This is 5 stars for the service and the final product! Rachel was SO sweet and kind. My nails look amazing, the massage at the end was amazing! It was 85° our first hot day of the year and no AC. So it was a little toasty. No electric drill or tools, just a nail file and buffer tool, so it took a little longer than normal. But I was in no hurry, so it didn't bother me. Excellent spot, I will definitely go back!! $40 for SNS read more

My new favorite nail salon! They give amazing manicures and pedicures! Each time that I have gone, they always take their time and give the longest foot/leg/brief back massage and hand massage in comparison to any of the other salons in the area! The place is very clean and all of the staff are nice and very accommodating!! I've only gotten my eyebrows waxed here once, but they took their time and I have very sensitive skin and their products didn't cause any irritation! I highly recommend Yu Nails! read more

Efficient, convenient, nail salon on bustling Atlantic ave in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Your basic Asian nail spot. Usually can accommodate a walk in, does a nice job, and has other services like waxing as well. I got my first ever Brazilian here, and although I was nervous and opted for a few cocktails before arriving, was as comfortable as can be expected, I suppose, lol. I think the lady that does extensions name is Rachel (very Asian right?) not certain, but i think... she does a really good job!!! I would recommend! read more

Came here for a pedi for the first time and it was a pleasant experience. Pros: - The employee didn't initiate any chats throughout the pedi which was great bc you get your alone time - The pedi took around 15-20 min - The light back massage at the end felt refreshing - Price is decent - remember, if you're only getting a $10 mani for 15-20min how much will the employees make? (answer: close to nothing) Cons: - Few employees (4 when I went) so you'll have to plan some wait time if the place is busy read more

Unfortunately, like many nail salons, there's been high employee turnover and much inconsistency. I used to walk out of here every time thinking I got great quality service, but not so much anymore. I've gone in a few times recently to try and "give them one last chance", and they just aren't coming around. Yesterday I got a callous treatment on my feet and it's as if they completely ignored my toes and heels. And there aren't enough manicurists to cover the foot traffic which means large time gaps between services. Compared to other salons with the same prices, I'm constantly disappointed. Sorry to say that I will likely not be going back. read more

Straight up the worst manicure I've ever gotten. The woman forgot to do my cuticles on one side and I had to try to explain three times before she realized. Paint is totally streaky. Looks like a little kid did my nails. read more

The worst. Messy, painful work in an inefficiently run salon. Took 45 minutes for a basic manicure. She had to call another woman over to help clean up the mess she made on my nails but the second manicurist couldn't do much better. Now I'm walking out with red nails and red fingertips. Horrible. read more

Highly recommended! $10 for a manicure and $20 for a pedi. Very reasonably priced for the ares and they don't skimp on a thing. Many nail salons give a "massage" with their regular pedis but unless you pay the extra $10 for a leg massage, the massage is usually sub par. Not here! My hand, pedi and mini back massage were awesome and much welcomed. I fell asleep in the massage chair, which are heavenly and the next best thing to a person massaging your back. The techs are super thorough and precise. Well worth the price and experience. read more

Three Strikes and you are out. First time I went I had gels done. The woman who did my nails did not finish the process and insisted she did. Some other nail person took one look at my nails and redid them. They lasted a week. Monday I went in for a second chance at gels. Tuesday (The next day) my thumb polish peeled right off. Went in Wednesday to have it fixed and then Friday my index finger peeled off. Never again. Overpriced and clearly not very good. read more

$30 for a mani-pedi isn't the cheapest option in the area, but Yu Nails offers a very relaxing salon space that helps it stand out from other nail places in the area. I stopped by in the late afternoon on a Saturday and was seated right away for my pedicure. My tech was polite and took her time with my pedicure. The pedicure lasted around 15-20 minutes, and then I headed to the tables for my manicure, which took about the same amount of time. I was then set under the dryer until I felt my nails were dry enough to leave. I didn't feel rushed at all during my time at Yu Nails.I can see how the salon could become crowded during a rush, so I picked the right time to visit. It was a little weird that no one came to check up on me while I had my hands and feet under the dryers, but I saw myself out. They also have a great selection of colors, between trendy neons and subtle neutrals. Yu Nails is worth the trek up Atlantic if you want to treat yo self! read more

Really nice ladies, decent prices but terrible job. I paid for a gel pedicure and that doesn't include callus removal of the toe - which is customary with a regular pedicure let alone a gel pedicure at the price point of 42$. I regret getting them done. You should have seen the gel pedicure I got from another place where I'm originally from which sold me on the idea to keep getting them. I think the quality of the gel is suspect. The work was rushed. The massage chair wasn't even working. Like the work is so basic its unfashionable I even continued. I should have known when she was removing my previous paint job (which was gorgeous, lasted over a month) and it was painful. She couldn't even properly get all the cuticle off without stabbing me. Lesson learned. read more

