Probably the worst place in town. Food quality is garbage and it's becoming dilapidated.

THIS IS A WARNING The experience was horrible I never been to a Denny's like this we got sat in the very back by the bathroom and it was only just us and it smelt horrible we where waiting to ask to move but the service was very bad no one looked at us or cared then we got moved and as we FINALLY got are food my bf was putting syrup on his pancakes and was INFESTED WITH ANTS we tried to tell people but they never came until we walked up there and told them, as we went we checked other bottles and THERES MORE INFESTED WITH ANTS AND THEY DONT CARE. they only took the pancakes off at the end and I wish they did more don't go unless u want ants with your meal read more

Not too happy with our order. My husband had the T-bone steak medium but it feels like its well done (it's hard like a rubber) and mine's salmon which is like for kids meal because of its actual size. I hope they improve their portion size for salmon and stick to how your customer wants their steak cooked. read more

The waitress was extremely rude. She asked us what we wanted to drink then she rolled her eyes at us. Our son wasn't ready we asked if she could come back to give him time to look and she never did. She brought our food and our son still didn't get his order taken. On a brute note the manager was very friendly. I didn't get her name but she had great customer service. read more

Terrible rude on Christmas Day today at 3:45 PM. On my way to Mammoth, as I do every month for years. Stopped in the great town of Bishop as I have 100s of times. Walked into Denny's with my wife and 4 children. Stood at the front desk for 7 minutes. Your hostess working today was the most rude I have ever experienced in 5 decades of dining. She seated the person in front of me. She then looked at me and turned away and started taking orders from tables. She came back, avoided eye contact, got something from the desk, walked away again. Without a word or acknowledgement, continues to ignore us. We walked out. We'll never return. And I'll be posting this to Denny's HQ website. BTW- no way to claim they were busy. It was not busy at all, and even it was, it's no excuse for the rudeness. She didn't want us dining there. Mission accomplished. FILTHY. A dirty dirty dirty door greeted us on the way in. But we were hungry so we let that slide. But it only got worse from there. The host seated us at a dirty table with dirty seats. We looked around and noticed ALL the tables had obviously not been cleaned. Please understand there only 3 other people in the whole place, so too busy to clean tables was not an excuse. Our experience at this dennys was horrible. First we were seated directly across from the bathroom that gave off a horrible smell i asked to move and they allowed it but that wasn't even the worst part after eating my omlette and other food i moved on to my pancakes only to find that AFTER i poured the syrup onto my pancakes that the bottle was INFESTED WITH ANTS. If I could give it a half star I would. This place is laughable at best. Save your money go somewhere else. We had a waitress who was nice but not great. Someone else served our food but told me they were out of Waffles and they made a judgement call to just give me pancakes instead of asking me what I wanted in place of that and I told her no I want French toast instead which I had to wait for them to be made. My partner got his food when they brought out my side. Our waitress came back and asked if everything was ok and had no clue about the the lack of waffles and tried to make it right but the other girl said she already took care of it. The other wait staff seemed not to have any communication and it look like there was animosity with our waitress. The manager was oblivious to anything going on and was talking to a couple (friends maybe)the entire time we were there. They place was a mess. I don't even think they know how to clean. Denny's.... This used to be the place where when we would go, it would be the treat of the year! It was the most awesome place to go... WAS. We went there last Sunday, and it was the worst food we had ever had... EVER. I am a vegetarian and ordered the veggie burger. It was so plain, it tasted like cardboard. It had spinach, tomatoes, and TONS of mushrooms... No where on the menu did it say it included mushrooms. The entire plate was covered with them, not to mention the burger. My Mom had the chicken cranberry salad. It wasn't very big in the flavor either. The portion was much smaller than the last time we went, and was not pleasing. Service was okay. She was a bit too... Eh. We are locals to Mammoth Lakes, and like I said before, used to LOVE late night dinners at Denny's. Not this time. We probably won't go again... Ever. read more

Stopped here on our way back home. There's a now hiring sign so I figured it may be a little slow but what I wasn't expecting was for the waitress to bring both myself and my husband the wrong food. After setting it down on the table she immediately walked away and then came back a few minutes later going over our check bc she realized it was wrong. Food tastes like crap. When we told the waitress we got the wrong order, she said "oh......". And to top it off, we tipped $12 which was in between 10 and 15% tip. She couldn't figure out how to put in a $12 tip so she put 15% which raised our total by $2 and didn't say anything. Two dollars isn't a lot but it's the principle. read more

Quality is the same as any other Denny's, but this one is a little bit special. First, it's in Bishop. So automatically the service and the patrons are going to have some personality, which I like. Seconly, even when the weather is bad and all the other places are packed, I have never had to wait to sit down. This means a lot to me driving between Reno and San Diego. The trip is long enough, I can't be wasting time. Everyone here was more than happy to bring me my breakfast quickly, fill my coffee cup every five minutes I was there, and get me back on the road. read more

