I'm not a Denny's fan anyway, but this was the only location open for anything close to a breakfast at 8:30 AM as I was driving through. I had two in my party and my infant in a stroller. I asked for a table where I could have the stroller out of people's way. We were seated in a booth/table near a TV. Waitress came and asked for drinks, I ordered a tea and a water for my party member who had left to the restroom. Drinks come and my party member comes back and sits for about 3 mins before she's back asking if we're ready. I could tell they felt put on the spot, so I was quick to say they hadn't had a chance to look at the menu. I asked if I could also have a water. Finally order and I chose to create my own grand slam so I could have oatmeal along with other items I wanted. I didn't see French toast listed in the slam but they clearly offer French toast so I didn't think it would be an issue. They offered flax pancakes and I asked if I could have flax in my French toast. (I'm a nursing mother and it helps my supply). She came back to inform me that they didn't have flax. (Must be in a special pancake mix and not separate?) Went to the bathroom to change my infant and thankfully they offered a Kowala changing station in the bathroom - but it didn't have liners (I carry my own liner anyway but it's nice, you know?). By the time I get back, food is served, but my oatmeal is missing. And I still didn't have my water. So I asked for my oatmeal and water again. Meal was okay. Nothing special. Typical Denny's. The restaurant wasn't busy however my meal was cold. I ordered the pumpkin pancakes that come with a "pumpkin cream sauce" which was over powering and nearly covered the entire plate I had to scrape off the sauce. My eggs were luke warm and the bacon so thin it broke in half. I boxed up the majority of my meal to take home so I could warm it up, I NEVER send food back unless I'm having it removed from my bill and not ordering something else. We stop by this Denny's 2x/year. In August on our way home from camping and in October on our way up and back from June Lake. We've never really had any issues considering it's been a ritual for nearly 14 years! However, this morning, on our breakfast stop on the way up to June Lake, it was just wow. Slooooow service, took about 10 mins just to get water and coffee, half frozen hash browns, and no sourdough bread....they are literally across the street from an amazing bakery! Service today was worst I have witnessed anywhere, spent $110 for myself and a few friends after I suggested going there after church and I had the rudest older Latina taking our order she seemed irritated that we refused a 2-4 seater booth with 5 of us in the party then only got 1 refill on drinks and after asking for napkins received 2-3 of them when I spent $20+ on Hotwings then was given a ticket immediately without being offered dessert which we ordered anyways no thanks to her! Just not cool to rush customers out after they take 2 bites of there meal and then never comeback to check on them, I blame the lazy ass manager too for never being prepared for Sunday's! They seriously have the worst service. first off when we came in not one waitress greeted us even though they saw us come in and made us awkwardly wait there. There was this one waitress with blonde hair I think her name was twalia or something was rolling her eyes and back talking all cause we wanted to sit at a different table when they finally came to seat us. my parents had to complain to the manager and just left without even eating. I understand they are busy but we've been seated for over an hour and people that came in far after us have already been served their food. An hour and 15 min ticket time for a half order of nachos and an omelet is pretty ridiculous. It would be more understandable if everyone had the same wait but a larger table getting all of their food first when we ordered 30 min before them doesn't make us want to come back. Went there for lunch today. I ordered a Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad. There was a good amount of dirt on my lettuce. When I mentioned this to the manager, he told me the salad arrives pre-washed and bagged. I asked if he wanted me to show it him and he seriously just stood there looking confused. I must start my review with a preface. I've heard of Denny'had racism occur at its restaurant, but never experienced it first hand. We were offered a table and the server immediately redirected to another table with another server. I noticed that she was working in a section that seemed very anglosaxon to me. I was told she was leaving so she didn't want to take another table. Funny, she didn't leave and she was very happy to take her "regular" customers. This aside, my daughter really wanted her chocolate chip pancakes, so we stayed. We ordered and were surprised to get our meal so quickly. Clearly the kitchen had items started before we ordered. My slam was cold and under cooked. I ordered eggs over easy. I got one egg