    Mango Lassi
    Jacques I.

I had to get Indian food while in London. Thus, we bring you Cinnamon Bazaar. It was a solid Indian restaurant in a bustling neighborhood. Good food, better service. Located in Covenant Garden, Cinnamon Bazaar on a Saturday night was busy. Make reservations ahead of time, which you can easily do online. Because of that, we were able to be seated soon after we walked in since most tables were taken. I ordered the Indo-Madagascan beef curry and a mango lassi. We also had garlic naan for sharing. Everything was good. The curry was tasty with a thick texture for the naan to scoop up, and I liked the hints of lemongrass with the flavor. Naan was standard. The mango lassi was nice, but wish it had been cooler as it was warmer than anticipated. Cinnamon Bazaar is a solid place for Indian food in a city that has a lot of it. I don't know if it's the best in London, but it satisfies your craving. The staff on the other hand were exceptional. Our server was super friendly and checked in with us throughout our dinner. Nice time.

Because it was during Christmas time and getting in at Dishoom was impossible(was closed Dev 25 -26), Cinnamon Bazaar was a great alternate Indian restaurant and conveniently located near Covent Garden where we had other stuff on our list to do! This place has a lively vibe with friendly staff from the Reception/Manager to our waiter Tanvir! I like Indian food but cautiously only try out easy ones like a Biryani or a Tandori chicken style mostly. My daughter however will try the most unusual or ethnic or local-recommended...you get my point! So, although there was no butter chicken on the menu, when I mentioned it and settled (actually ordered) with something I thought was similar, the Chef surprised me with a Buttered Chicken anyway and it was so delicious! I want more! Our waiter was super friendly and made sure we had a great experience, refilled our drinks and checked in on us appropriately. It's no wonder this easygoing bar/resto was packed and lively-wished I live closer or îd frequent the place like V Wolfe frequented the Writing Table (which by the way i'll have to write a review next) back in the days-except my preoccupation would be different for sure!

We were told by many people to be sure and eat at an Indian restaurant when we go to London as they have some of the best Indian food in the world. We are here on holiday with friends and were lucky to get a rezzy for 8 of us. Staff was friendly and we were seated right away. Since there was 8 of us, they gave us the large party menu but obliged us when we asked for the refusal regular menu as wanted more choices . We loved our dishes although the kids found the pork belly and chicken tikka a little spicy. But it wasn't anything that Mango lassi couldn't cure! I recommend the Duck Nigrili Korma, garlic naan, chicken tikka and pork belly. The sauteed greens were Shanghai Choy nicely stir fried. Not all dishes come with rice so be sure to ask.

A lovely meal at this spot in Covent Garden on a Friday evening a month ago! I didn't have reservations which I think are highly recommended considering the small/medium-sized space for seating around 40ish, so I was glad they squeezed me in at one of the two-seater bar tables closer to the entrance. They have a bunch of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten- free options, which I appreciated (shout out to Indian restaurants that have some of the best vegetarian options out there!) After consulting with server on her recommendation, I ordered the samosa chaat (£7.75) and the "Future 50" kofta (£15.50), a side of pilau rice (£4) This was plenty of food for one! I really liked the flavors and heat level of the chaat, a tad spicier than I normally tend to eat, with the yoghurt sauce helping to temper the spice a bit. The kofta (meatballs, but made out of grains and fruit, not meat!) was amazingly tasty. So much that as a moderate meat-eater, they made me actually not miss the meat! The texture, moistness and flavor were top notch, especially the crispy toasted exterior from the quinoa. Thumbs up! I do wish it came with rice instead of having to order it separately. The server was friendly though I had to remind her to bring me a glass of water, I'd recommend this place and would love to come back and try some of their other offerings.

Samosa stuffed with potatoes and peas. To die for.

Great food, love the seasoning and service. Both dishes that I had were superb. The garlic naan is great and the samosa is delicious.

This place was so yummy for High Tea! First off, the whole place is so cutely decorated with all the greens hanging off the ceiling. The tea pots are all painted differently and are very vibrant. The staff was very welcoming when we first arrived. The service was a little slow - we had to remind our waiter about our cocktails which we didn't even get until after we were basically done with our food. The food served at the tea service was delicious. We got two veggie and two meat options (four of us were dinning). The veggie sandwiches were both spicy, yummy, and flavorful. The fish sandwich was my favorite of the meat selection. The watermelon chaat was soooooo good! Unique and hands down my favorite overall. The pani puri has a nice spice to it. The cheesecake was the winner for the whole table.

Fast and flavorful family run restaurant with great price fixe menu pre and post theater. Cute and tastefully decorated. Accommodating servers.

The atmosphere is mind blowing and the food to die for. We struck a prix fixe deal online that included a starter, main, and dessert. The waiter was extremely nice, the service was very fast, the food and drinks really tasty. No complaints here. A must try!

Lovely spot tucked behind the centre of Covent Garden. It was very busy so I definitely making a reservation like we did. The portion sizes were good for lunch and the chicken curry I had was nice. We didn't want to limit ourselves to the set menu so didn't book it ahead, but upon paying we all agreed that it would have been a better option for the price. For example, I believe the set menu was £19 per person and we all ended up paying north of £30 per person for less food. This is my reason for rating 3 stars as I think the price was too much for what we had.

Wow! We eat a good amount of Indian food and this may have been the best Indian food we have ever had! The staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They provided great recommendations and each dish was packed with flavor! They are going for a modern and creative take on bazaar food and we were not disappointed. We really enjoyed the Kashmiri Lamb Shank Rohan Josh, a flavorful mash-up. We dream about the char-grilled duck breast - it was like nothing we had ever tasted before. The double cooked pork belly was also fantastic! The appetizers/small plates were great for sharing and also packed with flavor. We especially enjoyed the Watermelon Chaat and Samosa Chaat. The house daal was the best that we have ever had (did I mention that we eat a lot of Indian food?!?). Last, and certainly not least, we tried the Bollywood Banger - their attempt at the hottest curry (pictured). With Carolina Reaper and ghost peppers spicing this lamb curry, I needed to sign a waiver to try it! Articles suggested that very few people finish it and some people even hallucinate after (hence the waiver). As someone who loves a good spice challenge, I could not resist (make sure to order a mango lassi to help with the spice). Very tasty and definitely a challenge if you are looking for spicy food. We loved the atmosphere, food, and great service!

On our way to Covent Garden and browsing the shops and restaurants along the way. High chai afternoon tea is what caught my attention, so decided to give it a try. Family ordered a bunch of other dishes. Can't remember all the dishes, but the stand outs to them were the pork belly, butter chicken, and samosa chaat. The High Chai started off with watermelon chaat (my fave dish), papdi chaat (had a bit of a kick), and pani puri (always wanted to try this and liked them with the sweet and sour water). Then came the fish finger sandwich which I thought was tasty and chicken spring rolls. Sweets consisted of a pistachio cake with a marshmallow that was more of a merengue consistency, a saffron macaron, and cheesecake. Ordered the White Peony tea which was a bit too light for my liking. The high tea was definitely different. Service was attentive. We didn't feel rushed and we sat a bit longer while it poured outside. Visiting here was an experience.

Do the afternoon tea! For £27.50, you get 3 types of chaat (the watermelon was our favorite by far!), sandwiches, dessert, and tea of your choice. The tea replaced lunch - it was so filling. The service was amazing and the food was very very tasty. Would definitely recommend! As vegetarians, the sandwiches were decent but not amazing. The chaat was definitely the star of the show - would go back just for that!
