When I learned about Cafe Izzi, I was curious to see how this new cafe would fare compared to the building's previous tenant. My first visit just involved getting a simple coffee beverage, which I thought was fine but not very memorable. However, someone recommended that I try the pastrami sandwich and raved about how good it was. I took their advice and got one of their hot pastrami sandwiches without the cheese. The tender texture of the meat was impressive though I thought the sandwich could have used some more contrast in the flavors (maybe something acidic or a piquant aioli to offset the rich meat). While I took my food to go, there is seating available if you decide to dine on site. read more

Absolutely love Cafe Izzi! I honestly can't decide which sandwich is my favorite--the Italian, Pastrami, or Caprese. They're all so good! The cafe is cute, clean, and convenient, and the authentic Italian-style gelato is a must. It tastes just like the gelato you'd get in Italy, with so many great flavors to choose from. They even accommodated me for an event, which I really appreciated. Definitely one of my favorite local spots! read more

Heard about this place for awhile but it abit far from where I live so finally got an opportunity to visit since going to Hollywood Bowl for a concert and this is about 15mins away. 1st, parking can be street meter parking, or if you lucky they have small 5-6 free spaces behind their shop. Their outdoor patio is cute and overlooking the street. The inside is very black and white and bright too. Very clean and very well organized. The menu is simple and very direct. The staff or the owner are very charming, friendly and helpful. Got helped to get the right 1st pastrami sandwich here plus an Italian sandwich with iced latte and iced caramel coffee. You ordered and pay. You can see how they assemble the sandwich too since it right there nearby the cashier place. Once it down, they bring the foods to your table. They do have inside seating and it's charming and cute little area too. They do come check on you once in awhile so the services here are excellent for small shop. Details of packing and caring are exceptional. The pastrami is just delish, much better than others that I had in LA and most of NY places (yes I had plenty lately). The meats just tendered, juicy, sweet tasty per my kid's pov, and well thick cut. Simple delicious - I wish I didn't have to share my 1/2 to my kid. The Italian sandwich is also well packed and well mixed of the cold meats...simply yummy and refreshing with the veggies. The coffees are good too, nothing special but just right with the foods. Overall, perfect place for the pastrami and I am totally highly recommended. Just wish that the shop is closer to my place. Will come back for more when in this side of LA. read more

My god, this place delivered! Went here on a whim for lunch, because it was close to the house. The staff was great and friendly! The inside reminded me of an old style deli/cafe, which was awesome. Great sandwiches! The pastrami is hand-cut, so you may have to wait a while. We ordered two pastrami sandwiches with cole slaw. They are big enough for us to share one. The staff is friendly. There is limited indoor and outdoor seating. Street parking. We will definitely be back. read more

Saw Cafe Izzi all over TikTok for having one of the best pastramis around my area, so naturally I had to see if the hype was real. We ordered the hot pastrami star and wow... every bite was packed with flavor. The pastrami was incredible, layered in bread that was crispy on the outside but still soft inside. We also tried the mortadella sandwich Persian style and you can really taste the quality of their cold cuts. The fresh herbs tied everything together so well. I also tried their brown sugar latte. Flavor was good but I personally like my coffee stronger and this one tasted a little watered down for me. The food was great, the cafe itself is super cute and cozy, but what really made this a 5-star experience was the hospitality. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, and they even boxed up our leftovers for us. Definitely bringing my kid next time so we can try their gelato. read more

Spotted this cafe on my way to the freeway entrance and stopped by to check it out. It's a cute little cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating. They serve mortadella and pastrami sandwiches which looked amazing. I have to come back and try one. I ordered a cold brew coffee which tasted great. I took it black with no milk or sweetener, the taste was amazing. They also make gelato on site so I gotta try that as well. Will update my review once I come back. I was patiently awaiting their opening since I live in the neighborhood. Finally had a chance to stop by this past week for the first time. This place definitely did not disappoint. The shop is very cute and cozy, and the menu is pretty simple. We came here to try the pastrami sandwich and the Persian mortadella sandwich. The staff were super nice, and we had our food in less than 10 minutes. I've had my share of mortadella sandwiches in my life, and this version was one of the best I've had! This will become a regular in my rotation. Also, the pastrami sandwich was delicious, it melts in your mouth. There are a lot of places serving pastrami nowadays, and these guys are one of the top contenders. I'm glad this is very local to me, and I can stop by anytime I want. read more

Absolutely delicious pastrami and wonderful staff. I believe this business recently opened and they're still figuring out their payment processing system. As of today, they have a website up but they recommend that you call ahead if you wanted to place an order. Not sure it's all connected to their back hand yet. We tried the spicy pastrami and the regular pastrami sandwiches. Both were delicious! The bread was fresh had a crisp bite but was also soft! Just like the bread you find in Louisiana in shrimp po boy sandwiches. The sandwiches were stuffed! Refreshing now a days, when other restaurants reduce quantity. Two people can easily share one. A great little corner cafe on Los Feliz blvd. Nicely designed with a modern open kitchen. Turkey n avocado on rustic bread with nice trimming was huge and tasty. The pastrami meat was amazing, it was juicy, soft, moist, flavorful and when it was in the sandwich it never fell apart, it did get lost in the other flavors of the Star sandwich sometimes which were just as good but out of the handful of pastrami I have eaten this would make the top 10 for sure. read more

