What's a staycation without a little body work? So glad I booked a last minute 60 min massage at Brooklyn Net Wellness. They were quite busy on a Monday night but seemed to be good at figuring out a way to get people in. Appointments are recommended. They seem to have a lot of regulars. Although it's a no frills place, the ambience feels a little more elevated than other places I've been to at this price point. Don't expect pin drop quiet or water at the end though. They try their best to move and speak quietly but really utilize every space including the waiting area to do foot massages. The massage felt like it was deep tissue and I was all for it. It was freezing that day and I initially kept my socks on but the masseuse removed them. However, there was no foot massage included in the 60 mins for me (unsure what's standard). A lot of time was spent in the back and arms area. The masseuse put her whole elbow in it. Lordy, it hurt sooo good. She checked in an appropriate number of times which I appreciated. I was definitely sore the next day but felt like I did some releasing in the moment. The hot stone was so nice and my favorite part! I think this may be an add on at other spots so loved that this was included. By the way, there is no cash discount which was totally fine- I just saw this mentioned in some reviews and usually carry cash so went for it. Price was the same. Great value. I had an incredible couples massage experience here and couldn't be happier. I brought my mom for a massage as a Christmas gift, and it was such a wonderful treat for both of us. We booked a 90-minute couples massage, and the time truly flew by. We were each massaged by two wonderful therapists who were incredibly thorough. They worked on everything: back, arms, legs, neck, face, and feet. It felt amazing from start to finish and was exactly what we needed to fully relax. We did pay extra for the lavender add-on. While we didn't really smell much during the massage, the owner later explained that it had been used but was diluted, and encouraged us to just ask for more next time so we can fully enjoy the scent. I really appreciated that transparency and customer care. Overall, it was an excellent massage experience, and the space is located in a very cute area of Park Slope, which made it even nicer. I usually stick to male staff since I have tight upper back and prefer deep tissue massage, but their women staff are amazing and cover all the boxes, they pay attention when I tell them to focus on upper back and neck and collarbone. This is usually my go-to spot but I had two truly terrible massages back to back. The masseuse the past two times was extremely rough and caused pain, on top of that she cut the session short and skipped all the usual techniques (skipped hot stone which is included, hand and arm massage). The staff is very rude and unhelpful as well. I've been coming here for massages since I moved to Brooklyn about 8 years ago. It NEVER lets me down! I've taken several friends with me and everyone agrees for the price point, the massage is top quality. It's no frills, don't expect to get a big fancy robe or a hot tea, but they get the job done! The only thing I would change about this place, would be finding a solution for noise control particularly from the restroom. I had one great massage here and every one after has been awful. The most recent one I got today left me in so much pain. They only aggressively massaged over a towel the entire time. they didn't use oil or warm towels. I kept asking him to be gentle and he wouldn't. When I told the front staff he offered an additional 15 minutes in the chair with another person that was okay but couldn't reverse my opinion or my pain. To say the place is calm and relaxing is an understatement. I decided to treat myself after a long year of pandemic fear, frustration, and low vibe energy. Started off with a one hour reflexology massage from Michelle who swept away my anxiety with swift motions leaving my feet feeling new and excited to step into the world once again. Then I walked a few steps over to a private room where I then had an experience I can't even put into words. It was as if she knew exactly where the knots were and had no qualm in destroying them. I mean, there were times I had to hold onto The underneath of the table to keep from jumping but as much as certain strokes hurt--my shoulders knew it's what had to be done for the overall good of my wellness. There's a technique she does where she starts from the base of the lower back and squeezes everything North traveling all the way up to your finger tips where it's like she releases the anxiety, fears, doubts, and imposter syndrome from your mind, body, and spirit. I've never walked away from a massage feeling like all my cares were behind me and life was new and worth rejoining. My massage was excellent once I got one, but I had to fight to get one and to get one that wasn't making my situation worse. The first person assigned to me ignored my telling him what to avoid and was causing me spasms. Yet I had to be extremely assertive to get him to stop. The owner then came and explained that the therapist doesn't speak English. I replied that they have to at least be able to understand someone telling them to stop and where to focus their efforts. I felt like he wasn't really listening; he just kept laughing and saying 'okay, okay' and I finally just said, "You can understand English, but you're not actually listening" and he finally listened. He then brought in another therapist who was more responsive, and I had a great massage. Other things to be aware of: there are no private rooms, just little cubicles with curtains. I was repeatedly walked in on while changing, and during the massage, the owner ducked his head in and asked if it was okay. He wouldn't leave until I responded. I'm honestly surprised at the close to 5 star rating here. This is my second time here, and had bad experiences with the male masseuses. I have bruises from my recent massage. First off I requested a female therapist on the phone. When I get there, I didn't know who I had until I was already lying on the massage table and the guy asked if I'm ready yet. The male masseuse was applying some deep intense pressure to my back and it hurt me so much. I kept telling him at least 5-6 times to do it lighter and apply less pressure. He said sorry and tried to but he just didn't understand what lighter means. Rather he kept on doing different areas but the intensity was still extremely hard. I was cringing and tensing each time. He is lacking the essential skills and inability to understand and no one should ever have to go through that. Long story short as a result I have multiple bad bruises on my back. I'm writing this review as I'm lying in bed right now dealing with the physical and emotional pain of the bruises on my back. I developed bruises about 6 hours after the massage, and still in pain as I write this the morning after. It's so bad that I cannot move right now and I'm in bed the entire day. read more

