This is my second visit here. I'm visit here from TN my favorite is the Parm Chick, Watermelon Salad, and the garlic bread ~~~I love garlic and so do DiFranco's. I'm sure I'll eat here at least one more time before heading back. Clean and courtesy staff. read more

I ordered food from here and was extremely disappointed when it arrived. The quantity of food provided (I got the butternut squash ravioli) was next to nothing. While it tasted good, I expected much more than the 5 bites I received for what the dish costs. read more

We tried the remainder of the vodka Prosciutto sauce tonight with our own homemade pasta. This time we added some tomatoes and basil, boiled it down some, and I must say it was delicious. That does not change our previous bad experience at the restaurant, but I do want to amend my previous "Meh" rating. read more

Let's talk about their shells and cheese and garlic bread. Cause they really stole the show!! I'm also crazy and don't typically like spaghetti and meatballs but I think DiFranco's has changed my mind!! Great service and delicious flavors! read more

Quite honestly, one of the best meals I've had in Denver. We chose the night's special, pumpkin-pappardelle noodles tossed with a truly remarkable Bolognese sauce that had obviously simmered for hours. I told the woman I needed a vegetable as well and she said they'd started doing something special with the leftover broccoli they had from making pasta Alfredo: It was sauteed with olive oil, crushed red pepper, lots of garlic and some sort of hard grated cheese -- delicious! Vibrant green and al dente. Server/cashier was incredibly friendly and helpful, and, when we left, the two chefs from the open-air kitchen waved to us and yelled "thank you!". My only recommendation for change would be to fancy it up a bit for night-time dining. The place feels like a McDonalds, very informal and somewhat sterile -- and that's fine for lunch -- but I wanted more of a destination feeling for an evening meal. read more

Yum! This is by far the best eggplant I've ever had. The spaghetti is expensive but worth it it your looking for as good sauce with lots of flavor. This place is as close you're going to get to Italy in Denver. I highly recommend this place for the authenticity. The service was quick and friendly. read more

I've been here twice now and love this place! The pasta dishes are to die for and everyone who works here is so friendly. I love that it's a casual, counter service restaurant that produces such high quality food. Perfect portion sizes too. Check out the "date night" special on Wednesdays: 2 salads, 2 entrees, 2 cannolis and a bottle of wine for $50. Can't beat that! I hope to try some of their sandwiches sometime, but the pasta is just too good to pass up. read more

DiFranco's food was very good but I felt a little nickle and dimed during my catering transaction with them. I voiced my concerns and they were able to make some changes that I was happy with. We ordered about $500 worth of food for a party for delivery but the gratuity for this order was going to be $100. Typically you don't pay full gratuity on a take out order and when you do, you pay it to the driver. They use postmates delivery service so we did tip on top of the delivery fee. I have worked with dozens of caterers over the years and have never heard that. I would suggest to them to roll this into your prices if you think it's valid to charge this. Fortunately when I voiced my concerns they took this into consideration and we were able to come to an agreement. I was very pleased with the food for our company party and will gladly recommend them to anyone looking for great italian food. They do a great job from their meatballs to their canolis. read more

Amazing. i love the vibe here. you go up and pick what pasta, sauce and add ons you want. it is better than a lot of pastas that I've had a sit down restaurants. It was quick and easy and I loved it read more

I do not recommend the Prosciutto Vodka Penne. Boxed noodles with barely any sauce... and the sauce was lackluster because it was watery and bland with tiny bits of prosciutto and a few bits of tomato. If I had been dining in the restaurant (I got it delivered through the Yelp app), I would've sent it back. read more

Fettuccine with vodka sauce-Excellent Spagetti with meatball-Excellent Bread and Garlic Bread-Excellent It has been over a year since I've had pasta dishes that good! Fresh pasta, rich authentic flavor, will try and eat there again before we leave Denver. Another review mentioned small serving sizes for the prices, but honestly, it was probably more than an actual serving size is supposed to be. I still had some left over. In Italy they give you quality over quantity, and that is exactly what you get here! read more

I come from a small Italian town back East and always feel let down by the lack of good Italian options in Denver. DiFranco's manages to bring down-home Italian flavor to their dishes, but also elevates traditional recipes into something contemporary. They've hit the nail on the head! read more

