Lastly, what is wrong with the floors? Sticky from dirt or soap accumulation? I had to be careful walking because it was more like ice rink than a walking floor. Get a new mop, use water with less detergent. Do something. What used to be like a cool, cozy place to enjoy terrific hamburgers, became a second hand stop with dirty floors, dirty tables and wrong orders. Its ok to get one thing wrong but triple magic get noticed. I have to say that employees are trying to be nice, bringing food to the table and smiling but I prefer to have old menu on the wall, listening clerk, clean tables and clean floors. Do I love Shake Shack? Yes. Would I eat there again? Not sure. Maybe online ordering and eating at home would be better. Room for improvement? Absolutely.

The burgers were smashed to within an inch of their little lives. Little being the operative term. Order a double if you are feeling any kind of hunger pang. Anyway, smashed. Right. The lacing and charred edges were delicious and the crunch of the onion ring validated the choice. Excellent smash burger. So too were my wings! Delicious and crispy. Zero complaints. Somewhere around 2024-2025, they did a bit of introspection --- and have revamped much of their image: menu simplification, bolder brand identity, and ACTUAL value pricing on items. I remembering visiting Smashburger in the 2010's, and often my burgers and fries were drenched in grease. Not this time. Burgers are delicately assembled, and more or less look like the photo on their menus! In Paramus, I've only had positive interactions with the staff --- they have been helpful in ordering and recommending when I am indecisive. On top of that: don't sleep on their app! They have better "reward deals" than many other chain restaurants! I tried two items today: 1) Mexicali Big Dog ($7.99) - This is a "¼ pound 100% Angus beef hot dog, cheddar cheese sauce, grilled jalapeños, chopped bacon, crispy fried onions, fresh-sliced avocado, and Mexican crema on a butter-toasted Big Dog roll." IT SLAPS. All the flavors work together, and I traveled to work after picking it up --- 20 minutes later it still HIT. And oh my goodness that toasted roll, it just elevates the experience! 2) Double Jalapeno Crema Smash ($7.99) - If you're a fan of Tex-Mex and grilled jalapenos, this item is for you! The heat pairs well with the Crema in the burger, to offer you both a heat and cool effect. It is smoky, rich, and spicy in all the right ways! Definitely recommend --- and NOT SOGGY from any grease! (There is bacon in my photo --- I added that!) In any case --- Smashburger has made a wonderful comeback, and I wish more people knew about it!! I love that there are electric chargers (probably a tax benefit). The 'downside' is that they are level 2 rather than level 3, meaning they're 'slow chargers'. For a place that is for fast food, it doesn't make a ton of sense to have slow chargers? About parking, I think the placement of the two handicapped spots is awkward. The drivers would have to circle the lot or make a very awkward 3 point turn based on where the entrance is - checked the box but wasn't planned most efficiently. Inside is small, not too much seating and there are no self serve soda machines, napkin station, or condiments, all downsides in my opinion. There are two kiosks that they encourage you to use (though I used my App). Alternatively, there is one cash register open - downside is that the person behind the register also hands out food - at a busy time it might be hectic for them. The fast food is fast, and usually if you need to wait for your food to be prepared, they will have you wait in one of the spots near the drive thru and they will bring your food out to you. The workers are always very polite and kind. I have never had my order incorrect at this location. The only negative is that their speaker system sucks. It must be hard to hear on the workers end. I have to scream my order every time for them to hear me. Corporate should fix this for the sanity of their workers. I would go nuts trying to figure out someone's order by barley hearing them.

The brisket was good too and certainly benefited from the sauces available, as well as the pork shoulder. I thought the Mac and cheese was standard but the kimchi slaw wasn't refreshing although interesting.
