Just a short walk from Union Square park, Satori Laser provides exceptional professionalism and cleanliness during this rampaging pandemic. Upon entering the facility, I was kindly greeted by the two staff at the front desk. Hand sanitizer and gloves were provided and shortly after checking in, I was offered tea/water. I noticed that the shop is very clean and I felt very comfortable. I sat down as I waited for the technician for only a couple of minutes before heading into the consultation room. I was greeted by Kate, the laser technician, in the consultation room who kindly explained what to expect. She was receptive to my many questions and nervousness as a first timer. I really appreciated that there was a screen between me and Kate. We discussed worries of pain, their Satori Laser, the number of sessions/pricing and then we quickly made our way over to the treatment room. The treatment looks like a standard spa room. I don't know why I expected for there to be giant robot machines but it was a pleasant surprise haha. The laser treatment itself only took about 2 minutes and I would rate it about a 3-4 pain out of 10. I definitely felt it but it dissipated quickly because their laser's cooling system. Note: there was definitely a burning smell, which Kate earned me about, but my moms incense is stronger so eh. After the treatment, I made my next appointment and was about in less than half an hour! In regards to results, I am noticing slightly less hairs than usual after my first session. I was told that with more sessions, the hairs will be finer and sparser until none remain. Great customer service and technicians! I've never felt uncomfortable with any of them! My most recent technician Ariel was super nice and answered my questions! The bathrooms are well supplied with face wash, lotion, soap, and tissues. The rooms are clean and there are curtains to block to block the door. I've never met a rude staff there! If you're ever hesitant on laser hair removal, I'm here to tell you that you'll never regret it. It's made my life more convenient since I never have to shave again. I went in for a consultation and jumped into my first session. So I won't lie and say it doesn't hurt (at least a newbie on her first try.)That's just not true. But it was a lot less pain than a Brazilian and I only felt a stinging/heat sensation in the delicate parts. But the fact that it only took 10 minutes and I walked out so smooth, made it worth it. I had been a LOYAL customer of Satori Laser (14th st location) since 2018 because of all the good reviews I'd read online. THREE (3) years later, here I was still getting treatments from them until this October! Not anymore, lesson learned! You are wasting your time & money if you are getting treatments from them past the 8-10 session mark they promise! They are HIGHLY unprofessional & they will do absolutely nothing for you. They will promise you things and change up their words. I first visited Satori for a consultation in 2018. They asked me if I wanted to start my sessions that day and I didn't have any issues with that. Supposedly the lady who does the consultations, she's been in the industry for more than a decade and is very experienced.. however I went home and noticed burns on my underarms. I still have those scars from my first treatment. They provided complimentary sessions for microdermabrasion which did absolutely nothing. Recently, the same happened but in a different area. They told me they would prescribe me medication to heal that and get rid of the pigmentation, but guess what, I heard back nothing..no follow-ups. I have gone through 12-15 treatments on most parts of my body and still there is excess hair growth. When I say excess, I mean it! After 14-15 sessions, I understand beings spotty, but having full hair growth everywhere as if I never got treated is something else! Also please be mindful, those are not hormonal areas! They claim their machines to be the highest and most powerful, but it is bs! Until Tamomi was there, the treatment & settings worked for me but since she left in 2020 and I got a different tech, I started getting trapped hair follicles and soo much hair growth everywhere (picture below from my 13th session for 3/4 arm). Michelle, who is from management, she promises you loads of things, but fails to follow- up. Their customer service really sucks. They will claim to look after you and "work with you", but that's their business strategy to keep you coming. She'd offered me complimentary sessions, but guess what? She completely shifted from that mindset--multiple times she promised she would follow up with me to see how the last treatment worked, but there were no follow-ups. Bad Management! I would highly suggest you to stay away from this trashy place and save your money and invest in a better laser salon! I wouldn't be surprised if they paid someone to get fake reviews on google. I had my last underarm laser treatment session (6 total) and I have nothing but praises for this location! The place is clean, staff friendly and accommodating, and laser techs attentive and knowledgeable. A special shout out to Marissa who patiently answered all my questions throughout my sessions. My body reacted