On my first few visits, they provided 2 towels and a robe; then they switched to no robe but 3 towels; and then only 2 towels and no robe! I've seen people rally and ask for a robe and/or more towels, but imo people shouldn't have to ask: a robe and at least 2 towels should be the default. There's also a cafe upstairs, but it is often closed without notice. When it is open, the service is usually very slow, and sometimes they get the order wrong. They also sometimes invent new ways to be a cafe (there was a short-lived experiment where they had people place orders downstairs, and then wander upstairs whenever they suspected their order may be ready), but it doesn't need to be complicated--just have a person at the cafe to take orders and then fulfill those orders. With that said, the amenities (saunas, pools, etc.) are great and incredibly restorative, as are the services (scrubs, massages, etc.), and employees and customers alike have always been nice. I'm very glad Brooklyn Bathhouse is in the neighborhood; my only other recommendation would be getting rid of the two hour notice requirement to book a day pass, because then I would pop by even more!

Unfortunately, I left feeling completely disappointed and more stressed than relaxed. I went on a Monday morning hoping to avoid crowds and have a peaceful day. Things started off on the wrong foot almost immediately. While I was simply checking the size of the uniform, holding it up to see if there was a difference in the width, an employee came over and snatched the second pair out of my hand as if I was trying to take something I shouldn't have. It was not a great way to start when I had barely gotten in the door. Next, the layout was also really confusing. The spa is spread across multiple floors with different sections and stairways, but no one explained where anything was or how to navigate the space. I spent a lot of time in the morning trying to figure out where I was and it felt like I was nosing around someone else's house: uncomfortable. The biggest issue, though, was communication. A woman in the locker room offered my niece and me a deal for two massages for $140 ($70 each) and asked me to send the money through Zelle. I sent $170, including what I thought was a generous tip of over 20%. She arranged the appointment, but I didn't confirm what type of massage I wanted. I foolishly assumed they would ask before starting. We had lunch beforehand - the food was delicious and the portion was huge. Unfortunately, they don't offer to-go boxes, so I needed to reschedule our massages in order to finish my meal. Before even finishing my meal, I went to the massage counter to see if we reschedule our appointments. A younger patron helped translate at the massage desk, but she needed my time slot and took it for herself. She told me the woman would help me reschedule and then left. When I tried to figure out my new time, the interaction felt rushed and dismissive. I was given time without being asked if it worked for me, and when I asked about other options, I was told there were none. I would have cancelled but had already paid, so I took the L. When it was finally time for the massage, we were taken back without anyone asking what type of massage we wanted. I realized my mistake because it was a much more intense massage style and is not my preference. At that point though, after so many rushed and uncomfortable interactions, I honestly didn't feel comfortable advocating for myself to tell them I wanted reflexology. The final issue happened while I was changing before leaving. The same woman who arranged the massage came over and told me I hadn't paid enough tip. I was confused because... it was a tip. She told me I owed another $20 and (to add insult to injury) that I couldn't get my license back from the front desk until I paid. That brought the tip to over 35% on a service I didn't choose and didn't enjoy. I came to King Spa looking for rest and relaxation, but instead left feeling like I had spent my hard-earned money somewhere that never quite felt comfortable and certainly not welcomed.

There's not a ton of shade and not every daybed comes with an umbrella, so definitely be prepared with sun protection. The snack & drink selection is awesome. Plenty of delicious and reasonably priced snacks, natural wines and NA beverages. Love the water stations throughout-bring your water bottle! The baths were hopping but I didn't have any trouble finding a spot in the pools or saunas. Definitely check out the Aufguss and cold plunge-such a cool experience! The pools aren't as varied as Aire but the salt water pool was the only one I really missed. It would be very helpful if the pools and saunas had some signs or descriptions. The ladies locker room was hectic but well-equipped. All and all a great experience and I hope to visit again soon.

