When we first arrived the waitress seated us. She offered us drinks and it took a while for her to bring them out. The food was brought out , and it was three of us at the table. My food was delicious, my husband wasn't thrilled about his, the food wasn't served hot. Afterwards there wasn't a waitress on the floor. We wasn't told anything. We waited for refills on our drinks but that never happened. We were truly disappointed with the customer service. It was really poor. My mom worked for Dennys for over 20 years and she had just passed away. She always provided excellent customer service and to see this was utterly disappointing. Whenever we are in town again we will remember not to stop at this location ever again. read more

Just ate here and it was good. Restaurant was clean, as was the restroom, and our server had concise but friendly customer service. Food nicely cooked, table stocked with all condiments, good selection of cream and sugar for my coffee. I guess I can understand the plethora of bad reviews, but if you go to Denny's expecting 5-star cuisine and white glove service, you're sorely mistaken. Every Denny's I've ever been to has been more or less the same, and I'm the type of person who appreciates consistency, especially in chain restaurants where you know, things are supposed to be consistent. Worst experience I've had with Denny's ever. I've been going to this restaurant for years and have never had a major issue like this one. So I ordered some food and they were missing a item so I called back to see what they could do for me.When they picked up I was left on hold for a long time then I eventually hanged up. Then I picked up the woman picked up she said "what up b****!" I then explained what had happened to this woman then she said "Listen cheapskate, your not getting free food from me." Trying to contain myself I said " I not trying to get free food and just want what is mine." The woman replied "Well I can't do nothing and I guess she thought she hanged up because I heard her talking to her friend. What she said is extremely rude. She yelled "Aye gurl we got a taco man on the line who wants food!" I decided to hang up. I guess I'll have to go to the other Denny's near by. The service here is trash. The place wasn't even nearly packed and they took more than 20 minutes to even take our drink orders so it's another 20 minutes of waiting to get our food. They seriously need better hosts or better management and sanitize better. Will not be coming back. read more

Horrible service. Went in on Jan 30th and there was no indoor dining because there were no clean dishes (???) the server and hostess were complaining about how much they hated the place, totally unprofessional. The back door alarm went off and they ignored it and went out for a smoke. Worst experience. Horrible place. Terrible employees. read more

Cons: the floors are filthy. Employees walk over trash on the floor instead of picking it up. The hostess walked by a man at a table who was trying to get attention and she intentionally ignored him...and she saw him. Fortunately, his server walked right up. Pros: Our server, Miasha, was THE BEST. She was funny and always had a smile on her face. She saved us a few bucks by knowing her menu. Believe it or not, the coffee here was great. Food was fine. Service lacked. Ordered a Grand Slam Slugger which comes with juice and bread. I ordered OJ and wheat toast. The server, Don, wearing a black hat and a prominent gold tooth - charged me nearly $3 for the OJ which is supposed to come with the meal and forgot my wheat toast. By the time he came by to check on me my meal was finished. "How about the wheat toast?" "Oh yeah..." The table next to me ordered burgers and a shake. This place has horrible customer service and is very poorly managed. We were greeted by two host after waiting at the empty host stand for about 5 minutes. Came to this location after the cowboys game and probably experienced the worst service ever. The 2 waiters were fighting over who should take our order and seat us since they said they were both "really" busy. They sat us down rudely. We waited 20 minuets sitting and no one ever came to take our order nor ask what we would like to drink. We sat a total of 30 minuets unattended till we had enough and got up to leave and when they saw us leave one said to the other "thank god." Never got an apology about the service. Me and my family came from out of state and were eager to see how much different this Denny's was compared to home, let me just say I'm glad and thankful for all our servers back in California and will never come to a Denny's in Dallas again ! read more

