It's the kind of place you go for a celebration or a big night out. We started with drinks, and they were solid across the board. The espresso martinis were strong and well balanced, and the cocktails like the blood orange spritzer ($19) were refreshing and not overly sweet. For appetizers, the wagyu meatballs and octopus stood out. The octopus had a nice char and the waygu meatballs were flavored well. For mains, we tried a mix: double bone lamb chops ($77), braised short rib ($66), crab cake ($56), and sea bass ($52). The lamb chops were cooked well and had great flavor, definitely one of the stronger dishes. The short rib was tender and rich. The sea bass was buttery and well executed. The crab cake was okay - a little weird that they added chunks of red peppers to it. The lobster mac and cheese ($27) and asparagus ($17) were good sides, with the asparagus being thickk! We also had a couple bottles of Pinot Noir (Lingua Franca and Boen), both good choices that paired nicely with the meal. That said, service was noticeably slow throughout the night. Drinks took a while, courses were spaced out more than they should have been, and it just felt like we were waiting a lot. One thing that really shouldn't happen at a restaurant like this: one of my drinks came in a cracked glass. That's honestly unacceptable, especially given the price point and reputation. Del Frisco's... come on now. You all know I hate leaving less-than-stellar reviews, especially for restaurants at this price point. When I'm spending around $120 per person, my expectations are naturally much higher. Let's start with the positives. Parking is what it is because... it's DC lol. I'd definitely recommend using a rideshare if you can. If not, there are several garages nearby. The team that greeted us outside was fantastic. It was raining, and I had a freshly pressed head of hair that I was trying to preserve with my life . One of the gentlemen quickly opened the door and helped me inside. The hostesses were equally kind and seated me in a comfortable area while I waited for the rest of my party. Now you're probably wondering, "Okay... so what's the problem?" Unfortunately, everything changed once we were seated upstairs. Our reservation started around 7:30 p.m., and we didn't leave until almost 10:00 p.m. Not because we were having the time of our lives, but because we spent most of the evening waiting. We were seated quickly, but it took about 15 minutes before anyone introduced themselves, brought us water, or took our drink order. There were only four of us. We ordered an Old Fashioned, a mojito, a Coca-Cola, and one of the restaurant's nonalcoholic beverages. About 30 minutes later, three of the drinks arrived. My friend's bottled Coca-Cola didn't arrive until another 15 minutes later. A bottle of Coke. By the time all of our drinks had arrived and we were finally able to order dinner, roughly 45 minutes had already passed. Our food didn't arrive until around 9:00 p.m. From what we could see, the restaurant didn't appear particularly busy. Maybe they were short-staffed. I honestly don't know. I just know the pacing of the evening felt far too slow. As for the food, I ordered the fish with crab fried rice and asparagus. The asparagus and rice were both good, but the fish was a little dry and had a faint freezer taste. The rest of my party described their meals as simply "okay." For a restaurant at this price point, "okay" isn't really what you're hoping for. I also noticed that the restroom locks were a little wonky, and our server rarely checked in throughout the meal. I don't mind paying for a good dinner, but when the service is slow, the food is inconsistent, and the overall experience feels underwhelming, it's difficult to justify the cost and the desire to return. This is a staple in DC. It's always busy and overall the food and drinks will be good. Last minute decision to grab dinner here with a friend. Sat at the bar (because we were very casual) which was kinda busy. At first the bartenders weren't very attentive or friendly. We waited to be acknowledged and get menu for like 10 minutes. We almost just decided to get a table but waited it out. Not sure what that was about but the bartenders finally got their moods together and became nicer and attentive. We ordered a few cocktails and I got the braised short ribs and my friend got the surf and turf along with Rockefeller oysters. Everything was good. My friend had the Rockefeller oysters, and those were just as good. For my entrée, I had the Chilean sea bass with the fried rice that had crab in it, and it was so good. The sea bass was perfectly flaky, and the fried rice had big chunks of lump crab that made it even better. The bread was also wonderful so light, fluffy, and full of buttery flavor. My friend got the surf and turf, and we were pleasantly surprised because we were not expecting three pieces of steak. It was amazing. Her boyfriend got the salmon with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was so good. rich, smoky, and full of flavor. For dessert, they brought out a butter