WOW!!! I had finished with an appointment around the corner and I was hungry so I peeked at Yelp to see what is near by and I came across Nickos Sandwiches only 0.2 miles away! I drove for a few seconds around the corner and parked on the street and walked over to the Verdugo Dairy lot which is where the Nickos Sandwich Truck is located. The truck is so cute and small and fits perfectly in the lot without taking up too much space. I looked at the menu and honestly all the sandwiches looked so good that it was hard to just choose one, but I wanted breakfast so I went with the Plain Breakfast Sandwich. I was asked how I want my egg cooked and I chose sunny side up. Options for cheese were swiss or provolone and I couldn't decide and I was able to get a slice of both on my sandwich! I also ordered a bread pudding on the side. After ordering I was given a little buzzer that would go off when my food is ready. I hung out and didn't wait too long until my buzzer went off and it was a nice loud beeping that would be easy to hear if I had left it in my pocket. After the food is ready then you pay. When I went back to my car and I couldn't help myself I ripped open the bag and I was in awe of my sandwich. Look at my photos, do you see that melty stretch of cheese that is so perfect??????????? The brioche bun is soft and fluffy, the egg seasoned with salt and pepper perfectly and cooked to perfection, and the cheese is stretchy and gooey and so delicious. Was I licking the wrapper when I was done? Maybe! If I could give more than 5 stars for my sandwich I would! I love me a banana pudding and I thought I was going to wait to eat it at home, however I could not control myself I popped it open and I gobbled it down. So creamy and delicious with just the right amount of crumbled nilla wafers. I am not in Glendale too often, but you can bet that when I am, I'll be stopping by again! First bite to the last, the meal was delicious. We got a couple of hot sandwiches. A Pastrami and a Philly Cheesesteak which they recommended. It was unbelievable how good the sandwiches were. The rolls were warm and crispy, and the flavors were well balanced. The Pastrami had a brilliant balance between the mustard and pickle. The Philly Cheesesteak had the same brilliant balance with the meat and cheese that was in every bite. I was torn between the two great sandwiches. I'd have to say that this place has become, so far, my favorite spot for a Philly Cheesesteak and Pastrami. This place is a must return kind of place for me to stop by for a bite (even when I'm not hungry), and I can't wait to recommend or bring people here. I was feeling like having a cold deli sandwich today and found Nicko's Sandwiches on Yelp. What a find! You can park in the lot at Verdugo Dairy, where this food truck resides. The bread was fresh and just the right thickness to hold it together without being too much. It had a little crunch, without your bite not squeezing the contents out. I have been wanting to try the sandwiches from Nickos truck and finally I got to today while in the area. There are a few sandwiches on the menu but I got the Nikos favorite. It was so delicious, made with freshly baked bread loaded with mortadella salami prosciutto pistachio pesto tomatoes olives mozzarella arugula balsamic. So so good. It's a flavor bomb in your mouth. Interestingly enough, I've never been to Nicko's. A friend on the west side told my wife she was bringing over the best sandwich ever and we had Nickos favorite dropped off for us 40 minutes later. Now considering this was made in a food truck, driven 40 minutes, and sat in a bag smelling up the foyer while we exchanged pleasantries and gifts, it's pretty incredible that this still ended being my wife's favorite cold cut sandwich period. I can't say anything about service or ambiance since I've never seen this mythical truck, but the sandwich is fantastic. So quick thoughts... Nickos Favorite - Really well balanced sandwich that's tastes really fresh for a deli meat sandwich. My wife says it reminds her of a Caprese in sandwich form, and the combination of pesto, ricotta, mayo and balsamic combine perfectly. The meat is much less salty than I would expect of deli meats in general and it works with the other ingredients. Both of us loved the bread. Thin, crispy, works really well here. The pistachio shavings were also a great touch. Now the prices may not look cheap, but they actually give you a lot of sandwich. The picture i took here is only half of the order since my wife destroyed the other half while making happy noises. We're actively looking for excuses to begin the area now so i can try new things and she can keep eating this one. Definitely worth a try if you haven't already. read more

