    $15 roast beef sandwich
    Zack W.

Very average. Not great, not bad at all. Paid $15 for a roast beef sandwich. Thought it was a little pricey. It was decent. Fresh ingredients, okay size. Inside was dirty, had to clean off a table since they were all dirty. The sandwich came out very quick for how busy they were which was nice. Girl that took my order was friendly. It's one of the few places in town that isn't fast food. I'd probably try another spot before going straight back again.

I absolutely loooooove this bakery. It's a cute little spot that I stumbled upon looking for breakfast a few years ago. Just now writing a review on it, very long overdue. We drive up pretty often from ventura county so that's a few hours away. This is a MUST pit stop any time I pass by. I've been here way too many times to count. Their bagels are amazingly delicious. I don't want to sound too obsessed but i dream about their bagels lol I wish I was closer to the bakery. They're the best i've had. Plain with cream cheese or bagel sandwich, can't go wrong. Staff is so friendly there and quick service. Cannot recommend enough.

Stopped in down the street to charge my car and decided to give Great Basin a chance again to fill the lunch void. This time, left totally happy, the sandwiches are fantastic and the take home sourdough bread made a hell of a trip sandwich for dinner. Our favorite was by far the Muffuletta Sandwich, packed with meat and flavorful as can be. The rest of the family got BLAT's (Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado, Tomato) which were good as well, but the Muffuletta is really the way to go. We got a cookie again this time, the Lemon Butter, and this one seemed way better than last time. Maybe the recipe changed or maybe last time was just a fluke. I will for sure stop here again for lunch as we pass though. Only time I am actually in Bishop is going to and from LA/Reno, but I always charge in the lot behind Great Basin.

Asiago bagel with all the extras.

I got an asiago bagel with all the extras. It was the best bagel sandwich I've ever had. I got an extra one for the trail. It came out so fast.

Way better than Schatt's when it comes to bread and cookies. Those are the clear strengths here. We tried the peach pie and the coffee and neither really impressed. That said, the place is small, charming, and the people are really nice. The bathroom is literally you walking behind the back and going to their bathrooms lol. As long as you know what to get and stick to the bread and cookies, it absolutely delivers. Service: Very nice and welcoming Food/Drinks: Excellent bread and cookies, peach pie and coffee were underwhelming Ambiance: Small, cozy, and local 10/10 Know what to order and it can easily feel like a 10 out of 10 experience

Great Basin Bakery is a wonderful bakery located in Bishop on the way to the mountains. This spot is super popular and for good reason! They are serving up delicious and fresh and sandwiches. Also they are known for their cookies and fresh baked breads. It's a must stop for a causal breakfast or lunch. This bakery is located downtown and our GPS got us here just fine. We parked on the street and walked quickly across to the bakery. Pro tip is to order ahead online. When we got here there was a line about 10 people deep. We were able to bypass the line and go to the back where their pick up area is, we gave our name and they handed over our sandwiches immediately. There is limited seating inside and it is pretty much a takeout spot. However, if you can snag a seat, there are a few tables, but I would say 90% of the people here were taking the food to go. That's why I would recommend placing an online order for pick up because it just made the whole process really quick and the sandwiches were super fresh, they hadn't been sitting around, etc.. I went with the cold roast beef sandwich, which as simple as it was - it really was delicious. 5/5 stars! The roast beef was generous, and the tomato and lettuce was very fresh. It came with a thick slice of American cheese and the horseradish mayonnaise sauce was phenomenal. I ordered extra horseradish cream sauce on the side and they didn't charge me for it, which was very nice of them. The sandwich was honestly just so well crafted and generous with the portions, that it's a solid sandwich. Prices were pretty reasonable as it was under $19 for a sandwich and some chips. I know you can make sandwiches cheaper at home but sometimes a good deli sandwich is worth the price and the convenience of just coming to picking up. Staff here were very friendly and welcoming. It's a busy spot and a lot is going on but the quality and care by the staff is still 100% there. The inside is a bit outdated, but it more gives a homie old-school vibe. They do have bathrooms in the back and they were clean, so it's great if you need a quick rest stop. This is definitely a local gem and if you stop here, you're in for a treat of a really classic old-school sandwich.

The best breakfast bagel sandwiches in town. Local no frills spot for quality food. Quick and friendly service with hot sandwiches loaded with egg and meat (I got ham) for a reasonable price. You can choose your bagel flavor and add protein option for an additional charge. They have fresh bread and pastries, and a self slicer if you get a loaf. The pizza bagel was especially delicious!

My favorite stop in bishop. Mt. Tom sandwich, bread, all pastries, molasses and Sierra mud cookies are all my favorite. The best thing is that you can place an order online.

Once getting to the counter to order, the lady helping me didn't seem that pleasant. As a matter of fact, no one at the sandwich counter was smiling or seemed like they had a good attitude. I ordered a Turkey Club Sandwich and the BBQ turkey sandwich. Once my mom and I got to the register, it took a LONG time before the employee at the register (Ruiz) rang us up. She seemed like she was doing other tasks and had no urgency WHATSOEVER in continuing to help the next customer in such a LONG line. Once she finally got to the register, the first thing I did was point to the Turkey Club box to let her know it was Turkey club and she immediately CUT ME OFF and said, "I know what it is" and then a second later said, "oh I didn't realize there wasn't a label." She was incredibly SNAPPY and didn't smile, which ruined my day. Overall, I wasn't content with the service at the sandwich counter. The inadequate service plus the BBQ turkey sandwich to be BARELY adequate, was completely underwhelming. Later on, I went to the area with all the baked goods and was excited to see the vast selection! The ladies there were very warm, super forthcoming to help, and absolutely pleasant. Marie was incredibly patient with all my questions and requests for everything I picked out. I was happy with her service since she was very sweet and pleasant. In conclusion, if you're expecting phenomenal service from the sandwich counter, keep your expectations extremely LOW. You'll have better luck at the bakery.

The bakery has so many different breads, cookies, pastries and more. The problem with the bakery is that there are no price tags. It was a no brainer to try his restaurant. Menu is fairly wide ranging - burgers to steak to salads and more. Limited options for vegetarians. The food was slightly above average and prices were reasonable. We didn't expect foodie quality eats here. You place an order at the counter and food is brought to you. Service was pretty much non existent. Food Review: Rotisserie Chicken Half ($17.95) is one of their signature dishes and comes with 2 large sides. We choose lime cilantro rice and black beans. The chicken was average, slightly overcooked and included a tortilla and pico pico. 7.5/10 Broccoli Side ($1.95) was huge portion of perfectly healthy broccoli. 9/10 Garden Salad ($10.95) is pretty average but of large size. 7.5/10 Overall - Good Food - Good Decor - Good Service - Good Value - Excellent Would we return? - Maybe
