I had the Hush Money and Tiger Lily - both presented in a chic, enticing way. Though there are many choices on the menu, the bartenders are able to make drinks-to-order. The ambiance, the food, and the service were all wonderful. I came with a friend to visit this little gem and we were seated at the bar. The bartender that evening made me the best French 75 I've ever had. My friend also said her drinks were amazing. We ordered small bites, the Jamon iberico and the focaccia. They were both phenomenal! The Jamon came with a touch of olive oil over it and in one bite I knew the olive oil was not from the US. It took me right back to my trip to Italy. I would say their drinks and fare are a little pricey compared to other speak easy's near by, but this place is definitely a treat to be had. The oyster conserva were like raw oysters cured in a fragrant olive oil; yummy! I asked for chips on the side to keep it gluten free. I heard good reviews about the cheese plate with honey and raves about the focaccia. Tip: Limited food menu for dietary restrictions so come for the drinks. Service: Kristen B was our server and she was great. Helpful, friendly, and I appreciated that she didn't charge me for the chips to make my meal gluten free. A nice touch. We had five cocktails among our group of four and all of them generally lacked flavor. Very light on the alcohol taste even in the spirit forward cocktails like the Oaxacan old fashioned and dogmatic we got. I could not taste the gin in my Flower Drum Song at all and even the sparkling wine seemed flat. For $20 a pop I expect elegant, complex, flavorful creations. My friends and I wanted to try a new spot for after dinner drinks. While searching online, she found Deep Dive and immediately booked a reservation. Reservations are highly recommended here. To find this place, you can't miss the big sphere. Depending where you're walking from, you'll find an entrance. You'll go downward the slightly spiral walkway and meet the host. It is VERY dim inside. Mostly lighted by candles. The ambiance is very sophisticated, chill, and romantic if you will call it. It's very small inside with maybe 8 -10 small tables and the bar. There are really cool and interesting displays on their shelves and walls. They had an abacus, a squirrel, plates and artwork. The drink menus are quite extensive and provides elaborated details of each drink's ingredients. They even separate them into categories such as bold and spicy or clean and elegant. Drinks start about $16 more or less. They also have a small kitchen menu for snacking. Unfortunately, we didn't try the food as we just had dinner. The music was good. Not too loud, not too faint. They had a mix of different genres to please a crowd. The unisex restrooms were clean. They provide hand towels instead of paper towels. Over all it was a really good experience. Our server was really sweet and gave out awesome suggestions. Personally, it was a little too dim inside. We had to use the candle to see some of the menu. The space is smaller than I liked. If you're claustrophobic, this wouldn't be the best place for you. Years ago we wanted to visit this bar, but our time in Seattle didn't allow for it. This time, I made reservations and was excited to finally check it out. It's underneath the Amazon spheres, tucked away underground in a beautiful little chamber with surprisingly high ceilings and incredible decor throughout. It is no secret i love a good bar and this is a good bar! I stumbled upon this place while on a recent solo trip. it was close enough to my hotel that i felt like it would be a safe bet for a nightcap after a day of exploring the city. I was very conflicted on whether I should write this review or not. I recently spent an (short) evening at Deep Dive with some friends. We initially made a reservation at 7:15 which we later found out was a glitch on OpenTable. They suggested we still check in at the time of our res and they will do their best to seat us. We were sat fairly quickly at the bar. All of us started to order some food and drinks. Within the hour, we were told they had an 8:15 reservation for the seats we were in and would need us to leave. Once I spoke with the manager, he said we can stay and continue to order more food and drinks. 30 min later we were told there was a 9:15 reservation for our seats and would need to leave. At 9 o clock we were handed the bill and asked to leave. For spending over $400 we were treated very inappropriately. I recognize there was an error out of their control. But to threaten to kick out paying customers several times left a very sour taste in our mouth. We will not be back. P.S. including a 22% service charge for 3 people sitting at the bar, and not allowing us to select a tip amount on minimal service was not appropriate. read more
