This was the best nail salon experience I've ever had. I felt well taken care of without being rushed. Everything was so clean and I love the interior design. Very calming and great service!

The two stars are for bad business. I've come to this Bedford spot a few times in the past few years. I'm a loyalist to the St. John's street shop. Today I got a pedicure and manicure today with Shelley. She was great. I didn't want polish, so I asked her to buff my nails, instead. She did a great job with that. When I got the bill, it turns out that buff cost me an additional $10. Shelley never mentioned it to me. It was also not in the menu. I told the manager, and she shrugged me off. I paid my bill and didn't tip. I would have happily tipped Shelley, but charging me for something that you didn't name and that isn't laid out in the menu is not the way.

Honestly, they don't disappoint. Clean, peaceful and consistent. I get gel mani's and regular pedis. I call a few hours before I show up to make sure I can get an appointment. No complaints. They wear face shields and masks for the pedi, and there is a glass up for the mani. They have you sign a waiver and they take your temp upon arrival. They help you to pick a color. Since the pandemic, it's not nearly as packed or crowded as usual. They only take a few clients at a time.

Newcomer to the neighborhood, Element has quickly established itself as one of the better nail salons in the area. The space with its wooden panels, plethora of candles and warm vibes is calming and earthy. The ladies here are detail oriented, nice and good at what they do. Facilities seem quite new and clean. Good selection of colors. Most recently had the spa pedi ($27) with the heel treatment add-on ($8)- totally worth it. The technician did a nice job accommodating my requests. She spent a good amount of time applying the heel treatment and scrubbing down my achy feet. She also gave my feet and legs a good (albeit short) scrub and massage. Did not feel rushed at all. Note: tips must be in cash (ATM inside for your convenience).

i'm giving this review 1 star because the service was good and the business was clean, however the actual product i received for the piece i paid is incredibly underwhelming. initially i was going to go with 2 but i really don't like the shape of my nails (i kept asking for more pointed/sharp) and i wanted the white line of my nails covered and they are not. look at my nails peeling within 10 days of getting my manicure. AND I PUT A CLEAR COAT OVER THEM MYSELF within a week of getting them done to make them stay as fresh as possible. they started peeling after 6 days. why. i'm really disappointed. after tip, i paid close to $100 for this manicure and am so sad that it's peeling so badly. i've had manicures that lasted weeks when i was rock climbing and was surprised that those nails only got scratched but never peeled. i seldom get manicures because i'm so active that i feel like it's pointless, but i've taken a step back from my normal activities and thought i'd treat myself. i am sitting at my desk on my computer doing work and this is what they look like!! not coming back.

First gel manicure post quarantine! So good to be back.

I moved to the area two years ago, and at the time was not big into routine manicure/pedicures. Then I discovered Element Beauty and was so satisfied with their services that even after moving out of the area a few months ago, I still make the trek from Astoria back into BedStuy to visit my favorite ladies. The business has always been very clean and efficiently run. Now with COVID, they have acrylic dividers between you and your nail artist, they scan your forehead for temperature, have sanitizer everywhere and you must use it upon entering. You will also sign a form prior to receiving any service. They used to serve fresh flavored water or tea, but longer do this, assuming due to COVID. It's also strongly recommended that you make an appointment since they are unable to service as many clients as before so the spots fill up the quickly. All employees wear masks, and some wear gloves and/or face shields. The women who work here are quiet, but some of the kindest ladies I've ever had the pleasure of meeting in this industry. They will offer service suggestions if asked. I know there are a handful of not so great reviews on here, but I've never had a single bad experience in the many times I've been to this establishment. I will say that the pricing does confuse me a bit. I wish their website had a service/price list available. I normally get a gel manicure and it's normally $40 or so. All in all, I obviously recommend this place to anyone in the area. I hope they stay in business because I would be very sad to see them go.

I really like this place. It's clean and you pay for what you get. I never walk away hating my nails. Maria comes in on Saturdays and she is so good. She's patient yet precise. The 4 stars comes from my most recent visit. I went on a Tuesday night with an hour left until closing and while the technician was starting to scrub my feet with the paddle, she cut me! At first I honestly thought that my feet were just dry and ashy (out here trying to start a fire) but then I get home and I have a pretty visible cut. She also cut a little too deep into the side of my toenails. The woman working on my fingernails was very attentive and precise. I still walked out with my nails looking amazing but I guess I could have done without the battle wound. The place is still my go to for nails.

Index, ring, pink were cuticles were cut :/ & misshapen from visit. I removed paint from index.

How much is it to do a regular (buff, shine, no nail color) mani and pedi?

$45. $30 basic pedicure, $15 basic manicure. I don't believe they charge less for no polish.

Do they offer dip/powder for nails?

No they do not. I wish they did!

    Cash tip only?

You don't have to. Card or cash is fine.