The woman who did my mom's mani and pedi was great (a pushy salesperson), but good. The woman who did mine was awful. On top of not doing a great job and not giving a good foot rub on the spa pedicure with 15 minutes of foot massage, she sanded the skin off of my heel leaving what looks like an open raw blister. It's Thursday and I had this done Sunday, and it hurts and looks awful. I wish I could post a picture (actually I just did). She didn't even apologize, but the other woman, who was taking care of my mom, noticed it. read more

Yu Nails is a good basic manicure pedicure location on Atlantic. I haven't tried anything else, but I've been here twice for a mini pedi in the last 3 months. The staff is quick and they aren't chatty, which I like so I can just relax and go to my happy place. The polish color selection is good and I usually don't have any chipping until a week later. The services are also affordable ($30 for both mani pedi, $10 for a basic mani) so it doesn't kill your wallet if you're one of those ladies that constantly refreshes her manicure. I've also never had to wait - if you show up before 2:30 ish on a Saturday, the place is usually still quiet. They also take reservations (useful if you're bringing a group) and most of the techs speak English well. The massages are basic, but solid, and I always walk out feeling better than when I came in. For the location and price, I'm a fan. read more

I have been here twice and both experiences were great. I got manicures and pedicures both times. They also give you a massage with lotion on the massage chair for 10 minutes for an extra $10. The place is clean and affordable with friendly staff! read more

Pretty disappointed in this salon, came here for wedding nails, tips with gel and a pedicure and left with a really funky set of nails. I asked for really thin tips and a thin layer of gel, I left with globs and unpainted areas. My friend had a better experience but I was definitely not thrilled. Had I had more time, I completely would've gone elsewhere and had them redone. read more

I went at lunch time but I was the only one there. I got a mani-pedi for $31.50. The technician was thorough - a little too thorough as she ended up cutting me at the side of my fingernail. But to be honest I didn't notice until she, on her own, later saw it and applied antiseptic to it. Ouch. But I'm glad she did it. Accidents happen. And at least she took action to protect me. The polish job looks good. If it chips or anything I'll edit this review. The place is large and clean with a 60" TV playing on the wall in front of the pedi-chairs. The massage chairs work very well & the nail technician did do an extended arm/shoulder massage at the drying bar. They weren't overly friendly, but they weren't dismissive either. And I did not feel rushed. They even offer you water and try to keep the cup full if you so require. Bonus - Free Wifi Not a "luxury spa" experience, but I think I got my money's worth. I'd go back. ADDENDUM: 3-4 days later my nails began to chip. But my nails are soft and it wasn't really that noticeable until day 5. My only real complaint is that my heels feel rough and were snagging my sheets the very same night as my pedicure! My feet aren't normally in bad shape at all. But it 's winter & had been a long time since my last pedicure. So I asked her to pay special attention to my heels when I noticed that she had barely touched them. She took a couple of symbols swipes at them and moved on. For this reason alone I will continue to seek another local salon - & I'm removing a star. My feet should slide along my sheets like silk after a pedi! P.S. My finger continued to hurt for a few days. But it didn't get gangrene. So that's cool. read more

I went in yesterday evening, happy to find a nail salon open passed 7pm. The space was pretty clean and quite. I paid 31.50 for a basic mani & pedi, which obviously isn't the cheapest. Linda was my technician and was very thorough, almost too thorough as my cuticles are still sore and bleeding this morning. I can see the layers of paint, which is unfortunate because she wasn't rushing at all, but I'm not very happy with the results. The nail isn't covered completely, and for 31.50 that's pretty underwhelming. More than likely will not be returning. read more

Update: gel manicure barely lasted a week. ---- I've been looking for a great nail place in this neighborhood and finally found it! $20 pedicure was perfect, did a gel manicure and it came with a nice back massage at the end which was included in the price. Spent $52 plus tip and am very satisfied. Rachel was so patient and attentive. I've heard they're busy so I made an appointment and went at 10:45 on a Monday and no one was there. Best basic nail salon I have been to so far in Brooklyn. Prices are hard to beat (30$ mani-pedi) and service was great. Salon was clean and presentable. Definitely check it out! I really wanted to like this place. $31 for a mani/ped is a great deal. I will say: it is IMPECCABLY clean (I arrived early in the day and saw how thorough they were, everything is completely scrubbed down). The women were very kind as well. I didn't like that I had to pay halfway between the two. I enjoyed my pedicure and was feeling generous with my tip but then my manicure was a disaster. However, I clearly had an amateur paint my nails. The shaping isn't equal. There were bubbles all over my nails and after I had three redone (with two women arguing while holding my hand), they sat me at their dryers for 30 minutes for my nails to completely dry. I'm now home, 8 hours later, and my toes are completely ruined (from very little walking today) and my hands don't look any better. A waste of my money and time. read more

Decided to give this place a chance despite of the reviews... BAD DECISION. I could've done it a lot better myself. Not coming again.

