I get laser here and everyone is so friendly! All the staff are nice and usually answer your questions to the best of their knowledge. The place is clean and not noisy. They are great for people of color as I'm black. I have not had any burns or any other issues since being here and I've been a customer for about 2 years now. They have summer sales, Black Friday sales, and holiday sales. So you're able to get laser packages pretty cheap. I only wish they offered electrolysis and their mico needle sales were cheaper. AMAZING EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND! Highly recommend!!! First, the Black Friday sales (and sales basically year-round) are amazing. They make laser hair removal affordable and accessible. I bought 2 medium packages for 5 sessions each. I was nervous about getting a Brazilian, so I only planned to do a bikini line (and my underarms). Upon meeting Joscelyn, she explained the process super well, was super kind, and very friendly. She explained more about my skin tone (Asian skin is different) and how it would react differently to the laser. I completely trusted her and decided to change to a Brazilian. I needed to pay more because of my upgrade from a medium to a large. The CUSTOMER SUPPORT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!! I was worried because the Black Friday sale ended, and I didn't want to upgrade if it was going to be super expensive. The managers honored the Black Friday price and refunded part of my purchase so that I was only paying the difference between a large and medium. AMAZING!! They responded quickly, professionally, and were super kind. I couldn't recommend them more. As for the actual laser experience, Joscelyn was super kind. She explained everything and made me feel very comfortable. The studio is very clean and kept up well. The laser was painless and VERY quick. They accept Venmo, Zelle, and cash tips. Unfortunately, I had an awful reaction to my facial & they have no customer service. I have good skin & have had many facials in my day but never have I had any sort of reaction & this was severe. Back in 2018, when my skin was flaring up and I didn't know what to do, I came here for my first facial. My aesthetician was so kind to me and she gave me so many tips and pieces of advice to go forward and really create a great skin care routine for myself. I ended up finding a dermatologist that worked well for me and the rest was history. Anyway, in 2020, I realized they were having a special for the holidays for laser hair removal packages. I'm the kind of person that religiously would go to get waxed and never miss a appointment. I would wax every single month. Mostly because I was dealing with ingrown hairs, and I was constantly in a bathing suit year-round so I figured why not. At the time, they were pushing a special for a full body laser hair removal package. You were able to pick seven areas of the body, and this package costed less than $1400. I believe I paid about 1275. This year, in 2022 they don't offer this package I believe they stop the promotion but it was a really great investment. I was able to go to New York City every single month and get my treatments. It was never an issue getting myself on the schedule, and the receptionist and aestheticians at Erase Spa were always really kind. Even when I had to reschedule, they always worked with me. I ended up purchasing a smaller package of laser hair removal treatments in order to supplement that full body package that I had purchased previously. 10 out of 10 would recommend. I feel like laser hair removal is the best option when it comes to removing hair on the body. It lasts quite a long time, has really great results for me, and they also are able to cater to melon aided skin. This is really important because not all med spas or clinics are able to do this. The front desk staff is always friendly, easy to navigate their salon and it's always very clean. I'm partial to going to Elizabeth for my treatments (although she books up fast!) but every tech I've had has been wonderful. This spa is located on the corner of 30th and 7th ave. The place is between Harry's and bravos pizza. When you arrive you will see a long staircase. The spa is on the 2nd floor when I arrived everything was nice and clean. I came here for the silk peel. They had a great Black Friday deal for $120 compared to the original price $200 The silk peel started with some steam to release and push up all that gunk. They then apply one of their products to help get rid of dead skin. It kind of stings a little but it's tolerable. They also apply high frequency to remove the gunk/ bacteria under your skin. They then put a mask on your skin. I had the clay one and I felt it was just okay. I left with the "give me boost" serum for $30 and after using that for about two weeks now as my moisturizer my face is completely different than what it was before. I haven't had no crazy breakouts and my face feels much nicer and softer. The only thing I would say with the silk peel I came in with the expectation that my blackheads on my nose will all be gone that something I would of like explained better if there was another facial that does that or does it take a couple of silk peels. I have been considering laser hair removal for so long, but I had always gotten mixed information as to wether or not it was okay for darker skin. As I saw technology change I decided to look into it a bit more. I was extremely hesistant to purchase a deal from Erase Spa, as I have seen so many people including celebrities get work done and always have positive things to say. There are many spas that provide free services if positive reviews are left so its hard to tell. I decided to take a risk and purchase a deal directly through Erase Spa because the prices were amazing., I bought a medium package (used for my armpits) and a brazilian package. First visit- My first session was with Tatiana, she was amazing ! She explained everything and made sure I was extremely comfortable. Though I normally get waxed I could be a bit fidgety, Tatiana was extremely patient