This Denny's restaurant sometimes gets a bad rap for less than legitimate reasons. At the same time, I've received bad customer service or bad food several times. Overall, it's been an adequate experience. The wait staff is generally friendly and welcoming. The food usually arrives within a reasonable time, when it's not of questionable quality. On one visit, I did bring up an issue regarding moldy bread on my sandwich. The manager on duty tried to explain it away as being avocado, when it was clearly mold. Keep your expectations at *adequate* and hopefully you'll get that here. Mostly. read more

This is where my husband and I stopped for lunch after he proposed last year. We came back because it's cheaper than other options in town. I had one of those "Hobbit slams." There wasn't really anything Hobbit-y about it. Got the "seed" French toast and found it to just be a poppy seed pound cake with some icing on top. Yuck. I should have ordered normal French toast. The Pumpkin pancakes didn't really taste pumpkin-y at all, though they did put plenty of cinnamon on top. Also, my has browns were very pale. Yuck again. I will always go to Denny's because of its broad menu options, price, and convenience, but I must remember to stick to egg white breakfast slams and be prepared to drown my pale potatoes in plenty of Chulula hot sauce. 4 reasons this Denny's lost 4 stars: 1. No extra plate when we explained we were sharing an entree. 2. Husband said the super bird sandwich "looked pathetic" and fries had NO salt 3. Hot chocolate tasted like water 4. When asked to add more chocolate to the hot chocolate, server dusted the top with chocolate powder, dropped it off and said "I put it on the top for you" as if that's a good thing? The only good thing is the food was cooked all the way through and service was super fast despite being so busy at 10 pm Saturday. I can't give zero stars so I guess I'll go with one.. we showed up here on my fiancé's birthday for breakfast. We were sat down on the side of the building outside because of Covid in the mud, which okay COVID. 3 people took our drink order but one ever brought us our drinks. Finally my fiancé complains to someone. We were seating near the exit. We hear the employee go in and start laughing saying in Spanish that we were upset about the delay and basically making fun of us. I understand Spanish and was shocked! I walk up to the door and ask to speak to a manager. They tell me there is no manager but they are sorry about the delay. I tell them although the delay is an issue, that is not why I'm complaining and proceed to tell them what occurred. We end up leaving. I contacted Denny's corporate and they responded telling me this Denny's location would reach out, which they never did. I know it's just a chain but we have been going to Denny's for YEARS, and this is a crappy way to treat customers that we're always loyal. read more

Stopped here for lunch on 8/6/17. My son and I each ordered the Super Bird sandwich which is made with thinly sliced turkey breast with melted Swiss cheese, crisp bacon and tomato on grilled sourdough. This is not what we received, what arrived was a greasy looking sandwich cut across the bread lengthwise and filled with mystery meat. I asked the waitress what it was and she said they ran out of turkey and had to buy some at the market. I have never seen turkey that looked like this. I've only been to Denny's twice. Once in South Lake Tahoe and this morning in Bishop. South Lake Tahoe was a horrible experience so I was apprehensive to try this chain again. This place is unbelievable I visited here around 5 PM on Feb 17th 2018, Saturday. So after hiking near Bishop, I ended up coming here just to fill up my empty stomach. It's a small town, not a variety of choices there. Why not give a shot to Denny's Wrong decision. This clueless young girl at the cashier was chit chatting with another coworker then her delightful chatty face turned into emotionless robotic as I walked toward the cashier then asked me "one?" I was "yes?!!" WTF For the record, I been to lots of different shitty dining places, I never experienced a place like without even saying hello or welcome This girl don't even pretend "one?" As soon as I got a table myself, she resumed chatting with her coworker again like a night before her prom party. Minutes later, she brought me a water so I asked "Do you not even greet like hello?" She's like it's a common procedure to ask when a customer walks in how many people in a party blah blah At this point, I realized I should not waste my time no more Dude, you didn't even bother to form a full sentence like " How many people?"or simple "hello" "One?" one what? and If you wanna chat with your friends go meet or get on snapchat do whatever somewhere else rather than being hired wasting everyone's time here. We did not expected great service because of the overall Yelp reviews not to mention that our waitress did not make the best first impression. She did however make up for it with her great service. She was nice, accommodating and quick to check on us, and I say this because we were somewhat a large party. The food was what you would expect from Denny's, good but not amazing. You know when you go out to eat with your family you think you can eat together like a family well that was not the case here 1. Our so called waitress never asked us for anything to drink did not even offer water 2. it took awhile for our waitress to take our order then our waitress finally asked if we want somerhing to drink when i asked for staws she rolled her eyes 3. Half of my daughters order came she ate, then my husbands plate came he ate, now finally mine and my sons came o and my husband was still waitting for only a chicken fired steak to complete his meal my husband never got his whole meal 4. We were visiting Bishop and looked for a place to eat. Most places were closed and those that were open didn't allow dogs. We arrived here and they had set up tables outside and allowed dogs. My husband and I have a tradition of having some date nights at Denny's to commemorate a funny scenario in our early dating days that we fondly remember. Tonight we had a fab date night at Denny's.
