Don't know why I keep giving this cvs a chance. The worst customer service. Went in to buy a oximeter I knew what I wanted just needed help finding it Matthew came to the isle but was of no help he said my dept is candy do I care no he tells me when you find it just ring the buzzer I ask there's no one to help me find it no he reply's then he goes to the checkout area and is laughing with the cashier as I exit. That's cvs in Pinole I use to be a shift supervisor with them at the old location there was no way we would treat a customer that way. Even with the discount I get I'd rather go somewhere else and be treated with some respect. You never know what the person is going thru that you are being rude to. read more

Come to this pharmacy for many years, but today a pharmacy technician was extremely rude and had a very bad attitude when I picked up my medication. Poor customer service and all these negative reviews are real, will transfer my prescription to somewhere else. read more

I was waiting for pain medication which had been back ordered for a few days. I was getting my updates from their automated phone system. I checked a couple of times and it told me that the medication would be ready by a certain time. I called again at the time it said it would be ready. It still said the medication was ready. I was in a lot of pain but still, I drove over to the pharmacy to pick it up. When I told them why I was there, they told me they didn't have the medications for me. They told me they were still out. I was livid. I asked why their so-called sophisticated phone system told me it was ready. The manager gave me her standard answer I'm sorry and that sometimes the automated system was not accurate. This made me even more livid. Those automated recordings are controlled by human input. This tells me they were negligent in updating the status. This is happening to other customers as well. The bottom line is, they are not doing their job. The manager told me to not come back because I was upset. Real professional. I would advise using a different pharmacy or make sure you speak to them live. I started using CVS because I was getting really bad service from Walgreen. Maybe there is a pharmacy out there that doesn't lie to you. read more

Since the store first opened the customer see ice has gone downhill. The self check out registers are continually not working properly. The lines at checkout are getting longer. (usually due to one checker who is very slow) If you request more checkers nothing is done. Time to find a new pharmacy. read more

This the first time that I've ever felt the need to give my very personal opinion about a store. But, the experience that I have consistently had at the CVS Drugstore on Tara Hills Drive, begs me to warn those looking for good customer service and a staff dedicated to the needs of their clients. I went into CVS on my lunch break to pick up a prescription that I'd phoned in the day before. I was thrilled when I saw that there was no line; a very rare occurrence. There was a clerk on the phone with a client ,so I waited...and waited...and waited. Meanwhile, I could hear two other individuals in the back laughing and talking. Finally, one of them comes out, looks at me and goes right back to her conversation. Really?! The clerk on the phone finally gets off and tells me that she'll be with me in a moment, but that she has to find a prescription. Clearly, she's still helping the person on the phone. It wasn't until a person coming from a lunch break came behind the counter and hurried to help me. I'd been standing there almost 10 minutes! Worst customer service EVER! But, the store leadership is the same. The store manager, DiMartini or something like that, doesn't even greet you in the store or ask you if you're finding everything all right; even when it's obvious that you're looking for something. He always has a hard look on his face too. Even though its location is convenient for me, I'm willing to switch my prescription to another pharmacy to get some good customer service. Don't expect that here! Save yourself the aggravation and find a pharmacy and store with a staff that is lead by a policy of courteous attention, commitment to and respect for the customer and their time. read more

Helped them out at CVS and I stopped because there was complications with the manager, Chris. Now whenever I come in and shop I feel uncomfortable because the shift supervisors are always like staring at me. I went last night to buy something and Dana, one of the shift supervisors at the moment kept staring at me straight up. I didn't really think it was anything so I waved back at her thinking that maybe she recognized me. When we left out the door my BF was telling me how she kept staring at all of us as if we stole something or did something wrong. I looked back through the glass window and I still see her staring. Like wtf really what you starting at?! Only person I feel comfortable having to check me out is Janice. She's so nice and welcoming! Been coming to cvs before I started working there and she has always been friendly. Everyone else is ehhh. Thought they were cool when I was working with them, but I guess when you stop helping them they turn on you. One time I came in to buy Theraflu and I had to dodge the manger cause I feel like he was going to say something to me. Huge shout out to the guy with the great hair in the pharmacy. I went in to get an emergency Rx filled right about the time they were set to close. Not only did they fill the meds in 5 minutes, but due to me not having insurance that worked with them, he found a coupon that saved me a lot of money on the medication. He truly went above and beyond for me. Working in a pharmacy is challenging, especially now, but this guy never let that stress show. Thanks to him, I am feeling much better, I didn't have to shell out so much money, and I was able to sleep through the night without pain. read more

