My new favorite nail salon! They give amazing manicures and pedicures! Each time that I have gone, they always take their time and give the longest foot/leg/brief back massage and hand massage in comparison to any of the other salons in the area! The place is very clean and all of the staff are nice and very accommodating!! Unfortunately, like many nail salons, there's been high employee turnover and much inconsistency. I used to walk out of here every time thinking I got great quality service, but not so much anymore. I've gone in a few times recently to try and "give them one last chance", and they just aren't coming around. Yesterday I got a callous treatment on my feet and it's as if they completely ignored my toes and heels. And there aren't enough manicurists to cover the foot traffic which means large time gaps between services. Compared to other salons with the same prices, I'm constantly disappointed. Highly recommended! $10 for a manicure and $20 for a pedi. Very reasonably priced for the ares and they don't skimp on a thing. Many nail salons give a "massage" with their regular pedis but unless you pay the extra $10 for a leg massage, the massage is usually sub par. Not here! My hand, pedi and mini back massage were awesome and much welcomed. I fell asleep in the massage chair, which are heavenly and the next best thing to a person massaging your back. I paid for a gel pedicure and that doesn't include callus removal of the toe - which is customary with a regular pedicure let alone a gel pedicure at the price point of 42$. I regret getting them done. You should have seen the gel pedicure I got from another place where I'm originally from which sold me on the idea to keep getting them. I think the quality of the gel is suspect. The work was rushed. The massage chair wasn't even working. Like the work is so basic its unfashionable I even continued. I should have known when she was removing my previous paint job (which was gorgeous, lasted over a month) and it was painful. She couldn't even properly get all the cuticle off without stabbing me. $30 for a mani-pedi isn't the cheapest option in the area, but Yu Nails offers a very relaxing salon space that helps it stand out from other nail places in the area. I stopped by in the late afternoon on a Saturday and was seated right away for my pedicure. My tech was polite and took her time with my pedicure. The pedicure lasted around 15-20 minutes, and then I headed to the tables for my manicure, which took about the same amount of time. I was then set under the dryer until I felt my nails were dry enough to leave. I didn't feel rushed at all during my time at Yu Nails.I can see how the salon could become crowded during a rush, so I picked the right time to visit. It was a little weird that no one came to check up on me while I had my hands and feet under the dryers, but I saw myself out. Pretty disappointed in this salon, came here for wedding nails, tips with gel and a pedicure and left with a really funky set of nails. I asked for really thin tips and a thin layer of gel, I left with globs and unpainted areas. My friend had a better experience but I was definitely not thrilled. Yu Nails is a good basic manicure pedicure location on Atlantic. I haven't tried anything else, but I've been here twice for a mini pedi in the last 3 months. The staff is quick and they aren't chatty, which I like so I can just relax and go to my happy place. The polish color selection is good and I usually don't have any chipping until a week later. The services are also affordable ($30 for both mani pedi, $10 for a basic mani) so it doesn't kill your wallet if you're one of those ladies that constantly refreshes her manicure. I've also never had to wait - if you show up before 2:30 ish on a Saturday, the place is usually still quiet. They also take reservations (useful if you're bringing a group) and most of the techs speak English well. The massages are basic, but solid, and I always walk out feeling better than when I came in. Spent $52 plus tip and am very satisfied. Rachel was so patient and attentive. I've heard they're busy so I made an appointment and went at 10:45 on a Monday and no one was there. I went at lunch time but I was the only one there. I got a mani-pedi for $31.50. The technician was thorough - a little too thorough as she ended up cutting me at the side of my fingernail. But to be honest I didn't notice until she, on her own, later saw it and applied antiseptic to it. Ouch. But I'm glad she did it. Accidents happen. And at least she took action to protect me. The polish job looks good. If it chips or anything I'll edit this review. The place is large and clean with a 60" TV playing on the wall in front of the pedi-chairs. The massage chairs work very well & the nail technician did do an extended arm/shoulder massage at the drying bar. They weren't overly friendly, but they weren't dismissive either. And I did not feel rushed. They even offer you water and try to keep the cup full if you so require. Bonus - Free Wifi Not a "luxury spa" experience, but I think I got my money's worth. I'd go back. ADDENDUM: 3-4 days later my nails began to chip. But my nails are soft and it wasn't really that noticeable until day 5. My only real complaint is that my heels feel rough and were snagging my sheets the very same night as my pedicure! My feet aren't normally in bad shape at all. But it 's winter & had been a long time since my last pedicure. So I asked her to pay special attention to my heels when I noticed that she had barely touched them. She took a couple of symbols swipes at them and moved on. For this reason alone I will continue to seek another local salon - & I'm removing a star. I went in yesterday evening, happy to find a nail salon open passed 7pm. The space was pretty clean and quite. I paid 31.50 for a basic mani & pedi, which obviously isn't the cheapest. Linda was my technician and was very thorough, almost too thorough as my cuticles are still sore and bleeding this morning. I can see the layers of paint, which is unfortunate because she wasn't rushing at all, but I'm not very happy with the results. The nail isn't covered completely, and for 31.50 that's pretty underwhelming. More than likely will not be returning. read more

