I have been going to Vanessa once a month for the past year and she is the best. My skin has never looked better, despite dry patches and all the other fun things that have shown up in my late forties. Vanessa has helped me navigate it all, with both my facials (I do The Works) and advice for home care. She is incredibly thorough, her energy is lovely, and though my skin is on the sensitive side, her instincts have always been spot on. And of course, she has skin like a goddess. Came the other day for a facial with Sydnii, I got the signature since it was my first time here and also my first time getting a facial in about two years. I mostly enjoyed the experience. You do cleansing and a mask and extractions and etc. most of the experience was a face massage which is was into, but I'mmd just set expectations that that's a big chunk of the hour long experience. A few huge pitfalls of the spot though are that all the chairs are set up in the same room, about eight of them (six?) so every time someone new comes in and they explain what's going to happen, you hear someone speaking loudly. Definitely makes the experience less relaxing. Similar thing happens anytime someone comes in or when they answer the phone so it's really all connected. Would be nice if people whispered at least (in the main facial room). Another big big one is the music selection. They play a all 80s stuff, and not only is the music just not good, it's also really not conducive for a peaceful time. I forget now what the song was, but I remember one song in particular was super grating and I couldn't believe they were playing it. It wasn't baby got back, but it was that kind of vibe. Totally fine in some situations just not for a facial. Maybe some people are into the music, but I can't imagine it's the majority of people. Even though I enjoyed Sydnii's facial, the music alone will prevent me from going back. This might seem nitpicky, but I just kept tensing up bc the music was not only bad but the opposite of relaxing. read more

I've gone twice and was very happy with Sydni my person there. The place is a good vibe, small, and there are no private rooms but it doesn't mean there isn't privacy. My friends gave a $150 gift certificate to me. I booked "the works." I was upsold the pumpkin enzyme mask. I walked away very happy and glowing. The esthetician, Jenna is extremely professional, experienced, knowledgeable and thorough. I hope to go there regularly. Just might be tough on the old wallet. Although the price is definitely worth it and the cost is competitive with other facial spots. The salon atmosphere is still relaxing although they were playing like 80s music. There aren't individual treatment rooms. It literally looks like a hair salon but for faces in a white calm room with heavenly light fixtures. I have come here for facials about every month for a couple years now. Amanda and Martina's welcoming spirit, kindness, and professionalism are why I keep coming back. Amanda always welcomes me so warmly- her demeanor always makes me feel at ease and comfortable. She is the best "face" of Blitz. So kind, humble, and helpful--she is awesome. I know I'm in good hands whenever I enter the door and she is there at the desk. Martina is my girl. She knows my skin better than I do...I've received all sorts of different facials (most recently the oxygen facial--the glow afterward is AMAZING, no joke.), almost monthly derma-planing, and bi-yearly micro needling from Martina. You cannot get a bad facial treatment from Martina. It's not possible. She is so talented and skilled and she cares so much about giving you a wonderful experience. This is a review of my second visit to Blitz Facial Bar. My first visit over the summer was so excellent, it is what brought me back this time. Alas, Andrea Denenberg, the esthetician who impressed me so very much is no longer on staff. This is a loss for Blitz. I won't name the specific esthetician who treated me today, but I am disappointed. I'm in my late 30s, and not a skincare newbie. I have been going to dermatologists for well over 20 years, so I know BS when I hear it. The esthetician was very kind, don't get me wrong. But when going over my routine, she suggested HA which is already in my Vitamin C serum. I told her that, but she insisted I needed an individual one for some weird reason. Then she recommended a $122 lactic acid serum from a luxury brand. I had to physically restrain myself from rolling my eyes. Not-great advice aside, the service I paid for offered either a scalp or hand massage. I forgot to share my preference upfront, but I expected her to ask me, as I lay there relaxed and eyes closed, before she sank her hands into my freshly washed hair, leaving me with a head full of messy frizz and stretched-out curls. She also got oil from my face in my hairline. Fortunately, I had no other plans today or I would've been very upset in the moment. Ultimately, my skin isn't as glowy, moisturized, or soft as it was after my initial visit. read more

I'll start by saying that every facialist I've had here has been great. So if you're in a pinch or live close by, it's worth checking out. I've just stopped going because of a bad experience with their manager and just think there are much better facials in NYC. I booked a peel online, a service I've had here before. When I arrive, there's no record of my appointment so I show the manager my confirmation email. She says that peels are an add on which 'their system doesn't even recognize' if it's not booked with a facial. I am not sure why I was able to book an appointment if that's the case, but I say I've had a peel there before. She begins arguing with me, saying they don't do that and that she's the manager and would know if they offered peels. It comes out later that they DO offer stand alone medical grade peels, but they're not an option to book directly on the site, only as add ons (???). She says that the only working aesthetician is busy with another client and gestures me to the door. That's it. No apology. No offer to rebook. No explanation. Just lying that they don't do peels, an unnecessary argument, and being shoved out the door. I was kind of flabbergasted to be honest. read more

