I decided to try DT Dim Sum after seeing a food blogger on Instagram hype it up saying it was better than Dim Sum House and that the portions were bigger. Dim Sum House has always been my go to so I wanted to compare. Prices at Dim Sum House are more reasonable and cheaper than DT Dim Sum, plus they make everything fresh to order. When I placed an online order at DT my food was ready in about five minutes. That tells me the food was already sitting in the back either steaming or being kept warm. I ordered siu mai, steamed beef balls, and steamed tofu skin with oyster sauce. Honestly all three were disappointing. The siu mai was doughy and you could really taste the flour. The steamed beef balls were terrible and tasted like pho beef balls. If you have ever had the beef balls at Dim Sum House you know how amazing they are and these were nothing like that. The steamed tofu skin had too much fungus in it and an odd odor with a strange aftertaste. I am glad I gave it a try but I will not be coming back. As for the claim that the dim sum is larger, I found it to be maybe slightly bigger or about the same size, but not worth it since it costs more and does not taste good.

    5/19/25 FYI. Menu.

Quality/Quantity - My wife said we used to be regular customers here, why can I not remember?!?! Maybe she used to be a regular customer?!?! Anyways - A simple "to-go" place. Decent selection, reasonable prices; but there are so many good Dim Sum places in the Bay Area, East Bay Area, etc. Decent size menu, see pictures. Atmosphere - Small to-go place. Plenty of mall parking, but I am sure it might be a challenge on weekends. Open 7 days a week from 8am to 5pm. Closed for their lunch break from 2pm to 2:30pm. Service - Counter service. I like the fact that you guys have online ordering. And delivery. Price - Reasonable. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2007...?

Went to Foodnet next-door. Was craving congee so decided to stop by here. We got the pork and preserved egg congee, as well as the siu mai, har gao, spinach dumplings, and the rice roll with beef stew. The siu mai were very plump and juicy, however, the rest of the dumplings are all very doughy. The beef stew had good umami flavor, however, the rice roll noodles with it were pretty plain/bland since they weren't marinated in the beef stew broth. The congee was great though, a little on the thicker side, but full of pork-will definitely order that again. We ordered to go and our food was ready pretty quickly. You can also order online however they do have a small service fee for doing so. I'd consider ordering the beef stew as an à la carte, but we definitely return for the congee and the siu mai.

This place is such a hidden gem!!! it's been a while since I came back and it still taste the same as before! It's always made fresh and the qualities are always there! Surface is always amazing. They keep their store super clean as well. Definitely we will be back.

Friday, 4/11/3025 San Leandro, CA I just spent the week at a conference in Oakland, CA, and today I was making like a banana and splitting, but first I had to fuel up with some dim sum before hitting the airport. So we found this teeny-tiny hole in the wall, and let me tell you, it was off-the-chain delicious . The portions were ginormous, the prices were super reasonable, and the flavor was so on point that every bite left you begging for another. Check out the pics for the menu. This is a take out place with a few small tables as a sit-in. I give place a 5 star because the food was delicious and the service was quick.

Solid spot for takeout dim sum and congee! I ordered the congee and soy milk--both were good but not amazing. The congee was comforting, though I wish it had a bit more depth in flavor. The soy milk was fresh and not too sweet, which I appreciated. This place is mostly geared for takeout, as there are only a few tables, so I wouldn't recommend dining in. The service is quick, it's a chill vibe. Overall, a good option if you're looking for a quick and convenient bite!

There are two egg custard buns on the menu, what is the difference between the steamed egg custard bun and the lava bun?

Lava bun is more runny. It's a salty egg custard bun if you've ever had that.

Are you open for orders on Xmas day?

Is it better to call in one's order, instead of doing it at the store?

I called it in, drove over, paid, and got my food with less than a few minutes of waiting. I definitely recommend calling ahead, unless there's a language barrier, or you want to point at menu items.

Does anyone know if they're open? Called a few times and there was no answer. TIA!