cake for my friend's birthday, and that was truly the star of the show. It has been over a month and I still think about that cake. We were out running errands without any dinner plans in sight. He then thought, it's been a while! So here is where we came for dinner. We sat at the upstairs bar, were able to get a seat rather quickly before it got completely full. One thing that grossed me out a bit was watching a waiter pick something out of a customer drink by hand and sniff the drink--like nose all up in the cup--before whisking it away to an unknowing patron. Like ma'am? Unsanitary--have you not learned a thing or two over the past couple years! I also saw the bartender removing glasses from the dishwasher before it finished its cycle... again, unsanitary!!! But but i only observed each offense once. Aside from that? Bar team was fantabulous--attentive, helpful. Now it took well over 30 min for our oysters and lobster bisque starters to come out. Bc of that we were given a free cheesecake that we crushed when we got home. My lobster bisque was creamy, budding with flavor. They did not skimp on the lobster bits either, well done! The portion is absolutely made for 2--if you eat this all by yourself you are greedy you hear me?! lol. He loved the oysters and the fresh minnionete--he said they were some of the best he's had this oyster season! My lamb chops were cooked perfectly well and so was his steak. Even though I've been many times, Sunday Funday was my chance to come back to Double Eagle with MY guy! Ambiance is finer causal dining experience, I wouldn't say you have to be dressed up, as I've come causal but I've also come dressed up. Totally can do both. Let's get into it! I am a Landry's President Club member. Well, that didn't matter at this location. Whenever I go to a Landry's restaurant as a President Club member, the manager always comes over to greet me and my experience is always validated. Well, not here. They could've cared less...that is until it was time to use my points to pay. What a train-wreck. Presenting my president's card to pay has ALWAYS been seamless at every other restaurant in the Landry's portfolio EXCEPT here. I don't even think they credited me properly for the meal. I ordered the pork chop and au gratin potatoes. My husband ordered the sea bass. The food itself was fine, but at the end of my meal, I had to bag my own food. This is a high end steakhouse. I don't bag my leftovers at Landry's lower end steakhouses and this is the luxury end of their brand. There was also a table in front of us where the patron was very unhappy and the manager just walked away from the table while the gentleman was mid-sentence. The gentleman got up and followed the manager which created a scene. No apology or acknowledgement. The customer service was subpar. Nothing like what I'm used to. I should've followed the reviews on Yelp where they have a 3.4 out of 5. The ambiance was ok. We had seating next to a large window so I could see the lit bare trees and the lights from the Chanel and LV store. Parking looked rough so we took an uber from our hotel. Celebrated my friends birthday at Del Frisco's. They booked a private room for a group of about 16 of us. The room was the perfect size for us and had the perfect ambiance. There was also a great view of DC from the second floor where our room was located. I forget our servers name but he was great. He was very personable and had good recommendations. Out host chose selections for our limited menu and everyone enjoyed what they had. For appetizers we all enjoyed the Nueske's Thick Cut Bacon. They was very tasty and had a surprising kick. *Restaurant Week Review* It's been quite a while since I had been to Del Frisco's, but it's still a DC fave for me! Did Restaurant Week with a few friends last night. We were also celebrating a birthday. Everyone had a great time! They were nice enough to bring out dessert with a candle : ) Parking can be tricky around here. There is validated valet for $19. I parked down the street and paid via the ParkMobile app. Initially a few of us sat at the bar while we waited for the entire group to arrive. There's no happy hour here (not sure if that's during Restaurant Week or just in general, but just an FYI). There is a bar menu with some bar bites and some cocktails. I tried the hazelnut espresso martini. It was just ok - I've had much better and at $20, a tad pricey. The bar staff was nice. We got seated upstairs. It was definitely busy, but service wasn't lacking. Our server (didn't get her name) did a great job! She was attentive and friendly. We shared a bottle of the Malbec wine (it was really good). Everyone did the Restaurant Week special ($65 each) and shared the sides. The twice baked potato was my favorite. I did the caesar salad, 8 oz filet (done medium), and the cheesecake. Complete disregard to my dietary restrictions. I communicated clearly that I was a vegan and I was served blue cheese, olives after specifically asking for regular. I ordered a salad and requested balsamic vinaigrette as I do not consume dairy. He proceeds