Clean salon, lots of gel color polish to choose from, $31.50 for a gel mani (including gel color removal) friendly girls and the best neck massage I have ever gotten at a manicure place. Seriously, why is it that most times you get a gel mani they skimp out on the neck massage, frequently skipping it altogether? SO RUDE Anyways this place doesnt. read more

The worst place, I di my nails gel color after one day all fall , not just one all whit gel color , don't waste your money here .

I've been to this salon at least two dozen times; it's my go-to spot. It's a little more expensive than other places in the area ($11 for a mani here, vs others in the area which charge $8) but it's worth it. The salon women are friendly but leave you to your own devices. They don't chintz on the massages, and they also rub your neck and back (inclusive in the cost of your service) while your nails are drying, something the cheaper salons do not do. They have frequent customer cards - buy 9 mani/pedis, then the tenth mani/pedi is half off. They are quick and the polish is always sleek. read more

Definitely will not be returning. Went on a Tuesday afternoon at 4:30, waited for about an hour and finally got a gel manicure. It looked really nice and I was happy with it, despite the wait I knew I would return at a less busy time next time. The place is very clean and chic. Mani is $10 and Pedi is $20. Very affordable and nice collection of Essie and Opi Nail Polish. The Pros overshadow the Cons. However, the Cons are still there. I got my Mani done last Thursday and they're chipping. At first, my nail tech did NOT apply 3 coats of polish liked I asked her too. Had to ask her like 3 times to make sure she did and its already chipping [unhappy face insert here]. May go back, may not go back. Shrugs read more

Clean salon, courteous staff, reasonable pricing, and my feet feel like silk after my pedicure. Worth 5 stars to me! I would come back here.

This place is awesome for a mani/pedi! It's fairly cheap - (last time I got a pedi only, $25 with tip included). The woman that gave me a pedi was gentle on my feet and 3 weeks later, the polish hasn't chipped at all! While I was cooling my toes off, she also gave me a great massage that lasted way longer than the usual 1 min shoulder rub they usually give. Clean, roomy, with good Essie and OPI polish options. Highly recommended! read more

***THEY REUSE GLOVES FOR PEDICURES*** I just got a pedi and realized too late to save myself...but I watched the woman doing my feet take her used gloves off and put them in a drawer. I then watched a new customer come in, and another woman take gloves out of her drawer with the fingers inside out, and quickly spin them around a few times like she's done it 1,000 times before so the fingers popped back out before putting them on to begin a new pedicure. Who knows how many strangers' feet have touched those gloves before they touch yours. DISGUSTING. read more

New and very clean mani pedi spa. I also indulged and got a 10 minute neck shoulder massage that was very relaxing. It hasn't bee discovered yet so it's very quiet. I used to go to Ocean Nail for a hit or miss manicure, but since becoming pregnant, I am more wary of picking up an infection at not-always-clean places, so I've been looking around for another nail place. I'm still too cheap to go to places like Iris or Dashing Diva (they seem clean but actual results vary), so when I read the positive reviews for Yu Nails, I decided to give it a go. I had a good experience there this morning. My manicurist took her time, was gentle w/ my cuticles, shaped my nails and polished them well, and the place was clean and laid-back. Good Essie and Opi color selection; the ladies were nice. It's not a spa, but since they're relatively new, I felt better getting a pedicure from them. They also give a pretty decent back massage while drying, as opposed to places that literally just pound your back for 5 seconds before walking away. $31.50 for mani + pedi, so not the cheapest, but for a reasonably clean and pleasant experience, it's worth it! I know I'll be back! read more

The price was decent, but the service was really rushed. One of the girls cut off too much cuticle and made my nail bleed. The manicure was rushed and there were air bubbles in the polish. It wasn't a very good experience and I would not come here again. read more

Tried to get into the posh place in my hood (on short notice) but no dice, so I figured I'd gamble and make the 10 minute trip to Yu Nails and see if they could handle a walk-in. GREAT decision.
