THIS PLACE SLAPS…read more Breakfast and dinner are 5/5. Such great food, great service, and an absolutely beautiful hybrid patio area. The drinks are incredible as well while being fairly priced. I did not think this place would be so good but it's found its way up on my top 5 list in southern NJ. Tastefully thought out menu that does everything so well, and it's not even that expensive!

I have been coming here since they first opened, and it has always been one of my favorite spots. Over the years, the food has consistently been great and I've always had good experiences with the service, which makes yesterday especially disappointing. From the beginning, it seemed like our server had far too many tables and was overwhelmed with the workload. We initially ordered our appetizers, and when she brought them out, we told her we were ready to put in our entrées. She said okay, but then did not return to our table for another 20 minutes to actually take our order. We were left sitting there waiting despite already telling her we were ready to order. I completely understand that restaurants get busy and that servers can be stretched thin. However, the lack of attention to our table made the entire experience frustrating, especially at a restaurant where I've had such consistently good service in the past. Unfortunately, the food was also not up to the quality I've come to expect from Cinder Bar. To make matters worse, after eating there, I became extremely sick with symptoms consistent with food poisoning. I normally wouldn't let one bad experience erase years of positive ones, but between the extremely slow service, disappointing food, and becoming sick afterward, this experience was bad enough that I no longer feel comfortable returning. It's genuinely disappointing because Cinder Bar has been one of my favorite restaurants since they opened, and I have recommended it to others many times. I really hope management looks into both the staffing situation and what may have happened with the food that day, because yesterday's experience was completely different from the Cinder Bar I've known and enjoyed for years.

My husband came up with a last minute idea for dinner - hey! If I don't have to cook and have…read moresomeone serve ME, let's ago! It was a week day evening so it was quiet. Love it. We chose to sit at the far end of the bar, the bartender, Gabriella was quick to greet us. I ordered ginger spritz from the specialty drink menu. My husband had his pino - Gabby gave him choices of dry to sweet. He was pleased with his choice as was I. We relaxed and enjoyed our drinks, no rush. Gabby checked on us and also filled my husband glass when needed. We were happy to see some new items on the menu. Gabby took our order when we were ready to eat. I chose the short ribs with butternut squash risotto and steamed broccoli. John was happy to see scallops, so he ordered them, served with dirty Cajun risotto (enjoyed the risotto over mashed potatoes!) Our meal arrived in large black decorative bowls. The presentation was very nice and made our entree very inviting visually. Our server brought 2 glasses of water w/lemon (I had asked her to have with our dinner when it came out). The short ribs were so tender they were fork friendly, paired with the risotto perfectly- loved it! Next time I'll ask for a bit more broccoli. Highly suggest this item! Delicious and plenty. John reported that his scallops were perfectly seared and tender. He also enjoyed the Cajun risotto- empty plate ensued! Thank you to Gabriella for being so attentive and answering my questions during our stay. Great mixed drink and the wine was perfect. A delicious and satisfying dinner.

I'm not sure if the musicians were in charge or if management wouldn't accommodate their customers. Either way, we turned around and left. We wanted to talk over dinner, not shout at each other and damage our hearing. (It was 87db at the hostess stand)

I stuck with my usual two eggs, which were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. My fiancée ordered the Pretty Toast, their take on French toast, topped with cream cheese, pecans, and sweetened peaches. It honestly reminded me of peach cobbler! When I saw her plate, my jaw dropped--I was instantly jealous! She let me steal a couple of bites, and it was absolutely delicious. It's one of those dishes you could enjoy for breakfast, brunch, or even as a sweet snack. The food was a solid 10/10. Our server, Ben, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. He took the time to tell us a little about the menu and even suggested we try something different. Looking back... I probably should have listened! The atmosphere was clean, cozy, and inviting. It honestly felt like sitting in your nonna's kitchen--warm, comfortable, and full of charm. We can't wait to come back and work our way through the dinner menu. If brunch was this good, we have a feeling dinner will be just as amazing!

Great to share. The artichoke cake sandwich was the sleeper hit: crispy outside, creamy inside, packed with flavor. Cozy, sentimental touch and we'll be back for dinner!

The first time I went into kitchen 519 was so long ago. I've gone back since then many times and…read moremust say that the food has really upgraded. Out of all of my visits, my favorite is the weekend brunch menu. There are so many yummy things to choose from like the breakfast burrito, the banana Forester French toast, the various of Benedict's including crab, and there were a bunch of various breakfast sandwiches, but the most menu appealing one that I liked is the pork roll. On my last trip I wound getting a chicken brie apples bacon on brioche bread. It was a special of the day. From the moment I bid into it, I knew I would love it for the savoriness, the crisp and sweet tasting bread. There was a side of potatoes... Very nicely seasoned and the perfect crunch to them. On my last visit, it was a total of 10 people in our group and the customer service was great. We were all able to pay with separate checks... Always a perk. The waiter was super super friendly and kept our coffee refills going. Inside it is busy which could lead away from the quiet ambience, but I didn't mind it at all.

Former home vibe, i was one of the earliest weekday diners. Since it a solo dinner, I opted for a few sides: Kimchi rice Cucumber salad Brussel sprouts (no meat or butter) The cucumber salad was so good, I ordered a second portion!! The tofu burnt ends and bbq jack fruit sounded so intriguing that I almost begged the kind server to ask the chef if they could serve a side portion. Otherwise the bbq is served in pound increments. For my lucky tummy, they obliged and wow those are both delicious vegan options! Maybe next time, i will visit here earlier during my trip to be able to take home leftovers. Booth was cozy and love that water bottle to refill my glass is on my table which sounds weird but I drink alot of water! Small place , would recommend reservations for weekend dining. Parking lot was limited too. Enjoy!