to bring an arbitrary dressing, after I specified balsamic, I asked the server what are the ingredients within this dressing? He did not respond. He did not know what the ingredients were. Huh? Please educate your staff regarding veganism vegans do not consume meat or dairy products. They've decorated for the holidays so it's nice to sit in here at night because the lights are twinkling throughout the restaurant. I'm a creature of habit so I typically start with one of the salads, lobster bisque , Shanghai style calamari, dynamite shrimp, or charred octopus. For entrées, it's the double crab cakes with lobster cream sauce, seared Chilean sea bass, seared scallops, ahi tuna,...basically all the seafood offerings. They consistently deliver delicious food that's plated well. The sides & drinks are also great. Shame on me for not updating my review after returning SEVERAL times since 2014 and each time my experience has been better than what I put in writing back then. Spring forward to this past Friday. It was "Lil Sis' " turn to treat me for my bday and knowing Del Frisco's has always been easy to get to and always a vibe, so Double Eagle it is. The restaurant was bustling so service was surprisingly slow. So slow, the lovely manager came over, introduced herself and took our order. Once our drinks arrived, she made sure to let us know those were on the house for the unacceptable delay. That act alone holds so much weight with me and turned my frown upside down immediately.. classy move! We ordered the dynamite shrimp, lobster mac, lump crab cakes and of course, the birthday boy's blackened ribeye. Everything was superb! The manager and two additional servers checked on us our entire stay, correcting the initial wrong like it never happened.. Lol! He was incredibly attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. Visited DC for a conference a couple of weeks ago. We were invited on by two hosts on two separate nights to Del Frisco's. It has become a running joke now with my team that we will always choose Del Frisco's. Night one I had the short rib as my entree. We also ordered the calamari, the bacon, the crab cake and the meatballs for appetizers. All were fantastic. Everyone was genuinely pleased with the food. We had several dessert options but the butter cake was the clear winner. We were seated in the quieter upstairs side and it was nice. The server was having an off night though and it took a while to get drinks out and the check. Night two I shared the scallops and a ribeye with a teammate. The table again ordered the calamari and octopus, but I don't remember the rest of the apps. The entrees were delicious. Butter cake was had once again. The server was incredible. Visited here a couple nights ago and sat at the bar. I usually go to Eddie Vs where everything is great no matter the person, food or where you sit. Service was good but seemed like I got the bare minimum and others got exceptional service but that's another story. I ordered a ribeye medium well and as you can see in the pictures it isn't. I cooked it when I got home because I was ready to go. Overall the steak was good and still tender once I cooked it again. I also ordered lobster mac & cheese and mashed potatoes to go. The lobster mac & cheese was good, but the mashed potatoes were not, so basic. My lemon drop was the best thing I had that night. I plan to visit again and sit at a table maybe I'll get exceptional service like others. read more

Eros provided one of the most impressive dining experiences I have had in a long time. From the moment we sat down, his attention to detail and genuine engagement set the tone for the entire evening. He is intelligent, thoughtful, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Every recommendation was precise and clearly explained. It was obvious he understands the food, the preparation, and how to guide guests through the experience in a way that elevates the meal. What stood out most was his demeanor. Dined here for my friend's birthday. We had reservations for 7:30 on Sunday night. First time dining here and I heard really good things about Del Frisco's so I was excited. I don't know if it was because it was close to closing time or because it was a Sunday night but the vibes were a little weird. We ordered drinks and were carded (not complaining, whatsoever). 2 out of the 3 IDs were vertical and our server asked if we have horizontal IDs which we did not. She said she would be back and that she needs to verify them but didn't take our IDs or anything. About 10-15 minutes go by and she returns with our drinks but the interaction was just a bit off.. We ordered appetizers afterwards which were the wagyu meatballs & the calamari. Both were pretty good, but it was just the little things that threw us off while being at a fine dining restaurant- no small plates so that we could eat our appetizers, bread taking over 20 minutes when being told it was coming out soon, and the ID situation at this point. It wasn't until 8:45 or so when we were finally able to order our entrees which was pretty late considering our reservation was at 7:30 & the restaurant closes at 9. Food was good but wasn't anything crazy memorable for me to come back to be honest. Especially with the small details that really make a dining experience worthwhile and worth your coin. read more

