The food was delicious. The prices were pretty good. I love fresh made pasta and the House made Italian sausage and meatballs were amazeballs! The staff was friendly and the restaurant has a very family vibe to it. read more

I chose DiFrancos due to my pregnant cravings telling me this was a MUST have ASAP lol. The ambience of DiFranco's is nice. The gentleman working the counter was very kind and knowledgeable. The food was meh and really pricey. I ordered the Alfredo which is only served on their winter menu. The Alfredo was $15 and some change plus a $3 tip came out to $20, no drink. I thought that was much for a place I'm not getting waited on other then dropping my food off. The sauce was pretty watery and a little bland- definitely lackluster and not packing that "Omg... wow I'll take a plate to go!" I was looking for. I ordered a chicken parm sandwich to go for my boyfriend and was told they were out of baguettes so ciabatta will be the substitute. $12 sandwich that was maybe the size of my palm. I wish i took a photo! Needless to say, he was pretty disappointed with it. I took a bite as well and it was flavorless and boring. I'm going to second everyone's review who said they don't understand the hype. 2 stars for the ambience and kindness of the staff. 1 star for the food being fresh! I won't be back, but happy I at least tried it. read more

This place is the bomb. Charlie always gives the best recommendations and greets us with the warmest welcome. The seasonal menus always include the most delicious homemade pastas and on top of it all, they have an awesome Wednesday night date night special! If you haven't yet, you have to try these guys out! read more

This spot was amazing. Great atmosphere, amazing food and good service. This will absolutely be my spot from now on!

I was very excited to try the pasta at DiFranco's after reading the reviews on it. However, when it arrived, I was very disappointed. The pasta seemed old and it stuck together as I attempted to eat it. I was not impressed by the sauce or meatball either, they were both overly sweet. The only good part of the meal was the garlic bread. In short - I was very disappointed, especially for what I paid for it. read more

Excellent freshly made pasta and pastries. I love their lemon ricotta cookies! Great low key place to grab dinner or lunch. Bring your own child's seat if you come with kids as they don't have them but they are very kid friendly otherwise. :) read more

I always have a great experience at DiFranco's. I live nearby and I usually get takeout. My food is always exactly the way I order it. Tonight though, they outdid themselves with the butternut squash ravioli. Incredibly flavorful and creamy, paired with the most tender pork (shoulder, I think). Every employee I interact with is helpful, pleasant, and knowledgeable, especially Charlie and Ryan. read more

I've eaten here many times but tonight we ordered takeout and had a rather disappointing experience. First our food was placed sideways in the bag which led to the sauce for our eggplant Parmesan slowly leaking out onto my wife's jacket, which we only realized upon getting home. I thought it was a little odd when I picked up our order that the bag was laying on its side on the countertop, but looking back now I see why. My question is why would someone do that? Most normal people would carry the bag upright, not on its side. The eggplant Parmesan was also tough and chewy and undercooked, not the melt in your mouth quality that I look for. We've had many good experiences here in the past (hence the extra star) but tonight was our first truly bad experience, and we definitely won't be getting the eggplant Parmesan in the future. read more

I don't have the opportunity to frequent DiFranco's, I wish I lived a little closer. When I am fortunate enough to visit it is usually because I have an appointment for a massage next door. My point in telling you this is I usually order something light. I have been pleasantly surprised every time I am there. One of my favorites was the Beet and Goat Cheese Salad (yum)...seasonal. Yesterday I had Eggplant Parmesiana, unbelievably amazing! The sauce is the best I have ever enjoyed. With a side of garlic bread it was memorable. I do wish it had a bit more ambiance, it feels like a fast food restaurant. The staff are polite and accommodating, they truly care.. I want to go back again soon and try everything. Maybe I will try takeout.. This is real Italian! read more

