I've been to this spa so many times at both locations. I love the aura of Cynergy spa. When i think of Cynergy, I think....Candles, incense, brownstone,light neo soul or jazz music, grown n sexy, rustic, cherished. They definitely know how to make u feel special and pampered, if that's what you like. I go here for more of the ambiance. I've been going to spas for about 10 years now and have experienced 5 star spas and whole in the wall places. It all depends on what you need at the time. Just you give you an idea, I took my boo for the couple massage. He's never had one. We both enjoyed that jacuzzi tub, champagne, chocolate cover strawberries, what's not to like. My beau made so may pleasurable noises, he disturbed me. He really loved it. I took my bestie, she feel asleep and they did not want to wake her behind:). My peoples really like the place. I've done hot stone, reflexology, sports etc. Still want to try the facial but just scared to try. I find massages here unfortunately vary by masseuse. There could do a little better with massage technique. They don't really ask you what you prefer or about problem areas. They ask about injuries and then they go to work. Massage here are sometimes good and sometimes the BOMB. Either way you can't lose. You should come here after you've had a tough medical massage as continuous follow up if you have injuries. Always makes you feel a bit more stretched, rested and rejuvenated. My family, friends and I love this place every time I bring them here. On the expensive side, plus you have to leave 1/2 deposit upon making the appt. It's local for me and it's African American owned which I support. Definitely work a try. read more

Ok this is a second hand review. I got my mom a Simple Pleasures spa package for her Birthday. Boy did she love it! Cynergy is located at a beautiful Fort Green brownstone. As soon as my mom arrived she was treated to champagne. After her massage and facial she felt intoxicated(in a good way). My mom really enjoyed her experience. Best birthday present ever! I booked a couples massage with Cynergy after reading about them in Timeout NY. Cynergy is located on a pretty busy street, their neighbors are a taco place that seems to be popular with the kids getting out of school. But don't let that fool you, they appear to have completely sound proofed the space and the interior is nothing but beautiful and relaxing. Ambient lighting, candles, tea, soothing music, detailed decor. The staff was lovely and helpful from start to finish. Before coming in you fill out a little bit of paperwork discussing your medical history and any skin sensitivities. The couples massage takes place in a spacious room with two beds, a jacuzzi and a shower. They provide a bag for your clothes, towels, sandals, and a box for valuables. You spend about 30 minutes in the jacuzzi, followed by a 1 hour massage, and then another 30 minutes in a private room with two glasses of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. The massage starts off with some aromatherapy and lotion. The lotion they use is made with flax seed oil and was perfect for my sensitive skin, and kept me moisturized for the rest of the day. They also used hot rocks and towels at various points. I will say the massage was on the gentle side, but my boy told me this was likely because it was a couples massage, which are traditionally more "sensual". I booked a group package for myself and 2 friends, one of whom is about to get married and with all the stress we figured a relaxing massage, facial and major girlie time were in order. The receptionist was as lovely in person as she was on the phone. The entire staff were exceptional welcoming. They led us into separate rooms to start our treatments. The lady who did my facial asked all the right questions before hand and definitely knew her stuff. It was a very relaxing facial, all the great smells and masks etc but I'm more of a medical facial person. Give me extractions and microdermabrasion any day. But I guess it wasn't that type of facial. I did have my post facial glow anyway so I was more than satisfied. Then I changed rooms (bit of a hassle really) and went to another larger room to do my massage. The masseuse was a friendly, tiny lady, couldn't weigh more than 90lbs soaking wet so I was doubtful that she could deliver on the normal deep tissue massage that I enjoy. I mentioned that I liked a lot of pressure and her face lit up! She was only too happy to prove to me that in this case size didn't matter. She didn't disappoint. The perfect amount of pressure and those invigorating smelly oils - to say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. After that my girls and I met in a separate room where we were treated with champagne and a quiet relaxing place to chat for a while. I indulged in the Birthday Package which included a 30-minute Rose Petal Soak in the jacuzzi, a 50-minute aroma therapy massage, a 60-minute facial, lunch and dessert with champagne (refills incl.) and a mani/pedi that included paraffin dip. Upon entering Cynergy, I received a warm, friendly welcome from Jemma, who escorted me to the room where my rose petal soak and massage would take place. This was a first time spa experience, and Jemma made me feel comfortable and 'at home'. The rose petal soak was heavenly... For just a moment, I was royalty! After the soak, Marsha performed a much needed deep tissue massage with aromatic oils. She was very professional and used her expertise to relieve ALL of my 'stress knots.' Loved this place ! It was my boyfriend and I 2 year anniversary this weekend and what better way to spend it than at a lovely neighborhood spa ! I had been researching on yelp about some good local spots to get a couples massage and this place defiantly lived up to our expectations ! Starting with the half hour warm jacuzzi candlelit experience , followed by a lovely hour massage that put us right into relaxation mode , topped off with a lovely champagne for two with strawberry fondue ! My husband and I recently spent the day at Cynergy to celebrate a very special anniversary. I must say that I had taken a look at Cynergy in the past but was only able to schedule recently because of the distance and my schedule but every moment of it was worth the wait. Our experience began over the phone with Jack who was very patient, returned calls when not avaliable, helped us chooses a package that included all the services we were requesting. He went above the call of duty to follow up with us before our scheduled services to confirm the date we scheduled was correct and provided lodging accomodations upon request. Upon arrival, unbeknownst to us we were greeted by the owner who we were happy was taking necessary precaition due to COVID, she herself took our temperature and Pulse ox as well. We received a warm and friendly welcome before shortly being taken back for our service. Patrice took us back to get us started for our services providing the warmest introduction and welcome with the jacuzzi ready and waiting. The place was beautiful with soft and romantic lighting. All of the spaces that we were serviced in were, very clean and prepared beforehand, elegantly decorated with details that were intricate and ornate. We received services from Marcus, Terry & Aretha. With regard to individual treatments, massages were customized (amount of pressure and sreas of special focus) to our needs. After the scrubs, facial, hand and foot treatments, we felt as though we had new skin. Facials were comprehensive and addressed and concerns with skin care regimen but not used as an opportunity force sale of expensive products as Ive seen in many other high end spas. They are taking this pandemic serious but not allowing it to compromise their level of service. They utilized the necessary partitions, shields and masks for services but with our eyes closed for many we forgot they were there. I must say we were spoiled, treated like royalty. All treats were thoughtfully placed and deliciously fresh. We remained well hydrated throughout the day. They have thing timed so well. I took a few trips to the restroom and never saw other guests that were being serviced. The meal we were served was plated like dinner at a 5 star restaurant with all condiments and essentials placed beautifully beforehand. The staff is a well-oiled machine, transitions were seamless, never running around and moved around like stealth ninjas, they were mindful and quiet while we were quiet and warm and engaging at appropriate times. I was impressed by the professionalism of the diverse staff and how attentive they were to our every need. Our "couples time" was not interrupted, staff clearly defined when we they would return, always a knock and how we would transitions. Although we were booked for many services, we never felt rushed, and each service no matter how small was delivered with excellence with products that smelled naturally amazing and regal adornments at every step. Our anniversary was well celebrated for sure. Our experience felt LUXURIOUS and RELAXING to say the least and we left reluctantly. Our mind, body, and spirit felt RECHARGED. The owner, herself checked us out, late on a Sunday, with a smile. She and her staff are blessed with the gift and takent of hospitality at its finest. Needless to say, we will be back. The team at Cynergy is needed as a part of our wellness regimen. We can't thank them enough for pulling out all the stops on our special day. Cynergy Spa is my new favorite neighborhood spot. My sister got me a free massage there as a gift, and it was INCREDIBLE. I usually fall asleep during massages, but this one was so good that I stayed awake during the entire massage because I didn't want to miss anything. They are incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home the second I walked in the door. Walking in from the bustling street, I instantly entered a very calm and serene space, and was handed tea to sip on while I filled out the form. I went Cynergy Spa via one of their spa packages gifted to me. Although the staff was kind and my facial was great - I'm giving a 3 because my massage was definitely not by a professional massage therapist (I've been getting massages for 10+ years and this was far from professional). I walk in and was greeted, served tea, and took a minute to fill out the intake form. When I get in the room, which was really dark, I was given minimal instructions to get ready for my massage by the front desk staff. Being my first time, I asked questions regarding the service. Online, it clearly states that you can choose which services you want in the package... I asked to choose and I was told it's assumed I'd choose their basic service, which unfortunately wasn't true but I went with it. I waited maybe 5 minutes before my massage therapist came in. His energy was definitely as if he didn't want to be there. He asked me if he needed to be aware of anything and just kept telling me to take deep breaths. I had to ask his name, and give him my name... which confirmed he didn't read the intake form. I knew within 5 minutes that he was not a professional massage therapist, and if so, he hasn't been up to date with his practice or had anything past a basic massage class. There was nothing fluid or symmetrical in his practice. Also, I'm used to be being asked if a male massage therapist is okay, I personally don't mind but I would assume they would be more professional in the privacy when moving around the blanket, which he was not. In the end, and unfortunately, I definitely felt more off balance than when I walked in. My facial was wonderful. I'm glad it was second as I was able to just relax. read more

