TLDR: Local BBQ place in Murray Hill with CHARCOAL. Impressive banchan spread and equally great service. Plus, how many places have Iberico pork?!? I feel like with most BBQ places, you have to pick one particular meat but some places do well with multiple types. Daori is one of those places. They're most well known for their duck but everything sounded good - I needed to try one from each category. Pork, we opted for the Iberico "bimilsal" or secreto. Grilled over charcoal, it has this incredibly nice marbling and very luscious texture. Duck, we got the spicy marinated duck which kind of reminds you of jeyukbokkeum but with thin-sliced duck. Beef, got the galbi. Very nice scoring and some very tasty bites. Overall - really enjoyed this place and will definitely come back. I think I'll need to try the non-marinated duck and some other Iberico cuts on my next visit.

Came here to try the duck bbq. It was not too crowded on a Friday night. The service was awesome. They grilled the ducks for us, rearranged all the bowls and plates of food as we were running out of space on the table, and kept our waters filled. They also did not rush us, and even waited until we were about ready to leave to hand us complimentary Cinnamon Tea to end the meal. The banchan is quite a spread, so plan your food choices accordingly. You can also get refills of any banchan, which we did of the potato. We went with both the regular (Sang Ori Gui) and spicy duck (Maeun Ori Jumulleok), as well as a Gopchang Jeongol and Hwadeok Jokbal, and Kimchi Jeon. The regular duck was better than the spicy duck, since you can taste the duck by itself. The spicy overpowers the duck flavor. It comes with greens and ssamjang. The Gopchang Jeangol had a good amount of gopchang, noodles, and tofu. The Hwadeok Jokbal was a big portion! Well cooked and seasoned. It was balanced with the salad and the salted fish dip. The Kimchi Jeon held together well. Have to eat this right as it comes out. I will be back for the regular duck and the jokbal!

Came in with a group of 5 for a little Halloween treat at my suggestion. I saw this place advertises grilled duck as one of their standout dishes and a couple of us were curious. I was excited and it being Halloween I dressed up like a big yellow ducky. The server smiled politely when I explained I was wearing my duck costume because I know its one of their specialties she nodded her head as to say "ok grown ass man wearing a ridiculous duck hoodie" We ordered the Sang Ori Gui (Grilled Duck) and Maeun Ori Jumulieok (Spicy Marinated Grilled Duck), Gopchang Jeongol (Beef Intestine and Tripe hot pot with vegetables and noodles) and Hwadeok Jokbal (Wood Fired Pig's Trotters), and a Kimchi Jeon (Pancake) then the festivities began! The service here is amazing and like most Korean spots the dishes just keep coming which can be a bit overwhelming for the uninitiated - the servers brought out an array of banchan, setup the heavy grill plate for the duck, The Jokbal came out with a platter of meat along with a large bone (Which my friend proceeded to Zobble at the end of the meal) and lastly, placed the large simmering hot pot on our second burner. Dishes of food literally covered our table and it was beautiful sight. Family style dining at its finest. Between the plain grilled and spicy duck I would say go for the plain grilled to get more of the duck flavor. If you gave me a plate of grilled spicy pork belly and spicy duck I probably wouldn't be able to tell too much of a difference. The platter of pig trotters is a must get if its your thing, well worth the price of admission. I wasn't too crazy for their Gopchang Jeongol - I have had a better version of this elsewhere. The vibe here is great, the service is fantastic, the food is delicious - it should be on your short list if you are in the Murray Hill station area!

Been looking to try this place every time I pass by and I finally got to try it. Glad I did too! Walked in on a weekday for lunch and it was completely empty at 11am. The place looks very clean and had an open space with tables made for grills. My sis and I ordered 2 items from their lunch special- the Deulkkae jang kalkuksu and Chueo tang. First thing I noticed it the tea was really fragrant. Then was greeted by a great spread of side dishes. They had some interesting ones too like the mini zucchini pancakes and pickles. Both of which were superb by the way. The Chueo tang came with a heaping amount of greens cooked in it. I've never had it so wasnt sure what to expect. There was a lot more greens than I could eat so hoping it's not meant to all be eaten. The soup itself was not as fishy as expected since it's made of ground loach. Soup was seasoned nicely and was really warming. It came with white rice tho I did find it not enough seasoning when paired with rice. Not bland at all, but I like stronger flavors. Will definitely eat less rice if I were to order again. Heard supposed to have great health benefits. The Deulkkae jang kalkuksu came with this barely rice that you can mix in sesame oil and a mix-in. It was very chewy and light in taste, assuming it's there for if you want a change in taste/texture of the dish. The soup itself came in a large bowl that looked almost like a mini cauldron, and it was a noodle soup. The noodles were perfect in texture, had a good bounce/chew. Soup was great too, strong flavors with a kick of heat, and the perilla seeds gives it a nice mild nutty flavor. We were already very satisfied but then they came by with a sweet tea when we asked for the bill. It's a very small cup of healthy tea made with jujube, cinnamon, ginger, etc. Although it was a small cup, the taste was very strong and sipping it very slowly was veryyyy warming and satisfying since it's super cold out. Not to mention it was so good. Please take your time with it and do not shot it lol. Oh yea forgot to mention that each dish was $13 during lunch special. So every dish (and side dishes) were delicious and for that price, I will definitely come back to try other dishes. So far really liking this place!