This place came highly recommended, but when we showed up, their systems were completely down. No one called us beforehand because they had no access to their system. To their credit, the front desk team was kind and allowed us free access to the spa facilities for two hours to check out the saunas, steam room, and snow room. We made the best of it and had a good time bopping around. However, their customer service recovery is nonexistent. It has been over a week since that visit and they are still holding onto my $700. Every time I call, I am routed to a call center agent who doesn't understand the situation and has no power to help me. Two emails to their billing center have gone completely unanswered. Keeping a customer's money for services you couldn't render due to your own tech failure is unacceptable. Since nobody there seems to know how to run the business or process a refund manually, I am moving forward with a bank dispute to reclaim my money. If you go here, pray their system doesn't crash, because you will never see your money again. UPDATE: Unbelievable. After blasting them on here, a manager named Claudia called me. But instead of taking responsibility, she tried to gaslit me by claiming I was being "combative" because I am frustrated. Let's get the facts straight: your business took my $700, failed to provide the services, ghosted me for a week, and now I'm the combative one for wanting my money back? She literally called me to play reindeer games, asking me to explain "what happened when I arrived." Girl, get out of here with that. You work there, you know your own systems were down. It is completely crazy to interrogate a customer about a tech failure your own business suffered. When I refused to let her talk over me or railroad the call, she tried to act like she was the one refusing to have a "combative conversation." It's pathetic corporate deflection. She finally said she would process the refund today because I wouldn't back down, but dealing with this level of unprofessionalism just to get a refund for services never rendered is ridiculous. Management here is trash.

We intentionally planned so that this will be last so that we can take the day to relax and rest our body to go back home to our daily lives after busy day in NYC. We did some research and made sure to come on weekday earlier in the morning so that it's not too congested. We got there at 10:00am on Monday morning as which was perfect time. They have valet parking but it cost additional money so we just used their free parking lot which is located a block away from the main building on the same side. Once we got there we checked in and were guided through with instruction on what to expect and rules. Once you check in your bag gets checked. Be aware that you cannot bring any outside food or drink. You can bring empty water bottle/container which is highly recommended. After the bag check you take your shoes off and drop them off at the shoe locker which is guided by the staff. After that you enter the inner zone. It's recommended to start at floor 4 so that you can go to the main locker to drop off your other luggage and change into swimwear if not already. It's also recommended to take a quick shower before going into the pools and baths which you may want to do once you go to the bathroom. Once you are settled you can put your robe and go on your way to the amenities. We started our experience on the 4th floor at the outdoor bath. Started on foot bath with stones, silk bath, carbon bath, and hinoki bath which were nice and relaxing. We then went to Dry sauna and ganbanyoku which is hot stone sauna. Hot stone sauce had few different type of stone you can lay on so we decided to try all of them. Once we were done we went into the cold bath with waterfall to cool ourselves and went to try the bath with water jets/hydrotherapy. There were few different types that target your back, neck, foot, ...etc. we basically tried them all. They feel pretty nice and some are pretty strong almost like S massage. Once we were done with 4th floor we registered for volcanic sand bath which is an extra charge $20 experience per person. We scheduled a time and went up to 6th floor for our session. Once they are ready they go over some information and precautions and get you changed to yukata. They do recommend to go naked under for full experience and i do recommend it as well. Once you are ready the staff will take you to a spot and have you lay down and start to cover you in volcanic sand from Japan. Once you are covered you lay there and enjoy the experience. It's like you are laying in the sand at the beach that are hot and heavy. Its feels very nice and relaxing. They will leave you about 10 minutes and will give you some cold towel on your head which feels great. You will start to feel some sweat dripping from your body and your face. Once it's about 15minutes the staff will come and direct you to get up and give you some water to hydrate. They will make sure you feel ok before directing you to go to the shower to wash yourself up before changing back to your Swimsuit. It's a good idea to go full naked under because sand will get under everywhere and you can clean them off during the shower. Once you are cleaned up we took a quick break and had lunch at the food court which is directly next to the volcanic sand bath on 6th floor. We got bulgogi with rice and fries to share which was ok. Bit expensive but to be expected with facility of this kind. Once we were done eating we went down to 5th floor to enjoy the saunas. We tried pretty much all of the saunas including salt, charcoal, red brick, infrared, stone, and clay. We took a quick break in ice room and once we finished the sauna we took a quick break at the relaxation area and lay down for a bit. Once we were relaxed we went up to the 7th floor and enjoyed the infinity pool. You can see the skyline of NYC across the hudson river. Took some photos of the gorgeous view. We lay down for a bit to relax and went back down to finish the day with foot bath as we were cold coming out of the pool. We went back to the 4th floor to change and check out. Got our shoes and walked back to the parking lot yo head out. Overall i liked the experience that was offered at sojo spa club. I can see that our experience may have been different if it was on weekends and or if the weather was not good but we planned well and was also lucky with the weather so we were able to enjoy the facility to its full extent and i liked it. Service was good and a lot of the process was stream lined so that our time waiting was minimized. Would come back again.
