If you're looking for great Indian food in London, I highly recommend Mumbai Delight! My husband and I came here for dinner because it was within walking distance of our Airbnb, and we were so glad we did. Small tables but good ambiance. We started with the Tiltala Jhinga, which was absolutely incredible, followed by the Onion Bhaji, which was delicious--especially with the mango chutney. For my main course, I ordered the Murg Tikka Masala, and it was outstanding. It was rich, creamy, full of flavor, and not spicy at all, which was exactly what I was hoping for. Just keep in mind that rice and naan are ordered separately, but the garlic naan was hands down the best I've ever had--soft, buttery, and packed with garlic. My husband ordered the Lamb Angara, and while he really enjoyed it, I have to admit I thought my Tikka Masala was even better. If you're in the mood for something lighter, I also recommend the avocado salad. The simple olive oil and lemon (or vinegar) dressing was fresh and refreshing, making it a great addition to the meal. The service was excellent as well. The staff was attentive, friendly, and provided great customer service throughout our visit. Wow! One of the better Indian meals I've had anywhere. It's no wonder that it's in London, one of the better spots worldwide. Nice ambiance and attentive service on a rainy night where I was the only patron. Lots of takeout happening though. This might not be the fanciest Indian food place I've been to in London but it's right up there at the top for quality. The Lamb Rogan Josh was delicious and spicy. Just unbelievable depth of flavor. This is my favorite Indian restaurant in London. On my 3rd visit in as many years, I found the food was delicious, service attentive and it is a nice, quiet place for dinner. For our anniversary dinner we enjoyed papadum, onion bhaji, and calamari. Everything just right and spicy. For the main course we had rogan josh, dal makhini and sag aloo. My partner and I are visiting London for our anniversary, and fancied Indian cuisine. Searching 'Indian food' into open table is a risk, as some restaurants don't pan out to be what you expect. Absolutely perfect meal. Great food and wonderful service in a cozy little space. Our waiter suggested the perfect amount of food for our group of 6 very hungry Americans. This is a solid 4-star Indian joint. Don't bother with a reservation - you'll get in. Benefitting from the relative anonymity of just about every restaurant in Vauxhall, it's empty on every night except for Friday (until, of course, those 11 towering elevator shafts under construction become real flats over next 18 months...). The guys who run it are friendly and easy, and remember their regulars - a big plus. The decor is simple, the seats are comfy, they won't ever rush you, and the prices are really decent for what you get. The food itself is really nice. Sauces thick, meat dishes chunky, nan plentiful, and sauces sour and spicy. As an indian restaurant, I would list this as "solid": it won't be the best indian food you've ever had, though the ease combined with general quality (versus East London, for example...) will leave you with a very high opinion of Mumbai Delight upon departure. They're equally good for takeaway or delivery, and are always as fast as they say they will be. Highly worth a visit, and if you live in Vauxhall, you should probably be a regular. read more

Found this place while in London on vacation. Service was a bit off but perhaps this was a one-off. By example, I arrived before my companion and rather than offer me any food or drink, server just ignored me until I waved her down. The food was incredible. We had the mumbai delight biryani and the lamb angara. Ive never had smoked lamb before but it was as tender as you'd expect. We also had the king prawn appetizer and it was really flavorful. Our boys loved the poppadoms. We got there before the dinner rush and the staff was so friendly and accomodating to us with our twin toddlers. Had a lovely meal here. As other reviews have indicated, the staff were great, and the food was delicious. In particular, the king prawn peri peri was to die for! The prawns were cooked in an almost sweet and soury - yet firey - sauce that I had not encountered before. The Biryani rice pot with lamb was also very nice.