I originally came to Fusion Delight because of the purple interior…read more Seriously. The giant lotus chandeliers, the deep violet lighting, the old-school banquet hall atmosphere - it immediately reminded me of the large Cantonese restaurants that used to define family dining in the Bay Area years ago. But after eating here during a packed weekend dinner service, I realized the real attraction is not the decor. It is the operational consistency. The dining room was completely full, with a long line of people still waiting outside. Under that kind of pressure, many large Chinese restaurants start losing control somewhere: fried dishes soften, stir-fries lose wok hei, food arrives unevenly, service becomes rushed. Fusion Delight somehow keeps the system together. And what impressed me even more was that the staff never became impatient. Even with the restaurant running at full capacity, the servers stayed friendly, patient, and organized. No chaos, no attitude - just steady service under pressure. That is not easy in a restaurant this size. The Mongolian beef was the first thing that stood out. Instead of thin slices hidden under sauce, the beef here is cut unusually thick and long - some pieces nearly two inches. Thick-cut beef is risky because once overcooked it immediately turns tough, but here the meat stayed tender while still carrying proper wok sear and caramelization. That tells me the kitchen understands heat control and timing. The crispy pork intestines were even more impressive. These were clearly braised first, then fried before the final stir-fry. The outside kept its gelatin-rich texture while the inside still carried fat and aroma, but without the unpleasant odor that ruins this dish at weaker restaurants. Even people who normally avoid intestine dishes could probably eat this version comfortably. That level of cleaning and pre-processing matters. The braised lamb with skin was another old-school banquet dish done correctly. The lamb was soft without collapsing, while the skin still retained structure. More importantly, the prep work was meticulous -- no gamey smell, no rough trimming, no shortcuts. The sea cucumber and pork tendon dish also showed strong banquet-kitchen fundamentals. The pork tendon had clearly been oil-expanded beforehand, giving it that proper soft and elastic texture instead of rubbery chewiness. The sea cucumber still retained bite and structure. The Singapore-style rice noodles and scallop egg white fried rice were textbook Cantonese banquet staples. The rice noodles stayed dry and separated while still carrying wok aroma and oil fragrance. The scallop egg white fried rice looked simple, but every grain remained distinct and lightly coated without clumping together. That level of consistency under volume is difficult. Even the red bean dessert soup at the end was handled carefully. The red beans still held their shape instead of dissolving into paste, while the sago remained fully intact and translucent. Most restaurants stop caring once dessert leaves the kitchen. Fusion Delight clearly does not. And honestly, that may be the best way to describe this restaurant overall. Fusion Delight is not trying to be trendy. It is not trying to become minimalist fine dining. It is not trying to be social-media bait. This is a high-volume Chinese banquet restaurant operating with old-school Cantonese production discipline. Hot food arrives hot. Fried dishes stay crisp. Wok hei survives peak hours. Plating still looks intentional during a packed dinner service. That kind of consistency is harder than people think. And somehow, inside a giant purple dining room filled wall-to-wall with families, they make it work. - Dr. C Purple room approved. Wok heat calibrated. Banquet discipline detected. Consistency at scale = correct.

However, within about an hour, the restaurant was almost full. Even though it wasn't the weekend, it was still very busy. This is one of my favorite dim sum spots because the food is consistently delicious, especially the siu mai--it's a must-try! The service is fast and friendly, which makes the experience even better. There is also plenty of parking, which is a big plus. The restaurant is spacious, with beautiful purple lighting that really catches the eye. The high ceiling also makes the space feel very open and comfortable. Although this place doesn't have the highest ratings on Yelp, it's definitely still very popular and worth visiting.

