Great little spa in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. It is super convenient to get to, as it is located right next to the F/G train (Bergen Street stop). I came here in the middle of the week and did not make an appointment prior to coming. The lady at the front desk was super nice and was able to accommodate me right away. I ended up doing a 45 min foot massage. This was probably the best foot massage I've ever had in my life. What made the experience even better was the calming music playing in the background. Everyone there, including myself was super relaxed and you can tell others were enjoying their experience as well. Bed bugs! I go here regularly. Everyone is very polite and good at what they do , however after my last visit, I returned from your spa and felt a sharp sting on my thigh. I had been bitten by bed bugs. Things like this can happen but it's inexcusable since you don't wash the towels or blankets. You use the dry ones over and over again and your staff does not wash their hands between clients. I'm disgusted and will call 311. I suggest u get ur business fumigated and develop a more sanitary system. I really liked this place but this is just terrible and could have been avoided with better sanitary conditions. read more

My friends and I found our way back to this spa for a Zen Frenz Weekend and birthday celebration for our gf. We made appointments and made sure we were on time, this time, so that we didn't miss out on our massage time. Parking was great today and I scored a spot right across the street. When we arrived, we were led to two doubles rooms. There were four of us so it worked out. My masseur was Andy and he was wonderful. I could tell that he felt my knots and was trying his best to work them out. I have a few that are stubborn and there is no amount of kneading that will loosen them up but he gave it the old college try and spent ample time trying to make them disappear. I appreciated the attention to the tightness. He used just enough pressure where it wasn't too light but not too deep. It was great. There was a miscommunication and our masseurs were under the impression that two of us (me and my friend) we were getting 90 minute massages. We were only supposed to have 60 minutes so they had to stop short. Had our friends not been waiting, and our brunch plans still approaching, I would have insisted on finishing the full massage. It was unfortunate because we only had one side done, one leg and not turned over. I was super stuffy as a result, and it took some time to acclimate after getting dressed. What we did experience was great. It was just getting cut short that sucked. The other girls in our group had a better experience, as their masseurs provided them with a full experience with their 60 minute massages. They were relaxed and waiting out front for us. My cousin comes here regularly and enjoys her after work massages. Our friend lives in the area and also has regular visits during the week. Today was a complete 180 from our last visit, save for the minor timing mistake. Knowing that my cousin lives right around th corner on, I might find myself here again and I'll just make sure to confirm with everyone what I'm getting before we actually begin so that there aren't any issues. read more

I'm a teacher who works in the neighborhood, and after work, I decided to walk in and inquire if they had any availability. Upon walking in, I was not greeted by the woman sitting at the front desk, which I thought was very odd. I ignored her rude disposition and proceeded to ask her if they had a brochure. She looked confused and immediately said no, in a very unprofessional manner. I thought maybe it was a language barrier and restated my question; however, I received back the same unprofessional rolling eyes and the feeling of not being wanted. walked out feeling disappointed, uninformed about their services, and most of all, unwelcome. I have never been as massively coated in oil as I did at Bergen Spa. The paper when i got up from the table was soaked in oil. As soon as i got home i needed to take a shower. The massage included rapid and hard up and down hot stone rubbing on my back that was not pleasant. He did find some tight spots but missed many others. I've been going almost weekly for the last three months and am so glad to have an affordable and effective way to treat pregnancy back pain. The staff does an excellent job of finding problem areas and kneading out the knots. Each experience is both consistent and custom; I know about how much time will be spent in each area but it seems technique varies slightly based on where I'm carrying tension that week. I highly recommend for all the pregnant folks struggling with back pain in the neighborhood! I went to the desk to make payment and I noticed that the massage therapist was standing directly in front of the entrance as if she was blocking the door. She was blocking the door but facing me. After payment, I went to use the bathroom and as I returned to exit, the massage therapist was no longer in front of the door. If you're like me and tired of asking your significant other to rub your feet every few days then you need to heard to Bergen Spa. It is Swamy's my go to for a self care Sunday. I always go here to get an hour foot massage. You can set an appointment over the phone but I always come at a time when it's slow and they always take care of me. It doesn't matter who I get that day, I always get the best foot massages, sometimes I even fall asleep. They play tranquil music, have chairs that recline back, use warm towels to wipe your feet down and give great massages. I think it's affordable at $42 dollars so I always budget to go at least twice a month. I've never gotten a back rub from there before today but it actually was pretty good and made me feel super relaxed. The only thing I wish is that the reception away was a little further away from the massage area because while you are relaxing is can be hard when you're hearing the phone ring or people coming in and out of the store to make appointments. This was the best $45 i've spent in a long time! i randomly walked into the spot on a warm day and was immediately attended to. Sarroeul the massage therapist did a deep tissue massage which worked out all my kinks. While i wasn't asked what kind of pressure i preferred, i'm a pretty easygoing person so the oversight wasn't a big deal. There were moments, however, where it was painful, but i bore it because i knew i'd feel good in the end, and i was right. Plus she added some hot stone at end which was a nice touch! This place is by no means a full-service spa with bathrobes and slippers, but it is a clean and relaxing place to get a good rub-down. I think the massage experience was worth a 5-star rating... but I'm taking 2 stars off because they rejected the Yelp deal (screenshot attached) during payment, although they promised it when I scheduled the appointment over the phone. I was leaning towards a 30 min session, but I saw the deal on their Yelp page and decided to go for it. I confirmed its validity over the phone, and showed up expecting a 70 min session (or a 60 min session with a coupon for another 10 min session, idk). However, while paying after the 60 min session ended, I asked about the deal again, and the receptionist claimed she "had no idea" what it was, even though I showed her the deal on my phone's Yelp app. I'm perfectly content paying the price I paid for the session I received, but I'm a little peeved that I decided on a longer session for a deal that they promised and didn't follow through on. read more

We opted for a one hour full body massage and were taken to the rooms. The massage started off great with a relaxing back rub, spinal massage and arms. However, it loses one star due to not hitting all the expected areas. I expected to have my lower leg calf area and feet massaged however my legs were massaged for only a few minutes with my feet not touched at all. What did I do after a long day at work in order to have a more peaceful, serene and stress-free evening? One thing was to definitely have a delicious dinner (as we Yelpers like to do often). But before going to get some great food, I decided that the best idea at that moment was to indulge in some pamper-me-time at Bergen Spa. Bergen Spa immediately drew me in with their current special which includes a 30 minute Foot Massage and 30 minute Back Massage for $45. When I walked in the staff were attentive and welcoming. The establishment is clean, neat and organized with beautifully decorated, mint scented bathrooms. Nice music plays in the background. The place also has plush and comfortable reclining chairs. Yoyo gave me the best foot massage ever. She also provided a fantastic back massage, helping to get rid of the tension in my muscles. I thanked her profusely through the hour and generously tipped her for doing such an extraordinary job.