DiFranco's is quickly becoming a favorite of the Milkman and mine. He even gets jealous if I go without him (and vice versa)! Everything I have had here is good. The salads are fresh, and even the little side salad is delightful. I've had each of their sandwiches at this point, and I honestly can't pick a favorite. I LOVE their seasonal ravioli dishes. The current menu features a beet ravioli, which is divine. Just a hint of lemon, some goat cheese, and fresh arugula. One of the things I love best is the service. Lisa always greets us with a smile, and she knows my boyfriend and I at this point because we're always eating late and always missing out on whatever delicacy has run out for the evening (a sign that their food is super fresh, btw). She was internally rooting for us when she saw that we were in line and there was ONE spring agniolotti left and told us she was hoping no one else would order it before us. She also suggested an upcoming tasting evening for us so that we could try everything on the menu. Their wednesday night date night is a killer deal. You get two side salads, two entrees, a bottle of wine, and two cannoli for $40. You seriously can't beat that anywhere. Especially the quality of food. I just found out they now take open table reservations, and I'm looking forward to taking my Boulder girlfriends there on Friday night. Thanks for making every dining experience so fantastic! read more

Girlfriend and I had DiFranco's for the first time the other night. We had the Italian field green salad, carbonara, and the alfredo. Everything was very good. The dressing on the salad was very simple and light but tasted great. The carbonara had a ton of flavor and was my favorite. I'm usually not big on alredos, but theirs was very good. The portion sizes are very reasonable and were filling. Everything tasted very clean and authentic. The wait staff and kitchen staff were both very friendly. read more

Thank you DiFranco's for reviving my taste for Italian food. You see, I haven't been to a decent Italian restaurant in decades. Its been so long, I have been quoted as saying "I loathe Italian food" and "ugh, it all tastes like Olive Garden." Until tonight... hallelujah! What a great meal... so fresh, so local, so prepared with care. I never knew Italian food could have so much depth. I had the ravioli which apparently changes every week or so. This week was goat cheese with arugula, walnuts, and somehow a little citrus. You could tell the pasta was made fresh and the olive oil was very high quality. Oh my, it was great! Also, the heirloom salad (tomato, basil, mozzarella, balsamic, onion) was so delicious and fresh. With an Italian sausage as a side dish, it was truly a very good meal. And not too pricey either! I have paid a lot more for way inferior food, Italian or otherwise. We missed out on the nutella gelato because they sold out (I heard it is killer), but next time for sure. So here is the kicker... happy hour all day Monday, and a Wednesday date night special which gets you salads, entrees, cannolis, & a bottle of wine for $40! Really? So cheap! Ok, I seriously need to find a date right meow... Quick tip... street parking is free after 6pm on Lincoln, and if there are no spots, turn into the parking garage just before DiFranco's entrance for free parking anytime. read more

Not sure what the hype is all about. We are in town from California for a work conference reason. We utilized Yelp to find best homemade Italian food/ Alfredo. I wanted Alfredo and my yelp search led me to DiFranco's. Unfortunately they did not have Alfredo, so I went for the spaghetti and meatballs, bad idea...... If you like sweet spaghetti sauce that tastes like SpaghettiOs, or a flavor very close to ketchup with a bit of a spicy kick, then this is the place for you. Nothing authentic or even close to what can be considered real Italian sauce here. read more

DiFrancos is that sexy ex-girlfriend that you keep hooking up with and than you start to remember why it wasn't all that great to begin with. I keep giving this place a chance and have yet to come away feeling good about it. On my last experience I paid way too much for a much too small and not hot meatball sandwich.. I've had a few pastas here and there but still nothing spectacular.. Maybe I'll wise up and erase their number. Or maybe I'll keep getting roped back in.. read more

Just look at the picture of the "beef" sandwich. Takes me back to the theme "where's the beef"? Would not recommend delivery at all. Maybe you get beef when you dine in but I am not taking the gamble. read more

