And it was delicious! Akuri is basically like scrambled eggs except flavoured with fried onions, ginger, coriander and some other spices. The masala baked beans were interesting too! The other items like the sausage, mushrooms and vine tomatoes were pretty standard though. Also, the bacon is really good - it's a thick, crispy and flavorful piece of bacon! The best part is mixing different things together to create tasty combinations! We also had their bacon naan roll on the side, which is pretty good as well. It came with this sauce that reminded me of bbq sauces. The naan roll was crispy, thin and had a sauce inside that kind of resembled mayonnaise. In the end, it was alright. I'd definitely come back, they have so many things on their menu that look delicious! read more
Wow this place is nothing short of incredible. Upon arrival you will see a line wrapped around the corner, but it is well worth the wait! A buddy and I hopped in line and told it would be about an hour and ten minutes. While waiting they brought us small glasses of sweet wine. Once we got into the building, we were able to go to the bar until our table was ready. We probably waited 30-40 minutes max. The Pau Bhaji was incredible. I would have been happy eating that alone. We ordered a few different dishes to share. Highly recommend sharing to try everything! I wish I could eat here everyday. Fair prices, great atmosphere, great service, and great ingredients. I personally not a big fan of Indian food. But this place completely changed me, the food is so delicious and perfect. Even the washroom is nicely decorated. The only downside is the wait time, we came here twice and both times we need to wait for at least 1 hr and of course no reservation can be made. read more

Worth the hype! Ordered takeout during lockdown and it came with instructions on how to prepare/reheat/garnish your food, plus a recipe for masala chai (how cute and thoughtful). They really pay attention to the details here. The black daal is an absolute must order; it was so decadent! Loved the mattar paneer (vegetarian curry) as well; it was light and flavorful. Can't wait for restaurants to reopen so I can go in person! read more

Hands down my favorite Indian restaurant in London, maybe even ever ( apart from being in India). This place is always packed! I've come for both dinner and lunch and lunch appears to be the easier time to get a spot. Dinner time, the lines are massive and you're likely going to wait for 1-2 hours, IT IS WORTH IT. Last time I was in town, I waited close to an hour and we were starving! But it gave us more of a reason to order everything on the menu. I heard today that they are finally taking reservations, so that's an option! The patio seating out front is amazing. The weather was great today and we were able to snag a table right away (it was 12:15! So we were lucky). We ordered quite a bit of food for two people, but we devoured it. The black daal is a must order! Get some butter naan and garlic naan to go with it. You will not be disappointed. We also ordered the paneer which was nice and spicy. read more

We came around 5 pm for dinner. Did not need a reservation but the restaurant was quite busy. Filled up by around 6. For two, we ordered the veggie samosas, garlic naan, chicken biryani and 1 lamb chop. The veggie samosa were very well seasoned and on the sweet side. The biryani and naan were nothing special. The lamb was tender and flavourful. Overall the meal was just average and did not live up to the hype. The portions we ordered were enough for us, but may not be enough if you guys are really hungry. read more

This will be review no. 350 for this particular branch of Dishoom reflecting just how popular this chain of Indian street food has become. I'll be keeping this one short as everything has been said before. There are always queues but it's worth the wait - our estimated 1 hour 20 minutes turned into about half an hour's wait before a table became available. The interim at the bar was a bit stressful as there just wasn't enought space. When we finally found a table to perch on, staff were very helpful and we relaxed with our first drink. By now we all have our favourites at Dishoom and mine's the okra chips. We shared a selection of daal and chicken dishes, everyone was happy. read more
Just WOW. The Dishroom was beyond delicious with perfect portions and an entire allergen menu. This was one of my favorite meals from my time in London. The interior had a great vibe with comfortable seating - perfect for conversation.The wait staff was also excellent (note I ate here before COVID). 10/10 experience and I will be back next time I'm in town! read more

It's now a tradition, it's that good. Came and got the chicken tikka, chicken curry, naan and basmati rice. So flavorful and delicious! It was too much food, tbh. Place was packed, 45 min wait and nowhere to sit when waiting. When I visit from CA, I'll be back! read more