which was great she took her time and gave me breaks if needed. The process- I am now on my third session and though I was not able to stick with Tatiana all of the girls Ive had were great. The sessions are extremely quick i am done with both armpits and brazilian in 15 minutes, I wish I'd begun my sessions sooner, I could not be happier. My hair has barely grown back and I am only on my third session. I cannot wait for the final results. I've been coming here for laser hair removal for 2 years now, and recently decided to take advantage of the promotions they had for skin treatments. The deluxe hydrafacial and erase facial with Jocelyn are the best. She is so detail oriented with extractions, cleansing, and it really feels like you are getting your money's worth compared to other med spas in the city. I've been going here for over a year and a half. I used to do the full body package which was amazing and really working for my body (brown skin), their laser has been the best for me so far. But then I have had several experiences where I had an appointment booked and I would show up and the appointment was moved without my knowledge, or I would show up and they could only do one area rather than all. I've come to erase spa for myself and recommended it to my mom. My mom doesn't live here and is here in NYC for the year, her English isn't the best but I thought it's a Brazilian laser how much talking does she have to do. My mom bought a 6 sessions Brazilian laser treatment, and her 3rd and 4th session she had Ahuva k who was was very rude, the first time Ahuva got upset with my mom because my mom missed a spot when she shaved, Ahuva charged her a 15 dollar fee for passing the razor once on the spot. My mom understood and was okay with it even though Anuka relayed the message very rudely. Her fourth session my mom did not want her session with Ahuva again and it was scheduled with Tatiana. Until the day of her appointment it was changed last minute with Ahuva again. My mom was hesitate doing with her again but she was assured it was fine. Ahuva again stated my mom missed a spot and got very upset, left the room and went to the front desk in front of everyone in the waiting room complaining about my mom, very unprofessional and embarrassed my mom. She then proceeded to wanting to charge my mom 50 dollars this time for this area. One it's the fourth session, why does she have such huge patches according to Ahuva. Second, the first time was 15 dollars and now 50, very weird. My mom didn't think there was any big patch and was very put off by the situation. She still has two sessions left and the front desk person scheduled her next appointment, six weeks later my mom calls because she found it weird that they haven't called or wrote for confirmation. The front desk person states there's no appointment even though my mom has a text stating so. My mom then tells her it's fine when she come in and the front desk person is giving her a hard time to give her another appointment. I'm very upset at this since I recommended my mom, she feels very sad at the situation. Is it because she barely speaks English that they have been so rude to her? She obviously does not want to come back, getting a Brazilian is such a personal thing and she feels unwanted in this establishment. She still has two sessions left and they stated no refunds. This place is the absolute best!! I've gone in for 6 sessions for laser hair removal and I've seen significant results. They say with dark skin and dark hair- it's hard to see results, but I've seen such great results. Keep in mind that laser does not work well on thin hair- so avoid those areas. I've been getting full body which I purchased on Black Friday through their website and got 6 sessions of full body for such an affordable price. Just left Erase, where I had gone to begin a package that was gifted to me. I had the first appointment of the day and called while I was on the way to let them know I would be a bit late as I was stuck in major traffic. The woman on the phone told me it was not a problem and that she'd let the team know I was on the way. Upon arrival they told me they would have to reschedule as the laser tech could no longer see me. Next available that fits with a typical 9-5 working schedule like mine is well in to December when I will already be gone for the holidays. I would have understood completely if I was told on the phone initially that I'd need to be rescheduled as I was late (although out of my control entirely), but I RUSHED crosstown to get to the spa only to be told I couldn't be seen? Furious, and really poor customer service. The customer service manager and owner of the spa followed up with my by email and phone and were able to get me in for my treatment same day that evening. Erase Spa just gained another fan. I've been seeing raving reviews all over social media and now I get why. I had a great experience from beginning to end! I caught a deal via instagram for an Erase Signature Facial + Free Jet Peel for $250. I booked my appt via phone but you can also book through the MindBody website (noted availability for evenings is limited). Fast forward to my appt date - the Sken location is very nice and easy to locate. There are two floors - one for skincare and the other for laser. Everything was immaculate and the front desk girl was really nice. Gia, my assigned esthetician, came over within mins and set me up in the room. She explained everything thoroughly and was very friendly throughout the service. She asked questions about my skincare routine and my concerns. The facial itself was nice, a little short in comparison to others I've had but good nonetheless. I also did the silk peel which was awesome - the extractions did hurt a little due to the suction but beauty is pain. The jet peel which I had last was fantastic and felt amazing on my skin. Following the facial, I noticed instant results - my face was glowy and my pores look diminished. Its now been 2 days and although I have some redness in the extractions, my skin looks great! I do have to say that they're def. on the