I love this place. I can't wait to go back. I met some friends for dinner a few fridays ago. I love the order at the counter. It's quick, you can all pay separately and I'm sure it'll help this place stay in business by being able to keep their costs down. Little advice, if you are going to have more than one glass of wine, have them ring you up for 2. It'll prevent you from having to run our card again. I have the penne with vodka sauce. Delicious. Everyone got something different and every really enjoyed it. I love how they have the grandmother's picture hanging on the wall in a bathing suit. Reminds me of a photo I have of my Italian granny. Finished off the meal with an assortment of cookies and a canolli. Delicious. read more

Very high quality food, delicious and fresh. The red sauce is very tasty and the stuffed shells are so good, do not pass them up. Good customer service and the pepperoni is great as well. Will be coming back soon read more

I was really excited to finally try DiFranco's because I drive by it every day. The homemade penne was good and I enjoyed the option for side salad instead of chips. We got the chicken parm sandwich, and as others have mentioned, it is not the sauce many of us are used to. Unfortunately it wasn't for my taste, but it seems others on yelp love it. We also got the penne vodka and prosciutto. I think we hit this dish on a bad day. the sauce was incredibly watery so the penne barely picked up any of it. We also made a game of finding the pieces of prosciutto- we found three. They were pretty busy at lunch time, so again, maybe just a bad day. read more

Went there on online recommendations but was disappointed. Ordered a pumpkin gnocchi in a bolognese ragu. Seriously they used pork sausage meat instead of beef, pork combo. This should be a delicate and sumptuous sauce but it was just not good. The dish fell apart. The beet arugula salad was very good. But if the pasta sauce isn't good, I won't go back. Nice staff. Fast. read more

This places makes (almost!) All of their own pastas (and probably sauces). They are very fairly priced and delicious! We came here on a whim with our Dining Out Passbook, and were not disappointed. The staff is friendly, the food is amazing, we will be back. read more

Meatball sub, spaghetti, homemade chips, everything here is amazing especially their season desserts! Yummmy

Terrific chicken parm and the most amazing burrata with fresh pesto delivered in the comfort of your home, what a treat!

Old school flavor, New World feel... Had a great Lunch today! Great hip location with ample street parking available. Food was amazing, I ordered the spaghetti with one meatball and one Italian sausage. They were both stellar and I really loved the red sauce. Also had the Italian field greens salad and it was light and exceptional. We'll be back! read more

This place amazed me, since I walked in, the restaurant felt like home. Nice and cozy, not too quiet and not too loud, just perfect. Very nice staff, and love the way you order food. Not classy like restaurants and not casual like fast food. Just perfect. You arrive, look at the menu and order at the cashier. The cashier is sweet and very nice. He knows what he's doing. The restaurant is very clean and spotless. The food... WOWEEE!! Me and my boyfriend had the stuffed shells in red sauce and the butternot squash raviolis. People gotta try them!!!! The house red wine and white wine are delicious!! And the Cannolis were incredible, I never had them in my life, so them being the first ones are a priviledge. We met Mr. Charlie (Restaurant Manager) and he was the best manager, he is sweet and knows how to connect with his guests. He told us the restaurant specials and just greeted us. I mean, on what restaurant the manager takes time to go to his guests and greet them and meet them. The best italian urban restaurant. Definitely coming back!! read more

Small restaurant, counter-service, freshly made pasta! I love how small the place is and the open kitchen style, with the freshly made pasta and deserts on display, so you know you're getting quality food. The price is simply unbeatable for such quality Italian food in Denver. I have been to far too many 'upscale' Italian restaurants serving lower quality, less flavorful food at a much higher price, skip them and come here instead! The staff were super helpful and friendly, which made the atmosphere and experience that much better. We lucked out and found street parking at a meter just a few hundred feet away, but were prepared to possibly hunt a little for parking on a busy day in Denver. I had the sweet pea Ravioli and it was so good I ordered more garlic bread just to soak up the rest of the sauce left on my plate. This is my favorite Italian spot in town now! read more

For my birthdays this year I wanted to try something new for a nice dinner and upon my search found Difranco's. Unfortunately, that experience was horrible from start the website pictures was deceiving because wasn't very fancy restaurant but more of fast food.We continued with my reservations, the server handed us a menu and pointed at where my party was seated like strike one, we attempted to order item off menu they were out of asked if they had a substitution server rudely said no strike 2, then came to our table trying to take menus from us because didn't want them to get dirty when we haven't even order our food strike 3, I decided at that point we are leaving because your service is terrible and lettting them ruin a special occasion my birthday which I told them in my reservation. I wish didn't have to give a star. read more

Yelp did it again! This place is fantastic! We ordered spaghetti with eggplant parmigiana and kids ordered spaghetti with chicken parmigiana. Great homemade pasta, my husband thought it was a bit too sticky and soft but I didn't mind. The staff there were nice and pleasant. It's more of a casual place rather than fancy sit down dinner type, it was perfect for us. read more

