After my family member completed the form, she was taken to the back by a pleasant woman. I asked what time I should come back to pick up my family member and she was ready at the time they told me she would be. This time I did the Ultimate Package with included a massage, facial, foot and hand massage with paraffin ending with a champagne lunch. Everything was great! I felt so pampered and relaxed. I booked a reservation at Cynergy Spa about 2 months ago for the couple's package for our anniversary. We get to our appointment and after 10 minutes of waiting one of the employee's let's us know that they made a mistake and part of our package, which was 20 minutes in the jacuzzi would not take place because he mixed us up with another couple that happened to have the same name. He said we could still have the couple's massage but that is not what I paid for and it was a special day for me and my fiance. I was pissed and said I needed a few minutes to process and discuss with my partner. I found it odd that our spot was given to another couple and he could not accommodate us in any way for the day because they were booked. If our spot was given to another couple already booked and for the same package, why would we not be able to take their slot. In my opinion, it seems that somehow we or another couple were just double booked for the same time. After discussing with my fiance, we decided to cancel because we really wanted the full package that we paid for done. I was highly upset as we had come from far away, this was also our first time at Cynergy and we couldn't even be accommodated for the same day due to their error. I would not give them a second chance since this ruined our anniversary celebration and we had come from so far. Please, don't be fooled by this nor the gilded 90s decor featuring candelabras and brown taffeta. It's a farce. These amenities aim to distract customers from the truly abysmal quality of massage treatments & service, which are overpriced and honestly worth 10% what Cynergy is charging. Save yourself from INTENSE buyer's remorse -- and go literally anywhere else for your massage. (You deserve it!) Long version - My partner and I treated ourselves to the couples special which at $400 was a true indulgence for our anniversary. I have received greater than 100 massages in my life (car accident = lifelong back problems), so I'm an aficionado and know my stuff. Unfortunately, every step of the process here - from admin to massage to amenities - was not living up to the exorbitant $$$ price point. 1) Our appointment began 45 min late. Since we arrived 15 min early as instructed, this meant **we had to wait 60 min for this $400 service.** - No additional service or perks were offered as apology. If anything, we were rushed even more through each step. 2) After waiting an hour, we were rushed through the jacuzzi soak portion of the treatment and cheated of time. The jacuzzi water was set to scalding hot to start, and we were cut off by associates knocking down the door at the 19 min mark. We were promised 25 min. You may expect 5 extra min when just waited 60. 3) We had to move to a cold dungeon room for our massage. Despite the fact there were clearly massage tables in the jacuzzi room - for some reason, we were told we had to move rooms for the massage. This second room was AWFUL - dark and dungeon like, freezing cold air coming from an extremely loud vent. Vibes most akin to an airplane hanger. (A Chinese acupressure place with sheet walls has better ambiance, I promise you.) 4) The piece de resistance -- the worst 'massage' I have ever had in 10+ years of receiving massage therapy. Here is the timeline: -First minute of massage: The therapist asked my problem area. I said my neck, she snorted: "Hah, well, you should probably have gotten your hair off your head then." and pulls my ponytail back with force. Yep. -Minutes #2-5 My partner had a therapist with long nails **claw into her injured hand multiple times**. Clearly therapists here are not even reading intake forms = On the intake form, my partner asked to not be touched on her hands due to nerve-related chronic injuries. (PS my partner then had to ask again in person 3 times to get this message across). -Minutes #5-55 The worst buyer's remorse I have ever experienced. ($400 worth of remorse, if you're counting!) - My massage therapist gave some sort of treatment that could in NO WAY be labelled a Swedish massage. Therapist did not even basically try to align my spine. This is not massage nor bodywork, it's a lazy oil rub featuring chocolate. - The room was freezing cold, the vent was so loud it was difficult to hear therapists and vice versa... Maybe that's why therapist ignored my partner's request not to claw into her with long nails? 5) Afterwards, we were given chocolate and strawberries. How can they mess that up, right? - No one warned us there was a live candle under the chocolate. After about 15 min, chocolate got so flaming hot that it **burned my partner's lip.** We literally walked out of there scratched, burned, and cheated out of $400. NOTE: I tried my best to share all this feedback live with the owner, right after the treatment. I didn't want to write this all out, I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt - was it a bad day? over-scheduled? did someone call out sick? - and let the management respond. The owner took my money, smiled and said 'Oh, that's too bad. Have a good day.' = Zero accountability. DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS SPA. read more