To start, I came in here for the grocery aspect and not the pharmacy. I had a late night craving for Diet Coke and figured that CVS would have some for cheap. I was right. I got a 12 pack of cans for $3 whereas the Safeway next door charged almost 2x as much. I also needed some gummy multivitamins and got a month supply for about $10. The size of the store was large and was clean and well organized. However, the shelves were not full stocked. There were two cashier lanes open, which seemed to be enough on a Friday night. However, the employees didn't look very professional and were just chatting away to one another about going out and partying. This would be fine if there were no customers present. read more

The pharmacy has the worst service ever! I called in to make sure my daughters prescription was ready and was told yes. I get here and its not and I have to wait 30 mins. Then the guy keeps asking for my daughters medi-cal card even after I repeatedly tell him she is not on medi-cal, we have insurance. I'm offended and wish I never had to come back! Oh and keep in mind I wasn't the only one told that their prescription was ready and it wasn't, there were three of us. Go to Walgreen's. read more

Asian lady on the register is always super rude when people ask her questions about products. Since I DoorDash I come here almost everyday and she's always rude to me even when I pay she snatches the stuff from me to scan it. When she's not there I always go to the self checkout station and the employees don't mind. But she always yells at me and says I can't use the self checkout and cancels the order. When I'm going to checkout. She's very unprofessional and needs to learn better customer service. Next time I go I'll make sure to get her name. This has got to be the most disorganized pharmacy I've ever visited, filled with incompetent staff, especially since the new pharmacy manager took over. I'd like to mention that I worked as a pharmacy technician for 18 years and know the ins and outs of the business, so I suppose, shame on me for trying to give them multiple chances. Three separate times they've been clueless as to how to fill one of my son's new prescriptions. The first time it took them over a week. I also learned at that time that the pharmacy manager has no communication system in place between staff when there is an issue that potentially needs to be dealt with over the course of more than one day such as an insurance issue. So each time I called or actually went in physically, I had to relay the issue all over again, and each time, the staff gave me a "deer in the headlights" look. There should be some sort of note system in place so that when someone else has to look into an ongoing issue they don't have to start all over from the beginning. This most recent time for my son's monthly prescription, they claimed the prescription wasn't sent over, but when I went in to the doctor's office, the said they sent it in twice since I told them that the pharmacy said they didn't get it the first time. This was a week ago, and according to the pharmacy staff, despite my requests, nothing was done to call the doctor's office. For myself, I had a prescription called in that must be mixed prior to being dispensed to a customer, but when I got home and opened up the box, I saw that it remained unmixed. So, the bottom line I suppose if you have simple prescriptions that just need to be counted and transferred from a stock bottle to their little vials, then there should be no problems, but if you need anything beyond that such as compounds, or prescriptions that need special authorizations, go somewhere else, because the pharmacy manager is unsuccessful in offering acceptable customer service, and makes the customer do all of the work with her out of sight out of mind philosophy. If you are the pharmacy manager and you are reading this, "Get some sort of communication system in place for issues that can be checked daily. It should not take over a week to get a prescription for Isotretinoin filled, and based on the initials on my own rx, you forgot to mix it." read more

I would have given 0 starts if Yelp allowed. This pharmacy is the absolute worst and has the worst customer service ever. I have only gotten one prescription here a couple of years ago and then am attempting to get one here now. Both temporary as I usually order online/mail order from CVS. Their online pharmacy is not much better. Just for these two times I had a busy signal for about 30 minutes. Then go through the phone tree and get put immediately on hold. I am on hold for about 49 minutes and then I am disconnected. Have to start all over again and go through the same thing again with the same busy signal, holds again. Three times! When you do get through the people while not rude don't seem to have any idea what they are doing at all. Worst service ever. It it was not contracted my insurance carrier I would NOT ever use CVS at all. I have complained to my insurance carrier and will do so again. read more

