In this Covid-19 world, ES Nail Spa is doing everything in the book to keep customers safe. They have plastic protective coverings separating each nail station and pedicure chairs. This made me feel extra comfortable. My only gripe is that I wish they would have a limit on the amount of customers in the salon. The salon was almost completely full at 10 AM. This is the second time I've been scammed at this establishment. My nails were $70 I gave the manager $100, but she kept $20. She claimed I only gave her $80.... I showed her the amount I took out of my bank account from her ATM and she still claimed that I only gave her $80..... I always ask for the plastic bag/ wrap to place place in the tub when doing pedicures and I request for all items used on me to be sprayed each with either alcohol or bleach. I'm a little surprised that this place has such bad reviews. I came here on a Saturday afternoon and I didn't have to wait. The manicurist took her time with my nails and I was very pleased. Was so happy I walked in here. Very clean!!! I got a mani (full set) and pedi. With the pedicure I asked for plastic for the tub and it was provided with no problem. She executed my nails exactly how I wanted and the massage chair was very comfortable. Next I was brought to Shelly to do my nails. She did an exquisite job. She even helped me get ideas of designs by directing me to their Instagram page @esnailspa . They're skilled at what they do. I like other nail salons they don't rush to get to other customers. Love this place! Been going for a few months now and it's great quality, great service. I've gotten dip powder manicures that wear really well, they last a long time. Gel manicures never last long for me, had one done here that lasted a full week. Also got a great gel pedicure about a month ago that is still going strong! As I was getting my nails done, I realized I was already writing a one-star review in my head. They got the second star PURELY because of how courteous one of the technicians were. So let's go through this: The second I opened the door, I was figuratively uppercutted and People's Elbowed by the overbearing chemical fumes from the acetone and whatever other chemicals are required to make your nails all pretty. It's a cramped space with zero ventilation, so unless you're already brain-dead, expect to lose a handy number of brain cells. My girlfriend and I were seated right away, with her opting for one of their mani+pedi combos while I was just there because of my maltreated cuticles. My tech spoke about 7.378 words of English, which is fine because that just meant I didn't have to make conversation. And besides, that's really the industry standard if you aren't going to a high-priced salon in Manhattan. To make my mani experience story short, two bloody cuticles, peeling skin on 9 of my 10 fingers, nails trimmed to the point of pain, and a really really nice clearcoat. Expect to have to endure very loud conversations, either between the techs or from the clientele, all of whom were on their cellphones or yelling at their techs. Girlfriend loved the massage portion of her pedicure, but not much else. Her tech kept having to rub her toes in acetone because he kept getting polish on her skin, and lo-and-behold, the same thing kept happening with her hands. Her tech was the reason I gave this salon the extra star; he kept grabbing stools or chairs for me to sit on when I was finished and just felt like keeping her company. So thank you, kind sir for your courtesy! PS: they put a packet of some weird substance into the footbath and in friggin seconds, all of the water turned into this mysterious looking green sludge gel thing, and I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to touch it, but I didn't want to risk being admonished by the tech. Looked really cool though. $8 for a mani experience I never want to have again. read more

Stumbled in while in the neighborhood on a slow day for the nail salon. They were able to take me right away for a mani pedi. My nails came out nicely. The place is clean and modern. Not sanitary!! From a healthcare providers perspective this establishment is not safe. I typically check to see if the nail kit (which can cause bleeding) is brand new and opended in front of me, autoclaved . While the employees are super kind and helpful, their manicures only last about two-three days! This is includes their gel manicures which they are always trying to push on you. I have tried this place numerous times because it is right across the street from my job but every time I am very disappointed. This has been my nail salon for a couple months now and I must say I do not plan on leaving them any time soon. The staff to me are friendly and they seem like a loving team but family also. It turned out so pretty I loved them! The nail tech took his time and showed me options on how to do my ombré nails. First impression is everything for me and I was very satisfied with my time there. My only issue was, I went to the same guy who did my nails from the very first time and expected him to continue the good work but honestly it seemed as though his work was decreasing. I wasn't the happiest with my nails twice so I went to try someone else, a girl tech. She was so nice! She made me get out of my comfort zone with feeling forced either and told me the times of colors I should try for me complexion. There's never really a wait in there unless you probably want a specific person but they are quick to serve you. They seem professional to me. They don't speak in their language and make you feel any way, they don't make you feel rushed and best of all, they have super pretty colors and nice clean atmosphere. Upon entering, it's clear that this place is a one woman operation. The woman in question instructs my grandma to sit in a chair & sets her up with two small bowls of nail polish remover for her to soak her acrylic nails off. My grandma soaks her nails whilst the woman attends to her other customers. She soon leaves an emory board on the table by my grandma for her to file the nails off herself. As we sit here on a time constraint, the woman works on a gel manicure. My grandma intermittently soaks her nails and files them off. Literally doing everything herself less a few strokes of the nail file from the woman, my grandma wonders if she's really going to be charged for a service she's giving herself. We're still in the midst of the soak, so who knows if this self service nail spa ends up being a freebie. read more

My friend came in on a Friday evening to get her nails done for her 27th birthday and her trip to London. She was so excited to get tips again and prepare for her trip. She showed her nail tech the picture and design that she wanted. It took over 30 minutes for the tech to mix together her color - which should have been an out of the box color - then proceeded to apply her tips + shape + color. My friend continuously reminded the tech to give her a short tip, with a coffin shape. The tech rushed through her job, leaving several nails bumpy, cuticles not pushed back, and did not properly file each mail evenly. This entire job cost $70. When my friend came home she realized how unhappy she was and decided to return to ES NAIL and was told to have a seat. After waiting for 20 minutes another tech approached her and began to tell her if she was unhappy why didn't she tell the tech. They argued back and forth for 10 minutes, the tech defended her colleague, my friend felt helpless. Finally, the new tech started to shape and the nails, then said "here you go, here's the shape you want. Happy?" My friend was appalled. She didn't buff, polish or shine the nails after filing down the sides. The nails were STILL thick and looked very fake - not the natural look she wanted. The tech from yesterday told her to come back to her because the new tech was fed up and didn't want to handle the situation anymore. The old tech started to argue with my friend but still proceeded to work on the nails and charged my friend $20 (TWENTY DOLLARS) to REDO a job that SHE didn't do well. So not only did my friend WASTE her time on Friday evening, she wasted her time today AND had to pay AGAIN. ES NAILS does NOT put them customer first and their nail techs are rude with severe attitudes. I suggest you find another nail salon that works towards customer appreciation. read more
