Have you ever been to a high end place and ordered a burger? You get that look like ordering steak at a great seafood place. Well I do enjoy burgers and plenty of places have upped their burger game. As much as it cost for a burger at certain fast food places you might as well hit up some of these other places. The prices are basically the same now. On a few trips to Capital Grille I did go with the burger and so I decided to check out its affiliate Capital Burger. Capital Burger actually has more burger options to choose for over Capital Grille and a more slimmed down menu. Still with the name burger in its name, you know where their focus is. I went with the bacon cheeseburger that comes with candied smoke bacon that came at $22 with your chose of sides (fries or various salads). It was cooked to the perfect medium rare and you can tell when a burger is cooked with better ingredients and cooked with a give a damn. It was not thrown together, and the fries were not just sitting under a heating lamp. I actually ordered a to go burger for the spouse. Here is where customer service comes in. I was asked how far I had to travel and the person taking my order said she will separate portions so it will travel better. Thank you. It is that little extra that goes a long way. This time I went with the Capital Burger to go along with some key lime pie to nibble on later. Great service and great food. There are plenty of good burger places but if you are a burger fan then definitely check this place out. Absolutely no disappointment. Expected a decent burger but was honestly surprised by just how good it was. Sat at the bar by myself. Long day. They do not take reservations so this worked out well. Had the signature Capital Burger. (Rare). Came with fries. Well seasoned and crispy. The burger was so good that I came back the next evening to do it again! The best little surprise is the little glass jar of homemade sweet pickles served with each order. I think the lean to a bread and butter style, and there are also onions in this little concoction. Not typical and quite delightful. Service both nights was superb. It's a very casual restaurant and menu. When we popped in on Wednesday and weee finally seated, the waitress wanted to immediately let us know that the kitchen closed promptly at 9:00 so that we get our order in before we started chatting. The Capital Burger used to be one of our favorite post work happy hour spots, but now I can confidently say that they also have a solid kids menu as well. It's been years since I visited but I am glad to say that in terms of service, great food, and buzzy atmosphere this place is still solidly a winner. They missed the mark on the temperature and brought me a well done one, fortunately it was still juicy. I Cynivised by adding bacon and upgrading the fries to smoked Gouda cheese fries for an additional fee. The bacon was a little over cooked making it very hard and chewy. The cheese sauce was delicious, if only they had drizzled it so it was over the top of most of the fries. It appeared to be focus poured and was all on the bottom on one side of the dish. I went here on a tip from a local. We were starving, so we were ready to get down on a big burger. I ordered the Signature Capital burger MR, and the wife had a bacon burger MR. The pickles they hand out were a nice appetizer. The place is full of energy, and the service was very friendly and attentive. The burgers were closer to a rare than a MR. I ate it anyway. They did look picturesque. The meal was 3.5, but presentation and service put it to a 4. It is a good spot for burger if you like 'em thick and meaty. Well... apparently The Capital Burger doesn't believe in "simple," because this thing showed up looking innocent and then delivered a surprisingly complex explosion of flavor. They even put grilled onions on it -- which I normally treat like a suspicious plot twist. But somehow they worked. I don't know how, I don't know why, but I ate them and liked them. Hubs had visited here previously when his company had an office nearby and recommended we go for dinner here. I wanted a vegetarian burger and when searching on Yelp, this place showed up on my search so I was game. Upon walking in, we were greeted by the host, who was very friendly. He offered to seat us and when we glanced at the limited seating at the bar, we took him up on the offer to sit at a table. It initially took about 10 minutes for someone to greet us, even though they were not packed. Our server was friendly and brought us waters immediately, then proceeded to take our order. Hubs ordered the Capital Burger and I ordered the Vegetarian Burger with the kale salad. Everything was soooo good! My veggie burger was full of actual veggies so it was so filling! The toppings on my blue cheese and black truffle burger were a bit heavy and could have been toned down by at least a quarter, as they overpowered the burger. My companion had no complaints about her classic cheeseburger and we both added lettuce and tomato to our sandwiches. I've driven past Capital Burger a hundred times and we finally decided to stop in for lunch. The burgers and fries are delicious. The price of our lunch was actually much more reasonable than I would have expected. Our server was great she got our order in quickly and our food came out fast. The Irish coffee shack is super tasty. I wouldn't mind it being it was a bit stronger. The burger was juicy and delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy on the outside.