I told the guy - I think he said his name was Jack, the front desk receptionist, that I wasn't sure yet but I was pretty sure I'd book it so I asked him if he could hold the spot for me. He says that he'll put my information down and takes my name, number, and info. Because he does this, I assume I'm in the system or that I'd notified if something changes. I called back today to confirm the reservation. I recognize his voice immediately upon his answering and give him my info. He tells me that he can't find my name in the system. Then he pretends to have no idea why he can't find it. First of all, you'd have to be pretty dumb to forget I made this call just four days prior so it was annoying that he wasted my time pretending he had no idea why my name wasn't in the system and searching for it for five minutes. Then he goes on to ask if I had put down a deposit. Of course I didn't because I hadn't known that I was supposed to. So obviously he's all booked for the weekend and doesn't take responsibility for what he did. I'm pretty furious that he'd book over my appointment with no text message or anything notifying me because I really was going to show up tomorrow. And Jack, you are truly LUCKY that I called to confirm because if I had shown up there in person and found this out, you would not be happy. This was supposed to be a surprise for my boyfriend and my two year anniversary so thanks for ruining it. The lack of communication and tact from this spa is beyond me. I would not come here and definitely WOULD NOT recommend any of my friends to come here either. I would have gone to Bergen street spa and paid literally a 5th of the price for just as good a massage. Upon entering, we sat in a waiting room and we were seen 20 minutes late, even though I had actually called and tried to push back the appointment 15-30 minutes and was told they could not accommodate. My massage was only 45 minutes despite paying for a full hour. I then paid $150 for a simple 30 minute facial, only to learn the 1 hour full facial was just $165. She helped me to relax -I have tightness in a shoulder due to stress-and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. She was very attentive and asked me how I felt during the massage. Besides the massage, heat was applied in various parts of my body enhancing the great feeling caused by the massage. The spa requires masks, which reassures me, and it is very welcoming and warm. I called on a Friday hoping I can book a massage and facial for my bday (4.23.22). I was told they were fully back. I called back on 4.23 and there was a cancellation!! I was able to get my massage and they were able to squeeze in a facial. I had some concerns because I had lower back pain due to injury. Usually, I request a female massage therapist however due to last-minute scheduling Sion was my massage therapist. This is the first time I ever had a male masseuse. My boyfriend booked the couples package for us to enjoy. We came here yesterday for our spa day. The place itself is small but very clean and well presented. We were lead into our room which was set up with relaxing music dim lighting bathrobes, and a nice warm bubble bath in a spacious jacuzzi. We bathed for 25 minutes and then were given a 55 minute massage. I have never been so relaxed like I was while receiving my massage. It was phenomenal n I felt brand new afterwards. We were given a glass of champagne to enjoy afterwards. Really loved the experience. The receptionist wasn't really welcoming was the only negative point but everything else was great. I was gifted a prenatal massage here about a week before I went into labor I delivered my daughter August 23 about 3 weeks ago. It took me so long to write this review because I couldn't remember the lady's name who did my massage. I'm just gonna blame it on pregnancy brain, but her name is Terry. She was amazing! She really took her time with me and we had small conversation about my upcoming due date and she gave me a bit of advice about relaxing. My massage was excellent. I went into Cynergy spa having read reviews prior to coming. Ironically all the good reviews were about Terry and her service and I was blessed to get her for my prenatal massage. The place is beautiful the staff were friendly and welcoming. As a pregnant woman scent was important to me at the time the place smelled amazing . A plus is above them upstairs there's a woman that does acupuncture I returned within that week and did labor inducing acupuncture with a woman upstairs from them. Both businesses are black owned. Was looking to do something different for my boyfriend's Xmas gift and so I researched couple's massage packages in the area, and Cynergy came up every time. The service was phenomenal from when I called to book, right down to when I was leaving the spa. When I called, I asked a ton of questions and the person on the other line did an amazing job of answering all of my questions and describing their services. The spa is located on a side street off of Fulton Street and looks like a little brownstone home. Inside, the decor and smells were amazing and the receptionist who greeted us was very friendly. When it was time for us to start, we were led to a dimly lit room with 2 massage tables, a jacuzzi, and a shower. The ambiance of the room was very intimate and the look on my bf's face was priceless. We spent about 20-25 minutes lounging in the warm jacuzzi before it was massage time. There was a male and a female masseuse and although they didn't ask if we had a preference, the male came to me and the woman went to my bf. I had Marcus and he asked about any areas I wanted him to focus on and I am so glad because he really went to work on my shoulders and neck which is where I carry my stress. I saw other reviews say that the massages weren't firm enough but mine was perfect. Very firm in my trouble areas, and appropriately firm in others. The massage started with my back and shoulders and then arms and then legs. They also get some of your cheeks (not on your face, if you catch my drift) which completely took me off guard, but maybe this is the norm. Overall, I have never felt so relaxed in my life, and halfway through I heard my boyfriend snoring so I know the woman was also doing an amazing job. After, we were led to a room with strawberries and a chocolate fondue, as well as a glass of champagne.
