Danbi is a korean coffee shop famous for various and unique drinks. This place has been in my Yelp list for a while Finally, I went to Danbi Coffee. The place has youthful vibes. It was very busy. The drink menu is interesting. We ordered the following; - Banana Pudding Latte 5/5 - Banana cream Matcha with oat milk 5/5 With almond toffee toppings No additional charge for milk substitute. - Tropical Mango 3/5 First kick is tangy. It was unexpected then the mango flavor hits and it gives balance. It also have coconut, a layer of mango pieces that not particularly too sweet. The base is cake. The service was fast although it was busy. The staff were friendly and attentive. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a nice place to go to and try their unique drinks.
drinks are great here! you can place an order online and pick it up! the line is sometimes long depending on the day but they have a great selection! the tomato salt bread was really good too! they have some other flavors as well as little dessert cakes too
Tucked away on a corner in Pasadena, this small cafe never disappoints. The interior is pretty spacious with plenty of seating when it isn't busy. There's also seating on the patio, as well. They serve a variety of drinks ranging from matcha to coffee to teas. They even have a small section for merchandise. If you're hungry, they even have some pastries or cakes. My go to drink is the matcha rain but you can't go wrong with anything here. I love that their matcha drinks come with oat milk by default.
First Timer! Outstanding coffee! It's a must try! - Coffee Rain with oatmilk 5/5 -Einspanner with oatmilk 5/5 -Bannana Cream latte 5/5 Great customer service, welcoming, very friendly, and positive attitude Clean environment, inside seating and outside seating available, great music! Great atmosphere and decorations inside love the style! Restrooms available Street parking available Definitely recommended Friends and family I will be back soon for more!
Been a year since I last reviewed this cafe so thought I'd update it! It's a small cafe located very close to PCC making it a great study or hang out spot! It's open daily 7:30am-5:30pm Parking can be difficult but there is street parking available. Inside is very spacious with a good amount of chairs and tables, as well as power outlets. Pricing is a bit on the higher side so expect to pay $7-$8 for most of their drinks. Really enjoy that they do sugar and ice adjustments, as well as offer complimentary milk substitutions. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Got the Strawberry Matcha Rain ($8) and it had real bits of strawberries on top, as well as on the bottom. The matcha cream top was very thick in consistency so be sure to give it a good stir prior to drinking. The matcha was quite subtle and the drink itself was very creamy. I enjoyed that it wasn't too sweet without any sugar adjustments. I liked how milky and fruity it was but wish it had a bolder matcha taste. Overall, the drinks are pretty good if you don't like such a bold matcha taste and more so a creamy and milky version.
Thought the matcha here was ok. I got the Matcha Rain and the Strawberry Matcha Rain. The Matcha Rain was not bad. I wish the matcha was a bit stronger, and I would've preferred a little more sweetness. Overall, it was ok and a bit bland. The Strawberry Matcha Rain was better, but there was nothing striking about it. I liked the strawberry bits, but it's just your standard strawberry matcha. I would've preferred a stronger matcha taste for this one as well. Overall, drinks are not bad but on the pricier side where each drink costs about $8. The service was great though! I asked the cashier for recommendations and she was super friendly and accommodating. I might come back to try their coffee drinks.