This place has definitely gotten better since my last visit. From the service to the food, to the ambiance everything was perfect. I got the seafood platter special which came with lobster, scallops, shrimp, and crab fried rice. Everything was perfect. The butter cake with vanilla ice cream is to die for and the steak is always cooked to my husbands liking. And my new favorite appetizer is the thick cut bacon! It's exceptional! A Must Try! Our waiter was great and made sure to be both attentive and kind. Of course it's pricy but it's to be expected. I parked across the street but they do have valet parking for a fee. The location is in a perfect shopping area so fellas get your wallets ready lol. read more

I have more often than not been disappointed by my experiences here. By and large, the food is average at best, and the service and hospitality are often remedial, so I would strongly suggest other venues downtown or within City Center. Most recently, we waited almost 45 minutes for a table even with a reservation. The service was slow in every respect, and the food had a lot of room for improvement in presentation and quality. The Dynamite Shrimp was mild at best and looked like it was plated on top of a foodservice salad mix. I might recommend the crab cakes, salmon, or surf and turf trio. The sides are nothing to write home about and even the lobster mac and cheese is average. More often than not, I've received side dishes that were lukewarm at best. I think this location is more convenient and/or reliable as a lunch destination than dinner. However, they would be well served to make serious improvements to overall management, quality, and service. read more

I went to Del Frisco's on Sunday because there was an art show nearby and me and one of my girlfriends wanted to meet and chit chat before we went to the show. I had not been to Del Frisco's in a few years, actually since the pandemic and not a lot had changed. Of course the Ambiance is always beautiful and it's always super clean and dainty. But I have to admit that the customer service is not that great and it never has been any of the times that I visited unfortunately. Our service/bartender was not at all attentive. It took me about 20 minutes to get soy sauce for the sushi I ordered. Once my club soda was finished I was not automatically refilled nor was I asked if I wanted another glass. I then ordered a ginger beer and that took a while to get as well. We sat for a while after we had appetizers and we chit-chatted. My girlfriend paid the first bill so I guess the bartender assumed that we were done. But we have been sitting there for over 40 minutes after paying the first bill so in that time the server should have asked if we wanted something else. But he failed to do so. It kind of seen that maybe he was new or overwhelmed. Which I can understand because I'm in the industry. But the bar was never overwhelmingly full because it's not that many seats. So they're kind of was no excuses. Eventually I got his attention and ordered the crab cake entree and a side of mashed potatoes. During the course of our visit we both said Thank you to him at least six or seven times, and not one time did he acknowledge that with your welcome or a smile or anything. He was not rude to us but he was also not very welcoming. He more so fit the mold of a less high-end or fine dining establishment to say the least. Overall the food was good so I don't want to complain too much! I just wish that we had a better server. And even though I was not highly satisfied I still tipped over 18% because that's just what I do and I would have felt awful leaving crappy tip but honestly he did not deserve it. My girlfriend felt the same way but she still tipped him accordingly. As for the food itself, the sushi was Super Fresh but it was very Bland so it definitely needed soy sauce and which I had to weigh over 20 minutes for that. The crab cakes were pretty tasty as were the mashed potatoes! So I absolutely have no complaints about the food. I think when you look at price points of restaurants, and also the area in which you choose to spend your time and dine, Customer service should be top priority! Food was great tho. read more

The food was delicious. I had a medium rare filet mignon which was very tender and flavorful. I married that with some fresh asparagus to round out the entree. The bread brought out prior to our entree was warm, tasty and comforting on a windy cold day. I completely enjoyed eating my meal at a cozy table by the window. The restaurant is lively with patrons and clean, with a warm cozy ambiance. The service was quick and our waiter was attentive wrapping up our leftovers and giving us another round of the delicious bread to take with us. I would have taken more pictures but we ate everything!!! read more
