Came here for dinner and the food was very good. The Mac and cheese is heavenly, and I could have gotten full on this alone. I got the tri tip sandwich. The meat was tender and fell apart in your mouth. There's nothing fancy about this spot (it's BBQ, kind of a given), but it was a good spot to meet with a group of people and have a yummy dinner. Service was whatever, otherwise it would have gotten 5 stars from me!

Who would've thought I'd find such good bbq otw to Mammoth. Ordered the sampler platter with brisket, tri tip and ribs. All of the meats were extremely tender! ribs fall of the bone. The tri tip was juicy and tender almost to the point where I thought i was eating the brisket, but then I had the brisket and that one literally melted in my mouth!

This is a great stop when traveling through Bishop. You order at the counter and then your food is brought to your table, so although I wouldn't consider it fast food, the service is pretty quick. I had the Tri-Tip Sandwhich. The Sandwhich is a generous size and it comes with one side. I tried the Coleslaw, which was really good and it made a good contrast with the BBQ flavor. At the table, there are also several BBQ sauces to choose from. My only gripe is that the bread wasn't toasted enough, so it got a little soggy, but the meat was tender and it had really good flavor. The restaurant itself is cozy and does have that rustic vibe you would expect from a Texas BBQ Restaurant.

Holy Smoke is a hidden gem in Bishop. The food was seriously amazing, full of flavor and cooked right. You can feel the patriotic, faith-based family vibe the moment you walk in, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Great BBQ, great people, great atmosphere. Definitely worth stopping by!

We stopped here on a whim during our drive home from Death Valley when we were craving some BBQ. Upon arrival we were greeted by staff and placed our order. We got two of the platters where we got to choose three meats and two sides for each. As a family of four (kids aged 5&9)this was enough to fill us all up. We had tri-tip, brisket, chicken, and mild sausage with Mac N Cheese and beans and two giant thighs of cornbread. After placing our order we picked out seats. Due to weather (it was about 26° out and had snowed in the days prior) we sat inside where the decor was what you'd expect from a Texas Style BBQ restaurant. The mountains surrounding the area were an amazing backdrop as they were beautifully covered in snow. Overall the food was good... tri tip and brisket were amazing. They had various BBQ sauces at each table that were also amazing. We'd definitely stop in again if we were out that way.

Fabulous Mac n Cheese (could have used a bit of smoke) as well as brisket and sausage sandwiches.

My son and I were returning from Bakersfield,CA and stopped for a late lunch around 3:30. This establishment was open on a Sunday afternoon and just humming. The feel is definitely comfortable and casual, as rolls of paper towels are used for napkins. We opted for two sandwiches and had them cut in half and both of us got to share the brisket sandwich and smoked sausage. Our side was not shared as we both wanted their Mac n Cheese. Wow was this good! My son loved the Ghost pepper bbq sauce that was definitely too hot for me. This is an order at the counter place , and they promptly bring you your meal out on a tray when its ready. Enjoy!

Delicious bbq in the heart of bishop. Came in on a Saturday 5pm, and it was quite empty, but started filling up as soon as we got there. I ordered the sampler platter with pulled pork, chicken, and tri-tip. For my sides I picked the baked beans and the mac n cheese. I'd say this sampler platter feeds one and half people. Everything was delicious, but my least favorite was the pulled pork. Way too dry. Chicken was falling off the bone. Very tender. I love that they had spicy BBQ sauce. Maria took our order and she was friendly and kind. Thanks Maria :)

If you ever go to Bishop, go here at least once. Food was so tasty and filling. Even though the interior was small, service was still so nice to us. One problem however, the sauces that were labeled "Hot" and "Spicy" weren't spicy at all. The only one that was spicy was the ghost pepper one. Besides that, everything was good overall.

Recently we were in Bishop after going to Manzanar and having to stop by Eric Shat's but wanted some dinner before driving to Palmdale. We browsed on Yelp for something for two adults and a teen to eat and came across Holy Smoke. It looked very good so we decided to go. My nephew as being a typical teen and wouldn't help decide what to eat so we ordered him a large side of mac and cheese and then got a sampler with three meats, mac and cheese, cornbread and beans. We ordered the tri tip, brisket and spicy sausage. The spicy sausage was SPICY! Very good and lived up to the name. The tri tip was very good. Nice and moist and well seasoned. We asked for more of the tender/fatty brisket and it was lovely. They had a few sauce choices on the table and I liked their original house sauce. My nephew actually really liked the mac and cheese and then tried the tri tip and brisket and liked them both. Overall, everything was great. The service was great and it was really cutely decorated inside. I would definitely go again!

Always my go to BBQ spot! I always come here when I go to Mammoth! You won't regret giving this place a try! Highly recommend.

4 stars. Holy Smoke delivers exactly what you want from a no-frills Texas-style BBQ spot. The sausage was unexpectedly juicy, the brisket had great flavor and tenderness, and the baked potato was a quiet standout -- simple but really satisfying. The ribs leaned a bit sweeter than I prefer, but still well-prepared. This is a casual, order-at-the-counter setup with quick turnaround, perfect if you're craving BBQ without the wait. Service is efficient, though the interaction at the counter felt a little rough around the edges. Nothing that took away from the meal, but something to note. Overall, a solid and straightforward BBQ experience with generous portions and good flavors. Worth a stop if you're in the area and want something hearty and fast.

Service was rude, not friendly at all. The food was absolutely disgusting & disappointing. It looked pretty good. Now I've had Texas style barbecue but this was just meat slightly heated. It was so greasy and had no flavor. Even the chicken was unseasoned. The corn bread also very dry and bland and no amount of butter could save it. Potato salad was decent. But the Mac and cheese was also very greasy. Ordered a root beer float and they later showed up with a cup with ice cream in it, if it was a build your own root beer float then I would have just had one at home. Just overall not worth it. Would give them 0 stars if I could. Just WARNING do not eat here.