Danbi Coffee had been on my list for quite some time thanks to the buzz surrounding its signature matcha creations. Beyond its innovative drinks, the café offers an impressive lineup of freshly baked pastries made in-house, ensuring there's something to suit every palate. From the moment our order arrived, the vibrant presentation left us even more excited to dig in. **Banana Cream Matcha: 4/5** The Banana Cream Matcha reimagined the classic matcha latte with a decadent twist. Topped with a luscious layer of banana-infused foam and crunchy almond toffee, it offered a satisfying textural contrast, while the housemade banana purée, featuring chunks of real banana, delivered a fresh, naturally sweet flavor. The latte was exceptionally smooth and creamy, but it leaned a bit too milky, causing the matcha's earthy notes to become fairly subdued. It was also slightly sweeter than my preference, making it feel more like a dessert-inspired matcha than a true matcha-forward latte. **Pistachio Croissant: 5/5** This was easily the highlight of our order. The croissant featured an incredibly flaky, crispy exterior that gave way to a light, airy interior with beautiful buttery layers. It was generously filled with a rich, nutty cream that accentuated the pistachio's deep, roasted flavor while maintaining just the right amount of sweetness. Finished with a white chocolate pistachio drizzle and a delicate dusting of powdered sugar, every bite was indulgent yet perfectly balanced. Overall, Danbi Coffee shows plenty of promise through its specialty drinks and well-executed pastries. While I'd love to see a bolder matcha presence in their lattes, the exceptional pistachio croissant alone gives me every reason to return and explore the rest of their menu.
I have heard of this place a few times and wanted to try it! Starting off, parking was on the street, so it might be hard to find parking in the busier hours. I came on a Friday afternoon around 1pm and it wasn't busy. They have a lot of matcha drinks so I tried one of their popular ones. I got the manga matcha rain. It was $8 so it was on the pricier side. It had a really great mango taste! The matcha flavor isn't too strong in my opinion, or its a very creamy matcha- so you don't that hint of bitterness that most other places have. Definitely a dessert drink. This is for those who think matcha taste like dirt or grass... they might be pleasantly surprised! I came in and out pretty quickly, and I didn't sit down at the tables so I can't comment on that. For me, I would come here if I was nearby but wouldn't go out of my way to get it probably because of the parking and price.
I stopped by this spot after a local recommended it as having one of the best matchas in Pasadena, and it definitely got me in the spirit to watch the new Minions and Monsters movie tomorrow! The Build: I ordered the banana cream matcha, which features a rich matcha base with standard oat milk, topped with a heavenly layer of banana cream and tiny, mysterious crunchy pieces. The Flavor Profile: Taste-wise, the drink was absolutely heavenly. The matcha itself was wonderfully rich, and mixing in the banana cream took it to the next level, while the crunchy toppings added a really nice occasional texture. The only real letdown was the size, the cup was just so tiny for an $8 price tag. Even though the flavors were incredible, it felt a bit hard to justify the steep cost for such a small portion. The Verdict: While the major price tag means this won't be an everyday habit, the solid flavors and super fast, friendly service make it a perfect spot for a little treat every once in a while. The staff had my drink out almost instantly around 10 AM on a Tuesday, and since I live so close, I'll definitely be back occasionally when I want to spoil myself.
Banana cream is thick. I like the almond stuff they put on top but it might be too sweet for some. Also, I must be blind because i never noticed the desserts on the right side, only the left side with the bakery items like croissants. Street parking if you end up on the one way street, i think they have parking in the back if you make a right at the correct street.
Cute little matcha spot just outside Old Town Pasadena! The shop is super cute and they have so many matcha drinks with different cloud foams. I tried the banana matcha with toffee bits and banana cloud foam, and it was so good! They use real bananas, so if you love banana, you'll definitely enjoy this one. I also love that they offer oat and almond milk with no extra charge. Definitely want to come back and try another matcha flavor!
