COVID-19 update: went for my first mani pedi 2 weeks after phase 3. I feel like I could cry. Splurged and got the green tea pedi and a mani w/ a 10 min hand massage ($80, with a $20 tip (be extra nice tipping plz!). I couldn't be any happier. Charlie and his team already do such a fantastic job prior to COVID in keeping a clean establishment. To see them go above and beyond for their nail salon is no surprise. I live in Manhattan and have been trying to find a good place in Brooklyn to get SNS nails with tips, without the 120$ price tag I find in Manhattan. I saw the good reviews and called and made an appointment. My nail technician, Judy, did an excellent job with shape, color, everything. I asked sort of last minute if they could do a sparkly top coat and she went and added a layer of the SNS #90 on top for me, after already completing my SNS #113 base and filing + smoothing them, so I was grateful she took the time to go back and add my last-minute request. It was 63$ and it's far better shape and color than the last nail salon I went to in Brooklyn and even Manhattan. I will be back! P.S. They do accept tips on cards, which is good as I'm not generally the type to carry cash. read more

She used the Dremmel tool to file off my cuticles which is not good practice even after I asked her not to file my nails like that. I have been at this place several times because I leave down the block. They are good in general but few things are absolutely inacceptable: 1/ have a negative bias towards black people. They are often rude or pretend to not understand when complaints are voiced. They also make comments like: "rich people" when asked for the Italian pedicure 2/ they offer reflexology for a considerable extra money but then provide you with a basic massage 3/they refused to dry my daughter's nail and hence her nail polish was ruined after 3 minutes I do write a lot of reviews but I genuinely think they need to respect and treat their black customers better read more

I read another review about how a woman had the staff here ask her to pay mid way through even though they didn't ask anyone else to pay mid way through. I thought maybe it was a genuine mistake on their part and went anyway to give them benefit of the doubt. I go in for a mani pedi, the woman finished my pedi and asks for me to pay. I ask why she's having me pay mid way through when it's really clear they didn't ask anyone else too. She claims that they have everyone do it, and that's obviously not true and I can see that with my own eyes. She continues doing my nails and tells me that I need to tip her at the end. I'm aware of that as I've had my nails done plenty of times and she goes "have you never had your nails done before?". Excuse me?? Am I in the twilight zone?? I came to this salon because of the great reviews on yelp and it was a nice distance between work and home. On my first visit mid August, I got a full powder set and it was great. However, one thing I thought was interesting, and noticed from the time I walked in, is that everyone was paying after their service. I haven't been in a nail salon in years but I am use to paying before they paint my nails. By the time my tips were on and it was time for my nails to be painted, I had watched MANY men and women pay for their service after. I did not hear any technician or managerial staff ask any of their customers to pay before they were walking out the door. I also thought it was a bit overkill how these workers were so nice and thankful to their customers, profusely saying thank you, have a nice day, etc. really taking good care of their customers. Of course, sadly, I get the question, "can you pay now" and I politely said no, I want to pay when everyone else in here has and will be paying. I was extremely taken a back I truly couldn't believe it. Now I am a young (looks much younger than I am) black female amongst the majority ... we know what that looks like. I was very disappointed but I thought maybe I look young..... the finished the service that I was satisfied with I payed and tipped ... I came back two weeks later for a fill in AND bought a friend to come get a too expensive massage. Guess what, it happened again. On my way in, someone was paying after their service and was out the door after payment. There were 6 other customers in the salon at the same time having their nails painted. Before they start to paint, I get the question. She pulls out the receipt book and says "pay now" I let them know that it was highly inappropriate how they deliberately categorized me (in which category I'm not sure of but it was the one where they felt they should ask for payment before the service is done). I truly felt uncomfortable and hurt. I work for my money and pay for my services and I understand the importance leaving tip. I didn't cause any trouble or present myself in a way that I should be treated differently from anyone else. In fact, the last time I was there, I remember the nail technician noticing my car keys and was shocked that I owed a car. I mean, I am a grown ass woman smh. After I publicly made my statement and explained I will not be paying before my service like everyone else they began to suddenly switch their behavior immediately and I started gettin the overkill treatment which truly made it worse. Many customers came up to me and told me I did the right thing and that they have never been asked to pay first. I still payed and tipped (accordingly). Ultimately, beyond anger, I felt ashamed and very sad. I will not be coming back here. read more