I had been to Bathhouse once before as a gift and had a fine time, so I decided to book a deck chair by the pool on my own dime and try it again. Big mistake. Huge. There was a long line to check in. My self check-in kept bringing up an error, so I had to wait to speak to someone. I show my confirmation email and the front desk person tells me "someone else must have booked the same bed and the exact same time, so you don't actually have a reservation" why do I have a confirmation email/number then, but okay. I can make you a new reservation now. Great! That will be $179. Uh, that is way more expensive than when I booked. Yes, we have dynamic pricing. Okay well, I'm not going to pay a premium because of a digital error. She doesn't have the authority to change the price but I can pay the new price and she'll refund the difference. Okay great fine, I just want to sit by the pool I say. After a few more error messages (the whole check on process took over 30 min), I get a QR code, check in, no further instructions from anyone, about where to go, how the lockers work, where the towels are. As I'm figuring this stuff out, many other people are on the same mystery quest. The guests are helping each other out, as there are no attendants to give guidance. I get in line to get on the elevator to the pool, more lining up like wet cattle. When we make it upstairs they break everyone in to two lines, day passes (I didn't know this was an option to access the roof) and day bed reservations. We wait 20 minutes and the day pass line is released to go wherever they like. Huh? Two women skip the line and walk to the podium, cutting in front of everyone. The host turns to the line and says I'm going to help these ladies first and people behind me pipe up Uh no, why? We have been waiting. He says Well you can figure it out amongst yourselves. This seems to be a theme with Bathhouse, figure it out yourself. Eventually the line cutting women go join the line, thanks to the people who'd been waiting. I finally give my name and I'm pointed to a bed in a dark corner by the elevator, not even in sight of the pool. No thanks, I said. I'm here to sit by the pool, I can't even see it over here. I was second in line, all the beds by the pool are open, surely I can move over. Nope, these beds were reserved earlier than you, so they aren't available. The hosts were snippy, unhelpful, honestly felt like they just wanted to argue. Maybe my original reservation would have garnered me seat anywhere near the pool, but I was unwilling to do any more advocating for myself to enjoy this expensive experience. Okay great, I'd just like to leave. Okay she says and stares at me. I would like to get a refund and leave, I clarify. I paid to sit in the sun by a pool and thats not possible, so I'll take off. We don't offer same day cancellations she says. SAME DAY CANCELLATIONS?! I just want what I booked, or to leave, this should be so simple. We look at each other for a good minute. She sighs and taps on her tablet. "You no longer have a reservation or a day pass so you need to exit now.". Great. My pleasure. I get BACK IN LINE TO GET DOWNSTAIRS as there are about 25 people leaving from the morning reservations. I gtfo of there and waste a beta blocker I'm so annoyed. Long story short, what an incompetent place. What a frustrating sunny Saturday afternoon. I work in hospitality and not once did any of the staff make an effort to be helpful or accommodating. And I will wait in a line, I will pay a premium for convenience, I am Canadian as heck, I will wait and be polite you just have to make a teeny tiny bit of effort. Do not waste your money here.

Not once NOT A SINGLE TIME did anyone bother to explain that purchasing certain treatments already allows guests to spend additional time at the spa without necessarily needing to purchase a separate $90 day pass. I only recently found out that I could have been enjoying the treatments I love, spending time at the spa afterward, and even extending my visit by dining there, without repeatedly paying for a full day pass. How many hundreds of dollars have I unnecessarily spent simply because your staff couldn't be bothered to explain your own policies?This is absolutely unacceptable, especially for a business that markets itself as a luxury wellness destination. The only reason I kept coming back was because I genuinely enjoyed the treatments. Certainly not because of the service.What bothers me most is that your staff had multiple opportunities to explain this to me, especially when they were personally selling me these packages over the phone. Went here because they had a really great Groupon deal ($70 for $100 worth of services), so babe and I thought this was a good time for us to both go get hammered and not break the bank. As soon as we walked in, we noticed the clean, serene and inviting layout. Sold!! I told them I wanted to do a gel manicure with a pedicure, and he wanted a pedicure only. They told me they had a special on what I wanted with a green tea pedicure so I you excited, only to find out tight before my technician was about to put the works in that the special was only for the regular pedicure. I was annoyed because to staff members communicated different information to me so they need to be clear on their policies. They still get a 4 star rating because the woman who worked on my nails, Victoria, did a fantastic job. My "Christmas" nails have lasted me 3 weeks! She was very thorough and skilled. The place is very clean and all of the staff are nice and very accommodating!! I've only gotten my eyebrows waxed here once, but they took their time and I have very sensitive skin and their products didn't cause any irritation! I highly recommend Yu Nails!

Katherine was precise, careful, and made sure my nails came out perfectly. Application smooth, no lumps, shaped oval with a little point, chef's kiss! Highly recommend. One note- because it was so careful, nails took about an hour and 45 mins, and pedi (regular gel) took an hour. Plan your time accordingly!