This place is amazing!! Great atmosphere. The most friendly staff I have ever seen. And the food is phenomenal. You can taste how fresh and how flavorful the dishes are. This place is a must try in my book! They also have great wine deals and the fresh bread is out of this world. My recommendation, give it a try! Oh I just LOVE eating here!! Definitely taste the quality! Here are some of my favorites: -MEATBALL SANDWICH with salad. I ask for their house Italian dressing on the side because I also like to dip pieces of bread from my sandwich into their AMAZING dressing :) - GARLIC BREAD. Toasty and sooo good! I love the quality of extra virgin olive oil they use. - RASPBERRY COOKIE- Wow! So tasty!! That jam--so fresh!! The cookie itself tastes a lot like their mascarpone cookie (which is also VERY, INCREDIBLY yummy!) read more

I'm Not really one to leave a review in fact, this is my first yelp review ever but, it absolutely was necessary. First of all I go to Difranco's all the time and they never fail to deliver. Their food is absolutely to die for. I ordered through grub hub some of my go to favorites and and within 30 minutes or so the order said it had been delivered but I never got it. I called Difranco's immediately And a gentleman by the name of Isaac not only was very pleasant but very accommodating. They remade my order and had it delivered in under 30 minutes AND included a bottle of wine for the entire mishap. ALL THAT in the middle of a pandemic. Absolutely amazing. I can't wait to send absolutely everyone I know to this incredible restaurant. *favorites include the burrata, Caesar salad, chicken Parmesan, and all bakery goods! read more

I'm so happy I accidentally stumbled across this place. It's very small and casual but they have done a great job at making it feel open and less cramped than it is. It is very clean and bright throughout with a touch of a modern vibe to it. The food.. DELICIOUS! This is the first place I've found in Denver that makes real Italian food, not the american spin on it that I've come to expect. Every bite of my meal called me back to my childhood and of the simple yet distinct flavors my Italian mother and grandfather would cook up for us. I had the Pasta Alla Vodka and ordered a chicken cutlet on the side to mix into it. Very simple recipe, but they nailed it! The staff was very accommodating and professional. I ordered a glass of wine and it was turned, so they happily opened a new bottle and got me a new glass quickly and courteously, no fuss whatsoever. They also have specials different nights of the week, including a date night special for a bottle of wine, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, and an appetizer (with the option for take out) for $50! I will definitely be taking advantage of that soon, talk about a total steal. As we were leaving, we saw an UberEats driver picking up an order, so next time i'm craving yummy Italian food and I don't want to leave the house or go to work in the kitchen, I'm going to see how their food holds up when delivered. I'll be sure to report back! read more

Super cute place, surprised that it's never very busy. Fresh pasta galore! Creative menu that has some seasonal options. A handful of Italian wines. Desserts all looked really good, tried the walnut cannoli...yum. Parking is weird if you park in the garage - traffic flow is opposite of what you'd expect so remember to keep left. Retail parking also seemed to be pretty limited, but I think some of the reserved spaces are open after 5pm. Not certain though. I'd probably just take my chances with street parking. read more

If you are gluten free and miss Italian food like crazy this is the place for you. They have regular pasta as well for all you lucky ducks who can tolerate it. This is a trendy quick serve Italian place in an adorable neighborhood. On Wednesdays they do a date night deal where you can get two entrees, a bottle of wine and a dessert for $50! They also have their housemade pasta, cannolis and cookies up front for sale. You could take some gf pasta home with you and make your own sauce! This place is a must try for gluten tolerant and intolerant friends alike!!! read more

You must come here! Or, then again, maybe it's not that great and you should all stay away so that I can always find a seat at the table... I'd had DiFranco's bookmarked for a long time based on the many other glowing reviews and finally made it in and tried the Wednesday date night special. The only thing more fantastic than that deal was the food itself! To enlighten you, the date night special involves 2 salads, 2 entrees, 2 cannolis, and a bottle of wine all for $40! What a steal! And, everything was wonderful. The salad option is the house salad and it was very good for what it is - a basic salad. Next time I'll see if you can upgrade for an extra cost because they had a salad with gorgonzola that was calling my name. For entrees, my friend and I shared the angelhair pasta in red sauce with a meatball and the penne in vodka sauce. Both dishes were again very good. The meatball was absolutely delicious. If I had to choose, I'd say I preferred the penne because that vodka sauce was so darn good, but both dishes were excellent. I can't wait to come back and try more of their tantalizing options as it was very difficult to choose. The cannoli were also pretty good, but cannolis in general are not my favorite dessert. I know some people absolutely love them. And, while the wine selection is limited on the special (one red, one white), the red wine we had was also very good. It's not like they give you a bottle of crappy tasting cheap wine - they've found the good ones. There's one large community table and then two smaller tables in their relatively small dining room. We arrived super early and were able to snag one of the small tables, but I also think it would be fun to sit at the community table. Definitely a good experience and I can't wait to go back. read more

