Fantastic ambiance and service! The food was phenomenal so very different than the states. Prices are fair and servings were perfect! We opened for the lunch portion as we are traveling and can't take left overs. The husband recommends the Cobra beer to pair with the Indian, maybe just to try.

Wow. It has been a long time since we've been to a place that surprised us like The India 3 - Best in the City did. First off, the staff were all wonderful. We walked into their downstairs area, and the vibe was very chill while a little lively (and lovely). Dimly lit, music playing at a low volume, and a beautiful tiger painted on a wall. We were greeted immediately and in a friendly manner. We made reservations with Fork and were led to our table. First, the staff provided us with the sample of Papadom four different dipping trays including a diced vegetables tray, mango chutney, a spicy pickled limes dip, and a yogurt with mint and honey. So good! Wow! We ordered one main dish and one side per person. - Lamb Shank with a side of Pilaou rice which looks a bit like biryani rice. So good. One of the recommended dishes. - Butter Chicken with a side of rice. The hint of coconut and almond was yummy. - Channa Masala also with rice. My daughter loved it. - My son had the Lamb Biryani and it was a big serving of rice with a tasty lamb in sauce. A little different than we were expecting but still great. - Balti Masala Chicken, my wife ordered it and also loved it. All the dishes were just fantastic. We would recommend any of them. We were so stuffed, we actually had leftovers for every person in our group. Good portion sizes. The staff also provided us with some chocolates at the end. The staff were all just wonderful. They checked on us frequently, but not in a way that was at all intrusive. Everyone was very friendly, conversational, open to making recommendations, and just generally felt like people. Well trained and courteous. Even though we are part of the first sitting, they never rushed us into paying or leaving. Just super hospitable. Thank you to the team at The India 3. Our family highly recommends this place. It's been a long time since we have been this surprised, and that a place has overdeliver food, service, and audience versus expectations versus what we have seen in Google reviews, Yelp, and Fork feedback. Thank you for a wonderful meal and time. From the travelling Canadians with the kids that have egg and nut allergies.

I'm here for work & had to get some Indian. This place was delicious! The ambience was great. I ordered the chicken vindaloo which was perfectly spicy and melt in your mouth tender. I will definitely be back to try again!

Excellent food, drink and service during our visit. The bar seemed a bit limited but the staple cocktails were above average.

Garlic naan, regular naan, vegetable curry, khari paneer, butter chicken, and lamb vindaloo

So we did some research. Somewhere along the line we found Meraz written up as one of the 12 best Indian restaurants in England. Okay, so we trek over to the East End (pretty wild neighborhood that we enjoyed) for dinner at Meraz. My husband was disappointed not to find a particular dish on the menu, but the waiter didn't hesitate to offer to have the kitchen whip it up special for him. My husband also went a little wild ordering all sorts of appetizers and side dishes. Now I don't like to deal in hyperbole. A five star rating should be sufficient praise. But I'm going to go overboard just this once: BEST INDIAN FOOD I'VE EVER EATEN IN A RESTAURANT. EVER. I've eaten in Indian restaurants at home in Chicago, in L.A., New York, St.Louis, Atlanta, San Francisco, etc., etc. etc. Many have been good, but none approached this. We ate every scrap of all the food we ordered, and only because we had a tight timeline and a busy itinerary for our brief visit to London did we not go back for at least a second meal.

Not just "hyped", dishoom deserves the recognition!…read more SERVICE Amazing service, easy to make reservations online, and easy to check in and get seated once your entire party has arrived. INSIDE Spacious, clean, and plenty of seating both upstairs and down. MENU For larger parties, they recommend their prefix menu which includes a various sampling of lots of delicious items. FOOD 10/10 I haven't eaten Indian food much, but was thoroughly impressed. From my mango lassi which was perfectly sweetened and tart to buttered buns, fried okra, black Dahl, garlic naan, and lamb skewers, everything was delicious. I esp loved the lamb skewers! We ordered a side of garlic naan with cheese which is basically a quesadilla and it was super cheesy and delicious as well. OVERALL Would def recommend Dishoom when visiting London. It'll definitely be a hit in your books!

The food was exceptional -- aroma, flavors, spice levels, portions; everything was perfect. While visiting London, a local friend invited me to Dishoom, knowing how much I love Indian cuisine. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon around 5PM, and the place was already packed. They don't take reservations for dinner unless you're a large group, but trust me, the wait is worth it. They have a fantastic bar where you can grab drinks while you wait for a table (they give you buzzers). I tried the Negroni and another tequila-based cocktail (sadly I can't remember the name), and both were phenomenal. Shared plates are definitely the way to go at Dishoom. We ordered the gunpowder potatoes (incredible), an appetizer with potatoes and pineapple (not my favorite; the pineapple threw me off), monkfish curry (amazing), and chicken curry. It was a lot of food for just two of us, but I couldn't stop eating. I seriously wanted to bottle up that sauce! The service was surprisingly impeccable, especially considering how busy they were. We ended up spending about £110 for an incredible dinner, and we nearly couldn't finish everything. Lastly, the ambiance! Inspired by Iranian cafes in India, the atmosphere at Dishoom is eclectic. I loved the dim lighting, unique decor, and the lively pace of the restaurant. Just go!
