I love Omni. I love supporting local business especially those ran by POCs. I come here every month and have been a loyal client for over 2 years now. They ladies take their time to get you together and are very detail oriented. You can book your appointment ahead of time or walk in. I usually do a walk in but i would suggest just giving them a call to make sure they have availability. They usually do and if not try to accommodate you. I come here for my Brazilian, underarms and lower leg sugar wax. The price points are moderate, from what i learned European wax center charges a bit more for their Brazilians. You can also get packages which can save you some dollars!-. The facility is well maintained, very clean and very calming. They always use fresh wax and clean the rooms after each guest. Sugar Brazilian with Rachana, updating my review because literally a day or two later the hair that broke off during wax started growing back meaning that it was completely waxed off even when she went in to retouch. For $54.00 you would expect better. Full Brazilian but didn't wax full butt crack. And if you're looking for sugar wax meaning (sugaring) they do not do that here it's done with wax strips, which I feel it's less effective. I got an eyebrow threading and tint, and complimentary eyebrow trimming and a soothing brow gel treatment were included. Rachana also tinted my lashes, and I am so happy with the results! Rachana and her team are so gentle, friendly and professional. The experience is so relaxing, honestly I could just curl up on the chair and fall asleep. I have by eyebrows threaded in the salon, but they offer natural sugar waxing too which I think is what most customers go for. People travel from out of Park Slope because they are so great. The salon is spotless and calming. It's right in the hub of 5th Ave, Park Slope so you can get your nails and hair done too and do some shopping and of course stop for lunch or dinner. I bought a card which is 3 threadings for $30 or $35 (I forget) plus tax. That's amazing. Don't forget to tip big! Highly recommend. This salon adheres to all the covid safety practices. My temperature was taken when I walked in and I was asked to sanitize my hands. I had my eyebrows threaded and tinted; tinted for the first time and it was a great idea to try it. I left happy and satisfied with my eyebrows. 5 stars for the Brazilian sugar wax, 2 stars for the eyelash tint...rounded up because why not. I have sensitive skin and the sugar wax was significantly less painful than regular waxing, less irritating, too. The woman who did it (I think she's the manager) was skillful and nice. This is definitely going to be my regular spot! I came back again for eyelash tinting, but I wouldn't recommend that service. I've gotten it done elsewhere and been smitten with the results, but when I got it done here, I can hardly see the difference. I'm sure I'm not the only one who cringes at the thought of going to a new threading salon. Like let's be real, you can't trust everybody! That's actually a good life lesson too -- good job, me! ::pats myself on the back:: One thing to note is they're not cheap. Now you might think to yourself, "well why the hell would I want to spend more on brows than anywhere else?" And to that I'd tell you, "because you get more than just your brows done, silly... you're essentially paying for a mini spa treatment! They sanitize your hands before anything else (because of the inevitable 'hold please') so they're already ahead of the game in that sense. Also after perfecting your brows, they apply this moisturizer type thing which I can only describe as magical -- it feels and smells great! And after all that, you end up leaving (as a very wise woman named Beyoncé once said...) flawless!" And then, of course, you'd respond by telling me to shut up and send you the address. Trust me, I'm psychic. Anyway, it's only a couple dollars more than regular places that just thread your brows without the additional umph. And if you purchase a package of three sessions, you save money (and it ends up equaling about $10 a session, which is approximately the same price as other places). Oh, and ask for Sumi. I went in to get my eyebrows threaded. I haven't gotten my brows threaded in 3 months! but have been doing it regularly for the past 2 years prior to my hiatus. I moved out of Manhattan into Brooklyn and I was too afraid to try a new place. I have some eyebrow hair that is thin and light (but more than a few) beneath the brow bone and I've been dabbing concealer and tweezing the unruly ones to get me by but I had a wedding to attend that I wanted a more clean look. I specifically instructed the girl not to shape my brows (i like the shape it just the strays that I wanted removed) and said merely to clean underneath. It was more painful than usual but I thought not going for three months is was probably the reason. When she finished my brows we're uneven. I felt like crying, I complained as I paid my $15 (even more furious and shocked as I used to pay $10 in Manhattan with tip!!) that they we're uneven and I said only to clean it and I don't understand how cleaning turned to shaping and to make it worst my eyebrows didn't match. I admit I threw the money on the counter and went home to cry to my boyfriend. He calmed me down and walked me back to the place to get a refund. It took some leg pulling to get it. The manager came and said that the hair in my eyebrows were really that shaped and light. They made me sit on the chair to inspect my brows to tell me that's how it naturally was. I was increasingly getting more frustrated. How did my eyebrows suddenly become uneven naturally?? I wanted to show her my punch card from my old spot (I miss it now) to prove (although I don't know why I had to) that I knew how my brows we're shaped and two years for threading could prove that. Long story short, I got the money back after they called the owner. This was last month and I honestly would not have written a review but I pass by this place everyday and they haven't been so kind. read more

Omni Beauty Salon does not offer the type of sugaring that I was looking for. The sugaring I'm familiar with is a hair-removal process by which a room-temperature honey-like ball is pressed to the hair and pulled in the direction of the natural hair growth to remove the hair. It results in less breakage and fewer ingrown hairs so it's much more effective and longer lasting. There is also no possibility for burning or ripping the skin. What Omni Beauty Salon offers is for you to pay $5 extra to get waxed with a sugar based waxed. There is still the smearing with a popsicle stick, the strip pressed on and the ripping off in the opposite direction of the follicle. The only benefit I found was that it was easier to clean off. I don't really care about the pain so I can't comment on whether it's less painful, all I know is it is less effective so you have to do it more often. I do not recommend waxing at all, so I do not recommend Omni for hair removal. It was unsettling to go in for a brazilian and not get the service that I was expecting. Hopefully I will find a New York salon that offers the type of sugaring that I've received in the past. read more

