The high ratings are deceiving. This place is very dirty and had flies and fruit flies that swarmed around me throughout my manicure. I also picked up on weird vibe. I was the only customer there that wasn't white, and 2 separate employees asked me several times where I live and if I took the bus to get there. It was very bizarre. I specifically checked this place out because few spots offer UV gel. It was really overpriced (15 dollar additional charge for just gel polish on UV gel). The worst part is that their top coat isn't even shiny, so my nails don't even look good. I don't like to leave negative reviews but it seemed pretty necessary this time. My go-to neighborhood nail salon. This place ticks all the boxes. It's clean, reasonable prices, good service, and within walking distance from me. Every nail technician I've had does a good job, some more so than others but I always walk out happy and satisfied with my nails. They take extra steps to maintain a sanitized and hygienic environment. Nails last a couple weeks for me, but I'm very hard on my nails. Recently switched over from regular to gel and I'll probably be sticking with that from now on. One thing to note, this place gets very busy. It doesn't matter what day or time, they are consistently crowded with customers. Wonderful to see the business doing so well, but this means it is that much harder to do a walk-in. I'm not gentle with my nails and the dip powder that I get done here lasts forverrrr. So do my regular pedicures. Staff is friendly, service is quick, but there's a high level of detail and care. My nails are in the best condition they've been in in awhile. The only downside is that they don't really offer nail art/designs. The salon is always clean, tools are sanitized, masks are worn. I have been getting acrylics for years now and have NEVER had any issues with fungus until Cobble Nails & Spa. When I came for my initial set, I wanted a brown/pink nude ombré which I showed my nail tech. I instead got a basic pink/white ombré which was fine since it came out really nice and I was happy. After about a week my nails needed a refill (which was weird since most acrylics I get last at least 2 weeks before a refill)-- and the tip of my nail chipped which again, has never happened before. I came back for a refill and a fix on the broken nail. My tech was asking me if I wanted to redo the nail that eventually started turning green. I personally didn't notice any lifting or anything wrong with it, but I asked her if I should since she seemed really perplexed by the nail; she didn't mention anything and continued with my refill. I definitely wish she was more persistent on changing that nail had I known that it would grow FUNGUS on it. Unfortunately I think the language barrier prevented her from speaking much. Fungus for $75 and whatever the cost will be to visit a dermatologist. Thanks. read more

I love that you can make an appointment via phone/email with your nail technician. The staff is welcoming, the place is clean, and the service is on point. The issue I had with the salon in Hoboken was they would never replace the nail polish and it would chip after a few days. I love getting Eucalyptus or Lavender Spa Pedicure- It does run a bit pricier at $48 but I also feel like you get your money's worth: anti-inflammatory, cooling, and muscle relaxing properties of Eucalyptus. (including Callus removal and 10 Min Reflexology). Manicures start at $15. They offer other services so definitely check them out online. Sammy is my go to for everything :) read more

I've been here twice now and it's wonderful. Both times the gel has been applied expertly so it didn't peel up at the top and start to get caught on my hair, which is my biggest pet peeve! They are thorough, I love the waterless manicure system they use, and they are very friendly. They've squeezed me in as a walk in and also seen me on time with an appointment. The pedicurist did the bare minimum - hardly touched my cuticles, minimal shaping and somewhat rushed. It was average at best. Heard great things about this place but sadly did not measure up. I went in a few days before I was taking a trip. I emphasized this to them on how they needed to last for the next two weeks at least. After only a few days 3 nails broke the day before my trip. Since I work full time and live in Kips bay I couldn't go all the way back to Brooklyn. I had to pay even more money at a nearby salon (relax nails) in a rush mode to get the 3 nails that broke, fixed. By the end of my trip, almost all the nails broke (besides the ones that I got fixed at relax nails). It looked sooo trashy. I did call them before my trip and they offered to fix them for free or give me a small disc next time I came in. But I live 45 min away via train so it wasn't an option. The workers are kind and courteous. To get these done it took 1.5 hours and I was walking through my technician on how to keep the design squiley not straight and the nails cost me a little less than $100. read more

If you're looking for a QUICK mani or pedi that will do the job, this is the place. If you're looking for a really well done one, look elsewhere in the neighborhood. I've come here several times, mainly because I don't have time to sit for 2 hours for a SNS manicure with extensions. This last time I was maybe in there for 40 mins and it was done. This photo is after two days of wear - you can obviously tell it was pretty rushed and not perfect (my skin also got nicked by the drill a few times) but I still really like it! It won't last more than 2 weeks, sadly. The staff is super nice and they almost always take walk-ins. The rewards system is great too. Updating from my previous review - I gave them a second try and I have been back multiple times since. This is my go to spot in my neighborhood for pedicures. I can't speak much about their regular nail services, as I've only ever gotten pedicures here, but they are great. All the staff are super friendly, especially the owner/man who works the front desk. I pay a little extra for an extra massage and it never disappoints. My pedicures last forever and my feet always look great after I leave here. I love their cash back card - if you pay with card you get 5% back and cash is 10% back. I use it for a discount on my next visit which allows me to leave a little extra as a tip. However the last two times I made an appointment, I waited 30-45 minutes *after the scheduled appointment time*. Today, I called to make an appointment and before even saying much, the owner (male, 50s) literally yelled at me "We're too busy, bye!" and hung up the phone. I've always supported them and always make it a priority to support local businesses, as well as leave generous tips for the aestheticians. However this behavior is absolutely unacceptable.