Heard about this place on tiktok but it was very underwhelming. Came here on a Sunday around 12 pm and stood in a short line. We got the mango matcha rain, banana cream matcha, and banana latte. For $7-8 per drink, you get a very SMALL sized cup, I believe it's a 12 oz. Although oat milk is the standard for the matcha drinks, the price for such a small cup was not worth it. For the drinks itself, not sure what kind of matcha powder they are using but it doesn't seem to be grade quality. The banana latte also tasted like milk. Interior wise, plenty of tables & seating. Great for a study spot with ample street parking. Overall, for the price, quality, and sizes, I unfortunately will not be returning.
The first time I came here, I ordered their einspanner and personally thought it was too milky for my liking. When I came back, I wanted to try something different! Service is always extremely friendly and attentive, and there is ample free street parking which is a huge plus in Pasadena! - Matcha Rain (8/10) - high quality matcha, not too bitter with the right amount of sweetness - Banana Cream Latte (9/10) - one of the only banana lattes I've had where I can clearly taste the fresh ripe banana used in the cream. I got an extra shot to offset the milkiness and it was perfect for me. The almond toffee sprinkled on top added a crunch that I didn't know I needed! - Dubai Crown Pastry (8/10) - sweet, rich, with very distinct layers; gorgeous presentation!!! - Ham & Cheese Croissant (6/10) - pretty standard
A delightful and delectable latte cafe. I'm not much of a latte drinker so only have it on occasion. I was skeptical about the rave reviews here.. how good can a latte be? Well, it turns out- veryyy! The matcha rain had a silky and decadent mouthfeel on top, its nutty goodness meshed well with the deliciously roasted ceremonial grade matcha underneath. The einspanner had luscious cream atop perfectly made, albeit strong, coffee. I couldn't drink fast enough. Would've ordered a third drink if my body could handle all that caffeine. Dare I say it, they seem to have perfected the ice latte. Friendly, sweet and efficient employees. Nice bright cool space. Everything including the pistachio croissant was so good. Already planning the next visit back! read more
I was excited to try their drinks and pastries. Their pastries were just ok. Nothing memorable. Their drinks were also kind of bland or not as tasty as I would like. I had their cortadp and their matcha latte with a injeolmi latte. Their injeolmi was hard to eat above the latte. When dipped, it added nothing to the flavor or texture. It was just like wet drippy rice balls made a mess everywhere. Then when I drank the latte, the coffee was underwhelming under the injeolmi powder. The cortado was also too sour and tasted kind of weird. Out of everything, their matcha latte was probably their best, and I have had better. There was so much hype about this place, but I don't wish to go back again. They were nice and it was a pretty cute instagram-worthy spot. Service was fine. read more
Cute coffee shop. Definitely gives Korea vibe. It's soft opening currently with BOGO free. I got the matcha latte and injulmi mochi latte. Matcha latte was nice. The injulmi mochi latte has coffee flavor, reminds me of a cappuccino. It was nice and top with Korean mochi. Service was quick. Street park is available. Their grand opening is July 20. read more
Drinks were AMAZING. I love their coffee blend and their matcha is ceremonial grade and the texture is perfect. I will say that the oat milk flavor is also strong so if you really want to taste the matcha, get a different milk. The only downside was the cleanliness of the tables and floor. It was unfortunate because the aesthetic is otherwise nice and very cute! Decent amount of seating too, and very busy. Definitely would go back again. One of my favorites so far. read more
The matcha was quite GOOD!! Though I am currently lost in matcha limbo and don't know what's the standard anymore, this matcha is on the nuttier side! There's inside seating for studying/working and free wifi, with outside seating as well!! I got the matcha rain but AGAIN.... i am currently in matcha limbo and it's good but does not hit as hard as the first time i had a matcha einspanner from community goods last year. Definitely recommend trying this place tho!! read more