I really wanted to like this place. $31 for a mani/ped is a great deal. I will say: it is IMPECCABLY clean (I arrived early in the day and saw how thorough they were, everything is completely scrubbed down). The women were very kind as well. I didn't like that I had to pay halfway between the two. I enjoyed my pedicure and was feeling generous with my tip but then my manicure was a disaster. However, I clearly had an amateur paint my nails. The shaping isn't equal. There were bubbles all over my nails and after I had three redone (with two women arguing while holding my hand), they sat me at their dryers for 30 minutes for my nails to completely dry. I'm now home, 8 hours later, and my toes are completely ruined (from very little walking today) and my hands don't look any better. A waste of my money and time. read more

I've been to this salon at least two dozen times; it's my go-to spot. It's a little more expensive than other places in the area ($11 for a mani here, vs others in the area which charge $8) but it's worth it. The salon women are friendly but leave you to your own devices. They don't chintz on the massages, and they also rub your neck and back (inclusive in the cost of your service) while your nails are drying, something the cheaper salons do not do. They have frequent customer cards - buy 9 mani/pedis, then the tenth mani/pedi is half off. They are quick and the polish is always sleek. read more

***THEY REUSE GLOVES FOR PEDICURES*** I just got a pedi and realized too late to save myself...but I watched the woman doing my feet take her used gloves off and put them in a drawer. I then watched a new customer come in, and another woman take gloves out of her drawer with the fingers inside out, and quickly spin them around a few times like she's done it 1,000 times before so the fingers popped back out before putting them on to begin a new pedicure. This place is awesome for a mani/pedi! It's fairly cheap - (last time I got a pedi only, $25 with tip included). The woman that gave me a pedi was gentle on my feet and 3 weeks later, the polish hasn't chipped at all! While I was cooling my toes off, she also gave me a great massage that lasted way longer than the usual 1 min shoulder rub they usually give. Clean, roomy, with good Essie and OPI polish options. I used to go to Ocean Nail for a hit or miss manicure, but since becoming pregnant, I am more wary of picking up an infection at not-always-clean places, so I've been looking around for another nail place. I'm still too cheap to go to places like Iris or Dashing Diva (they seem clean but actual results vary), so when I read the positive reviews for Yu Nails, I decided to give it a go. I had a good experience there this morning. My manicurist took her time, was gentle w/ my cuticles, shaped my nails and polished them well, and the place was clean and laid-back. Good Essie and Opi color selection; the ladies were nice. It's not a spa, but since they're relatively new, I felt better getting a pedicure from them. They also give a pretty decent back massage while drying, as opposed to places that literally just pound your back for 5 seconds before walking away. $31.50 for mani + pedi, so not the cheapest, but for a reasonably clean and pleasant experience, it's worth it! It was my first time trying this nail salon. I came in this morning (it's a Friday) for a regular mani pedi. I always get standard nail polish, so that's exactly what I did. The regular mani pedi included a sugar scrub and short massage of the legs and hands, and I love the green tea lotion they use. It took about an hour, which is average, and they had a drying station that also used UV light for fast drying. I tend to nick my nails shortly after I get them done, leaving dents and marks because they weren't fully set yet, but this time, my nails dried nicely! The regular mani pedi price was $30 ($31.50 with tax), and absolutely worth it! The lady even massaged my shoulders for a few minutes when I sat down at the drying station - that was a nice, added bonus. I would definitely come here again when I need a mani pedi! read more

I'm not one to post reviews, but I just had to. This was the absolute worst manicure/pedicure I've ever had. The technician was paying so little attention, that at one point, she was filing the side of my finger. Lol She put a glob of exfoliant on me feet, tapped it once while looking around aimlessly and then rinsed it off. She cut my toe with the cuticle clipper, and on top of it was dismissive and rude. She didn't remove all of the old polish on my hands then didn't manage to cover the entire nail w new polish. And what she DID manage to paint, chipped the next day. Her idea of a massage while you dry is to lightly swish her hands across your back three times then walk away. Completely ridiculous. And it's not that cheap either. Definitely avoid. read more
