Build your own omelette with hash browns, one of their Hearty 9-Grain Pancakes and a Diet Coke.
Lucy O.

This meal was just what I needed after hiking the Big Pine Lakes trail. I ordered the build your own omelette and added ham, spinach, mushrooms, onions and avocado. I was also able to order one of their hearty 9-grain pancakes on the side and a Diet Coke. My server was very nice and brought out everything that I needed. She even brought me some of their house salsa. The main con of this Denny's is that it's not very clean and looks like it could use some upgrades. Other than that, the food was yummy and the service was excellent.

Dirty plate from a normal breakfast

Service? Not fair that there is 1 server in the entire restaurant. How would we expect service if she is so busy. There were many cooks and cleaning staff. Front of the house is the flaw here. 10 minute wait to get seated and still waiting for a check. It's been 20 minutes. For the record it's not crowded. Denny's management-fix this problem. You need to staff accordingly. Sad day here today.

My custom burger, SO good!

I can see why they have the low reviews but let's give them credit where credit is due.. The lows: It's not the cleanest place.. definitely could use some deep cleaning on the flooring, maybe sanitize the tables and seats, clean the finger smudges off the windows, etc. The waitress was somewhat of a stranger to her own job.. she had no knowledge of the menu and at one point argued with us. One of the menu items came with a side of soup but said at the bottom that the side could be substituted.. she claimed it could not and even said that the menu did NOT say that. She refused to look at the menu when we tried pointing it out. When I ordered my meal and told her I wanted a specific topping she claimed they didn't carry that item when it was represented on the menu. The same waitress was hard to find, she took forever to take our order and only came back to the table once.. we even had to grab someone else when we wanted our check because she kept running past without a glance. I'd like to add that it was not busy, there were maybe only 3 other tables with guests. The highs: The waitress who we had to grab for help was great, she was apologetic and friendly and made us feel more at ease. The food was amazing!!! I'm not sure who they have cooking but this was the best Denny's meal that I have ever had sober! I got a burger with my own chosen toppings and it was delicious. Juicy, full of flavor, and messy in all the right ways. The onion rings were a little heavy on breading but crunched perfectly and we're not greasy as onion rings tend to be. If we're ever passing through Bishop we might stop here again just for the food.

Mold on my friends food. The worst part about it is they tried to serve it anyway and tried to hide it with resecting it and sauce.

Service is terrible. Will be avoiding this restaurant next time we are going up to Idaho. Not impressed with the food either.

This place was very dirty and the waitress was really rude. I got the strawberry shake and it had a hair in it and it had mold in it.

Aaron Schat's Roadhouse - Juicy burger cooked to perfection

We travel through Bishop once or twice a year. We know the Schat's bakery gets all the love, but…read morethe Roadhouse?? Yes please!!! Hubby and I stopped in for a late lunch on our journey home after a quick trip to Disneyland the day prior. It's a long drive, so Bishop is about halfway to home. We don't like traveling with leftovers, so we often share a meal. Yesterday was the Bluey Armstrong burger with a side of the garlic Parmesan fries. The burger was great! Juicy, cooked to perfection, and so flavorful. But the fries? For the love of all that's good those fries sent me on a trip straight to heaven. I wouldn't say I'm a fry snob, but I do know what I like, and these were possibly the best garlic parm fries I've ever had. So much so that I told my hubby I'd recommend going on a 6 hour girls' trip just for the fries. (My gal pals and I do weird trips for stuff like this.) Long story short(ish) stop here for food. You will be saying "get in my belly" with the only regret that it isn't closer to your home. Unless you live in Bisho, in which case you are a lucky person.

Aaron Schat's Roadhouse came up as the best suggestion and it did not disappoint! It was only 11am but we started with 2 pints of Coor's lol. Then we ordered 2 Shot Gun burgers and beer battered fries. They were so delicious! The burger patty was freshly made and the bun was a cheese type bun from their bakery. The fries were so crispy. 1 basket of fries would have been enough to share but we ordered 2 not knowing and force fed ourselves to finish it all lol. We will definitely add this to our bishop stop on future trips!

Right away when I walked in, I noticed how clean the restaurant was, and even the bathroom was nice and spotless which always says a lot. Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town!

Unfortunately, ever since the ownership changed, the experience has gone downhill. The customer service is consistently rude and unwelcoming. It feels like staff are irritated just having to take your order. The food is now overpriced for the quality you get, which is a big change from how it used to be. I stopped going for about a year, but recently decided to give it another chance. I called in an order for myself and my disabled grandfather, who only has one arm. I politely asked multiple times if they could please cut the steak for him and even explained why. They clearly seemed annoyed by the request. When I picked up the food, everything looked rushed and just thrown into the boxes--and the steak was not cut. The rest of the meal was just as disappointing. The taquitos were plain with only cheese on top--no sides like guacamole or sour cream, especially disappointing for the price. The loaded potato wasn't even "loaded," just a plain potato. Between the poor service, lack of care, and declining food quality, this place is nothing like it used to be. It's honestly sad to see something that used to feel welcoming and enjoyable turn into somewhere I now dread going. I wouldn't recommend stopping here anymore. There are better places in town that actually value their customers.

Tri-tip, brisket, and rib ribs. Came with two sides and a huge slab of cornbread! The ribs and the brisket do not need any sauce whatsoever. The meal also came with a piece of cornbread. The cost of the sampler is $28. Brisket had a decent bark, although im not certain both sides of the brisket was seasoned but it was pretty tender. The smoke on the brisket was pretty aggressive, leaving ALMOST a bitter taste. Thankfully, I like a pretty aggressive smoke. Nice smoke flavor on the tri tip but also seemed to lack seasoning. Was otherwise pretty good. The sausage ended up tasting pretty good! The beans might have been ever so slightly undercooked, but otherwise tasted good. The mac and cheese says it is baked, but honestly, its hard to tell aside from the burnt cheese on top. Other than that, it was alright. The best part of the experience was the servers. They were super friendly and regularly checked on the guests. All in all, the food was just ok. Not sure it would be my first choice in eating spots in town though, especially considering the prices.

The strawberry and cream waffle was also delicious and not too sweet ! it tasted more natural versus artificially sweetened. Our server, Josh, was very tentative and had recommended the strawberry waffle. He came back to check if he needed any additional sauces as well as coffee/water refills. Service was prompt and the food came out quickly! Which was great since we had a long drive home.