over easy and one broken over cooked yolk. The cook did take the time to place the raw hash browns over the broken egg to conceal it. The rest of the meal was very underwhelming! My daughter's pancakes were no better. The cold meat items were under the pancakes, maybe their way of warming them up a bit. Clearly it doesn't matter what they serve kids because they don't matter here. I showed the server the raw potatoes and she acted as if she couldn't tell they were raw. When potatoes are raw they are white, when cooked they are golden brown on the outside. Hope that helps the servers identify cooked hash browns. I was asked if i would like something instead of the hash browns. I declined. I was presented a check and was told that the manager knew I was mad so she okayed her to remove the hash browns from the bill. I HATE WHEN THEY THINK YOU COMPLAINED TO GET A DISCOUNT. I told her to give me my bill and I'll pay it. I was trying to show them that the food was not done right and they automatically think its about the money. Lesson learned. There are several places to have a nice breakfast with servers that want to work and food that is prepared with care. Clearly, Denny's has missed the mark. Our Food was cold, utensils Dirty,eggshells in my daughter eggs when i made a complaint to the server Mooneer he told me we are under staff and you need to face reality and walk away, after that i got up to speak to the manager as i waited Mooneer pass again and in front of everyone told me, why are you here if we have bad reviews you should of just gone somewhere else. This use to be a nice place to eat in Bishop but not anymore. I ordered 1 cup of coffee and after an hour I finally got someone's attention to refill my cup. The table next to me got an undercooked steak but instead of politely fixing it the waitress took it to the cook and complained rudely about the customer (customers speak Spanish too so we heard this conversation) Finally the manager came over and heard the customers complaint but never confronted to the waitress or staff he just took the meal off the ticket. The staff just stands around gossiping and if you ask for something they say "I'll get your waitress" . The food is bland and either over cooked or under cooked. With so many restaurants in Bishop to choose from you think Dennys would try harder. read more

I went to Denny's yesterday for a breakfast run from Reno to Riverside. We were hungry and since Ihop was closed at Carson, we decided to just wait a little bit and get to the Denny's in Bishop. Walking in there, it's not a surprise that there were a lot of people coming for breakfast so we didn't care all that much. When the host finally gave us a table, we noticed that the tables weren't clean and it was infested with ants. Yes, you read it correctly, there were ANTS! It was so nasty that we found an ant crawling up to the tip of the maple syrup. After we finally sat in the horrendous spot, we haven't gotten a server and so the host had to ask us what we wanted to drink, which was very unusual because it's normally the waiter's job to do it last time I checked. It took us a while that after 5 minutes of waiting, our waitress came in with no straws. We had our order ready, but the time it took for our food to come in was soooooo long. My dad was looking at the atmosphere of the place and I later found out that they're very understaffed, which explains why bussers and hosts came to wait us. Denny's Bishop is the first Denny's I stepped in and actually felt comfortable (and I visit many Denny's). The temperature was just right; not freezing cold as most Denny's places are. Our waitress did a great job to serve us in a timely manner. I know many people criticize Denny's food but I visit Denny's during all my trips. As I have a very sensitive stomach, new source of food is always a concern for me. I can say I never had any trip spoiled because the food in Denny's. Yes I have been in Denny's places where the waitress wasn't so friendly. But in this location I must give the waitress and the owner the Thumb up!! read more

My family and i went to eat dinner if was a special day, our kids mc and cheese tasted days old and i order a avocado bacon burger and there was a fkn dead fly on one of the pickles in the burger they "replaced" the plate but honestly i was discussed by it did not eat it, was not even sure if they actually replaced it because i had cut the hamburger before and if they were going to make a new hamburger it would of been a whole not cut! While waiting for our Breakfast to arrive...we couldn't help but notice just how filthy the restaurant is. For starters the first thing you see is the Toy machine. It is totally covered with yucky fingerprints. Most of the time it is also out of order. Dennys, GET RID OF IT. The Blinds are also gross with dust and again yucky fingerprints. Its scary to think about the table we are seated at should the sunlight shine on it. Upon leaving we noticed trash in the parking lot and even on the front lawn.
