Spicy tuna roll and Spider Roll
    Nary K.

I wasn't sure where to go for Sushi in the Williamstown/Sicklerville area of South Jersey and wasn't sure what to expect from Sushi Maki. I was pleasantly surprised by the sushi, I ordered a crazy salmon roll, a spicy tuna roll, a spider roll, a spicy shrimp roll (tiger roll?), tuna tar tar and a Thai milk tea with bubble. Total came to a little over $50. The sushi was very delicious. You can taste the freshness of the salmon and tuna. The tuna tar tar was ok. I kinda wished they gave some kind of crackers with it and I wasn't a fan of the mangoes incorporated into the tar tar. Also the Thai milk tea tasted artificial, not freshly brewed. I would definitely go back to try other sushi items. Also, the people were very nice and the place looks clean and cozy.

    Hibachi Chicken

Really impressed with the food! I ordered Chicken Hiabachi takeout. The wait was about 25 mins, which wasn't too bad at all. This was one of the best chicken hibachi's I've ever had! The staff was very friendly too. I definitely plan on visiting again and I highly recommend others do the same!

    Puréed Spicy Tuna Roll

Food is horrible. Rolls aren't made fresh and rice is old. Got a spicy tuna that came puréed in a roll. Tasted like mayo and old fish.

We were so excited to try this new place that opened up right around the corner, as it's a lot closer than our usual go-to Japanese (Sagami). We also recognized that it's not as established and stayed away from ordering anything too exceptional (like our usual squid/sea scallop/flounder/white tuna/octopus sashimi). Unfortunately, it was still a complete disappointment and we won't be returning. Service was just awful. Sure, it was a Saturday night ... but it took over an hour to get our takeout and had to wait an additional 1/2 hour when there was literally no other customers there. My son (who picked up the food) said friends/family showed up and they all stood around doing nothing while he waited. Then, he had to remind them of the Thai tea they forgot and they also put bobas in it (when we explicitly ordered with NO bobas). Food was not much better. My son ordered the hibachi chicken with hibachi rice (+$1.50). It came with vegetables (broccoli, carrots, zucchini, onions) and a clear broth, but everything had no flavor at all including the hibachi rice (definitely NOT worth the upgrade). Soy sauce helped a bit, but not much. Also, we couldn't figure out what that white sauce was ... as it was a bit sweet (maybe pineapple) but didn't seem to go well with anything (yes, we tried). We also ordered the Tamago sashimi and Spider/Casino/Naruto/King Kong/Sunkist rolls. The egg tamago was thin/overcooked and then doused with too much mirin(?) ... so, it was like hard and soggy cardboard. The rolls seemed fresh enough, but most just didn't have any taste to them. Only one small amount of wasabi was provided and one container of soy sauce, which was not enough especially if we had to flavor the hibachi chicken with it. There was also a small container of what we thought was eel/teriyaki sauce (a little sweet) in the Naruto roll, but it definitely didn't go as that roll is all raw fish (wrapped in cucumbers without rice). The only reason for 2 stars is the Spider roll which was actually tasty and the Casino roll was okay, but nothing else in our $80 order. There might be other items that are good, but this place is just not for us and we don't recommend it for anyone who knows their sushi or sashimi.

After hearing many good reviews, and checking out the reviews on Google, I decided I would give Sushi Circle a try. I was a little apprehensive about the place, because of the location. It's in this really small strip mall on the corner of Fries Mill and Cross keys. I ordered the sushi pizza, and the sushi sashimi lunch. I've included pictures to show you what they look like. The staff was very friendly when I entered the place. They greeted me, and asked me how I was doing. The sushi pizza ($10) is sushi on top of shrimp toast. Don't let the pizza part fool you. The only thing pizza about it is that it's cut into triangles. It was pretty good. It was about a three out of five I would say. Closer to four. The sushi sashimi lunch special ($14) came with three pieces of sushi, a California roll, and five pieces of sashimi. Ginger and wasabi was included. It wasn't bad. Reviewing sushi is kind of hard because it's just meat and rice with stuff in it sometimes. Overall I probably give this place a 3.5 out of 5. The only knocks I have, is that I didn't see the sushi preparers with gloves on. If you're vegan (I'm not), you might be a little worried about cross-contamination of a meat product in your vegan dish. That would be a big one for me if I was vegan. I didn't have time to see how they kept the fish. Mine wasn't cold when I got it. I like them to keep it on ice, so I don't know how fresh it is later in the day. I went as soon as it opened for lunch. Other than those two things, I think the place is pretty good. Is it as good as Mikado or Megu? Not by a long shot, but it's probably the best place in Washington township. It's not a place that you would dine in. Not much going on in the way of ambience or decor. Mostly just a takeout place. If I'm really looking for a great sushi dining experience, I would go to Cherry Hill, or Philly. I think this place caters to the people that work at the hospital, who would probably just order takeout. That being said, it's a decent place for takeout sushi.

Tried this new spot in Washington Twp. Ordered the pork gyoza, chicken hibachi, 2 california rolls, and a crab lover roll. The food was ready a lot quicker than expected which was a plus. Personally, the chicken dish did not seem like your typical hibachi- not my favorite. But, the gyoza and sushi rolls were great. Overall, I'd definitely recommend trying them out!

I am so impressed! And I am a sushi snob. I also rarely give 5 stars. I ordered online and paid in the store. (The online pay option wasn't going through) My order was ready as promised and nicely packed. I had the shrimp shumai and it was so delectably delish I forgot to take a pic of it. I got the Harumaki spring rolls and got the Crazy Salmon Roll. Everything was fresh, perfectly & creatively prepared. I am a big salmon fan and this roll did not disappoint. There were so many items on the menu I want to try. I will be making more visits! The store is practicing social distancing and is nice and clean. Looks like take out for now. No dining in. Great location and plenty of parking in this strip of stores.

Both are paid parking, but maybe others know of free parking in the area. Parking was not expensive - only $1 per hour on the street. However, the parking people were constantly walking around - so be sure to not let your time expire for even a minute!
