We first dined at Yatri back in 2022 and we returned again in our most recent trip to London. The food is still as good as we remembered. This time we made reservations here via The Fork app since there was an 30% discount offer. We ordered the onion bhaji (starter), lamb hari mirch (entree), lasooni paneer chicken (entree), butter naan, and jeera rice. We enjoyed our entrees a lot and they were generous with the meat. The jeera rice was OK for me and I would probably stick with regular plain basmati rice. Overall, I definitely recommend this Indian restaurant if you are around the Saint Pancras area. read more

We knew in London that we absolutely must try Indian. I saw another Yelp review recommend Yatri over another highly popular spot so decided to try it. So glad we did! Went in a Thursday and grabbed a 7:30 reservation. Definitely get a reservation! The place is fairly small and was packed inside and out. Those without a reservation had about an hour wait until things opened up around 8:30. We chose the Lamb Biryani, chicken korma and garlic naan. It was all so good! Biryani was a bit spicy but served with a yogurt sauce to soften the flavors. The korma was delicious and was a perfect item to balance the biryani. The naan was cooked perfectly. I only wish we had orders an extra side of steamed rice to not let any of the korma sauce go uneaten! We opted for dessert and tried the gulab jamun which was the perfect way to end the meal. From the start the hostess was charming, she apologized that they were fully booked but offered a table outside. We weren't sure because of the rain, but decided to risk it. The heaters and awning kept us warm and dry. Dev our waiter was brilliant. Based upon previous reviews we knew to order the Railway chicken (it didn't disappoint) and he suggested the Bombay chicken. Vaguely hole-in-the-wall Indian with excellent curry and good naan. I was staying at the Pullman St Pancras after getting in around dinner time on a Eurostar from Brussels and needed something to eat. This looked good, and was around the corner. I was hungry and ate two different curry dishes with naan completely, which was only a little bit more food than I probably should have eaten. I first got the Railway Chicken, which seems to be their signature dish. It was flavorful and fantastic. It's basically chicken tikka masala, but with a somewhat more complicated sauce and has potatoes and a hard-boiled egg. It was well-above-average Indian food, even by London standards, which are pretty high. I was still hungry, so I also Mughlai Kadhai Lamb, which was similar, but not quite as different. Still yummy and the lamb was tender. The place was a little cramped and stylish in a good way and the service was fast and attentive. I'd definitely come back again if I was in the area. read more

BEST INDIAN FOOD of my life! We knew we wanted to try the best London had to offer. We did research, looked at menus and reviews and found the authentic Indian we were looking for. From start to finish, it was a silent meal filled with "ohhs" and "ahhs" and "oh my god this is so good." Service was also incredible and fast. We walked in around 6 as it was filling up. It is a small place so make reservations! We had the chicken tikka, paneer, samosas and onion bhaji. All were 10/10. Make sure to get the garlic naan and eat with a spoon. We barely touched our rice. The food here was simply fantastic! We got there when the restaurant was closing and the owner was so kind and let us order still even though it was packed. The waitress was beyond attentive, made recommendations and didn't make us feel rushed. Excellent service, fast and attentive. We didn't have a reservation and we were able to get seated right away. The food were so good. Right portion and reasonably priced. We got mango lassi, garlic chili nan, raise curry chicken and Bombay chicken curry plus cumin rice. We also ordered the peshawari nan, which was nice and warm but a bit too sweet for my taste, but the owner did warn me it was a sweet nan. Some people might like it. read more

I went to the location in west Kensington area and loved it!! I ordered to go and the food is delicious. Pictures wouldn't do it justice on the takeaway order but the flavors were amazing. I got the chicken tikka makhani, similar to a butter chicken but with a bit of spice to it. I also got rice, buttered naan, and the kachumber salad (chopped onions, tomatoes, cucumber, and carrot). It was comfortable inside and the server was quick to bring me tea and samosas with lots of yummy sauce options The entree was fabulous - piping hot and beautiful. London, England is famous for so many things, most of all its rich history, museums and so much more. Certainly, it's the host to more excellent Indian food restaurants anywhere in the world outside of India. Yatri in the Kings Crossing neighborhood is one of these. On this freezing, blistering night, nothing sounded better than this hot- spicy cuisine. We somehow secured a table without a reservation at this wildly popular restaurant and dove into their well curated menu. But, first, I needed a double shot of some whiskey / Rye / or scotch to knock the chill out of me. I knew Wild Turkey would do the trick! I ordered a double shot "neat" and much to my chagrin, Yatri's double size pour is about the size of a thimble. I mean, not even one finger. Back home in Chicago, a double pour can be three or four fingers, so I sent it back and ordered ale. A minor faux pas, I let pass (for now)! We ordered: A terrific Tikka Chicken in a creamy masala sauce A vegan lentil / veggie dish in a brown spicy sauce Really delicious Indian rice A fresh crisp cucumber salad Everything was excellent, but I was still slightly miffed about my whiskey! We walked back to our hotel (again on this freezing night). I went to our bar, and Viola.......their double whiskey was exactly that - a double whiskey. Yatri, you've got to be more generous with your pours. You're too good of a restaurant to be so stingy on this one issue. read more

Very cozy spot for a small group dinner! The menu was extensive -- ranging from curries to lamb chops to paneer to garlic and coconut naan. I personally ordered the lamb chops and coconut naan, and while I loved the flavor of the lamb chops, half the meat was plain fat that I had to cut off. As for the coconut naan, there were definitely a lot of coconut flakes, but not sure it went too well with the naan. My friends ordered the curries, and their portions looked very small. The rice is also an extra 4.5 pounds, so it can be a bit much to spend for one meal without sharing. read more

My small family of three dined tonight at Yatri on the last night of our vacation in London. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food was the best Indian food I've ever had, across NYC, Chicago, Bay Area, and (now) London. Got food poisoning after eating the Tarka Dal. I've been sick for five days now. It started a few hours after eating it.

This spot was a serendipitous find when our original destination was overbooked. The food was outstanding; truly some of the best Indian cuisine I've ever had. I highly recommend the crispy mushrooms. They were simply perfect: lightly fried and then sautéed in a sweet, spicy, and garlicky sauce with peppers and onions. I will be back. read more

We found Yatri on Trip Advisor and decided to try it since it was so close to our hotel. I and writing to my fellow Yelp users since as a citizen I rely mostly on Yelp for my restaurant choices. The service was warm and friendly. We ate at the bar which was quite comfortable. The meal was presented in small, unique copper pots which kept the food piping hot. We chose Tikka Masala, Muglai Lamb ,garlic naan, and vegetable curry with basmati rice. Everything was delicious! If you are in King's Cross, Yatri is a great local find with authentic Indian eats! We walked into this place around 10pm and the kitchen was about to close but they graciously accepted us in. We ordered they brought us our food very quickly and piping hot. The waiter also made a great suggestion when we were at a loss of the second dish to get. We got chicken tikka and veggie dish (forgot the name) consisting of peas and maybe ginger in a red sauce. Aaahhh the atmosphere is calm, relaxing and buzzing at the same time. The interior of the restaurant is quite unique, you wouldnt thought this is an Indian restaurant untill you come out of there. Service is very friendly and staff is generous. Got plenty of free papadams and laughter. The food is very different compare to your normal Indian restaurants. I couldnt find Vindalu, sagg or rogan josh but what they have on the menu is very unique. They made a special Talapia fish curry off the menu and that was heaven.
