We arrived I waited about 20 minutes (was told it was because they were waiting for another room to open up). Facial was okay- but most of the time heard peoples' voices in room next door (I think a lady rents space for salon- so literally could hear all the ranting that someone might do in a salon not really relaxing you know). Had to move room for massage which was a bit annoying, and realized when I got massage probably not a good idea to get massage next as I did facial. my face started to be quite sensitive and asked the person a few times if I could stop (realized not a good idea to do massage after and wouldn't be worth it if only part of it) and she asked owner who said that I already paid for it. They didn't even come to room to ask why....also continued to hear the noise from salon, room I was in had no music but a vent and light on top of me. One facial and one diamond microdermabrasion later and I am singing New Skin Esthetics' praises! I had a facial by Emilia and a diamond microdermabrasion by Veronika. My first appt was w Emilia and she took the time to ask me questions about my concerns and skin care routine. During the facial, she advised me of why she was doing certain things, but in a most tactful way so that the relaxing aspect of the facial was not at all impacted! Veronika asked me about any allergies, explained some sensations I might feel, and what to expect after. I like the mood of the place too--I never feel like I am being sold anything. It is a testament to the quality of their service: they don't need to "sell" anything because their quality of service and the results you will see after the first treatment (again, I only had facial and microdermabrasion but feel so well taken care of in their hands that I will likely try other services eventually) sell themselves! And here I thought I was taking care of my face with a nightly cleansing routine- well apparently it wasn't enough because the gunk and layers that came off my face during my micro dermabrasion session were appaling-seriously, ewwwww. And I take care of my skin, I am hardly ever out in the sun, I thought I knew which products to use on my face, which work and which didn't but if that were the case, I wouldn't have had so many nasty breakouts. I purchased a groupon online, made an appointment and was seen by Emily. She is so sweet, professional, and very thorough. She takes her time to explain everything from skin regimine to daily dieting habits that will affect your skin. She is very knowledable and obviously loves what she does and it shows in her work because she doesn't skip any steps. I have had a chemical peel, and other micro derm sessions elsewhere but none were so pampering and deep cleansing as Emily's. From cleansing, to exfolliating, to applying sweet fruity scented enzyme creams, to facial steam, warm press towels, to neck/shoulder/upper chest massage and cleansing/exfolliating-I was not expecting such luxury and was pleasantly surprised and pleased. Do I recommend her? Hell yesss Will I come back here? Uhhh I'm practically gonna live here Will I bring my entire clan here? I've already lined them up My face is glowing, soft, and 10 times lighter. I recently purchased a Groupon for four session of microdermabrasion. I had really bad oily skin with a lot of hyper-pigmentation so I was very excited to try out this treatment. I got there early and filled out the survey they had. The place was well kept and clean. And in minutes I was taken back to the massage room. I don't remember the name of the lady who I had but she was very kind and knowledgeable with all my questions. First she washed my face with a cleaner that smelled citrus orange, then cleaned my face (including my neck and chest) with a wet towel. She washed it again with a different cleanser then wiped my face dry to begin my treatment. She used a diamond tip and moved that over my skin while There was suction to suck out all of the dirt from my pores. It didn't hurt at all, just a very very slight pain where I still had acne. She even did the treatment on my neck which I was very pleased with. If you want a extraction it'll cost an extra $25. It was worth it! She did a amazing job and took her time. She kept making sure I was okay and apologizing if it was hurting. I only gave it four stars because when I called before to make a appointment no one really answered the front desk. I had to call multiple times until finally I was able to set a flexible time. read more

I have to say the girls are really profesional and efficient, my facial was done by Emily, and she is great, acknowledged and smart. She offered me the best option for my skin and we create a treatment plan for beautiful skin. (Although she told me my skin is not bad) About their products OMG! Update: the manager reached out to me towards the end of August. I called and made a new appointment for Sept. 22. The receptionist just called to cancel my appointment because the esthetician has a birthday to attend. I asked for the previous Sunday. I was told they do not open on Sunday. Then, I mentioned the manager asked me to reschedule and why would they schedule me for Sept. 22 (a Sunday)? I was told they open on some Sundays and would be able to book me for the previous Sunday, but in the middle of the day at 1PM. There is so much inconsistency for this business to run effectively and to ever receive my business again. read more

I bought a Groupon for 4 microdermabrasion. Appointment was hard to make, calling them three times and finally got an appointment. Considering the great reviews I read on yelp, I trusted that this place will be amazing, but I'm disappointed for the results after I came from Manhattan: travel to this place was a long journey, but I'm thinking, I don't mind as long as I find a place worth going for a great facial. It took me an hour an half to get from Fulton street to the spa. As I walked in, exhausted and sweaty from walking. I was greeted by a very sweet girl, I filled out paperwork and waited for less than a min. The esthetician came out to walk me to a room. The room was nice and good relaxing music. When she shakes my hand, I felt the dryness of her Palm and I'm thinking "oh no, that will hurt my face." I got ready, she came back into the room, asked for little questions about my skin and my concerns, then asked if I wanted extraction for $25: why not?! I said yeah sure. She cleanse my face and she put gloves on, I truly disliked the gloves as it didn't feel soft when she massaged my face like other spas I went to. However, she was super nice, took her time and chatted with me about skin care and how to take care of my face, which I truly appreciated. She then gave me steam and enzyme, then go on to extraction on my face. It wasn't painful and told me if anyone extracts and it's more painful than this, then they're doing it wrong. The extraction was super quick, I guess I didn't have a lot of black heads. When she's done. She began giving me a shoulder and neck rub, that felt so good. That went on about 5 mins, then she moisturized my face and told me I was done. It took approximately 50 mins total. I looked in the mirror, my skin was glowing and smooth. I went home super happy, but two hours after I got home. My face broke out in hives and it was so itchy. I was so scared to scratch it, I immediately washed my face (though I was told washing face after a facial is a waste of money). BUT I CAN'T STAND THE ITCHINESS. I washed my face, put a cool towel on for 10 mins. The itchiness went away (THANKS GOD!). I went on about my day. Washed my face again at night to make sure. Next morning, I got crazy breakouts all over the spots where she extracted, called and spoke to the Esthetician and said that it was normal because the enzyme is squeezing out all the bacteria and should go away soon. It has been 5 days and nothing. I've done microdermabrasion before and always left me glowing and bright/clear face for weeks. I immediately cancelled my next appointment with them. The service and the people are extremely nice. Maybe my skin has a weird reaction to their products as My face is very sensitive. I care about what's being put on my face, so I'm going to avoid this place. However, I still recommend this place to people who love a goood service at a decent price. read more

And even then, can it really be called accountability when a response is riddled with misconstruals of fact and justifications for subpar service?
