This was the best nail salon experience I've ever had. I felt well taken care of without being rushed. Everything was so clean and I love the interior design. Very calming and great service!

The two stars are for bad business. I've come to this Bedford spot a few times in the past few years. I'm a loyalist to the St. John's street shop. Today I got a pedicure and manicure today with Shelley. She was great. I didn't want polish, so I asked her to buff my nails, instead. She did a great job with that. When I got the bill, it turns out that buff cost me an additional $10. Shelley never mentioned it to me. It was also not in the menu. I told the manager, and she shrugged me off. I paid my bill and didn't tip. I would have happily tipped Shelley, but charging me for something that you didn't name and that isn't laid out in the menu is not the way.

Honestly, they don't disappoint. Clean, peaceful and consistent. I get gel mani's and regular pedis. I call a few hours before I show up to make sure I can get an appointment. No complaints. They wear face shields and masks for the pedi, and there is a glass up for the mani. They have you sign a waiver and they take your temp upon arrival. They help you to pick a color. Since the pandemic, it's not nearly as packed or crowded as usual. They only take a few clients at a time.

Newcomer to the neighborhood, Element has quickly established itself as one of the better nail salons in the area. The space with its wooden panels, plethora of candles and warm vibes is calming and earthy. The ladies here are detail oriented, nice and good at what they do. Facilities seem quite new and clean. Good selection of colors. Most recently had the spa pedi ($27) with the heel treatment add-on ($8)- totally worth it. The technician did a nice job accommodating my requests. She spent a good amount of time applying the heel treatment and scrubbing down my achy feet. She also gave my feet and legs a good (albeit short) scrub and massage. Did not feel rushed at all. Note: tips must be in cash (ATM inside for your convenience).

i'm giving this review 1 star because the service was good and the business was clean, however the actual product i received for the piece i paid is incredibly underwhelming. initially i was going to go with 2 but i really don't like the shape of my nails (i kept asking for more pointed/sharp) and i wanted the white line of my nails covered and they are not. look at my nails peeling within 10 days of getting my manicure. AND I PUT A CLEAR COAT OVER THEM MYSELF within a week of getting them done to make them stay as fresh as possible. they started peeling after 6 days. why. i'm really disappointed. after tip, i paid close to $100 for this manicure and am so sad that it's peeling so badly. i've had manicures that lasted weeks when i was rock climbing and was surprised that those nails only got scratched but never peeled. i seldom get manicures because i'm so active that i feel like it's pointless, but i've taken a step back from my normal activities and thought i'd treat myself. i am sitting at my desk on my computer doing work and this is what they look like!! not coming back.

First gel manicure post quarantine! So good to be back.

I moved to the area two years ago, and at the time was not big into routine manicure/pedicures. Then I discovered Element Beauty and was so satisfied with their services that even after moving out of the area a few months ago, I still make the trek from Astoria back into BedStuy to visit my favorite ladies. The business has always been very clean and efficiently run. Now with COVID, they have acrylic dividers between you and your nail artist, they scan your forehead for temperature, have sanitizer everywhere and you must use it upon entering. You will also sign a form prior to receiving any service. They used to serve fresh flavored water or tea, but longer do this, assuming due to COVID. It's also strongly recommended that you make an appointment since they are unable to service as many clients as before so the spots fill up the quickly. All employees wear masks, and some wear gloves and/or face shields. The women who work here are quiet, but some of the kindest ladies I've ever had the pleasure of meeting in this industry. They will offer service suggestions if asked. I know there are a handful of not so great reviews on here, but I've never had a single bad experience in the many times I've been to this establishment. I will say that the pricing does confuse me a bit. I wish their website had a service/price list available. I normally get a gel manicure and it's normally $40 or so. All in all, I obviously recommend this place to anyone in the area. I hope they stay in business because I would be very sad to see them go.

I really like this place. It's clean and you pay for what you get. I never walk away hating my nails. Maria comes in on Saturdays and she is so good. She's patient yet precise. The 4 stars comes from my most recent visit. I went on a Tuesday night with an hour left until closing and while the technician was starting to scrub my feet with the paddle, she cut me! At first I honestly thought that my feet were just dry and ashy (out here trying to start a fire) but then I get home and I have a pretty visible cut. She also cut a little too deep into the side of my toenails. The woman working on my fingernails was very attentive and precise. I still walked out with my nails looking amazing but I guess I could have done without the battle wound. The place is still my go to for nails.

Index, ring, pink were cuticles were cut :/ & misshapen from visit. I removed paint from index.

How much is it to do a regular (buff, shine, no nail color) mani and pedi?

$45. $30 basic pedicure, $15 basic manicure. I don't believe they charge less for no polish.

Do they offer dip/powder for nails?

No they do not. I wish they did!

    Cash tip only?

You don't have to. Card or cash is fine.

He had planned an evening of theatre, but I absolutely enjoy a chill evening+homemade brunch and wellness activities. He's been to AIRE prior, and I've had many massages locally in LA prior and always opt for the hot stone massage, this time couples massage which is what we did. It was cozy, relaxing, decompressing, and aromatic! Esp, on a snowy, 16 degrees outside wintery kinda Xmas holiday season. What a delight! We began our evening walking from the West Village, then upon entering Aire being greeted with warm tea my absolute fav drink besides an iced matcha. For the most part, we have always enjoyed our experience - it never felt super crowded and the pools were always nice and relaxing to enjoy, as well as the steam room located in the center of the pools. It's a beautiful space. Massages continue to be mixed however --- my husband always wants a harder massage, while I ask for a lighter touch. He claims they never go as hard as he wants. My last massage there was fantastic. They renovated the space last year, and have run some promos recently and on our last visit it was noticeably more crowded, more than I had ever experienced before. I can only guess it is due to these two factors. We had an hour long massage, which I was extra happy about because I would've been frustrated being in those packed pools for the full 90 mins (massage was good, see above). The steam room was packed, some pools filled with large groups of people, etc. And it was tough finding space at the vanity to get ready afterward, which I'd also never experienced before. Add to this that they were fixing one of the new plunge pools while we were there, and during our massage they twice dropped tools resulting in very loud sounds which echoed into massage rooms which were located nearby. I don't think it was a wise choice to have that work done while guests were there, considering the setting of tranquility they are trying to create. Considering all the above, we have decided to take a break from AIRE, at least the TriBeca location. I brought these issues to the attention of management there and they have apologized with a discount.

All the pool areas were crowded at 10am, so we couldn't even get in. The saunas were unusable because so many people were looking for a place to go that the doors kept opening every 15 seconds, preventing them from heating up properly. The quiet area with chairs was so crowded that people were using them like lounge chairs on a cruise ship, with one person holding a chair for six people's belongings. It just felt like a complete waste of money to pay for spa access. They are not trying to create a luxury spa experience, just 100% a cash grab. I booked a couples massage for my wife and me, and considering the $500+ price, I expected a luxury experience. We showed up 15 min early, as typically spas at this price point will offer tea, a relaxing environment, and go over where you'd like to focus your treatment before you begin. When we arrived, they told us to come back in 10 minutes, because we were too early. Then, when we arrived 5 minutes before our service, they still said they weren't ready for us to come back; it was a terrible start. I've had over a hundred massages over the past 10+ years, and at the 200$+ price point, this one was in the bottom 5 I've experienced. Just mediocre at best. To top it off, at the end, the masseuse hard-sold the oils/lotions they use, which is a huge pet peeve of mine.
