Roti Chai is an absolute gem. Came in tonight, a short distance to the play in Regent Park. We had a much needed reservation, received a window seat and set out to order. We were upstairs, where there is a street food type menu. The chicken lollipops are exceptionally done. In fact this remains my all time favorite Indian restaurant.

Indian street food restaurant and their portion is great. You can order appetizers like lollipop chicken to share. It comes with mint dip and it was very good. We ordered lamb curry with naan bread and it was flavorful. It gets very busy at night, recommend to go early!

This place was incredible!!! I cannot recommend it enough. The food was undeniably our favorite meal during our trip to London. Everything had so much flavor and each dish was better than the last. The service was quick and very kind. The waiter had many recommendations for us and was very pleasant to talk to. As were the hostesses. Everyone was very attentive. A manager even came and asked us how our meal was and questioned if we have any suggestions for them to improve on, to which we of course said no and that everything was perfect; The inside is clean and beautiful, as well as the bathrooms. Very good atmosphere with lovely decor. If I was a local, this is where I would take all my guests. 10/10 would recommend. ((I don't really write recommendations, but this place was so good, I had to))

Did an early dinner and had no issue getting seated. Strong food menu; everything we ordered was verygood. We opted for the more formal downstairs dining area, which had a nice vibe. Upstairs is Indian street food style and a completely different menu. Cocktails were very good too. Knocked a star off because the toilet area was not clean and our server wasn't familiar with the menu items.

Came here today as my last stop before heading to Heathrow. I hadn't managed my time so well and only had about 30 minutes for lunch. Luckily, I visited during Ramadan and they weren't as busy as normal. I was seated right away and got the Samosa Chaat and the Jackfruit Biryani. Both were delicious... especially when you add a little bit of the yogurt and chutney from the chaat to the biryani. Shout out to the kind hostess and the waitress who made sure the kitchen got my order out quickly. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting London or local to the Marble Arch area.

Roti Chai is located on Portman Mew S and near Portman St in Marylebone, London. We found Roti Chai highly rated in Yelp and we would like to check it out. We came here for dinner and they're not busy at all. The hostess asked us would like to try street kitchen or dinning room. We hesitated the different and checked the menu pretty the same dishes. We prefered to have Indian Tapas and we could ordered a bit more. Garlic Naan - it's fresh made, soft and fluffy. Vegetable Samosa - it's good but not great. Macher Jhol - fish curry just ok and not flavourful. Railway Lamb Curry - it's medicore and curry wasn't rich. Overall, lacking food presentation and not authentic dish but the service was excellent.

We started with some yummy cocktails and the okra fries which were delicious - if only okra always tasted this good. For mains, we shared the chicken tikka, black daal, paneer and garlic naan. Pretty standard Indian order. The chicken tikka was just too spicy and we weren't used to that so it went mainly eaten. My favorite was the black daal but again, it wasn't so amazing that I would go and have it again. Honestly the best dish we had was dessert - the basmati kheer is a perfect rice pudding with crème brûlée like topping. So good. Service was spotty, I constantly found myself trying to find our server or make eye contact with him. They were slammed on a Tuesday night (which I'm sure is the case every night) so that's probably just the way things are but it could've been better. Disappointed but willing to try again, also made me want to try some other Indian spots in London next.

I feel like all my friends who've been to London have come back talking about this place, and I'm happy to join their ranks. Dishoom was also one of a handful of dining options recommended by my hotel concierge for a party of 11, including kids. Booking was easy, via SevenRooms, no phone calls or emails necessary. It's a large restaurant, and part of a popular chain--I guess they have things figured out. The space was great, open and casual, exposed ceilings and eclectic decor. Lots of fans, which my three-year-old appreciated. Service was friendly and attentive. I started my lunch with a drink, a refreshing green India Gimlet, gin and Rose's lime with celery bitters and fresh dill. I also tried and liked a sip of the New Permit Room Old-Fashioned, a slightly sweet cocktail with coconut-washed bourbon, Pedo Ximénez sherry, and Medjool date liqueur. There was only one menu available for a party of our size, a pre-set family-style group feast for eight adults, to which we added a pre-ordered platter of lamb chops. I loved the variety of dishes that came with this meal, and every one of them was ridiculously delicious. (There was less available for the three small American children, but they loaded up on hotel breakfast and snacked on naan and colorful puffed crackers.) The first round brought trays loaded with keema pau, okra fries, and bhel, along with lime, cilantro, and sauces for serving. The keema pau was incredible, probably my favorite dish of our lunch, if in part because it was 100% new to me. It was a spicy, aromatic blend of minced lamb and peas with dill and lindi pepper, served with toasted, buttered buns to make little sliders. So much flavor, it almost explained, by itself, why the British could never leave India alone. The okra fries were warm and crispy, and I loved the bhel, a crunchy snack of puffed rice, peanuts, and Bombay Mix tossed with pomegranate, tomato, onion, lime, tamarind, and mint. The main course was another giant spread: chicken ruby, house black daal, awadhi jackfruit biryani, and chilled broccoli salad, plus our charred lamb chops, with sides of roti, naan, and raita. The chicken ruby was the highlight here, a fragrant, comforting curry Chicken Ruby Tender chicken in a rich, silky makhani sauce. A good and proper curry redolent with spice and flavour. ~ House Black Daal (V) A Dishoom signature dish - dark, rich, deeply flavoured. It is cooked over 24 hours for extra harmony. ~ Awadhi Jackfruit Biryani (V) Sturdy, savoury jackfruit and delicately flavoured rice, potted, sealed and cooked the traditional way. Adorned with barberries and sultanas. ~ Chilli Broccoli Salad (Ve, V) Toasted pistachios and shredded mint leaves with finest, greenest broccoli, fresh red chillies, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, dates and lime. CHARRED LAMB CHOPS 19.90 Two chops of generous proportions lie overnight in raw papaya, yoghurt and humble spices. Blackened on the grill and finished with a thrilling Kashmiri chilli sauce. A speciality of new standing. ~ Roomali Roti (Ve, V) Soft handkerchief-thin bread, thrown, stretched and griddled to order on an upturned tawa. ~ Plain Naan (V) freshly baked in the tandoor ~ Raita (V) Delicate minty yoghurt, cool as a cucumber END WITH YOUR CHOICE OF Mango Kulfi (V) ~ Pistachio Kulfi (V) ~ Malai Kulfi (V) original with caramel

The chilli chicken was also a super flavorful app to share and the garlic naan was great as well.