My amazing boyfriend surprised me with a massage and foot scrub for Mother's Day at Cynergy Spa. The receptionist was super friendly as soon as I walked in which is a BIG plus. Then I was taken to the back where I was in a big room with a massage table, dim lights, and clean. I was given instructions to remove clothing and lay on massage table. The masseuse came in and she went to work! I had a amazing and relaxing massage that smelled so good (I really like the oils she used) for an hour then we proceeded to another room for a foot scrub which was delightful, she scrubbed and put on a paraffin. I was trying to make my maybe less than a year return to one of my favorite spa massage spots. I was off for this week for spring break from March 11th to the 15th so I called as soon as it opened 11 am in search for the one female that i only go for. I told the receptionist her name and if she still worked their and she was so nasty and short with me. I was shocked because I normally receive the best customer service here. She said she was new and I asked her if she can find out if my therapist worked there still and she was like no i can not. She hollered something in the background to someone else about my inquiry and then had nothing more to say. The reception staff here were rude and gave me attitude from the moment I walked in. They also cut 15 mins off my facial time. The facial started late due to their unprofessional behavior. This is $140 facial we are talking about! I really wanted to like Cynergy as it is local business and in a convenient location for me but I was sadly disappointed. I was on time for my appointment and rang the buzzer 3 times no answer even though I could hear it ring. I had to call the spa and ask to be let in. A woman came to the door and did not apologize for leaving me waiting on the steps for 5 mins. There was no 'welcome to Cynergy' 'how are you today' barely a smile. She then shows me to the room and hardly explains how I need to prepare and leaves. I had to go back out to reception to ask for clarification, she's eating behind the counter, please bear in mind there is other staff here so it's not like she is on her own. She comes back to room chewing and explains in an unfriendly manner. I then wait a full ten minutes for the facial therapist arrive. I looked at my watch. It was 5.20 when the treatment started and it ended at 6.05. For $140 this is a ridiculous rip off! The treatment is meant to last a full 60 mins. To cut it short by 15 minutes is unacceptable especially at that price. However the man who did my facial was lovely and gracious and very professional. When I came out to pay the reception lady poured me a glass of water and thrust it at me on the counter. It was bizarre. I have been in many spas all over New York and have never encountered such unfriendly, unhelpful staff. I also need to add that to book this appointment was really difficult- I called the reception and they made an appointment after a lot of back and forth and confusion, she clearly didn't know what she was doing. Then an hour later I get a voicemail to say they actually have no availability on the day that I was booked in. I call back again and make a different date the next day, not very easily I might add- another confused receptionist. An hour later I get another voicemail to say they are unsure of my name and could I call them back?! I call back again and there is no apology - she actually made out that it was my fault. Three phone calls to make an appointment, unfriendly unprofessional staff where they delay your appointment and then cute time off your expensive treatment. Go somewhere else! read more

My husband and I went here for a couples massage last week. He told me this was one of the best birthday presents I had ever given him. The spa was beautiful,very clean and welcoming. As instructed by the receptionist we arrived 15 minutes early. Our room was already ready and the receptionist said she would give us 15 minutes extra in the jacuzzi instead of just waiting in the waiting area for no reason. The couples room was beautiful with tea light candles all around the jacuzzi. Afterwards we enjoyed our side by side massage. I had Robert work on my massage and my husband had Maggie. We enjoyed every moment of our one hour massage. Both Robert and Maggie have magic hands that are soft and gentle but really get down and work on the knots we had with just the right amount of pressure, afterwards my husband and I enjoyed a romantic setting with champagne and strawberries. Wonderful experience! My boyfriend treated me to a massage at this spa today and it was a wonderful day. We purchased the couple's package. Upon arrival, we were both relaxed by the homey feel of the reception and the very easy-going persona of the man behind the desk. As we were early, we waited a while but were offered warm tea. When the room was ready for us, we were led to the room down a dimly lit, candle-lined hallway. It really felt like we were leaving the stress of NYC behind us! We were given clear instructions on how to use the jacuzzi, where to put our belongings and valuables and how long we'd have. We enjoyed 25 relaxing minutes in the hot tub with wonderful smelling bubble-bath and scented oils before it was time for the massages! I had the pleasure of having Marcus as my masseuse and he was incredible. I told him about my shoulders as problem areas and he paid great attention to finding knots and firmly working them out. My boyfriend had Meg and agreed that the massage was great! Afterwards, we were led to another cute room where we had a glass of champagne and chocolate fondue. We were never rushed between treatments or to leave after our two hours.
