Lobby interior on my snowy, HBD :)

My husband gifted me this spa, massage package at Aire on my snowy HBD in the West Village. We home swapped our Venice Beach cottage, and flew off! He had planned an evening of theatre, but I absolutely enjoy a chill evening+homemade brunch and wellness activities. He's been to AIRE prior, and I've had many massages locally in LA prior and always opt for the hot stone massage, this time couples massage which is what we did. It was cozy, relaxing, decompressing, and aromatic! Esp, on a snowy, 16 degrees outside wintery kinda Xmas holiday season. What a delight! We began our evening walking from the West Village, then upon entering Aire being greeted with warm tea my absolute fav drink besides an iced matcha. We were given wristbands and headed to our keyless entry lockers to robe up and descend into the jacuzzi, sauna, and cold plunge pools. It Feels like entering a gorgeous gothic cave. Strung abt are hundreds of real candles+exposed brick walls. Something we don't have in earthquake prone LA. Truly a romantic, and relaxing ambiance. After the messages, we grabbed our green juices and headed up to shower and dry the hairs on our heads with all the best products and Dyson hair equipment. Not lost on me. Thanks for a wonderful HBD evening, into night. What a beautiful, relaxing, healthy experience. It's the best, truly! Merry Christmas guys.

The Floatarium is life. I had the Signature Wine Experience which includes (among other things) a wine bath, charcuterie board, wine, scalp massage and body massage services (budget $750 pp). It was unique, relaxing and soothing. Outside of Japan, this is one of the few places one can receive this particular treatment. The staff are generally cordial and the environment is cavernous and dimly lit giving it a tranquil vibe. Cell phones are not aloud and signs the read "silence" are posted throughout the space. They also limit how many patrons are present at once, so a more boutique - quality experience comes with the higher pricepoint. Overall 4/5

Wonderful experience. I wish they had baby oil, it would've elevated it to the next level.

Ask the Community - Aire Ancient Baths - Tribeca

What is the recommended tip for a 45 minute massage? It's part of the 2-hour experience, but how do you tip for just the massage?

You tip at the front desk after getting dressed again at the end of your session. They'll be happy to take it from you then, via credit card. And a $40-50 tip seems reasonable, if it's a good massage.

Is leaving gratuity normal when booking a appointment or should I do it afterwards?

    Always after.

How much is the cost? do I need to book before I come in here?

Booking in advanced is probably best not sure if walk in's are welcomed. And the prices vary on what service you get. Massage + baths. Or just massage or just bath. If you go in the website they detail everything out for you.

Is the wet sauna cube open again?

    The steam room? Yes!

Must women wear tops in the baths?

Yes you must! However during the massage you can remove your top and bottom if you like and they will warm up your wet bathing suit.

I booked an 8pm Bath with Massage. It says my time frame is 8pm-10pm, as it should but I also noticed that their closing time is 9pm. Does anyone know how this work ? Will our appointment be cut short?

They close at 11, last available time for appointment is 9

Do you share the pools with other people even with restrictions in place?

It depends on your negotiation with the Aire Management

If you buy only the thermal bath packet ,how much time are you allowed to stay there?

    90 minutes without massage

    Is photography allowed?

No phones allowed, no photography allowed

    Are phones allowed here?

Nope, no cellphones allowed! They have lockers you can leave them in!

I'm visiting from Atlanta soon. My Bf has zero interest. Is there a sports bar nearby or some other man friendly activity?

Try break bar, where you can break your glasses/bottles after consumption

    Is this space Clothing optional?

It is not. Everyone wears a swimsuit in the baths.

Hi, I heard each visit is limited to 2 hours and there's no way to extend? Besides booking a massage. Is this true?

My daughter booked our appointment but did not say she was limited to only 2 hours. However she booked the baths, body scrub and body massages for a total of 150 minutes! I hope this helps!

Could someone enlighten me on their experience here?

I really enjoyed my experience here. Its very calming and relaxing. There are several different pools ranging from hot, warm, salt, jacuzzi style, and 2 cold plunges. You move to the pools you want at your own pace. You have 2hrs in the pools and…

Are all the massages done on marble or is there an option for one on a massage table? Im worried the marble will be uncomfortable.

Not sure where you heard that from but I know for a fact all massage are done on a massage table that's nice padded.

Most of the reviews seem to be by women. Do dudes go here? I don't want to be the odd man out (literally.)

    Yes! I'd say 40-50% men!

Did they stop having the live flamenco band?

    No live band

I'm traveling in New York for the weekend, want to try this spa but do not have bathing suite with me on the trip, is it a must?

Yes, bathing suits are mandatory. The spa is co-ed.

Has anyone been able to take their phones with them? Does staff walk around and check on you? How do you know when your time is up?

I haven't seen anyone with a cell phone there. I think to protect others privacy and not to make anyone feel uncomfortable. There are instances where you MAY get a glimpse of someone fully naked after changing for a massage or getting ready for…

    Is there a steam room?

Yes - the steam room is glass enclosed in the center of the space. Gets nice and hot. The baths are the highlight of the experience tho'

It was amazing! I did 90 minutes and it was worth every penny. But the way, save a little money and pay cash. My neck and shoulder that brought me in are feeling so much better! My lower back that's always angry has calmed down too. The combo of stretching and massage is perfection. I'd like to try a traditional Thai massage next time, but this was a great entry point. I kind of never want to have a different style massage ever again. Using your body weight and elbows/knees/feet instead of just hands is genius. The place is a tiny bit hard to find, so look for the big American flag and go in the door under it. It's an upscale building and spa. They don't have the spa amenities you might think of when I say upscale, but they are so good at what they do they don't need frills. Trust me, they will take care of you!

She set me up with some calming tea and brought me to a private changing area with a locker for my belongings. Everyone in the vicinity checked in to make sure I was doing ok. I was worried that because I had arrived late, I would eat up some of my massage time. No siree! They moved my massage to start when I was ready to begin. I booked the 90 minute Nuansa classic massage. You know how some places start the clock before you've sat down and finish the massage early (aka you pay for an hour and it's only about 45 minutes)? Well! That's not the case here! I got all 90 minutes of my massage. The massage itself: not to be believed. Lukkana started by saying "time to relax". And boy did I. Let me tell you one thing about me - I have the most ticklish legs of anyone I've ever met. Usually, when I have my legs massaged, I kick a hole in the wall and the masseuse files for a lawsuit (this is an exaggeration). Well! Somehow, Lukkana was able to work the muscles in my leg without triggering my dainty ticklish reflexes. I was astonished! Then, you know how sometimes you ask for a firm touch and you get jelly hands? Or the other way around and you're walking out with bruises? WELL - Lukkana made me feel immensely relaxed WHILE ALSO really working the tissue. What a novelty. She finished up with a scalp massage, which is truly the way to my heart. 11 out of 10. Would recommend. Thank you so much for making my day.