I stuck upon this gem while searching for home delivery & what a found !!!!! we ordered butternut squash ravioli with meatball side & cannoli . the food was super delicious !!! No hint of extra cheese but a creamy smooth texture . meatball is the best one we ever had . Definitely a must go for foodies !!! read more

This restaurant is fantastic. My husband planned a date night for us and we stopped here for a drink with our Denver Passport and dinner. I had the spaghetti and he had the meatball sub... both were so good, we didn't even want to share with each other because we wanted them all to ourselves, ha. The spaghetti is handmade and the meatballs were some of the best I've ever had. We finished our meal with the ricotta cookies which were also delicious. We will absolutely be back! read more

Second time here in two days. We are from New Orleans and love food. My fiancé said it was the best meatballs he has ever had. The ravioli was fantastic. Handmade pasta. read more

Finally some pasta that is good in Denver! The place itself is very small and include a communal table and some smaller table. No hole in the wall by any means though! Had the penne vodka. The sauce was perfect and pasta al dente. I also had the naked chicken which paired perfectly. I finished off with the lemon ricotta which I highly recommend. Soft and just the perfect amount of sweetness! read more

I've lived a block away for almost 3 years--so I thought I'd give this place a try. It's a nice spot and the staff was very friendly but I was a little disappointed in the food. I ordered the pesto chicken sandwich and it tasted ok but it was mostly bread and not very filling. For $12 I expected a little more. read more

We took advantage of Denver's Restaurant week last night and chose DiFranco's based on it's ratings. Food was both delicious and beautiful. Atmosphere was vibrant, unique and new age. Service was the best I have ever had, hands down. Our courses consisted of: -Wine: one bottle of Barbera San Silvestro -Starter: Mushroom Polenta -Dinner: I had Duck Raviolo, my husband had the Chicken Parmesan -Dessert: I had Marscarpone Cheesecake and my husband had the Nutella Gelato We WILL be back. read more

This place is where you want to go if you want to have authentic spaghetti! The food came out very fast and super fresh too. I didn't get to try their desert but they have a variety of selection for yummy deserts as well. I will definitely go back there whenever I crave some yummy spaghetti because I can easily say their spaghetti is the best spaghetti in Denver!! read more

Don't eat here. Food is horrible and doesn't taste Italian at all. Pasta was so soggy, the sauce was so unItalian and the price was unreasonably high. read more

Iy yi yi that vodka sauce was GOOD! And so was the wine....and the champagne....and the truffles. It was all great. Just writing this review is making me hungry, good thing I'm walking distance to DiFranco's. Twas also nice to meet some fellow gold badgers. Thanks Yelp! read more

This place was awesome!! My wife and I ate here while vacationing in Denver. The homemade pasta, meatballs amazing, antipasti app was so good. Can't say enough good things about it other than you're missing out if you don't check it out. read more

The food is amazing each time I've eaten here. It is down the street from me and I liked that it was a take out place with great quality and authentic food with great class. Even though I had take out, the quality was still amazing. I'm glad I'm just a few blocks away! Definitely will be a repeat customer from now on. read more

This is probably the best Italian food I have had in a long time. I had the stuffed shells and my friend ordered the corn ravioli. I could eat here every week. Definitely worth a try. read more

DiFranco's did not disappoint. The pasta tastes like it is home made, the sausage is delicious and I could eat the sweet corn ravioli every day twice. The homemade lemonade is also a menu item not to miss. Looking forward to my next trip! read more

Good fresh made pasta and they have an excellent marinara. I love that they try to serve fresh local and organic items. What I dont like is still feeling hungry after a meal. Once again Ive been stung by ordering ravioli. The portions here were not as skimpy as Spuntinos but we had to order an additional salad and eat half of a meatball sandwich to feel full. We are not pigs, I swear! Also, we ordered both the beet and goat cheese and the seasonal butternut squash raviolis and the overwhelming spice of both was nutmeg. Too sweet! I'm increasing my rating of 3 stars to 4 stars because the restaurant's owner has replied and appears sincere about taking steps to improve. read more