Difranco’s - Fettuccine Alfredo is the best I've had in a long time. Garlic bread is phenomenal. - Italian Near Me - Denver, Colorado

Hands down - best spaghetti with red sauce I've had in Denver. The pasta is made in house and it's evident in the quality of the noodles and how they are prepared in the sauce before plating the beautiful authentic Italian dish. The flavor is just so spot on, and the plate is a perfect proportion. I was almost sad to see the dish go, because it was savory, robust flavor that just kept on going - but I realized I had reached my limit and one more bite, my pants would've busted open. It is a casual joint perfect for a lunch meet up or fast and easy dinner. You order at the counter and await for your food to be brought out to you. Every dish boasts seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms. The owner, from what I'd imagine a deeply rooted Italian family, uses his grandmother's recipes for some of the dishes and it shines through every simple but perfect plate. They even have a suggested wine pairing for some of the dishes from one of my favorite local wineries, Bonacquisti! read more

Didn't think it was possible to make a disgusting fettuccini Alfredo but they achieved it. Watery sauce, huge chunks of pepper and broccoli. Garlic bread was stale. Would not recommend. read more

You know, I think that we, as a society have been missing out on properly prepared pasta. Too often we settle for semi soggy or sticky noodles, especially when we're grabbing something for lunch or a quick dinner. After eating at DiFranco's, I'm never settling again. I had the penne pasta with a prosciutto vodka sauce. The pasta was al dente. Initially, I was a little surprised because I had come to expect pasta that was overcooked (I know, I'm obviously eating int he wrong places), but once I dug in, it was delicious. This place is perfect for lunch or a light(er) dinner because the portions aren't huge. They're just right for a really filling meal that won't send you spinning into a food coma. Oh, and save that piece of bread on the side there, because you'll want to use it to scoop up the leftover sauce when you finish your pasta. If you eat the bread right away, you'll be faced with the agonizing decision to leave the remaining sauce or just pick the plate up and lick it. I also had one of their Italian sodas. It was Strawberry Lemonade with a hint of, I think, basil or something (I'm bad with spices). SUPER sweet and tart, which is the way I like it. If you prefer more subtle Italian sodas, that's probably not the right flavor for you. The space is open, modern and airy and I think it's a modern twist on the fundamental principle of Italian food: simplicity can be delicious. This place definitely does simple right. read more

Difranco’s - Spaghetti with Meatballs! - Italian Near Me - Denver, Colorado

For my 100th review of 2013 I'd like to point out that DiFranco's employs the hottest men in town! And the food is pretty darn good too :-) Here's the breakdown: location is easily accessible to downtown and Cap Hill. The entrance is a bit hidden so look for the southern most garage entrance to the building and the door will be to the right of that. Seating is a bit limited depending on the time of day. But, I really like the large community table - snuggle in, get to know your neighbor. There are two small private tables next to the front window but for the full experience belly up to the long table. As mentioned above the employees are very VERY easy on the eyes but moreover they are all super nice and you can tell they work hard. I've been here for lunch and the experience is always so welcoming and relaxed. You can look back and see them preparing each meal with attention and jovial fun. What a kick-ass restaurant! Now to the food - YUM to the MMY to the D to the LISH! All of the ingredients are local and fresh, made to order and killer on flavor! There's even a poster to the right of the cash register that explains where each food item comes from. Nothing hidden, just solid food. Also, you can buy their raw products (pastas, sauces, etc.) and make your own meal at home! Great idea to sell what you serve. They also have wine and beer so that just adds to the greatness of this place! Simply put: walk in, place your order and sit down. In no time flat they will bring your order to you and all that's left is to sit back and enjoy. BUT - don't actually sit back because the chairs are (for the most part) backless. I learned that the hard way when I almost fell off my seat. A tad bit on the pricey side but that just means you get high quality for a higher price. I don't mind paying for great service and great food. I always add an extra meatball to my order because why not? You really need to dive in and get you some. Awesome sauce! read more