pricier side when it comes to skin treatments but I think its worth it. Don't waste your time. They don't even follow their own procedures and policies listed on their website. They are not accommodating or flexible. I had a 12:15 appointment on Thursday. I couldn't find parking so I called at 12:16. No one answered. I found parking and called again to let them know I was coming up at 12:26. They informed me that there's a 5 minute Grace period and the tech would no longer be able to see me. This is not listed in the reminder email or on the policy section of the website. I asked if I could come in any other time that day and they said they're booked til the end of June. What I did find on their website was that if you're late you can skip a service. I was getting 3 body parts done. So I could have easily skipped one and tipped the tech for her time but that was not offered to me. Called on Friday to get a refund, the receptionist said she would speak with the manager and get back to me in an hour. She never called me back. I called today, Saturday, and the receptionist said the managers are out for the weekend and will be back Monday. I'm tired of the stupid phone tag. I want a refund. This place is soo wonky. They boast this couture-esque vibe on Instagram but the technicians are decent at best. It often feels like they are in a rush and don't pay much attention to detail. The girls at the front desk, while nice, have screwed up my appointments twice. This place is great, reliable, and has great prices and specials on laser hair removal. The staff is nice and all pretty girls who work there (you would think they ask for headshots when they apply for the job-- wait, do they? Lol) The owner, Lisa is very hands on with her business and makes sure she trains all of her specialists to do a great job. The laser hair removal is only 15 minutes, doesn't hurt, it's just a pinch and the specialists always ask/test how it feels before continuing and will make adjustments to the pressure if needed. They all make good conversation to pass the time away! I love that they have the YAG machine, which works best for women of color/women with pigmented/darker skin tones/coarse hair. There is no elevator so be prepared to walk up a LONG flight of stairs to get to the laser treatment area. I'm a runner so it's exciting for me to run up the stairs, but for others, it may be annoying and you'll probably be out of breath by the time you reach the top where you go for laser hair removal area, which is on a separate floor from their other spa services. The only thing I would suggest is they try to make it a habit of reminding their clients before they leave not to go to the gym or take a hot shower for two hours after laser hair removal treatment. You don't get the automated reminder email until 8am the next day, AFTER the time has already expired for you to follow these important instructions. Yes I have been coming here for a while but many of us are busy and on the go and we forget to cancel the gym and/or hot shower after a (stressful) commute in NYC. The reminder should be part of the service. I like how they have Venmo options to make it easier to tip for those of us who don't always carry cash: there's a sheet on the wall by the front desk, where you can just scan the bar code of your specialist and tip them right there! My first session for my Brazilian was with Ahuva. She was nice but very "matter of fact" and to the point.- not a lot of bedside manner if you will. It was my first time getting laser hair removal and I'm not ashamed to say that I wanted to be babied just a little....well she ain't the babying type lol. So for my next session I decided to try someone else and they put me with Gia to do my legs - huge difference. Gia was amazingly sweet, gentle, gave enough coddling to satisfy my needs and chatted with me the entire time to help ease my mind. Here for my 5th session. They are extremely clean, professional, and comforting. I found that some areas are painful while others aren't, particularly the bony areas like my ankles and knees and the more generally sensitive areas. I usually use the numbing cream that they sell ($10) to help ease the pain. I got a Groupon and went with two friends so I got a very good deal. Even after signing up, I referred another friend and they gave me an extra session! (Remember to tip well!) I've seen a lot of progress in just the first two sessions alone. I bought a deal here a couple years back because the price was right and the reviews were decent. If your goal is to remove majority of the hair in a given area, at a reasonable price, then Erase is fine. I will say that 85% of the hair I had removed has stayed removed. There is, however, around 15% which was either missed or has grown back. You can't just go in for 6 sessions and expect it to last forever. I know friends who have paid a lot more for their service who have not had that issue, so it depends what your budget is and how willing you are to do a little upkeep. I am happy with what I have gotten for what I have paid. One annoying factor is that I bought a package for a large area, and I wanted to have a small and large area done. I wanted to use my package for both areas, but I was refused because it was "too confusing to check out". You'd think they'd happily take my extra money, considering I was willing to accept a lesser treatment for the same price? Update: Upon posting my original review, I promptly received a call stating they would make it right. I appreciate the prompt response, and the willingness to listen to a customer request. I purchased two packages that totaled $940... almost $1,000 and I was not able to use it.. of course i forgot about it we were literally in a pandemic during the time I'm suppose to use it!!?! I had a session with her today and honestly I had to finally give her some much due praise on Yelp. Despite having to basically lay spread eagle in front of her (due to the Brazilian part of the service) which can be a little uncomfortable for some, she never fails at making me feel completely at ease each and every time.