Ordered the Longhorn, a full rack of High on the Hog ribs, and the Redneck Taco. First thing first: these portions are NOT Texas-sized. Don't play me. Even I know that--and I've been through Texas a few times back in the day "on business" (iykyk ). That said, the flavor goes hard, so let's talk food. The meats were solid across the board. Brisket and ribs deserve real respect. The brisket was smooth, tender, basically melted in my mouth. The ribs were well-seasoned, deep smoky flavor, and cooked right. Best part? Those slightly burnt, charred edges--slow-smoked, fragrant, straight fire. The Redneck Taco is cornbread stuffed with pulled pork and coleslaw. That cornbread soaks up all the meat juice and slaw sauce, so one bite is heavy and satisfying. If you hate soft or soaked textures, this might not be your thing--but flavor-wise, it works. Plus, the pork, slaw, and cornbread are all solid on their own. Sides were on point: * Mac & cheese came a little burnt, but low-key better that way--extra smoky, thick, and cheesy. * Coleslaw is light and clean, good palate reset. * Cornbread isn't legendary, but it does the job. Sauces: * Spicy is the move--balanced, not screaming chili, lets the meat talk. * Hot got too much chili energy, started bullying the meat. * Regular is cool, no drama. Didn't even touch the ghost sauce--wasn't trying to fight demons that day. Bottom line: Flavor's legit, meat is cooked right, just don't come in expecting Texas-size portions. I'd pull up again for the brisket and ribs alone. Solid 4 stars.

What I got instead was a dealer who treated my losses like a personal comedy special. Every hand I lost was met with smirks, chuckles, and full-on laughter -- not subtle, not professional, but the kind of laugh you give when you want someone to feel stupid. Nothing says "hospitality" like being mocked while losing money. It gets worse. This same dealer actively pressured me to bet more, repeatedly pushing me to raise my wager like he was my financial advisor with a personal vendetta. "Come on, one more hand," "Double it," "You'll win it back" -- constant, uncomfortable, predatory commentary. I didn't come to be hustled by the person running the table. And then the cherry on top: He announced it was the "last shoe" -- only for me to later find out there were THIRTY MINUTES left before the table actually closed. Thirty. Minutes. The only explanation? He wanted to go home early and didn't care who he misled to do it. Lying to players to speed up your shift is next-level unprofessional. But wait -- there's more. * Cards were slapped down aggressively like the dealer was mad at me for losing * Zero table etiquette -- rules changed depending on his mood * Eye-rolling when I asked basic questions * A vibe so hostile it felt like I was inconveniencing the staff by existing * Management nowhere to be found, as if this behavior is completely normal here Casinos are supposed to be fun, exciting, and at the very least neutral. This felt like psychological warfare with chips involved. I've played blackjack in plenty of casinos. I've lost money before -- that's part of the game. What I've never experienced is being laughed at, pressured, lied to, and rushed out by a dealer who clearly had zero respect for players or the integrity of the table. Do yourself a favor: take your money, your time, and your dignity literally anywhere else. Wahaana Casino doesn't deserve any of the three.

As other customers have commented, they make you feel like you're an inconvenience and charge you for it. Yet wait for it -because my friend went in today the very same day on Mother's Day totally different group of people and she had a bad experience too! On Mother's Day, I ordered an arugula salad (it wasn't on the menu yet I saw others eating it). It looked amazing, and I substituted the prosciutto for pesto/olive tapenade--great veggie option. Yes, the owners should make this a menu item. I also ordered a delicious Muscat dessert wine and a cupcake, and everything was pretty awesome. I asked why it wasn't on the menu, and they said people just come in knowing what to order. Several times I've ordered something from the menu, only to be told it's not available, which is confusing because then it comes back on the menu, and they get annoyed when you order something that is supposed to be served. Anyway, everything was great; I was treating myself and happy to splurge... until... Right after I received my food, the server immediately asked for my card. I requested her to bring the bill at the end, as usual, since I wasn't prepared to order more, and I thought the amount was enough. The rose frozen yogurt looked yum, so I decided to use a small sample cup instead of the plastic ones, as the girls were in the back. I didn't want to bother them and thought it would be a fun way to avoid waste. She rushed out with another server, almost making a scene--embarrassing, as I was about to take a photo and mention folks should eat there. She asked me to pay for the sample. I decided not to, and I'm glad I sent it back because the secret salad, not on the menu, was $20, and the wine along with the cupcake turned out to be nearly $40. Every place I've worked at that makes the customer happy usually gets a great tip! You'd think a sample wouldn't be a big deal. I definitely let her know, especially since it was already pricey. Sadly, this isn't the first time I've had service that's just not very nice. I want to let the owners know I love your location and your place, but the service is often rude. The blonde server was sweet and great, but the other "manager" was not. Many people I try to bring here cringe- we like the place, but they say the service is rude. The women make you feel uncomfortable with disapproving looks. Especially today, it's a day to honor mothers. If not, you'll hear from us with our tip. Tip: Would be a 5, but the energy of the servers drops it to a 2; the food raises it to a 3. Owners, you should know. I didn't leave a cash tip-- would have left $10 to be treated well. That's my tip. Every time we go back, we wonder if we want to deal with a mean server. Every time. then my friend, who also went there today for Mother's Day with her entire family they have a huge family. They brought four kids for adult adults and this is what she told me after I shared my review. "That's so crazy that you sent that they were so rude to me today the dark haired lady when I asked her what cupcake flavors she had left. It was like I was pulling teeth to get the flavors from her service is always crappy here." Owners please talk to your staff. They are just not nice.