positively to the treatment and my armpits are now hair-free with just 6 sessions! I started in July 2018 and at first the treatments we're spaced out every 4 weeks, then 6 weeks and then longer, until finally the last treatment which was this month. The treatment itself is slightly painful (think multiple mini needles poking you in the entire armpit area followed by a cold air to diffuse the sting) and they up the "voltage" (forgot the term) every new session. The best present I could have ever received is laser hair removal from my lower neck. You go into it thinking nothing is really going to happen, but i saw results after my first treatment. The subsequent treatments made the progress even more amazing. I have really sensitive skin and shaving used to give me massive razor burn. Plus my facial hair is really dark, so doing drag left my clothes dirty if I wore high collars. After a year of regular visits, and I do stress regular, I don't have to shave my neck anymore. I just have to 100% give it up to Satori. I first found them on Groupon and am so happy I did. They had a great deal (something like 140ish for 6 sessions for a small area). Since initiating my treatments for my sideburns, I recently added on a package for the back of my neck. Each of the technicians have very different approaches. My first treatment for my sideburns (which was my first laser treatment ever) hurt like crazy with Irina. My 2nd treatment could barely be felt. My 3rd treatment (with Kate) hurt like nuts. I began lasering the back of my neck today, which hurt too, but already I'm so happy I took the plunge. To be honest, I kinda like that it hurt; I feel like that means it's working, though I'm sure I'm totally wrong lol. I don't mind the pain at all. It's not unbearable. But more importantly, the treatments are EFFECTIVE. After my first sideburn treatment, I swear my hair didn't grow back. My hair only began growing back (super thin and slow) after my 2nd treatment because it had been ~8 weeks since my last appointment...so naturally my hair grew back. There are going to be other deals that come and go for other salons, but paying the "regular" price for additional services is soooo worth it. The treatment is effective; you're in and out within 10 minutes depending on your area; and the women there are so stinking nice. Today I was going to do my hairline, and Michelle basically talked me out of it. They are not trying to upsell you. They want you to feel good, look good, and be satisfied. I will for sure add more services when I can save up the dough. My arms are next!! And I appreciate so much that Satori offers transparent pricing. I hate when salons want you to come in for a consult before sharing pricing info. It's bull crap. Overall: This place is great! I am at my 6th session for underarm hair removal and it's been amazing. I can't remember the last time I have to shave. I would continue coming here for other parts of my body. I did recommended my friends to come here and they love it too. FYI this place has a groupon you can check out. Laser process (5 stars): Before your first session, you sit with a laser specialist for your free consultation where they will go over the process and things to avoid before and after your laser appointment. I recommend that you wear a sleeveless shirt for every appointment so you don't have to take off your shirt. If you are sensitive to pain, there is a little stinging but nothing too extreme. It's more like little pinches. Each session afterwards will take less than 10 minutes. It's extremely fast. Service (5 stars): The staff here is extremely friendly, pleasant, and honest. For my 4th session (my sessions were 6 weeks apart), I didn't have any hair to zap so they recommended that I wait 2 more weeks, which they didn't have to do. Over the course of my consultation and 6 sessions, I was able to see a majority of the technicians on staff and all were attentive, helpful, very efficient, and talked me through my progress each step of the way. Everyone at the front desk was very accommodating with rescheduling within the 24-hour limit and patient when I was running a minute or two late. Proper care and safety was communicated clearly and there was detailed and consistent reminders of Covid-safety regulations before my appointments. I was really optimistic about these treatments at first but unfortunately I have to say I don't think I got my money's worth. I did the suggested amount of treatments but I quickly realized that each technician has a different level of training and so I ended up in a situation where at first it seemed like I was getting the treatment I needed but then I would have an appointment where the person treating me that day would miss entire areas of my face or put the laser at a level that wasn't effective. Consequently it's been a few months after I've gotten my treatment and virtually all the hair is growing back, particularly on my face which is the most upsetting since its growing back more in the areas that weren't treated consistently. My bikini is also growing back in much the same way. After all the pain I went through and the money I spent I feel like it was in vain because I'm right back where I started.