There was an hour wait. We waited almost two, because of a faulty pager. You are not allowed to leave and come back either. By the time we were seated, the meal I came for was no longer available. There wasn't much I wanted to order here because I am Gluten free. It isn't just indian, it is indian/Iranian fusion. I was bummed. Update my server God bless him, saw that I was bummed got the manager and offered me a free alternative and another dish he recommended. It made my night that they were so kind. The dishes were delish. It wasn't Gluten free and I got sick, but that wasn't their fault they told me it wouldn't be. read more
When I visited London, I obviously wanted to try cuisines that the city was known for. In other words, what kind of food do I eat when in London? You know...ones I can't find in the US? So I made a basic list: English breakfast, Indian food, Fish and Chips. For Indian food, I decided to try Dishoom. I was informed by my friend that anyone who visits London to check out Dishoom. So...I did. I yelped it and was supremely excited to see lots of positive reviews. As such, we headed out to Dishoom in Shoreditch for dinner that night. Reservations are recommended to guarantee a table, otherwise I highly suggest you arrive early. Remember, Shoreditch is where the techies work so there's lots of people in the area. We went at 6pm and we were lucky to snag a table. But around 7-8pm, there was a long queue to get in. Dishoom's reputation definitely lived up to the hype for being a well known establishment. Ambience is quite lovely. The place had a very tavern feel to it; clean and professional. The employees were very nice and friendly. They greeted us formally as we walked in. It was, however, a bit dark but the lighting made it very exciting and appealing. We were seated downstairs which looked like a basement where you house and age wine. It was dope. Our waitress was very kind, attentive and responsive. Most importantly, she was well informed about the menu. She fielded all our questions and made key recommendations. For my drink, I ordered their very own Dishoom IPA. It wasn't too bitter, and actually surprisingly smooth. Lighter than the usual IPA but I liked it. For appetizers were ordered Pau Bhaji, Lamb Samosas, and Dishoom Calamari. OK THE PAU BHAJI was the BEST dish from my entire experience. The waitress recommended this and I was extremely pleased by it. It's a bowl of mashed vegetables with hella butter and they give you homemade buns to eat with. Absolutely tasty and delicious. This is a must order here. Also, it's a Bombay thing, so try it to fully immerse yourself in the Dishoom experience. Lamb Samosas - I'm not a big fan of lamb, but it was very well spiced and delicious. Point is, I enjoyed it despite disliking the taste of lamb. Dishoom Calamari - it was ok. Tasted like any other calamari dish I've had. A tiny bit disappointed here but not big deal. For our main courses, we ordered Murgh Malai, Dishoom Chicken Tikka, Masala Prawns, House Black Daal, and Chicken Berry Britannia. Murgh Malai - It was cooked very properly, but wasn't flavorful. It was ok, not bad. Dishoom Chicken Tikka - A bit disappointed because I had better Chicken Tikka, but still good. Not amazingly good. Masala Prawns - Grilled well, tasted good, needs a bit more seasoning. House Black Daal - Dishooms signature dish. Very well made and unique consistency in terms of texture. I liked it very much. My 2nd favorite dish next to the Pau Bhaji. Must order. Chicken Berry Britannia - Had well chosen mix of spices but I was disappointed because it was drier than what I was used to. Spices were well played though. Would I come back? Absolutely! I would also recommend this place to anyone visiting London. They have to stop by and check it out. read more

Ok ok I admit Dishoom is really good. I don't love that you know you're going to be waiting at least an hour for food, but, the food is actually really good. We came here with some friends on a week day evening around 6:30 and waited about an hour. But within 15 minutes we were warm inside and able to buy drinks, and those cold 15 minutes we were offered chai and peppermint tea! So life isn't so hard after all. Anyway, after the wait we were taken to a lovely table and super cozy chairs. I was really excited to sit in the front area! Our server was very attentive and friendly, and the food was delish. We had veggie samosas, lady fingers (fried okra), chilli garlic bread, mattar paneer (veggie curry) jack fruit biryani, paneer tikka and mashed spicy potatoes. Everything was delicious but I was especially blown away by the mattar paneer and the jackfruit biryani. The curry was especially creamy and flavourful, but the biryani was really the star because that jackfruit tasted so meaty and had the best flavour and texture! Yes please I'd definitely get it again. And I'll come again and be happy to wait :) read more

Absolutely worth the wait. Bartenders and wait staff were excellent. I enjoyed the local beer and excellent food. I also appreciate that they support two charities by providing a meal for a child for every meal served. read more

