I love the burritos, and the tamales. I go at least once a week, and Carentina is always there with a smile.

This place deserves 50 million stars!!! First of all the food is so delicious--the best way I can…read moreput it is that every component of their food is prepared to such a high degree of quality--from the creaminess of beans, seasoning or the rice, quality of meats, the depth and complexity to their salsas (do not miss out of their red salsa)--you can tell it's made with love and care. The flavors and individual components of their food just comes together so well, with a balance and synergy that is rare to find. We drive up to Bishop at least a couple times a year from Los Angeles, and in addition to the backcountry, this place is one of the main reasons ther motivates us to return. Food is based on 150 year old family recipes that originated in Guadalajara. On top of that, the people that own and operate this business are so friendly? pleasant and hospitable. Thank you Brenda, Andrew, Ariabella, Abuelo and the others I missed for operating this place! Please come open up a place in Los Angeles if you ever choose to expand!!!

Picked up some tacos late night. It's a cute little food truck parked in a neighborhood a little…read morefurther out of town. The chef / owner is very energetic and friendly. Ordered a bunch of different tacos to go : lengua, pastor, cabeza, chicken. They were all very delicious and authentic. However, I still prefer the taco place Tacos Y tortas La Chiquita in Arlington VA better! Ordering took a while because he prefers cash and I didn't bring any, his credit card machine wasn't working well and it took a long time before the internet got connected to be able to pay. Also... I was a little bit worried about how clean things are, the chef was handling money, his phone, the credit card tablet with his hands, not wearing gloves or sanitizing in between... luckily I didn't get sick afterwards.

Unfortunately, had really wanted to like this place and give it a 5 star but the first taste…read moreencounter caught us off guard. Spring Rolls & Summer Rolls: 2 Star. My friend and I both ordered summer roll (pork and lettuce wrapped in rice paper) and spring rolls (shrimp and lettuce wrapped in rice paper) at $12 for 4 rolls. The Vietnamese owner lady was very nice and let us order them as a mixture of 2 spring rolls and 2 summer rolls as one order. Freshly made to order. They look and taste very "home made", also on the smaller side compared to what I'm used to (lots of Vietnamese restaurants near where I live), and these rolls do not come with rice noodles as many others I'm used to. All that aside, we took our very first bite a few hours later and my friend immediately felt stands of hard thin strings in her mouth, and spitting out SEVERAL STRANDS of short hair, which is not the same color as her own long hair. Shocking. Very shocking. My rolls were just fine with no foreign substances, however the more we eat the more we are getting grossed out from the encounter...she didn't finish eating that roll with hair in it and continue to eat 2 out of the 3 rolls left and so did I, since we were both very hungry and it was our only food option during the long journey, but the whole time we were getting more and more grossed out and none of us ate the 4th last roll in our order. Payment: She accepts credit card or Venmo, but any other form of payment besides cash would be an extra dollar of up charge. Instead of paying $13 for a $12 item, we decided to scramble for cash to pay her. Location: One of three food trucks located in a dirt road parking lot with active large and live mosquitoes flying around attacking us while we order food and dine. A Mexican taco truck each to the left and right side of this Vietnamese food truck. Other: This lady owner says she's had her business here for 5 years now. Had wanted to try several items on the menu but already made a purchase with the taco truck to its right. Perhaps it's a good thing, because the sanitary and hygiene issue here is questionable. I hope she starts to wear a hair net when she preps food. I mean, I understand we all shred hair daily and she must of been working hard to chop the veggies and hand roll each spring roll...but we really don't need that evidence in the form of strands of hair in our food...

Authentic Vietnamese cuisine! This food comes from a food truck in a spacious parking lot…read more The Bbq Sandwich (Banh Mi Thit Nuong) is so good and for $12, you're tummy and wallet will be happy! This was the best part of our meal. We also tried the vegetarian spring rolls and the bbq beef rice noodle (#13). I was disappointed in the measly portion of beef on my plate. The banh mi was definitely the better option. I do recommend this place either way if you're craving Vietnamese :)
