The foods good. The menu has a lot of traditional American food, both breakfast and lunch. The service is okay and the staff is nice. It's not mind blowing great, but it's pretty decent for the area. The hot sauce is really good so you Should experience all 3 options

Sometimes I require a breakfast burrito. This adorable mexi-diner is small-town and tasty. There is something very wholesome about the under-the-sea decor that is cheesy in just the right way. Service is fast, super polite, and to food is great. The coffee wasn't bad either. Definitely happy that I stopped in..

Overall, a decent option for Mexican food in Bishop. There was no wait for seating, the service was decent, and the food came quickly. Chips & salsa are complementary, the hot salsa had a small kick but was not very flavorful. I ordered the taquito plate, which was a hearty portion and I enjoyed it. The rice and refried beans were flavorful, and the taquitos were satisfyingly crunchy. I think the shredded beef could have been more tender, but overall it was good. I would like to come back to try another meal!

Came on a Sunday for lunch with a group of friends. The service here is amazing - our server started us off with chips and 6 types of delicious salsa! They had mild, medium, green, avocado, and spicy chipotle salsas to satisfy a range of patrons and their spiciness levels. Our server kept refilling the chips and was super sweet and attentive throughout the entire meal. I ordered the Big Tostada that came loaded with rice, re-fried beans, asada, lettuce, guacamole, cheese, and sour cream. I was only able to finish half as the portion sizes here are huge! Would definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area.

With the look of a diner crossed with a palapa on the beach, El Ranchito puts out good, if not great, Mexican fare. Offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu at El Ranchito has American and Mexican selections for any time of day. From hamburgers with fries and breakfast burritos to three-egg omelettes and the usual selection of tacos and burritos, there is something for everyone. Piled high with moist roast chicken, onions, finely chopped tomatoes and fresh cilantro, the tacos Mexicanos ($14.50) are served with Mireya's rice and either Mayacoba (refried) or black beans. While the black beans were a little too al dente, the combination plate was very good. With a copious amount of either octopus or shrimp, the seafood cockteil (small: $14, large: $18) is chocked full of diced tomato, cucumber, onion, cilantro and avocado and bathed in a rich, spicy tomato broth. Refreshing, spicy and filling at the same time. The small is sufficient for one person, while the large could easily serve as an appetizer for two. Staff was friendly and efficient, as was the kitchen: diners' needs were met promptly, and the food came out rapidamente. Pro tip: El Ranchito has five different salsas, all made in-house: tomatillo verde (packs a little kick), chile de arbol, aguacate (avocado-based, creamy and mild), salsa ranchera (medium spicy), salsa roja (mild) and chipotle. If they are not proffered, be sure to ask for them. Good, honest and well-priced, El Ranchito is worth a try if you are in Bishop and have a craving for a Mexican food.

Very good Mexican Restaurant. Grabbed a bite on way to Tahoe and made sure to do the same on the return trip. Highly recommended.

Things to buy here for sure while you're there: - Pull Apart Bread - 8/10: different variations, but all sweet, gooey, decadent. It's like the traditional cinnamon roll's raunchy cousin. - Pastrami sandwich - 10/10: good lord this is delicious. Easily top 5 sandwiches I've ever had. Hefty and filling for sure. The meat isn't your run-of-the-mill, dry, salty pastrami that you'll get at your local deli. They use premium naval cuts that are lightly seasoned, juicy, fatty, and super tender. The Swiss is also soft and spongy, very similar to mozzarella. You can pretty much eat that all by itself. And the rye bread is artisinal elite level, as expected. Freshly baked and super soft. So damn good I nearly schat my pants!! - Original Sheepherder Bread - 8.5/10: 100-plus year-old recipe. Tried and true. Great for sandwiches or even just toasted with whatever spread that floats your boat. Versatile and superb. Another thing to note: this place is fully staffed and they have their stuff together. So ordering and getting your stuff goes pretty fast even with the long lines. Super efficient, friendly staff and establishment. A great time was had by all.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm, nostalgic atmosphere that feels like stepping back into a simpler time. Every bite hit the spot and reminded us why local diners like this are so special. A special shout-out to Erica, who made our visit even better. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and always seemed to know exactly what we needed before we had to ask. Her positive attitude and excellent service truly elevated the entire experience. He took our drink order immediately and gave us time to decide what to order. He checked on us periodically and left the bill while explaining we could take our time. This a large restaurant with lots of comfortable seating. They have a bakery case in front filled with pies, muffins and cookies. They were very tempting. The restrooms were clean with multiple stalls, and a designated parking lot is adjacent to the restaurant. I ordered the Eggs Benedict served with hash browns. Everything was delicious. The Hollandaise sauce was perfect, creamy, hint of lemon, and just the right amount. The ham steak on the Benedict was thick and flavorful. The hash browns were very tasty as well. My husband ordered the bacon and cheddar omelette with crispy hash browns. The omelette was large and loaded with bacon and covered in cheddar. He thoroughly enjoyed it as well as the crispy hash browns. His came with a choice of toast and he got the biscuit with gravy. He shared the biscuit with me and let me tell you it was heavenly-soft, buttery with just the right crumble. I ate mine with jelly and he loved the country gravy. Know that this place is very busy on the weekend. We will add this to our regular stops while traveling through town. I hope you give them a try and enjoy it as much as we did.