An update on the hair services as well as eyebrows. Returned to Omni and had Rachana again. She is so detail-oriented - she places your hands exactly when it's time to hold the skin taut around the eyebrow. She even told me she remembered my eyebrows! I went ahead and bought the 3-pack for $30. Since I was there and my roots needed touching up, I decided to take a flyer on getting my roots done. The hairdresser did a very nice job - roots + a wash and blowout was only $60, and it's apparently $50 if you do it Tuesday-Friday. I think this is a real bargain considering a lot of places charge $40 just for the blowout. I noticed that they also use high-quality hair products. Will return, obviously. read more

Omni is very clean, efficient, and inexpensive. I pretty much only get treatments from Rachana so I can't speak about the other staff, but Rachana is excellent!! I feel so lucky to have found her!!! I generally get my brows and bikini line done with her, and she does both extremely well. I also love their online booking system. And yes they do sugaring here, though not the traditional honey ball sugaring technique (I can't find this anywhere in Brooklyn!!), but still better than the typical waxing. read more

Would come back for threading only. Would not return for waxing. There were multiple times my skin caught or ripped and was told this is because my hair grows in different directions, which does not make sense to me. I have been getting waxed for many years and have never had any issues. I now have patches of skin along my legs that are ripped off. I went to another waxing salon nearby to do the rest of my waxing and they were fast with no issues. The reason for two stars instead of one is because staff here is very nice and were willing to rewax or thread the areas I noticed they missed after my waxing. read more

First visit she convinced me to grow my brows out a bit and she was completely right, even though it was painful at the time. Rachana is magical and has the most lovely relaxing energy. I adore her and the salon. She will convince you to grow those brows out to a thickness that matches your facial structure. She is amazing at finding the shape that flatters your face the best!!! Just went and got my eyebrows and upper lip thread. She seemed to know what she was doing at first but was very slow and painful. Walked out completely disappointed. My husband took one look at me and said you look like you have 2 different eyebrows. I had been growing my eyebrows for weeks so I would go and get them shaped nicely. I was so upset when I found out Rachana left Shobha! But then another client of hers messaged me and told me that she found her! THANK GOD! Apparently, Rachana left Shobha to open her own place located in Brooklyn, which is even better since it's closer to me. It was great to have Rachana threading my eyebrows again. I absolutely missed her. Before she left, my eyebrows were almost perfect, thanks to her. But now they're back to how they were before, uneven. The place is quite new so it's very clean. Make sure that you call ahead of time to see if Rachana will be in that day or on the day you plan to go in since I'm not sure which days she's off. Last month, I made an appointment with her. On the day of the appointment, Rachana had personally contact me to let me know that she was not going to be in that day because she wasn't feeling well and had to take a sick day. Now that is wonderful customer service. I will definitely miss those rose water freshening cloths at Shobha. But having Rachana back is worth the trade. Especially when her price for eyebrow threading is cheaper. She also offers the 3-Pack just like Shobha. It's around 50% cheaper than Shobha so it comes out to $30-32 including tax. Can't wait for Rachana to work her magic on my eyebrows again! read more

Just moved here and wanted to get my eyebrows threaded. Great deal! 3 sessions for like $31! You can't beat that. I like to keep my eyebrows thick and full but with some shape and she did it perfectly. It was a little more painful than expected, but I had been long over due, and she worked slowly and meticulously, so I tended to focus on the pain lol. But they came out great so I didn't mind the slow work. The area was clean and comfortable and after they soothed it with Rose water (love) and gave me a short face massage! Awesome for the price. I didn't break out at all, which is a huge plus for me, as I normally do and speaks to the level of cleanliness and their routine. Will be going back. One star for sugaring. I've had dozens of good waxes and sugars in my life - and many more mediocre. This is one of the only truly bad experiences I've ever had. I searched out this spot after my last random waxing pick left me prone to ingrowns, as mediocre waxers often do. I left afraid this aftermath will be worse! I could tell as soon as she started (didn't get her name) that she wasn't an expert -- not as much quick ripping as a good job typically includes. But I didn't worry much until the sugar got hot - so hot I had to tell her. Then she said she'd finished my bikini. I looked down and was still scattered in 1/2"+ hairs! What about these? I asked. Oh, sugaring is just no good, she said. I'd need to use wax to get them. Um... I've been sugared at least a dozen times before and that's simply not the case. And what, she was going to send me on my hairy way like that unless I asked otherwise?! Ended up accepting her redoing most of me with wax. (Will that irritate me terribly? Time will tell.) Until I insisted, she was still going to charge me the sugaring price. I usually leave a waxing feeling, honestly, refreshed. (Yes it's weird but true!) This time I left nervous and a little in pain, and rushed off to buy cortisone cream and tweeze all the stil-missed hairs. read more

She started with powder and trim, followed by waxing, followed buy more trim, then clean up with the wet towels and then THREADING! Which I thought was super cool since I had never seen it done before. Last was the cooling gel. I really enjoyed the sugaring as opposed to wax since it comes off with just water. Got a Brazilian done here - lets just say I hadn't received one in a LONG time and so I was dreading it. The lady (not Roshana, another young lady) I had was so kind and patient about it, and she went at the right pace - not too fast or too slow. The sugar waxing was really gentle but effective - it didn't feel like my whole body was being ripped off. Also got my eyebrows threaded and she clearly knows what she is doing - very analytical about my face structure and keeping my brows thick but neat.