At first I was like I hope this massage isn't going to be on top of a towel the whole time! Decided to go with the flow and found this towel massage to be quite relaxing - my therapist was very strong and went very deep which I actually like - at different points he asked if it was ok - at one point I did ask him to go lighter and he listened - at some point the towel was moved and I received an oil massage and even a brief hot stone massage - the whole massage was really excellent - much better than I anticipated - he even massaged my face which felt amazing - they wipe the oil off of you in what feels like a nice skin exfoliation - the 60 minute massage was awesome and their prices are reasonable - I will definitely be back - we both left feeling very relaxed and tension free! read more

My cousin who was visiting from out of town had a great experience here and recommended this place for me to try since they are so close to my house. I booked my fiancé a massage here. Scheduling the appointment was so such an easy process. They knew it was a gift and asked what part of his body was bothering him most and where they should focus. My fiancé loved it and then booked me one. Upon arrival, they spray your entire body, including the bottle of your feet with some type of sanitizer and take your temperature. I got the 45 minute back rub with hot stones and 15 minute foot rub. The massage was great. She was able to really get in deep and relieve some of the knots I had in my back. I wish she used the hot stones longer because I was freezing in that room, but it was still nice. I felt so much better as I was leaving and will most definitely be returning. read more

Since Covid I've been incredibly uncomfortable with getting a massage but after two years it was time. I called to schedule a massage for Friday at 2pm and was able to schedule quickly for a full body massage. When I arrived to my appointment everything was sparkling clean and everyone had a mask on. I confirmed my appointment with who seemed like the manager and was shown to my room. As I was getting undressed a kind woman asked if I was ready. She greeted me and made sure she had the correct time I requested which was 90 minutes. Our 90 minutes could have lasted forever! A truly amazing massage with firm pressure, oil and hot stones! She began with the towel on top of my body and then respectfully put it to the side depending on which area she was working on. Through our time she was able to release knots that had been bothering me for the past year. I slept through most of it allowing myself to fully relax and so appreciated her. After she concluded she wiped the oil from my skin so I wasn't greasy and said goodbye. Once I got dressed I went outside to pay. They only take cash but also have an ATM by the front door. I finally decided to take a chance and come back here because even before the pandemic, they were so clean! NOW, more then ever, due COVID concerns, I am glad this place is open again! Their safety protocols were more stringent than my doctor's office! When you enter, they spray your clothes and the bottom of your shoes with alcohol. Then, they take your temperature. Everything in the room looked spotless. The paper liners were white and crisp. All the employees wore masks properly (covering nose and mouth). Their strict safety procedures made me feel very comfortable. The massage was like fabulous, as always. That part is consistently perfect. The therapist released al my knots. I feel great! THANK YOU. This is simple, no frills body works place. There are about 10 similar places within a 4 block radius. What sets this place apart from all the others is the CLEANLINESS of this place. It's is really spotless, everything looks and feels clean and fresh. The rooms have real walls, not just flimsy screens or curtains. There is soft, relaxing music, which helps to drown out the noise somewhat. You can still hear the front door opening and closing and people shuffling about, but it's better with the music. Maybe a sound machine might help. This place gets 5 STARS for the clean facilities. The massage is comparable to other similar Chinese body works places. I have been here about 10 times, and I have gotten both male and female therapists. They are both good, apply there right amount is pressure when I request it, and I always leave feeling very relaxed. My one tip is if you don't like the smell of cigarettes, choose a female therapist. The male one I had smelled like he just came in from a smoke break. The massage was not very comfortable because of the strong cigarette smell all over his hands. It was still very therapeutic and he did a great job working on the knots. This was my first massage in about five months due to the COVID-19 quarantine and I was not disappointed. The location was easy to find and I found parking in 5min ( very happy about that). Once inside I was greeted immediately and quickly taken through a sanitizing process and my temperature was taken. The location is clean and serene and everyone there is very nice. My masseuse was male, which I am starting to understand is best for me given my size (ladies never seem to apply enough pressure). He did a great job at focusing on my problem areas and I felt much better afterwards. In spite of all the praise I am giving them, I was even more blown away by the cost of all of this ...which was $48 for a great 60 min massage. This massage center is the best of its kind in the entire South Brooklyn area. For $55 an hour, you get a really great body massage in a really nice, clean facility. Their interiors are all well designed and decorated to give you a sense of privacy and comfort, yet their prices rival all the others in the area. The women do such an amazing job of working out all your tense spots and are all great. I've been here three times during COVID with absolutely no issues - they're extremely sanitary. I found this place thanks to some fellow members of the Yelp Elite Squad and I am thankful for the community rec's. This place did not disappoint. I went for a couple's massage shorter after Christmas and they although other people may have been there at the time, it felt like they diligently catered to us. The space was very tranquil with the zen music playing throughout the spa and waterfall noises. I was so deep in the moment, I couldn't even tell if the water was sound coming from the speakers or if there was an actual mini fountain in the room lol. The couples massage room was also very spacious, clean, and smelled like faint essential oils. Not overpowering but enough to add to the chill vibe. My massage was great and I was even a little jealous that I opted out of a warming oil that they put on my partner instead.