The customer service was impeccable. The food was delicious, light, and flavorful. Side dishes were fresh and tasteful. I really like the environment. it really reminded me of an old-school restaurant in a good way! Will be coming back again.

We had the beef combo and everything was amazing! They do the cooking for you so you can just sit back and relax and watch your food be cooked in front of you. The service was quick and efficient and the seating are plentiful. We had a party of 6 and it was def enough space for us. The grills are quite big as well so we didn't have to wait to cook the other meats. Will def come back as one of my go to KBBQ spots!

Very good food with huge portions The cold noodles are refreshing on a hot summer day Service was super attentive and friendly. The food was bbq'd for us and same for mixing the noodles and cutting up pancakes Inside has good amount of seating and spacious too

Best kbbq I've had for awhile! Took a relative out for a Saturday lunch and there was plenty of room. We got some delicious tea right away and they also offered ice water. The seats were comfortable and the grills had good ventilation. The price is very fair, especially when you consider the quality of meat and how many side dishes they provide with refills. All of the meats we had were tender, juicy, and flavorful. They even provided side dishes I've had to pay for separately at other locations, so it was very generous. There was also a variety in both the side dishes and the available meats, so we got to try quite a few new foods that have been difficult for me to find elsewhere. You can tell there is a lot of care taken in quality and service as they were all kind and attentive. Their insight was very helpful and made us want to come back for more right away. They even had a grill attachment to make sure the meat stayed warm without overcooking. At the end of the meal we also got the best cinnamon tea! It seems like they draw a big dinner crowd (some of the larger tables were already labeled reserved), so I would definitely recommend putting in a reservation if you plan to eat there in the evenings.

If I could give this place a level of distinction from my other 5 star favorites, I would. Out of non-fancy kbbq, this place is probably my favorite I've been to so far in the states. The interior is clean yet homey (sometimes those things are at odds in a kbbq joint..) and has that traditional authentic feel of a kbbq joint in korea. Not too touristy either but continuous customers. We went with a large group of 8 and were able to be seated together (altho i do recommend a reservation for big parties). The side dishes alone could make me come back here, but the meat is also great quality. I love that they use the traditional bronze dishes instead of dingy plastic ones. I believe their main meat is duck meat, which is what we got. Now I have an excuse to come back to try beef! Seriously, no notes from me. Not a single thing I can think of improving here. I'd try to come back anytime im in the area.

We decided to come back to Daori for some Korean BBQ and it didn't disappoint. The food is always good, the ambiance fun and the service excellent. We had the pleasure of being cared for by Jinyoung who is as beautiful as she is friendly. Such a wonderful lady who created a wonderful experience. If you are in the area GO HERE. We will be back soon. I'll call for reservations.

First time at this restaurant-small but cozy. Ordered the seafood soondubu and pork bone hangover soup. While one of my order came up incorrect, it corrected quickly and the service was overall great! Food came out fast and very tasty-pork bone hangover soup was a big portion and glad we ordered it less spicy. Seafood soondubu had a dashi taste and they gave multiple side dishes (see pics) and then a sweet drink at the end of the meal. Was a great meal for a cold day and will definitely be back!

The gukbap had a strong, savory broth and rice came on the side, so I enjoyed dipping it into the soup. The beef was cooked perfectly. The menu is also very cute and I'm guessing handmade. It was pretty detailed and we appreciated learning about each dish before deciding what to order. We ended up ordering the Kimchi Pancake with seafood, the spicy bulkoki udon and the jeyuk udon. The kimchi seafood pancake was super crispy and filled with squid and shrimp! It also came with a semi sweet dipping sauce that paired nicely. Both udons came out piping hot and fresh! Udon had a nice chew to it, was loaded with vegetables as well as meat for each dish. The egg was fried and did not have a runny yolk. For sides, they gave us 4 things- a tomato salad, kimchi cucumbers, braised string beans, and bean sprouts. The tomato salad came in this cute apple shaped dish but neither of us really cared for it- this is completely biased though since we're not really fans of tomato. What we really did love was the kimchi cucumbers! Also at the end, they served us 3 pieces of cantaloupe which were very sweet. Overall, yummy food, cute shop, and friendly/nice staff! There's 2 waitresses and one busser, but I felt only one of the waitress was pulling the weight, while the other (maybe she's the owner?) mostly chatted with one of the table customers. I felt bad for our waitress she was so busy with fulfilling takeouts + dine ins and the dishes require a lot of servicing table side. She couldn't catch 1 second of break :( Food wise, we got their 2 person combo of spicy pork gamja tang and spicy rice cake which came with the steamed egg. Everything was so good, egg was extra fluffy, rice cake was delicious and the meat came right off the bones. They take a good variety of side dishes. My partner wasn't a fan of the gamja tang but due to feeling it's a hassle to eat meat with bones, so those who fee sim may agree. We also asked for the fried rice after we finished the gamja tang, for 2 servings I think it was $4.75 or something. I really enjoyed it but I guess I like scorched rice, also something my partner doesn't enjoy so those we feel sim just note. Environment feels very old school, well worn. Feels cozy. It can get loud very quickly on a Saturday night as this place seems to be a hit for large parties. Since the wait staff is short handed, expect a bit of a wait for things.