I guess this was when it started to get less busy. Within an hour, half the diners were already gone. Service was a little slow. They did not have enough servers working all the tables. Our server barely came back to check in on us. The only thing we needed were extra tea refills. The food on the other hand came out in a timely manner and were steaming hot when they got to our table. We ordered about a dozen dishes and they were all delicious. My favorite dish was the Golden Tofu Cube with Salted Egg. It was a little salty and the inside was soft while the outside was crispy. I also liked the Stir Fried XO Sauce Rice Rolls. It was flavorful, tender and I thought they used the right amount of sauce for my liking. The dining area was quite big. It looked like they had just hosted a party the night before since their speakers equipment were still out. This place did have a parking lot which might look big but it could easily fill up during their busy hours. I was lucky to find an open spot when I got here.

The baked pork buns are good - slightly different in that there's no glaze on them but the outside was crispy and the inside tender and the filling was tasty - they are why I'm giving 2 stars. The honey walnut prawns were inedible - the sauce was hard lumpy globs sitting randomly on top of fried shrimps, truly disgusting. The scallion pancakes were not crispy or flaky - Trader Joe's are better. The tofu rolls were cold on one side, like refrigerator cold, while the other side was lukewarm. The jellyfish salad had no flavor whatsoever, just the very slightest hint of sesame. No salt, nothing. The seaweed salad was decent. The deep fried mochi puffs with meat filling were bad. The outer shell was too thick so the inside was uncooked and doughy. Inedible. And, the cold chicken feet were so tough they were in edible. I didn't know you could make chicken feet like that, so tough. Again not really any flavor, they were just tossed with a little bit of chili sauce and hardly any of that. And no vinegar chili sauce for dipping. I would not recommend.

It's getting harder to find places in the Bay Area that still do it this way, mostly because restaurants just don't have the space anymore for carts to weave between tightly packed tables. That alone makes this place feel a little special. The food itself tastes fresh, and yes, the hot sauce passes the test. I've had a few unfortunate (and slightly traumatizing) encounters with off-tasting sauces during the pandemic, so now I always do a cautious smell-and-taste check first. They also serve "tofu fa" (tofu pudding) with a sweet ginger syrup, which was a pleasant surprise. It's one of my favorite desserts and not something you see often at dim sum spots these days since it's not in high demand. Definitely brought back some nostalgic, childhood vibes. Where should I begin? I came to this restaurant with my mom, who lives nearby and has often told me…read morethat the roasted duck here is very good and reasonably priced. We decided to drive over and give it a try. When we arrived, the cashier greeted us politely and asked what we would like to order. We requested half of a roasted duck. She acknowledged the order and called over to the chef to prepare it. The chef walked over and selected a duck hanging on the left side. My mom politely asked if we could instead have the half duck hanging on the right side, mainly because it appeared to be a larger portion. Unfortunately, the chef ignored her request as if he hadn't heard it. I then kindly repeated the request and asked if we could have the one on the right instead. At that point, the chef placed the duck he had taken down back onto the rack and proceeded to serve the next customer in line. He then continued assisting additional customers who arrived afterward while completely ignoring us. After waiting for a while without any acknowledgment, my mom became frustrated and said we should just leave and not purchase anything. Once we said that, the chef suddenly became aggressive and started yelling, saying, "Why the f*** would I cut open a whole duck just to give you half?" As we were leaving, I calmly asked him if the duck on the right side was already cut in half, because we were not asking him to cut a new one. He responded with his mask hanging below his nose and said, "Yes, it's cut in half. So what? I don't want to sell it to you." This interaction was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I'm not sure if he is the chef or the owner, but basic respect and communication with customers should always come first. Due to the situation, I decided to take a photo of the individual. When he noticed, he became even more agitated and chased after my mom and me toward our car. For a moment, I genuinely felt concerned about my mom's safety. He followed us to the car and began trying to take photos of us as well. It was shocking to see someone become so aggressive over a simple request regarding half of a roasted duck. Experiences like this make customers feel uncomfortable and unsafe, and it is not something anyone should have to deal with when simply trying to purchase food. Thankfully my mom and I were not hurt. WE WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN even If it is the last roast duck place in San Leandro, I rather drive up to San Francisco than to spend my money here.
