The host with the tattoo covered up to her neck rolled her eyes at me after having a complaint and when you leave and say thanks she ignored me and didn't say anything. I came in for breakfast on a Thursday, and was seated by my waitress, Jane. After two minutes, she had my order and coffee and sent it to the kitchen where it took about five minutes to make and serve. FIVE MINUTES!!!! Star-Trek couldn't make my omelette that fast! Normally I have no issues eating at Dennys. But not at this location. It got worse than before. Lousy service. I was here around midnight. My food came in first with slight error that i didnt mind.. But there was one problem.. I never got my drinks! lol. Which was a simle cup of water and a cup of coffee. It wasnt even busy and my server went poof! Gone. For like 30mins, nothing! Lol The other staff members were on their phones. I had to wait for the hostess to pass by lol. She served me my drinks. And even she did poorly. She gave me the wrong creamer lol. Went on Friday 6/4/21 around 8:30am. Walked in and the waitress, an older Asian female saw us and grabbed some menu and said "this way". Just no emotion, no greeting, nothing. We ate our food. The same lady remained very dry, no customer service. Said she would bring us jelly for the toast but never returned. While we ate , never checked if we needed anything else. I had to ask for the bill. During payment at the register, the same lady did a no eye contact " thank you" and we were on our way. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, maybe she was having a bad day or is going through something emotionally but ehh the experience was not good. I tipped because I am accustom to and understand the value of tipping but didn't tip like I would have had it been great customer service Long gone are the days of good quality customer services. About a month ago, I placed a delivery order from this Denny's for breakfast for me and my wife. The delivery driver left the food on my doorstep, but it was instantly apparent that the driver had grabbed the wrong order, and there was nothing I could really do about it. The one thing I could do, however, was call the restaurant and let them know that one of their pick up orders would never be picked up because it was grabbed by the wrong person. The cashier I spoke with passed the phone to the manager, Juan Pablo, and he expressed his condolences for what had happened, but said that there was nothing much he could really do for me at that point. He did tell me to call and talk to him the next time I placed an order and that he might be able to throw in a free desert or something--which, you know, is pretty nice, since he wasn't obligated to do anything in a situation like this. Fast-forward to today, when I placed a breakfast order for pick-up. I remembered to ask to speak with the manager, so I called ahead and briefly refreshed his memory as to what had happened last time, and he took my order with the implication that he would see what he could do. Well, when I arrived at the counter to pick up my order, I told the cashier my name and order, then I heard a voice chime in, "You can just give it to him." And to my surprise, the manager was sitting just off to the side in a booth. Then he turned to me and said, "I took care of this one for you." I walked over and we chatted for a minute or so, and I must say that I was touched and impressed by Manager Juan Pablo's sense for customer relations. Hey it's a Denny's. Always depending on where you are will dictate the clientelle that come to the establishment. Here a LOT of larger families come and the older crowd in the AMs on the weekdays so getting a table for two may be a wait (plus they closed the Sizzler down the road making this the ONLY family restaurant on Sherman Way in Lake Balboa). The staff here are ran thin, usually one or two people per section and they are always flipping tables. For this location you HAVE to know what you want before because I went once looking for the 2, 4, 6, 8 menu and didn't see it, but went a month later they had the menus - even though this deal was always there. We knew that the original grandslam was around for a 6.99 price while the build your own was 9.69, but nowhere advertised the 6.99 price, so we were charged the higher price... we later looked it up and online on their website advertised the 6.99 price... felt a little duped. The servers are great here, the man who was waiting on us had a great personality and was joking with us on my birthday for my free grandslam. Overall....it's Denny's. It's not amazing, but it's open 24/7 and they have diner food that's filling. read more

Just what you expect from Denny's, they are very consistent. I prefer them for breakfast more than IHOP unless I specifically want pancakes.

Place has absolutely nobody that is cordial or that even cares about customer service. They offer no solutions when they run out of food and give you an attitude if you dare ask why they are simply not interested in helping their customers. Waitress Carmen is a disaster. Manager Juan is no different. Carmen is full of bad attitude and Juan condones it. Those two are not even aware of what to do to try and satisfy a customer. read more

Visited this Denny's for the first time today November 3rd, 2019.. myself and 3 children. We waited about 13 minutes in the lobby, got seated waited about 40 mins for breakfast. Server walking around in slow motion. I understand it's a Sunday, but our area had lots of empty tables; which I pointed out to the manager that I requested to speak with after sitting for so long without any food. By the way, drink service from the same server took about 15 mins to arrive. Manager gave me a 20 percent discount, not sure if it helped because the hash browns arrived burnt.