2 year update, I still love this place! Sydnii does the best facials, she's got magic hands and always knows what's best for my difficult skin type. I also really appreciate that she goes above and beyond to give me recommendations for skincare products that she thinks would really work for me based on what I tell her about my skin issues. My face always looks and feels so much better after the service, I highly recommend booking with Sydnii if your skin is in need of a pick-me-up or for routine maintenance. Had the best facial with Yadelin today! It's been a few years since I got a facial and I was looking for a reset as well as some advice on my skin care routine. Yadelin was so professional and wonderful - she heard my concerns and explained her recommendation, then had a great facial! I particularly appreciated that Yadelin checked in quietly after using some of the treatments and gave a gentle warning before using anything too hot or cold (such as the really refreshing cold rollers). While the mask was drying, Yadelin also gave the best scalp massage. The treatment area is open with 4 stations, but it is spacious and feels quite private. I could hear murmuring from other individuals but it wasn't distracting. The soundtrack was also calming. Also the receptionist is so sweet and charming - it set the tone off really well. She did an amazing face massage along with several other treatments and at the end the swelling under my eye that I had not been able to improve in months was gone ! paid $200 ish so I was expecting stellar treatment on a micro-derm & customized treatment. I am anal, but I stayed quiet and TRIED to trust the process. When they called done, I went into the bathroom and did that press of the nostrils and hella dirt came out of my pores. I was pissed, my nose was a easy clean ! After I called bluff, another person came and went over my skin.. Following treatment my skin was a-1. but they tried it.......... my advice, mid way in the extractions do another steam so the pores can remain easy... read more

Had a great The Extractor facial with Jenna, and would gladly recommend Blitz--and her specifically! I am visiting family in Park Slope and travelling light, and when I painful zit showed up (in the back of my neck, ugh), I decided it was best to get a professional with sterile tools to help me out. Scheduled online and showed up at my appointment time. Receptionist was friendly and informative, and let me know when my my esthetician was ready. Jenna was warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable. She asked about my current routine, and whether I felt was more dry or oily lately. At the end she jotted down a routine that involved my current products (suggesting alternating my actives to keep them in rotation, while being kinder to skin in the summer months) and added a hydrating BHA toner in the AM to help with summer's more active oil production. It was so thoughtful of her! And despite being a skincare nerd, I felt that I learned some new concepts. Oh, and that zit? Carefully evaluated, popped with a sterile lancet and calmed with a niacinamide toner. It is two days later and healing like a dream. I am so grateful to be rid of the temptation to pick at it. I usually get a facial about once a year as a way to treat myself, get some help with my skin and receive some feedback from a professional about how to care for my skin a little better. I came into Blitz with high hopes. The decor is relaxing, clean and professional. The front desk person was warm and lovely. However as soon as I was received to get my facial, it kind of went downhill from there. I got hustled back into the treatment area. The esthetician asked a couple of health related questions and then got right to it. I had signed up for The Works, which is supposed to be a "custom" service. I opted out of microdermabrasion since I have sensitive skin, and the esthetician said we could do a gentler mask instead. No other customizations were suggested. The facial took place in an upright chair that was leaned back which was pretty uncomfortable. The space was cold, I got covered with a light blanket while generic pop music blasted over the sound system. The esthetician silently applied various products to my face, commented how "nice" my skin was but didn't give me any specific information on how the products were chosen for me. The massage was extremely light, pleasant but nothing special. The products felt heavy, a lot of them were cold. The extractions were minimal, and she only focused on my nose and brow area. After what seemed like a relatively short amount of time, she said "okay, you are finished." After checking the clock I discovered I had been in the chair for 45 minutes, not an hour. We had agreed on a 60 minute treatment. So even though I had opted out of one treatment, I still think I should have received the time I paid for. I was too tired to contest this, so I paid and left. My skin looked pretty moist from all the product, a little pink, but pretty much the same. I'm not expecting miracles, but it would have been nice to have some sort of glow or brightness. I was planning to get a gift card for a friend too, but the whole thing had just turned me off and I didn't feel confident about recommending this place to anyone else. I think if you pay 135 dollars for a treatment, it should be something quite special and a catalyst for some kind of change. The time was too short, the service very generic, there was very minimal intake or personalization to the whole process and it was EXPENSIVE. Next time I will splurge for facial I will go to a place that offers more privacy and a better quality of service. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. read more