I got the Italian (incredibly good) and my husband got the pastrami slaw (unbelievably good.) If you're looking for the euro summer vibe, they have it. Very cute patio. House made gelato. The freshest most delicious sandwiches and we were greeted by the most lovely staff, two hard working gentlemen in the back. Cafe Izzi has the best hot pastrami sandwich I've ever had, without a doubt . I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and whenever I'm in Los Angeles, I make it a point to come here just for this sandwich. This is for sure - my favorite sandwich cafe. Everything is quality: the bread, the toppings AND THE MEATS! You can't get any Pastrami or French Dip (plus with decent prices) like this anywhere! Wow! Went today with my wife. Split the Italian & Pastrami Slaw. Both great. The Pastrami Slaw is not only the best pastrami sandwich you'll ever try, but it's probably the best sandwich ever! We walked up the street to café IZZI while babysitting our grandson and looking for food. How incredible to discover a great hot pastrami sandwich on a crunchy Italian hero a block away. It's possibly better than Brents or Langers and if you're anywhere East of Beverly Hills and crave pastrami it's worth the trip. They also have a range of cold cut sandwiches that people came in to order and most seemed like repeat customers. I wish I had taken a picture of my sandwich, but I ate it before I could think of that! BTW the lady behind the counter was helpful and friendly and the owner came over to introduce himself. This is a family business with delicious food. We'll be back! Should I tell his parents I feed their beautiful 1 year old son bits of pastrami? He loved it. read more

Cafe Izzi is the new gem in Atwater. First, the woman who took our order was fantastic, super friendly and very knowledgable of the food. She could have been one of the owners, not sure, but she was great. We had two sandwiches, the Pastrami with everything (I don't remember the name, but it was the one with peppers), and the Caprisi. I'm usually not a huge Caprisi fan, but boy was this insanely good. Believe the hype about the Pastrami, it's THAT good. The ambiance was really sweet, kinda reminds me of a French Bistro. Very clean, and inviting. After our meal, she gave us a tasting of their house-made Gelato. I haven't had any that good since I was in Florence. It was so smooth and full of flavor. I recommend this little spot to anyone who wants a delicious sammy, they're just that good. read more

What can I say but I had the most delicious hot roast beef sandwich from IZZI! I love that they provided aus jus and a horseradish sauce , it just added to the sandwich making it a delicious meal. The roast beef was so tender it just melt in my mouth and combined with the delicious bread. Next time I order I'm going to have a hard time to decide between their pastrami, Italian or hot roast beef sandwiches, they are all amazing: And don't forget to get their potato salad.... This place is the real deal when it comes to pastrami. They are right up there with Langers and Daughters deli. The Reuben sandwich was very tasty, not to mention the pastrami with cole slaw, was a mouthwatering sandwich on a roll. They also make homemade gelato. Friendly staff and excellent chief. I got their pastrami sandwich. It was really good. Not too salty. With the toppings added, the flavor of pastrami came through and complimented each other. They are using tasty bread. Also, I have got to mention this. The person making sandwiches meticulous he looked like he was working on a piece of art. So glad to have found this new LA hidden gem. A nice additional to the Los Feliz area. Got their pastrami sandwich and must say...YUM. Stopped by this sandwich spot recently and the pastrami sandwich was incredible. The meat was super tender, packed with flavor, and piled on generously. You can tell the quality is there from the first bite. The bread was fresh and held everything together perfectly without getting soggy. What really stood out was how well balanced the sandwich was -- nothing overpowering, just really good ingredients done right. This place is a real gem. The atmosphere has a beautiful Paris-style café vibe -- clean, cozy, and welcoming. The pastrami sandwich is out of this world -- 10/10. Not typical deli pastrami, but real steamed pastrami, tender and full of flavor. We also tried the turkey avocado sandwich, which was excellent. I can't stop thinking about this sandwich cafe. The sandwiches were incredible -- fresh, flavorful, and honestly some of the best I've had in a long time. This "sandwich speakeasy" is tucked in the back room of a Highland Park liquor store, but the ambitious deli lineup includes some of the city's best sandwiches. Outside, you'll see a worn neon sign reading "Coldest Beer in Town". Walk through the slightly worn beverage displays, past stacked cases of Liquid Death, industrial fridges of local IPAs, and ceiling-high shelves of liquor and spirits, to the cramped sandwich operation in the back. A letterboard menu is organized on the off-white plaster wall, underneath a neon sign depicting the red cartoon table logo. Additional sandwich specials are doodled onto a tiny chalkboard behind the checkout counter. Maroon metal patio furniture is organized underneath sweeping umbrellas along the muraled brick exterior out front. The best of the sandwiches are total bops. The "Jeff's Special" Reuben features the perfect ratio of uber-rich cheese, melt-in-your-mouth pastrami, and panini-pressed rye; I only wish the meat itself packed some more seasoning. The Dirty Baby was just as satisfying. The decadent one-two punch of gouda and turkey salad more closely resembled a hearty bolognese than a deli sandwich. The thick-cut challah admirably withstood the 20-minute drive home. Other items were less memorable. The Hainan-Style Turkey Salad was slapped onto a dull hamburger bun-esque roll. While I enjoyed the diverse crispy textures, from the fried garlic to the arugula to the cucumber, the turkey salad itself was mostly flavorless. Similarly, the Thai Peanut Mac Salad was exciting in texture but plain in taste -- the celery was more prominent than the green curry aioli. The service was extra friendly, and the sandwiches run $15-16 each, relatively affordable by LA standards. While some of the sandwiches could compete for the title of best in LA, other dishes were duds. I won't go out of my way to schedule a visit during Jeff's Table's limited lunch hours, but I would certainly pay them a return visit if I'm already in the neighborhood.