we got the matcha rain and the coffee rain. the matcha rain was their take on a double matcha. the matcha color looks really good but the cream on top was lightly sweetened and creamy (didn't taste like a matcha foam) and the latte itself was missing the overall earthy, bitterness in a matcha. the coffee rain was pretty much a vanilla einspanner. the first sip was slightly bitter and coffee forward, but as the cream mixed in it became more on the sweeter, creamier side. read more
The cafe is very spacious and makes it the perfect spot for hanging out with friends or studying. It was pretty packed during the afternoon but the drinks were made pretty quickly. I got the matcha rain with whole milk and I was not a fan. The matcha left an astringent and bitter taste. The drink was also almost $9 which makes it pricier than most LA matcha for such a small size. I personally think there are better and cheaper options. read more

Came in again after the owner told me they would improve their protocol for giving drinks. Much faster than before, and I appreciated them being open to feedback. Come in for your strawberry matcha cravings, they also have pastries now too! read more

If you know me, you'll know I am a banana latte aficionado... and this is the best banana latte I've had in LA hands down. It's creamy, just the right balance of coffee & sweet, and made with real banana. I will make the drive for this one. Service was quick even though they were quite busy! read more
Came here on a Sunday and it was already PACKED. The line was stretching past the entrance. BUT this place is definitely worth the wait and long lines. My friend and I got the eispanner and matcha latte and it was SOOO GOODD. The matcha was the perfect amount of creamy and sweet. Pricing was pretty reasonable. Size was smaller than typical matchas but the quality was definitely there. One of the best tasting matchas I have ever tried. The eispanner was also VERYY GOOD. I love the cream top and the coffee was strong but was still very tasty. Even though the lines were long, the drinks came out very fast. Waited for about a minute after ordering for my drink. Will definitely be back here again. read more
sgv just got a new matcha spot in the game. place is near pcc and its got plenty of street parking. prepare for a line cause we went on a random weekday at like 1pm and there was still a line out the door. anytime is matcha time i guess. despite the long line, they're hella efficient with the way they work. plenty of baristas and line gets cleared in no time. we ended up getting the classic matcha latte and the einspanner. the matcha latte was good, tasted a little different from other matcha lattes in the area, but still hittin. the einspanner really showed up though. definitely took the spot light for me. creamy, smooth and still packed that caffeine punch to the face all us fiends look for. read more
I want to gatekeep this place. That's how delicious it is but I'm not going to be that person, and will share that the coffee is delicious!! We got the einspanner and butterscotch latte. Both were sweet and tasty, the cream on the einspanner is thick and YUMMY!! The only downside is you end up wanting more after. Also the staff is friendly! read more

Another good study & hang out coffee shop with matcha in Pasadena area. There were good amount of tables with outlets and area was spacious. Baristas were nice and they were using Stumptown for their beans. Easy street parking Matcha Rain ($8) - 8.7/10 Injulmi Latte ($8) - 7/10 (pretty blend) read more
I liked the matcha but it wasn't the best one I've had. I liked the eispanner cream but the coffee was okay. The prices were really high and the cups were really small. I was surprised that there were others in the shop at the early hour on a saturday. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I wasn't too impressed. read more

The coffee was so good! I got the German one light sweet w oatmilk (I forgot the name but it was the one with Vienna cream)-- and it was one of the best coffees I've ever had. The staff were very friendly and organized and I'm definitely looking forward to coming back! read more

The einspanner here is amazing. It's because of this einspanner that made me want to go on an einspanner discovery journey every weekend and I still haven't found one as good as this. Highly recommend! read more

Picked this up for my niece and nephew cause they saw it on Tik Tok. Got the Matcha Rain and a coco latte. It's clean inside, has a really nice interior, but run by teenagers who weren't particularly friendly and very unorganized. Took ages for me to get the drinks and was watching them work at a snails pace. On top of that matcha wasn't mixed into the drink what so ever, there was unmixed chunks floating it. It was a chalky mess. My niece tried to use a mixer but the damage had been done andwas too gritty to drink. It was also tiny. The coco latte was also super gritty and for some reason cost $7. There wasn't even caffeine in it! For that price I'd expect bourbon. I feel like John Travolta in Pulp Fiction I don't know how they have the gall to charge the amount they do for gritty matcha and chocolate milk. I took it as a personal attack and I truly hated this place. read more
I've finally tried this place after seeing it on social media. My husband got the matcha rain which is like a double matcha. They default their matcha drinks with oat milk. The matcha wasn't strong in flavor, you could taste the milk more than the matcha itself. He would rate it 3/5. I got the einspanner. The coffee itself tasted good and it was creamy how I like it. I would rate the einspanner 3/5 because their cream top left a weird milk coating in my mouth after drinking it which took away from the drink. The drinks were also $7-8 and served in small cups. There's lots of seating here, but it can get loud so not sure if it's ideal place to study. There is a lot of street parking. read more

