They let a woman with a HUGE dog come in for her appointment. The dog sat on a pedicure chair and was licking at it her entire appointment. This is a health code violation and disgusting. Why is this allowed? In addition a woman's child was playing TV on her phone at full volume. And my manicure chipped that same night on four different fingers. read more

ALEX WAS AMAZING! im visiting new york, looked up this place was nearby. service, set up and professionalism was all great. alex did a great job asking exactly what i wanted, even though it was just a simple one color. asking about shape, if i wanted cuticles cut, ect. which i feel most places dont, just do what they want. i got a $45 gel mani and while the top coats were drying i got the BEST shoulder massage ever. after top coat alex, gave me a hand massage which was amazing as well. my nails have never looked better. highly recommend. read more

I've been looking for a new nail salon since I came back from vacation. In my search for cleanliness and a new space, I found Gate Beauty Lounge. I had walked past their location several times since I'm always on Bedford. I called to schedule an appointment to have a manicure and remove my gel polish. I called when they opened at 10am on Sunday and was able to get an appointment for 1pm. When I arrived everyone who worked there made eye contact and spoke(always a good sign). The lady shared with me where to sit and began working. The vibe at the salon is interesting because I was the only Black women there and this is Bed-Stuy(changes continue to occur). Everyone had their mask on and they had a cool projector playing music videos. I will definitely come back because my lady was very kind and thorough and gave a quick back/ shoulder massage as my nails were drying. It was the little details about this space that brought me joy. The wooden bowls to soak your hands, lavender scrub during manicure, their free membership program which offers 5% of services and complimentary green tea . My total including the discount was $30. Remember to bring cash to tip as that is what they request and have an ATM on site. If you desire they have full chair massages available for additional purchase as well! read more

My mother and I visited this nail salon for the first time, and it was such a wonderful experience! The atmosphere was phenomenal and the pedicure chairs were so comfortable. For just getting basic pedicures, I was surprised by all of the services that came with: Body scrub massage, hot oil for our heels, hot stone massage, and a back and neck massage! The nail salon is also beautiful and clean, and our toes look great. The women working were also very sweet and helpful, especially our nail tecs Pema and Luz! They did an amazing job. Throughout my service the lady kept answering the phone, calling someone on speaker, serving walk in customers, taking appointments and doing my nails simultaneously. She was very distracted. Then said she will charge me extra $10 for powder removal and did not even remove it the proper way. The result looks sloppy. Not great manicure. read more

She filed my skin on my toe, who does that.. which wouldnt stop bleeding and I left with blood everywhere and instead of apologising, I was told its ok and rubbed oil on it several times Which doesnt help. read more

My daughter and I visited Gates Beauty Lounge when I visited Brooklyn last week. Upon entering we were greeted warmly and enthusiastically. We didn't have a reservation and we were quickly accommodated for our basic pedicures. We were offered tea or water which was nice. The place is fairly new. The basins were clean and sanitized. All the instruments were single use and clean. Generous amounts of lotion were applied to my winter dry legs. It was well staffed and we were treated to a quick shoulder massage while our toes were drying. Only cash is accepted for tips and they have an ATM on site. It was a very nice experience and I would go back if I was in town again. read more

So I tried to give this spot a chance being that it was in my neighborhood. The first time my experience was ok. I received a gel spa pedicure. It was done well and lasted. The second time I went I tried an different kind of spa pedicure and was quoted $95 for the service by the person rendering the service. I was again pleased with the result but was pleasantly surprised at the end of my service that is was $150 dollars!!!!! I was confused but paid. I was told by management that the employee was new and made an mistake. I was annoyed but pleased with the work. I came in today to do the same pedicure it was rushed I was cut and the employee left halfway through my service and gave me someone else.
