Dinah's continues to be my favorite Friend Chicken Establishment for over 30 years. My son is 37 going on 38, and I think he first sampled their satisfying wings and winning side dishes at age three. Even my late mother, who only ate "healthy" fats at age 81, indulged in the fountain of youth that Dinah's provided along with the shared enjoyment which a good meal shared encapsulates. Pineapple coleslaw is a winner! Mashed potatoes & gravy is always solid, but ever since the owner suggested stuffing with cranberry sauce, my Dinah's 2 piece meal (Three wings are granted) feels and tastes like Thanks Giving anytime of the year. The inside of the restaurant is pretty small, but the kitchen is not messing around and my food came out within 5 minutes. Here's thing tho - maybe I got lucky because of the dinner rush that the kitchen is cranking out a ton of food, but my chicken was hot and delicious!! The menu is simple but with plenty of options, my brother and I ordered the Chicken Dinner, which is served all day, it's a 3 piece of chicken, 2 sides, we chose the pineapple coleslaw and mashed potatoes and gravy. The pineapple coleslaw had a lot of flavors the pineapple gave it a nice refreshing taste, a must try. They also offer a chicken drumstick for one dollar, well worth it, it is nice sized. The chicken skin is nice and crispy, not sure how they fry the chicken, but I really appreciated the fact that the chicken was not greasy, the taste of the chicken was amazing. They have a variety of drink options and pies, I counted 8 different pies or so, some from memory are, Cherry, Banana Cream, Pecan, Chocolate Cream, Lemon, Meringue, Blueberry, they looked amazing, we did not have any space for a slice but next time we might prioritize a slice or two. You can also order food to go; I noticed that they have options under their family style menu from a 6 piece to a gigantic 36 piece (giant barrel O'Chicken) for 108.00 bucks. you can also order large 1/2 gallon to a full gallon of sides. Perfectly golden and crispy and so juicy even the breast was juicy ,I ordered a double side of pineapple coleslaw because I remember that was the side to get back in the day and it was still pretty great although the sides of mashed potatoes that kept passing by my table looked dreamy. They looked so Perfectly delicious, I'll have to try them next time. We did dine-in which are individual plates from their all day lunch/all day dinner menu and they have a great deal for dine-in, you can add for $1 a chicken leg to your lunch and add up to two (2) legs to your dinner order for $1each leg. A bucket with two sides, the other being mashed potatoes. The place is smaller than I remember, it's also clean. The person that waited on us was friendly. We ordered for pick up, so little interaction actually transpired. The Chicken was very good, the sizes of the peices were quite substantial as was the price a bit over $56 with door dash. We visited Dinah's Chicken in Glendale with our family and used a Groupon to purchase a family meal, fully intending to sit down and eat in the dining area. After we arrived and sat down, the manager named Olga informed us that we were not allowed to dine in the restaurant with other patrons because we had used a Groupon. When I pointed out that this felt like unfair treatment and discrimination against Groupon customers, she stood by the policy. We no longer felt comfortable or welcome, so we asked for a full refund and left without eating. The entire situation left our family feeling humiliated and disrespected. I understand that businesses may have restrictions on promotional deals, but publicly segregating paying customers based on how they purchased their meal is unacceptable.