This was my first visit &I got a pedicure and powder dip manicure. The pedicure was amazing, the tech was super attentive to detail, the calls remover was also great. She was thorough yet gentle and really made me feel comfortable. The reason my score is a 4 rather than a 5 is because I was very unhappy with my nails. I had previously come in with coffin shaped nails which were filed by another tech elsewhere (photo of bare baila attached below). The tech seemed like a novice when it came to powder dip manicures. She filed my nails and for lack of a better word she ruined the shape. Most of my nails are uneven and are more squared then coffin shaped. Because of the way they were filed it's going to be difficult to rectify the shape on all of my nails while maintaining their length. The coats were also applied pretty messily and rather thick/clumpy. I will say that after she tried to fix the shape a bit but it was just making it worse. The 4 stars are for the pedicure really. I guess it's a lesson for me to stick to my regular nail tech for manicures but I was looking for something near my work and I was pretty pressed for time since I am leaving for vacation. I will say that I would return for a pedicure but definitely not for a manicure, especially with how meticulous I am with my nails. (Nails look worse in person) read more

Fabulous nail salon!! Every time I have come here they have always done an excellent job! I tend to come here for regular manicures and pedicures but I decided to get UV gel set yesterday and they did such an amazing job! This was my first time at this place and my first time getting dip. I had done research on the dip process and was excited to try it as a safer option to gel. I love the final result and the customer service was great. I also had a pedicure and a foot and back massage and it was all great. Everyone is pleasant and friendly and professional. It's a no frills place but they do good work. The only concern I had is that they seem to use the same dip powder container for everyone and when I asked if she was going to pour the dip powder into another container so that I wouldn't put my fingers into a container that numerous others had also used, she just smiled and said yes but continued dipping my fingers into the jar. I just love this place. I used to live in Carroll Gardens and would come by every few weeks. I moved away during the pandemic, but after trying about a dozen new places across Downtown Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights, and Lower Manhattan, I've accepted that it's just worth making the trek back down to Cobble Nails. The owner is friendly, the services are top notch, and all the nail technicians are careful and thorough. They're good at shaping (this is an issue I have a lot at other salons), generous with the nail polish, and there's always paraffin and a hand massage included with your gel manicure. The few times I've needed a redo or a repair, the nail tech performed the services with just as much care as when I am paying for the service. Plus, the pricing for a gel manicure and spa pedicure really cannot be beat. I cannot recommend Cobble Nails enough. read more

I found this place on Yelp and went because it was so well rated, and I am writing in now as a warning to those who may be thinking of doing the same thing. I went in last Friday night after work for a pedicure. The woman who did my nails (seemed like the owner) was nice and welcoming when I arrived. After the pedicure, I think my toes would argue otherwise. She used the rounded corner of a nail file to push back my cuticles (what?!), and she was extremely aggressive to the point where I was wincing. The worst part is that when she was cutting around the nail, she cut the cuticle on my left big toe to the point it was bleeding and she needed to apply a cotton ball with some kind of green ointment on it. I didn't think it was too big of a deal when I first walked out, but it's Monday morning now and cuticles on both big toes are still tender to the touch due to the damage inflicted. The one of the left that was cut looks okay, but hurts in a way that indicates it may be getting infected even though I've been super careful with it over the weekend. Awesome. All of this to say that you're thinking about visiting, I would seriously reconsider for your own safety. read more

This is my first Yelp review along with my first (and last) visit to Cobble Nails & Spa. ***DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY*** I went in and got a pedicure, which was fine, then sat down to get a new set of acrylics done with a woman who, I assume, was the owner. She cut me five different times with the nail filer to the point where I was bleeding, in pain, and extremely on edge the entire time. I've gone for manicures for many years and I have never been cut up like that before. At the end I calmly stated that there was no way I was paying full price. They even left the blood and dirt underneath my nails (see photos). After I expressed my discontent, the owner proceeded to yell at me and talk about how long this took to her to do. I wound up paying the full $80 price and leaving in worse shape than when I came in. If this review wasn't enough to deter you from your visit to this "establishment" just realize there were only 3 nail technicians on site on a Sunday afternoon. The owner kept turning down people and giving them unrealistic wait times. I found this extremely unprofessional and I would give this place zero stars if I could. read more

I got a gel mani ($28 w/ tax ~$29) since the gel polish change with removal was $25 so I figured for three more bucks, why not. Thorough job, not a huge selection of gel colors but really great for a simple gel mani that won't break the bank or compromise quality(thorough with cuticle cutting, polish application is precise and as close to covering the whole nail as possible, .