Tried out Danbi Coffee and went with the strawberry matcha foam and a butterscotch latte--both were really tasty! The strawberry matcha had a nice layered look with the fresh fruit at the bottom and matcha on top, and the butterscotch latte was smooth and not overly sweet. Drinks came out quickly thanks to the friendly and efficient staff. The café has ample seating and a clean, open vibe, which makes it a great spot for hanging out with friends or catching up on some work. I didn't notice any outlets though, so it might not be the best place for long study sessions if you need to charge your devices. Parking is mostly street parking, so plan ahead a little, but overall it's a solid café for creative drinks and a relaxed atmosphere. read more
We passed by and saw this cute cafe randomly. We came inside and were blown away by the esthetics and charm. It has an open floor plan with plenty of seating. It feels like we're in a trendy Korean cafe. We were fortunate to get the BOGO deal and enjoyed both of our drinks. The matcha latte is on the sweeter side and the barista said she could not adjust it... read more

The matcha is amazing -- seriously 10/10! The workers are super friendly too, which makes the experience even better. That said, the whole place could really use a good cleaning. I could see dust on the hanging lights from a mile away , and the tables could definitely use a proper wipe down as well. read more

New Korean cafe located on a corner near PCC and it is oh so delicious! First went during their soft opening and got an Einspanner which is always my go-to order on the menu. It was creamy and roasty, the perfect einspanner. Their matcha rain is also very popular. Who can go down with a a double matcha!? I usually get unsweetened matcha and forgot to ask how they do it but it honestly wasn't that sweet. Extremely creamy and filling but wow perfect dessert like drink for matcha lovers. read more
Location is odd, right under a residential building but shouldn't be hard to find. Street parking. Service is nice. They have pastries you can choose from. Coffee: now I'm gonna be honest. As someone who specifically looks for coffee with cream tops, they couldve done better both taste and quantity wise. The coffee tasted more like milk to me. Americano is a decent americano. They had plenty more interesting drinks to try so I can't base my judgement on only these two that I tried. I do want to make a specific comment on something. The floors, tables, chairs and windows were soo dirty. Like they hadn't been cleaned for days. Would strongly recommend cleaning more often especially considering that everything in the coffee shop was white and easily noticeable. read more

Danbi is a lovely coffee shop in Pasadena. It's not too far from downtown Pasadena and is in a great location. Parking was not difficult to find at all. It's a great shop to get some work done in, but seats fill up pretty quick. I tried the banana matcha here, which I absolutely loved! I love the toffee bits it comes with and the drink is my perfect level of sweetness. The matcha itself was amazing and I'll definitely pop by again if I'm in the area! read more

Instagram : @yeapeats Came by on a Sunday mid-morning. There was a small line when I arrived, just slightly out the door--but by the time I got my drink, the line had wrapped around the building, so it definitely gets busy! I'm not a huge fan of the location since it's street parking only, and spots can fill up fast--especially with a neighboring boba shop drawing crowds too. The service was a little on the slower side, but all the baristas were super friendly and welcoming, which made the wait more bearable. I ordered the Matcha Rain, which tasted like a double dose of matcha. The cream top was super creamy, and the matcha latte itself was rich and smooth--definitely a treat for matcha lovers. I'd come back to try more of their drinks--there were several interesting ones on the menu that caught my eye. read more

We happened to find this place since it was new and opened later than a lot of other coffee shops. For serious coffee lovers who enjoy the taste of pourovers and such, this might not be the place for you, but if you want a treat, this is delicious. Experience and drinks for us for 5/5. The cream top for both is definitely a bit on the sweeter side. However, for the einspanner, it balances out with the rest of the drink. I'd actually wait for the cream to drop down and mix with the rest of the drink first so it's less bitter. It definitely feels pricey but I think for coffee/matcha, this is the normal pricing now. I would definitely come back here again though! **Edit** Forgot to mention about the Matcha Rain - love it!! Really tasted the matcha in there but if you order the rain, the cream top might cover some of that matcha taste. Worked out for me though! I liked the balance between the matcha and matcha cream top. read more

Came to try their vibrant looking matcha. Typically when ordering matcha you can adjust sweetness levels, I prefer a less sweet drink. The person taking my order said their matcha is pre-made in the morning with maple syrup and cannot be adjusted. Decided to still give it a try and it was definitely SWEET. Matcha rain 7/10: strong matcha flavor but too sweet imo. Size appears to be a 12oz cup. Default milk is Oat but can select any milk option at no charge. Overall good but not for size and price. read more
