It was an easy walk from the hotel we were staying at, and quiet when we came in. It didn't take long for our order to arrive, and we ordered food to dine in. I think it was pretty good, and thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes with bacon and scrambled eggs, and while the eggs weren't seasoned, they had salt and pepper on the tables. The pancakes were very fluffy and yummy, and the syrup it came with was not too sweet. My friend ordered the anaheim scrambler, and she also enjoyed it. I attended a conference at the City Center Marriott and needed a place to grab some food for a large party. After browsing the main floor lobby area we landed on Corner Bakery to satisfy our hunger. For the most part the entire table ordered the "pick 2" option and went with half a sandwich and soup. I picked the chicken salad sandwich and a cup of the baked potato soup. After filling up our soda/tea cups we headed out to the main lobby area to find a table. The space inside Corner is meant for smaller groups (up to 4) and there's not a lot of space but plenty of seats out in the main lobby area. Within minutes our food arrives, delivered by a Corner employee! The order was correct and everyone was happy. Food was great, bread was fresh, soups were hot, etc. I heard a lot of compliments on taste and I believe most everyone finished their meals. My chicken salad sandwich was excellent, lots of taste and I liked the sweetness from apples and cranberries with crunch from celery! Multigrain bread was super fresh too. My potato soup was fantastic, wish I had a bigger serving! Portions were perfect for lunch. Free refills on the soda. All of the employees were friendly and helpful, especially when one was in desperate need of a napkin. Oatmeal: Nothing fancy, nothing out of this world. The application is constructed using hearty oats cooked in skim milk that's topped with sliced almonds, granola, sliced banana, brown sugar, and a drizzle of honey. Despite the complexity in its array of ingredients, the taste of the Oatmeal was superb! Patrons will find the hominess derived from the Oatmeal's consumption to be soothing and hospitable. Yeah. Was here for the National Speech and Debate Finals. Needed a bite to eat. Definitely regretted it. The pros: 1. It's easy to find in this so-called shopping center located in the at a food court near a Marriott complex. 2. Decent prices for their food, but we'll get to that part. The cons: 1. So I rolled the dice and chose their Cuban sandwich (aka Cubano). I think this thing would make Cubans flee back to Cuba. It was so bad. Poor excuse for bread, small servings of meat, poor excuses for pickles (little round pickles have no place on a Cubano). Che just rolled in his grave at how capitalism has allowed the destruction of this treasure of a sandwich. 2. Not going to lie but the staff is less than attentive and a little surly. I know it's a food court. I know that some people can be a little rushed or even rude. I make sure to greet people when I order. It makes a difference but they were not in the mood to deal with anyone that day. I must have come right after a major rush and they seemed stressed. The cashier Jaleesa is consistently rude. She never greets the guests & always annoyed if I ask menu questions. She had the audacity to raise her voice with me this last time because I wanted to know why I was being charged extra for a reward coupon though it doesn't state on the coupon any exceptions. When I asked why she replied "look do you want it or not". Unacceptable! This is in contrast to most all other staff members who are friendly and professional. On asking about it, somebody went into the corners of the kitchen and pulled my now cold order and handed it to me. It's a shame when the McDonald's has better customer service than them. For the most part, I order to-go but they leave the items out on the side so that ANYONE can come up and grab my food. Many years ago this restaurant was the bomb. Delicious food, lots of choices. I don't know about other locations but this one is almost a bomb. I have the farmers breakfast and all of it is tasteless. The eggs and veggies had no flavor at all, so I added salt and pepper just to eat it. I got the fruit for a side... also tasteless. No gluten free options at all, so I took a nibble of the toast....eh, also no flavor. Three stars only because the coffee is really good and I got decaf. You know it's hard to find good decaf. First of all...I've sworn this place off a million times due to messed up orders. They have yet to get the order right, however the manager is always doing his best to fix it...and by fix it I mean throwing $5 gift cards at me. Not this time though! This time it sticks. I went down at 3 p.m. to get me a blueberry muffin. There's usually one or two left in the breakfast bread basket. Just my luck...there's one there. I'm next in line and the second the gal says can I help you, a worker swoops in from the back, grabs said blueberry muffin and takes a bite out of it! I'm dumbfounded. I just stand there like I've been slapped. I say, "Nope, was gonna have a blueberry muffin, but I guess not." It was one of those moments when I wish I'd had my wits about me so I could go off on a proper rant. I should have said: "No, some half wit just took a bite out of the last blueberry muffin like she freaking owns the place. The food is here for the customers ie me not you, and while Betty Apron over there is welcome to BE a customer she should have to carry her happy butt out here and stand in line. The blue berry muffin is mine, either have her hock it up and mash it back into shape or ger her butt in back to make me another. And if you don't I will call security and have you all beaten." This location is really nice because you can eat and watch the ice skaters go by on the ice rink inside this giant food court. Even though it's really crowded at lunch, the service is very fast and the food is very fresh and delicious. I tried their new Lentil soup with a salad, and it was just divine, as I sat and watched other people eat their lunches. Okay, that sounds creepy, but the ice skaters were too far away and you're surrounded by other lunch folks so it's kinda hard to help. For dessert, try the brownie. I got it free one time cause they screwed up my order and OMG, it's fabulous!!! read more