This place is amazing. I loved every single dish I got here, we ended up ordering 3 more dishes. The mango lassi was super good too! We ordered the garlic naan, the yogurt (raita), Black daal, chicken biryani, chicken tikka, vegetable samosas, and last but not least the chicken ruby. Seriously everything here was sooo good. I would definitely recommend the garlic naan and chicken ruby! Order the rice on the side and you're good to go. I already miss this place! read more
I went here twice in 3 days. It's that good! I was worried that the second time would disappoint but not the case. First of all, be prepared to wait an hour (we went on a Friday night and on a Sunday night and waited both nights). But you can enjoy a delicious cocktail at the bar while you wait. I enjoyed the Viceroy Manhattan. Boozy and delicious! My favorite dishes were chicken ruby and black daal. Holy moly. Talk about complex, rich flavor. The daal has a bit of creaminess (it's vegan so I don't what they put in here!) that I've never tasted in a daal and that I was so here for. The chicken ruby is just beyond words. Also good were the lamb mimosas, lamb chops, the puffed poori with chickpea curry, cheese bread and the roti. The lamb raan bun (basically a lamb sandwich) and the chicken tikka rolls were fine but underwhelming compared to the others that hit the spot. I'll come here (at least once!) every time I'm in London. read more
Just blown away from this place. The food was awesome, the drinks were creative, and the service was excellent. We came here for dinner and ended up coming back for breakfast later in the trip. We ordered a feast the first night it was hard to recall all of it but we had a few rice dishes, a curry, cheesy bread, naan, fried okra, corn....to start. Those were all spot on! The star was this slow cooked lamb shank with this yogurt sauce that the waiter insisted we try. Hands down the best lamb I've had. Paired it with their in house beer and it just blew our minds. Breakfast was equally as impressive. There's just too much to recommend - come and you won't be disappointed. read more
Enjoyed this hip Indian restaurant in Shoreditch! This was the first restaurant that we went to once we landed in London. We missed our original lunch time reservation, but they were able to accommodate us at 2 pm on a Friday. They kindly introduced us to the bar and let us know we could order some drinks while we wait. Soon after we ordered, they had a table available for 2! The service was great. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. The food was good! There were some sauces that came with our apps, was a fan of the green sauce. What we ordered: Lamb samosas - soo good, prob my fave thing honestly. Crispy and flavorful. Okra fries: delish but gotta be a fan of okra's gooey texture Spicy lamb chops: yummy! Flavorful and tender. Chicken ruby curry: tasty curry! Garlic naan: good because it's naan, but lacking in the garlic flavor department To sum it up, everything was yummy, but not like out of this world delicious. Also, I was so glad we did not smell like food after we left especially since we had to be out and about. Def make a stop if you can. Get the lamb samosas! read more

Delicious, beautiful, trendy, and reasonably-priced. No wonder this chain is so popular and opening everywhere! Walked in by myself around 6pm and was told there is a 30-minute wait. No problem, went to the bar and got their namesake IPA. Pretty good beer, as expected. The bartenders are friendly and cute, gave me some good recommendation for drinks and where to go. Before I knew it, my table was ready. I got fried okra, chicken ruby, basmati rice and garlic naan. Everything was fantastic. Everything. I had too much food so I shared my okra with my neighbors and made friends :) Dishoom is awesome, now go line up! read more

This Indian restaurant has wonderful food but it quite pricey for the portion sizes they serve. Sharing with two friends, we filled up on cheese naan (I recommend normal naan over the cheese- cheese is like a scallion pancake), Paul bhaji, chicken ruby, roomali roti, and chicken berry britannia. Servers were great besides leaving us without water for an extended period of time with tingling spicy mouths. The bathrooms were nice. Good experience but be ready for a high bill. £££ read more

Trendy and fun experience. Liked it so much we came one day for lunch and dinner! They have a very cool and casual vibe and the service was super friendly. A great place to enjoy some small plates and drinks with friends. They have two floors but I prefer the upstairs. The lentils and the lamb samosas.YUM! read more
Omg I love this restaurant! Some of The best I've had in London. We ordered just about everything on the menu and everything was tasty!!! Definitely go with whatever the server suggests and try and much as you can! If you can't handle spicy food, then maybe Indian food is just not for you. read more

Dishoom is my favorite restaurant in London. After going quite a few times, I do recommend going on the weekends because the food comes out quicker and better. Other than the lengthy wait for a table, their food is superb!!! The best Indian restaurant in London. A must visit! read more

I got in after a 45-min wait and it was totally worth it. The Mumbai-style Bhel made me nostalgic bringing back my Mumbai days. The 24 hour dal was delicious! And I loved the Roomali Roti. It's been decades since I've had that. read more
