I visited Pure Qi Spa last weekend for one of their spa packages and had a great time. The spa is small but clean, comfortable, and private. I reserved the Serenity Bliss package (100 min, $125), which included a 30-minute massage, a 40-minute detox facial, and a 30-minute foot/reflexology massage. The service was friendly, and the experience was relaxing and very good - I left happy and relaxed. I thought it was a great value, and I thought the services very good. I've had facials, lymphatic massage, deep tissue massage, aromatherapy, and several other treatments, and each one was consistently great quality. I especially love their foot rubs. The spa is very clean and always smells pleasant, and the staff are professional and polite. I've brought my sister, niece, and several friends here, and everyone enjoyed their experience. Hubby purchased the Aroma Paradise Package for part of my Mother's Day Gift. The package comes with Anti-Stress Massage W. Aromatherapy - 60 mins, Detox facial Massage - 40 min, and Foot Treatment - 20min. My package was a total of 120 mins. I have to admit that I researched this place and I said to myself this looks like a hole in the wall, but it's so conveniently placed in the middle of the block nestled away in between surrounding stores. I promise you that you'll be transformed into a beautiful oasis when you enter. From the friendly smiles, the soothing music and the aroma. This spa is it! When I first walked in I was greeted by a pleasant receptionist, who explained my package to me. She asked if I wanted to upgrade to a deep tissue massage for an additional $15. I declined. She also asked how I wanted to pay. I thought to myself what an odd question because I didn't receive any services as of yet. I told her by cash. She said ok I'm going to add in either essential oil or hot stones to your package for free, which one do you want? I told her I'm not sure which is better. She said essential oil would make the skin feel good. I agreed and went with her suggestion. I was escorted to the back where I was instructed to change, leave my underwear on, lay down stomach first on the massage table and cover myself with the complementary towel. My masseuse walked in and I asked her name. She said her name is Nancy. I introduced myself to her as well. Nancy is definitely a veteran masseuse because her fingertips were slightly rough, but her hand was softer than butter. She applied the right amount of pressure never made me feel uncomfortable and tended to my knots like nobody's business. read more

Have been coming for 2 years and it's my favorite!! The owner is so sweet and attentive. The masseuses are always very thorough, too. This is a great spa in Brooklyn! I went here as part of a girls day out and this was the best part! When we arrived we were greeted and asked to take our shoes off and put on a pair of slippers which they provided to us. We were then quickly taken to our room. We chose to do the Day of Refresh package, which includes a deep tissue massage, facial and foot reflexology. The deep tissue massage was a 40 minute massage. The woman giving me my massage was fantastic and checked throughout the massage to see if I was comfortable. I typically don't go for a deep tissue massage because I'm rather sensitive, but this was one of the best massages I've ever had. After our massage, we stayed in the same room for our detox facial. A different woman came to do my facial, and she was just as sweet and attentive as my masseuse. The facial started with a bit of steam and a cleansing. Then a number of different gels and cream were used, all of which smelled absolutely AMAZING! After our facial we were sent to a different room for our foot reflexology. They gave us a town to put over our eyes to sit back and relax. The foot reflexology was perfect and we all left the spa feeling so refreshed and relaxed! read more

Gosh, I absolutely LOVE this place! I'm so thankful this is in such close proximity from my work and I get such a thorough, high quality, deep tissue massage on such short notice! I've finally gotten over being sick for literally the past month, and needed to be recharged, realigned, and just pay better attention to my aches and pains. I called Wednesday for a Friday afternoon appointment and scored! $80 for an HOUR massage! Unreal! The staff here is always super friendly, professional, and kind. They are very hospitable and ask your preference for a male or female massage therapist; I said it didn't matter. My male massage therapist was so funny - every time he cracked a bone back into place, he was like, "you ok?" and I just muttered a "I'm gooooddd" since I was becoming a puddle of goo. I very rarely feel I get my full hour's worth, and that's never the case here. This is not a fancy place; there's just the massage table in the tiny room, and these guys get right to work. No talking; no filler. Every movement is with effort and you'll get full reflexology to say bye bye to all those toxins! I have been coming to this spa yearly for the last few years and I can't say I have been disappointed. As someone who loves massages, I do hate paying $$$ for aesthetics for the spa vs my massage itself. I have gone to higher end places (ala Mandarin Hotel spa) and while they were also good, I didn't feel great knowing I paid $300+. This place is low frills but decent and clean enough for you to enter, get your massage and get out. No fancy schmancy stuff. You can't beat the price. Depending when you go there may be more action going on and the walls are paper thin so just beware. It's not super loud but it's a noise level that although low, you will still hear it. The masseuse doesn't chat my ears off either. The man at the front desk confirmed that the massage staff are all female. I asked because I didn't want to walk in to find a male staff working on me. My go to is the Signature Massage but I have gotten the combination with the body scrub and foot massage in the past. They take card but I feel they prefer tip in cash. read more

I was a rubber noodle after 60 minutes with Nancy, one of the massage therapists. Her style is a combination of massage, physical therapy and calisthenics. She intuitively spent more time on the spots I am having trouble with -- and I didn't even tell her about them. Probably the best message I've ever had in my life. It's really easy to get to with several Citibike stations nearby, and a short walk from a G line subway stop.