Blitz facial bar is my go to for glowing skin -- so much so that I will travel all the way to park slope (from Manhattan) for their treatments! I have had a number of facials in New York City, ranging from Skin Spa to Great Jones to Bliss spa. In my opinion, the facials at blitz are so much better. And even though you're not lying down in a private room (are actually in chairs), somehow the Blitz facial feels MORE relaxing. They take extra time to massage you while serums set. These facials are not only amazing for your skin, but you feel really calm and relaxed afterwards. I go for the IPL for skin tightening and sun damage - it really helps with some sun damage/discoloration on my face. Love this place ! read more

I came in with "okay" skin, but now after almost a week, I'm seeing much improvement! I had Sara for the treatment and she was very thorough. The overall space was clean and atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. She was very knowledgeable at being aggressive enough in treatment without being too harsh on my skin. I could definitely feel the products she chose for me working, but didn't leave looking red and beat up. My skin was noticeably smoother and I couldn't stop touching my face on the way home- bad I know. My makeup looks better, and now that I'm a week out, blemishes that were under the surface for months are finally starting to purge and clear. Be realistic in your facial- you will not leave with airbrushed skin, but if you're committed to your skin looking and feeling healthier, I highly recommend. read more

I have bad skin I go in I get the max "the mirco " or" the works " they do a lot microdermabrasion and extraction n massage I have a few ppl here including Nike who is so nice! They always make time for me witch is great bc I can never book a head of time sorry ! It seems great in here ! They don't push there products in any gross way like other ppl do I use Sunday Reilly n Mario b products n they r happy with me using those ! I wish they had a punch card thu ahah ! I would tell anyone who pimps n skin issues get the works the blitz is for ppl who need there skin washed not de bunked hahah! I got the micro. Undoubtedly, it was one of the worst facials I ever had and would recommend to pay a little extra in favor of a more thorough and personal experience. Facial was about 20 mins, and mostly consisted of moisturizing my face. The micro itself was over a couple of random batches across my t-zones, rather than systematically applied across my entire face. It was a single pass through, too, so didn't feel as effective. read more

Took me some time to commit and to really address personally what I wanted to accomplish with my skin goals. Blitz truly helped me make that happen. I booked my first appointment back in September 2021 and have been going monthly for almost a year now. My skin looks incredible and I couldn't thank Jenna enough for taking care of me consistently for the past 8 months. She really understand my skin, what it needs, and how it reacts. Recommends amazing products that give great results between my sessions with her. After the pandemic my skin was awful, I knew I needed some professional help to get me back on track. Jenna has been educated on all skin tones including African -American skin, how to treat and give chemical peels that are in a safe and helpful manner. So much so, even my mom goes to Jenna as well. I'm so lucky to have her on my side and HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend her if you are looking for someone to take your skin seriously and have some goals to accomplish. Great brand, great product and clinician but my most recent visit was a huge disappointment. They called to cancel my scheduled facial clinical, would I mind a substitute, an hour before the scheduled session. The music was loud disco and there was some confusion about my regular treatment and my skin looked like hell the next day, inflamed and broken out. I NEVER complain, but felt I had too. The management responded by basically saying customers usually like their soft music. Not an apology. It was so loud I almost found it unbearable and would have walked out except the person who was doing my facial was gracious and it wasn't her fault. read more

I want to give a higher rating bc, Nike, my esthetician was super nice, but I just realized I was robbed!! (Not her fault.) I made an appointment for "the extractor" at the PS location. The description on the website and brochure states it includes a mask. After a brief skin analysis, cleansing and some kind of vacuum extraction, the esthetician told me that if I wanted a mask, it would be an extra $15. I was kind of relaxed and doubted what I read in the brochure and website description of the facial I purchased, so I agreed. It was a peel off mask that didn't add any time to the 30 minute facial! I thought perhaps I would "glow" like I normally do after a facial, but no. I didn't glow. I looked the same. The esthetician was really nice and I suppose knowledgeable about my skin, but, honestly, for over $100 plus a sizable tip bc I didn't realize I was gypped, I expected more. I'd rather splurge twice a year across the street at the other spa where you get your own room and a massage and oils and all kinds of good stuff. Sadly disappointed. read more

I think the measure of a good facial is that you leave looking "glowy" and maybe a bit pink - but I looked worse walking out than walking in!!!! I went in for "the works". My facialist was lovely, warm and friendly and extremely professional - but the final product was unsuccessful extractions that left me looking like I had little red mosquito bites! She did tell me during the facial that she was not able to properly extract my blackheads something about them being deep, and told me not to be disappointed. Very polite of her, but my finished product was not worth the 139 dollars that was charged. Will not be returning to this salon unfortunately. read more