At 11pm there are not a lot of options around the area, not even fast food. I was lucky to find anywhere open this late in the evening. The 4, 6, 8 menu is a decent value. I got the classsic burger for 6 bucks with seasoned fries on the side. Food came out fast and the burger was decent. Fries came out hot and crispy. Absolutely horrible experience! I placed an online breakfast order and when I went to pick it up, I had to wait 45 extra minutes because they just started making it. Apparently the pick up time on the confirmation email is meaningless. I finally got my order and once I reached home, my family realized that the Denny's people had forgot two of our orders. So I had to drive back to this location and asked one of the server's if I can speak to the manager. A few minutes later the server tells me that the manager (Trudy is her name I think) can not come outside but that I should give her a call back at a later time. How utterly rude of the manager to treat me this way. All I got for such a crappy experience at Denny's was an insincere apology and a manager refusing to speak to me and choosing to ignore me. This location needs to be closed or maybe needs a better manager who can take care of things and is a lot more attentive to a customer's needs. I chose to spend my hard earned money at this Denny's location and next time I will take my family somewhere else. Trust me, there are a lot of good breakfast options in Design District. read more

My 5 stars are based on the sliding scale that this is a diner and not a steakhouse. 11:00 am on Saturday, busy but the wait staff is smiling! The open kitchen has a nice diner feel, I can see the cooks and they do not have scowls (trust me from years of restaurant work, this is rare). As new guests enter they are immediately greeted, and I see other customers leaving who seem satisfied. I also love all the windows and open feeling of this location. I like this one better than my local Denny's. read more

The only reason this establishment is getting one star is so that it is lowest you can go and they do t have negative stars. There are literally 10 people in this restaurant and it took 49 minutes to serve three people a grilled cheese, a western omelet and the egg white spinach grand slam. Once it arrived the food was good and it was also hot..... but it was unacceptable to spend almost an hour waiting on a simple breakfast. I wouldn't recommend this Denny's read more

When I moved into my apartment, I was pretty happy to have a Denny's on the block that I could walk to for breakfast. Unfortunately, this is the worst location that I can ever recall visiting. The food is hit or miss some days it will be fine and others it is cold and dry. The service is always slow. Good luck getting a drink refill before you are finished with your meal. My biggest issue, however, is that I tried to use a gift card and it kept giving me a card read error. After the hostess swiped it a few times, she said "there is nothing I can do about it." So I had to pay cash. Hypothetically speaking, what happens if I didn't bring another form of payment...he reply was "you'll be sitting here for a while." Her co-worker chimed in and said "this is the same thing that would happen if it was a debit card." Since what point in time were you not able to manually type in the numbers on the card? She was totally unwilling to help out. If anyone is looking for $72 worth of gift cards that you probably won't be able to use, I'm your guy. Mama's Daughters Diner a few blocks down the street will get my business from now on. You should consider the same. read more

I checked the menu and I couldn't find the fries. I asked help from the server and told him " where can I find the fries ?" . He pointed me the burgers section and the kind of fries. The price was 59 cents and too cheap to be true. I asked an approval from the server. " hey sir, this price can not be true, are you sure ? He said " yes, sure" . I asked 3 times more. Each time , his answer was "yes , surely". At the end, I told him that I will not pay more than this price in case of any different price. He told me " ok sir, no problem" I got my receipt , I check the price and price was different. The server and the manager told me that I had to pay this price. I tried to explain the issue to the manager but she didn't care about lt. Neither the manager nor the server have tried to do anything about it. Finally I paid the price they wanted, but I'm really pisted off. I have enough experience to guess the price of a portion of fries, and I'm not trying to reduce the prices or creating problems. The thing got me mad is , the server ignored the things he said, the manager has forced me to believe that this issue is my fault. Is this store a branch of Denny's? Hard to believe. There were a couple of other groups there, but definitely not enough people to warrant a 20 minute wait to get our freaking check. Also, my table got pretty much completely ignored by our waitress, who on the other hand did not fail to engage in friendly banter and otherwise be, you know, a waitress, to my other table of friends. The only reason this place gets two stars rather than one is that the food tasted absolutely amazing to me at the time.
