I usually do the chair massage, which really gets out all of the knots. You can make an appointment, but I've walked in most of the time and it hasn't usually been a problem. I came in today with an appointment but walked out within 5 minutes. Not only was the bathroom filthy (read: pee on the floor - you can smell it!), but I hardly think they clean their massage beds properly. The hole where you place your face in REEKS of previous customers' sweat and who knows what else. There's also a male worker who keeps spitting/clearing his throat, and there's a weird smell in the air. I wouldn't come back here purely because it's just dirty. If the place is that dirty, I doubt these workers even wash their hands properly between clients then. Lulu is an absolute miracle, gentle and powerful. I asked for a deep tissue and Lulu went beyond and at point. Beware of this business The old woman with short colored blonde hair targets women and will attack you. She explicitly has sharp nails and during your massage will go out of her way to leave you with scratch marks and scars all over your body. This is a warning. Do not go to this business. She has been an experienced masseuse for years, and somehow I left with a deliberate bruise on my arm and scratches all over my legs that left very scarring marks. She will target you and hurt you. I have been to this place many times but since COVID, my massages have been terrible. I gave the place 3 chances since I had decent massages before, but each time was worse than the last. Expect to be brutally chafed with a rough towel for an indeterminate amount of time. The massage therapist spoke no English and ignored requests like 'softer', 'too hard' and ouch! When I asked for an oil massage she stopped as if listening, then rubbed the towel in harder! She had long finger nails that stabbed into my back and seemed to target my spine and tailbone specifically. I have attached a photo of my back after this "pleasant" massage. Between the rapid knuckles to my spine, hitting my head repeatedly, and the elbowing, I really can't say which 'technique' was the most memorable. read more

They will ask you how you like your massage (normal, light/etc), I can handle tough massages so I personally prefer for the massages to be hard and Spa Palace delivers every time. I have gone here several times before and the massages were fine (what you would expect for the price), but the last time was absolutely horrible because of both front desk and therapist. The massage itself was as if the whole thing was a very awkward warm up/they had never given a massage before. They kept the towel on me for probably 80% of the massage, and were really bad at keeping my private parts from being exposed when moving the towel around. I kept feeling a breeze up there when I shouldn't have. When they finally did take the towel off my back to use the oil, a bunch of it spilled on my coat so now I have to get that dry cleaned. I think it was fair to not want to tip my usual 20%, but when I was paying, the front desk wouldn't let me leave until I had tipped a full 20% even after I explained what happened. Instead of an apology or any inkling of being understanding, all he did was yell "20%!!" at me and say that my back was very tense and messed up as if I wasn't already aware of that. I absolutely love Spa palace! Vicki is a personal fav and based on reviews, it appears she is everyone else's as well. Their pricing is extremely competitive and their facilities are super clean and nicely designed. Definitely not your typical hole in the wall massage parlor. Also their 10 visit punch card is a nice customer touch. Contrary to some of the more critical reviewers, I actually go here for their high pressure massages. It's well known that eastern style massaging is more focused on reflexology, and targeted pressure point style therapy. I think its pretty unfair to leave 1 star reviews because you don't know your massage therapies or don't like that some girls don't speak better english. If you want someone to dump oil and rub it softly over your body then there are plenty of other 150/hour spas you can go to in Williamsburg. If you like deep tissue massages for your achy back and need relief, then this is the place. read more