Wow! This place is legit and deserves the almost perfect star rating. Nickos Sandwiches is a food truck located in a liquor store parking lot. I'm not sure if you can park where the liquor store is but we parked on the street! We decided to share a Philly roll and Nicko's favorite. We decided on one sandwich off the cold and one off the hot sandwiches section. We received the Philly first and it was terrific! I wanted to gobble the whole thing. I love the bread, meats, veggies, and cheese in this sandwich. It was great but didn't feel heavy like other Philly sandwiches. The meat they used was ribeye and the cheese melted well with it. Next, I took a couple of bites of the Nicko, it felt more on the lighter side and refreshing after the Philly! There was a lot going on but I like it. The bread wasn't thick and the ratio of ingredients was the right amount. This sandwich was big! I also love that they wrap the sandwich in two so it was perfect to share. Note: I would call and put in your order because we were quoted 20-30 minutes wait but it was only around 10-15 minutes. Ok, so the last 3 times I have been here to Nickos have been fairly disappointing. I ordered a chopped(now off the menu) and the roll that it was made on was toasted so much that it tasted stale. When I went back again thinking it was a fluke I got The Philly and specifically asked for the roll not to be toasted because of my previous experience. When I got my order he told me here's you Philly lightly toasted.... I was just confused and again disappointed but I took my sandwich. Nicko wasn't there for those 2 time and had been every other time, but Nicko treated so well and was so nice I decided to try one more time today. Nicko was there today, and I tried to say something about this, but it was busy and it just felt brushed off. I figured I'd get the Nickos Special since it has always been good. When I got home and opened the sandwich and it just seemed so sloppy, the arugula falling out everywhere way too many olives, and it seemed like it was a slice or 2 short on mortadella. I could have sworn that they used to use stracciatella instead even though mozzarella and ricotta were on the menu which was amazing(maybe I just got lucky a few times in the beginning). There are very few food trucks that I've been to in LA. This is a good sandwich place that offers a handful of hot/cold options with sides. This location is a food truck with parking located around the corner where it's stationed at. It's a very casual place but the quality of sandwiches is top-notch. I ordered the Veggie Sandwich ($13) and the Bourdain's Favorite ($19). I appreciate the soft texture of the brioche bun with the simple aspects of melted provolone cheese and griddled mortadella. I just got in town from Texas and needed sustenance because I hadn't eaten much all day. I googled restaurants near me and this sandwich truck came up. The flavors all work together beautifully and I've never had a sandwich with this style of flat bread. I wanted to try the Niko's lemonade but they sold out. So I'll have to remember to go back the next time I'm visiting. Ambiance is to be expected. It's quiet but on the corner of verdugo and Wilson (I believe) so the only noise you'll get is cars passing by. 10/10 recommend. The had quite a few great looking sandwiches. I got the Turkey Pesto and Nick's. Both of the sandwiches were phenomenal. I could not decide which I enjoyed more. The focaccia was nice and thin and crispy, so as not to overload the rest of the sandwich. The balance between creamy sauce, juicy meat, crunchy arugula, and vinegary peppers, olives, and balsamic vinegar was perfect! The pesto was particularly delicious. I will say that the sandwiches are HUGE. One sandwich is plenty for two people, in fact they are given to you wrapped in two piece per order. Considering that they are so big, the price is actually not bad. I also got the banana pudding which was fluffy and light with a delicious vanilla and banana flavor. It reminded me of a sort of whipped cream texture that I had not had in banana pudding before but will surely crave from now on! The customer service was great. Nickos favorite has a green sauce and a heavy douse of balsamic and the acidity isn't cut anywhere in this sandwich. The stacking of the ingredients are also in an odd arrangement and the moisture from the mozzarella just makes all of the other material lose focus.
