If I could give this location 6 stars I would. Just above and beyond. We moved to NYC last May and my husband got recommended by his army buddies of this location. My husband is trained in sports medicine which makes him very picky on who he chooses for massages. He came one day and said he loved it. So of course I had to try. First impression was getting offered water and snacks. 100% hooked. I just felt so well treated by this lovely gentleman. So much respect and humility in trying to make sure you get the treatment that you need by all the masseuse, who may or may not speak well English. They are some very strong ladies. You just tell him what you need. NYC granted us a baby and luckily Lavender was able to take care of me during ALL my pregnancy. I'm a full time nurse and I could have not made it, nor my husband, those 9 months without them. Now I am continuing with my postpartum massages. Not sure who needs them more dad or me. I can't believe I never wrote a review for this place yet! My husband found this place and I'm sure glad he did! Michael is the most hospitable and kind man who aims to please. Though it was after the height of the pandemic, Michael still made sure to show the lengths they go to to keep things clean and sanitary and still does! He shows you the layers of protection for your face and makes sure to reiterate your concerns to your masseuse after writing them down/taking notes prior to heading in. You are given a bottle of water and there are cookies and fruit for you to enjoy while you wait. There is now a foot massage section just before the massage rooms where you can just get that done. They are also very good at showing you the time and making sure you get the full amount. My first time there with my husband, my masseuse started and shortly after left and came back and left again. It seems I got another masseuse and they made sure to reset my time back to the full time. The massage itself was also good! I had a few different ladies each time I went and it was comfortable and relaxing. The only issue happens sometimes when other patrons come in and forget where they are and starts talking loud and like they're in their own soundproof room... Wow! Amazing experience from the first phone call I made to book the appointments. I took my two daughters there for a little relaxing Sunday afternoon birthday massage. Michael, who answered the phone asked me if I was celebrating a birthday, and I didn't think anything of it at the time. Upon arrival we were offered many treats (fruits, traditional Asian snacks, and the option for water, cold or warm). Much to my surprise, and my daughter who was celebrating her birthday, we walked into a room that was completely decorated (balloons included). Came here and was welcomed by Michael (owner). The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. Michael sat us down on waiting area, plus that there are snacks available. He also gave us water, hot tea available if you ask. They also have a timer so that you are getting exactly the time you asked. I thought that was a wonderful addition. My masseuse (Jeff) was great. I got a foot massage and I walked out feeling light as a feather. I have plantar fasciitis and my feet usually hurts, but not after this great massage. Will definitely be back. How have I not been here previously.... This was quite literally the best massage I've ever had! I've been getting massages for about 20 years since I've started working. Typically I get them in Manhattan (because that's where I work). I have had a bunch in Brooklyn too though because that's where I live. Hands down, Lavendar beat all of the other experiences I've had. First off, Michael greeted us when we walked in and he is such a welcoming, kind person. He says "I want you to feel like you're at home." And he means it. Hands you some poland springs and tells you to take fruit and snacks as you wait. He comes over with a pencil and pad then asks you what parts of your body are hurting and where you want them to focus. Also asks you what kind of pressure you want. He relays all this info to your masseuse. I did a 90 minute massage with Nancy and she was spectacular. Ahe confirmed that I wanted a hard massage. Then asked me mid way if the pressure is good or if I want a change. Literally, nothingness could say other than it was perfect. My wife had Nina and she said she was absolutely fantastic too. Wished Michael was at every massage spot I go to. Michael is very hospitable, he would ask our pressure preference. Offers snacks, fruits, water etc. However the actual masseuses are not that good. They gossip, laugh and make irrelevant comments when it's supposed to be peaceful and quiet. Next room, someone was snoring incredibly loudly. My masseuse was just laughing at the snoring sounds. They never do as what I had communicated to Michael. I had higher expectations. They hit the wrong spots with the wrong pressure. Michael says, speak up if the pressure is off but i really I feel like I can't communicate with them. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad for a Brooklyn massage spot with decent prices. I went to Lavender for the first time today and everything was wonderful. Michael was so pleasant on the phone when I booked the appointment, and when I arrived a woman greeted me, gave me a water and offered snacks. That same woman walked me into the massage room, asked about what kind of pressure I like, whether the masseuse should focus on certain spots, the scent of the room, and confirmed the amount of time for the massage. The masseuse was great! At first, it was a little too strong for me, but when I asked her to be a little softer, she quickly adjusted. I'm not sure what her name was, but she was extremely thorough and really made the most of the hour! I'm very impressed. I interacted with Michael at the counter after the massage, and he is even more pleasant and welcoming in person. He thanks every customer by name. I felt the whole staff was very attentive and kind. Found this via yelp , and I'm so happy this place is nearby me ! How have I missed this gem ! It's been months since I've had a massage and they did wonders for us . Mike is very welcoming and checks your temp upon entry as well as his . I really appreciate the safety precautions he has been taking and he even checks the temperatures of the masseuse before you start . The waiting area is cute , and he offers tea, water and a variety of fruits , very cute and zen.