Sign said "Best Italian Restaurant in Denver 2013" so we had to give it a shot. Don't be fooled by the small seating area small kitchen - somehow big flavors come out of it! Their Alfredo sauce was delicious and full of flavor and I got the Parmesan crusted chicken as a side. I like supporting restaurants that support local organic farmers and the freshness definitely comes through in the food. read more

Stopped in here with a girlfriend for a glass of wine and the owner Ryan brought us out the house burrata to try...there are no words! Would absolutely recommend this place for a quick drink and snack in the Capitol Hill area. I can't wait to go back! read more

This is a great small shop for a quick bite for lunch. If you plan on driving here, make sure to ask about the free parking. We paid at a meter, then saw a sign at the door that there is free parking available. When you get inside the restaurant, you order first at the counter then seat yourself. It's a fast casual type of restaurant. I saw on the yelp reviews that there were seafood options, but unfortunately those are out of season at the moment. So I settled with the potato gnocchi. The sauce it comes with has meat in it, so I requested the basil pesto sauce instead. I was glad I did too because the sauce wasn't as heavy as the creamier sauces they offer. For $15.5, the price was kind of steep for a lunch, considering the medium portion size and only getting a slice of bread to go with the pasta. Maybe if it came with a side or a side salad, the price would be better for lunch. However, the flavor was delicious, and I believe the gnocchi is made in house. read more

Wow. This place warms your soul as soon as you walk in. I came here for dinner to carb load for my half marathon the next morning and I had the Penne with prosciutto vodka sauce. It was DELICIOUS! I was tempted to get a second serving. Ryan, the owner of this fabulous place, truly shows that he commits his heart and soul to this work of art. I am proud of the progression of a this successful place and I CANNOT wait to eat here again when I am visiting from LA. Bravo, diFrancos and encore, Ryan! read more

I'm not from Denver, but I have a feeling this place is a hidden gem. Went for lunch before hitting up the museum campus. Staff was incredibly friendly & the food was DELICIOUS! I had the arugula salad with chicken; my lunch mate had spaghetti & meatballs. Everything was very fresh. Pasta is made in house daily & the garlic bread was the best we've ever had (warning: must love garlic). Definitely recommend this place! read more

Wanted to find a quick Italian bite to eat one evening that wasn't too fancy and had parking. This was the place! Seating is fairly limited, but since it was a weekday, we were in luck and got the remaining table. Two of us ordered the Sweet Fresh Corn Ravioli, and it did not disappoint. The braised beef, raviolis, and pine nuts and corn created a really great texture. The last ordered a braised beef sandwich, and the balsamic jus was delicious. read more

What can I say other than Ryan's pasta sauce is to die for and his care for customers is unreal. I won't get into how he took care of me when my delivery order was not delivered but let's just say he went beyond the imagination to make it correct. DiFranco's is the best! read more

Small, locally owned, locally sourced fresh italian! Walking in I feel like I've walked into a fresh neighborhood NYC deli/shop and makes me miss home. Shared two of the subs (meatball sub and the buffalo mozz sub) both were great. Meatballs were amazing. Can't wait to come back to try the fresh pasta and chicken parm. read more

I bought fresh pasta from DiFranco's for the first time recently & was a) shocked by how much they charged & b) disappointed in the final product. They charged for the pasta as if it were a full meal they cooked & served with black truffles, or something along those lines. Not just uncooked pasta. I bought it for my husband's birthday dinner. I'd made a bolognese sauce & wanted to compliment it with a great fresh pasta to go with it. We cooked it as instructed & most of the pasta clumped together into a horrible mess. We had family & friends together & I was so embarrassed. For all the money it cost, we wound up throwing most of it out & we ate the leftover sauce with De Cecco pasta which was fine. I order ravioli from a place in Brooklyn, NY & even with shipping, pay Much less than the pasta I just bought. Very disappointing. read more