I'm here in Dallas for a convention of about 3,000 people and this is the best option in the Plaza of the Americas. The staff is very friendly with the influx of people. They must have accidentally given my order to another person and actually recognized I had been waiting for quite awhile. They made me fresh food and gave me $10 in coupons and owned they messed up and were beyond apologetic. It's easy to mess up when you suddenly have 1,000 people ordering but it's not easy to keep a great attitude. This Corner Bakery should be a model store for this franchise. read more

It's a Corner Bakery so the food is pretty much the same as all of the rest of them, it's pretty good but nothing special. For breakfast I usually get the Swiss oatmeal which is delicious, thanks go to the lovely Shayna P. for telling me about that. For lunch I usually order the trio with the tuna salad, chicken salad, and the seasonal fruit cup or sometimes I will get the uptown turkey sandwich (another recommendation from Shayna P). With that being said, this location is pretty cool and unique because it is located in the Plaza of the Americas and a lot of the tables are located close to the ice rink. The soup was piping hot, even after the 8 minutes it took to get back to the office. The soup, Spicy Thai Coconut Soup was spot on, rich and flavorful, with large chunks of mushrooms, chicken, peppers, and a broth worth its weight in gold!! Thank heavens for this place. Staying in the Sheraton for a conference this week and hotel food is expensive. But, Dallas is hot and I don't want to spend my time outdoors if I don't have to. Corner bakery is located in Plaza of the Americas, easily accessible on the sky walk. Food is good and reasonably priced which allows me to stay within my travel budget and refuel. I ordered the Anaheim scrambler this morning. Priced at $7 and change it's certainly worth it. The scramble was served with toast and potatoes. For $10 including a hot tea, I will be full for several hours. Scrambler was very nice with two slices of avocado atop it. I would have liked more avocado, but I always want more avocado. I spread the avocado on my toast and made a sandwich with it. Yum. It was a little underseasoned but salt and pepper grinders on the table solved the non issue. Only set back is that it does take a bit to get your food. I waited 12 minutes this morning. Not a big deal this morning but might avoid if I have limited time and the lines are long. read more

The food is relatively bland to me, but I haven't tried their breakfast menu. I usually get a choose two which is a good deal but annoying because most of the good options have an upcharge. I have tried to branch out from the loaded baked potato soup and turkey uptown avocado (think a BLT with turkey and avocado) I always get, but everything else I've tried is either very bland or just nasty. Mac and cheese has cheese that is kind of runny and lacking flavor, even if you get the one with tomatoes and bacon. Their chicken salad is full of dried fruit and practically no chicken. Broccoli cheddar soup is poor both in consistency and taste. Chicken noodle soup is passable, but is evenly matched with anything you could buy in a can. Ordered cake bites with icing that tasted like clay and were raw in the middle. The loaded baked potato soup is amazing, but they use fake processed cheese that doesn't even melt in the hot soup so I always order it on the side. I would expect a place like this to use higher-quality ingredients. Sometimes it's obvious to tell where this restaurant has chosen to cut corners. This place could also benefit from less plastic! Plastic food containers that go into a huge plastic bag even if you don't need it. If you order to go, make sure you get everything your ordered. I ordered a choose two meal and they forgot the other half of the choose two, which was a prime rib panini that I had paid an extra 79 cents for. What's worse, when I told the employee about this, she asked if I had looked in the bag. What kind of question is that? How else would I have known the sandwich wasn't there? They got it to me eventually, but I had ordered online so I wanted the food ready when I got there. And besides, I should've just stuck to what I knew because the prime rib panini was also bland and the meat tasted unpleasant.