I went to cvs because it's on my block. I look back and this guy has no mask on . I inform the clerk and he doesn't tell him to leave. This is unacceptable. The manager is an ass and most of the clerks are not that good either. You tell them what the item is selling for they check and The Dumbass manager rechecks after they have checked the price. As far as I am concerned, you have Walgreen's and you have CVS. These two(2) spots are the creme de la creme of pharmacy stores. You can get so much here. Not as large as Wal-Mart, K-Mart or Target. However for what they are...CVS's are really kick ass. This particular CVS is cool; nothing too special, standout or super about THIS particular CVS over others. However if you are new to the scene, on vacation or unsure where to go to take care of your pharmaceutical (AND SNACKING) needs...CVS is a solid move. read more

This pharmacy just moved to Canyon Dr in Pinole. I brought 2 prescriptions today for my acute bronchitis. These prescriptions are really needed as soon as possible. I asked my friend to pick up and they only gave her one. The other one which I needed really badly was not filled. I called and they said it wont be available until the next day. I'm very sick and they didnt even advise that it wont be available until the next day. read more

Was killing time while my car was being washed next door. Thought I'd browse CVS. First I hear some announcement about "walk the floor" and next thing I know every aisle I go down there she is- this employee following me around like I was going to steal something. As I paid for all of my items I told the cashier how rude it was that I was being followed, that I felt my business was not appreciated and I was leaving because of this......she did say a word. This use to be my favorite cvs store to coupon at until 2 ladies, deny my rights to do separate transaction. I am not breaking any laws and it is not against any cvs policies. Two ladies wouldn't let me do multiple transactions because they said I was holding up the line. That's unheard of! I do multiple transactions, earn cash back, so I can use that to pay for the next transaction, therefore I pay less out of pocket. That's how it works. There's no policy against doing multiple transactions.. So if you come across this problem, call and make a complaint to corporate (because their manager is also, no help). I had to look at my receipt to get the name of the cashier. Wish I got the name of the other woman too. Shitty customer service and rude cashiers. There's only 2 older women who are kind. Everyone else seems to be annoyed with doing their job. read more

So, my previous experience with the pharmacy were horrible and I hadnt planned on returning to this place for a refill except I totally forgot to have it refilled on time (especially since you can't refill your scripts when they are closed like most places) . Anyway, I realized i had no choice but to ask them to refill it and quick. So I phoned and the pharmacy tech went out of he way to get a hold of the prescriber and made it happen. My son gave me a ride yesterday to cvs pharmacy Pinole on canyon drive. We arrived at approximately 5:45 and a looked at a couple of items and walked to the back of the store and I got in the pharmacy line. No one else was in line and there were 3 people in the back ignoring me. I spoke up to the young Asian man sitting behind the pharm counter and I told him that I needed to pick up a prescription. He told me that was not his department and he spoke with the middle aged Asian pharmacist. She walked over to me and said that the pharmacy is closed. I asked her what time do you close she said 6pm and quickly walked away. I asked my son the time he said 6:02pm. Mind you that I had been waiting in line and ignored for about 8 minutes. I reminded the pharmacist that I was in line before closing. Nope she would not help me. I complained to the manager who was also the same young man who I spoke to earlier.he replied she is a pharmacist and I have no clout over her.i reminded him that just because she is a pharmacist does not give her the right to treat customers badly. We quickly left the store and as leaving we noticed a police car sitting back in the lot I guess in case we got unruly. Unbelievable.... read more

TERRIBLE CVS MANAGER OR WHOEVER MAKES DECISIONS NEEDS TO BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY, I drove a hour to get here as this was the only cvs nearby. I made sure to check posted hours online and even called to check hours open of this CVS location located @ 1617 CANYON DRIVE, PINOLE CA 94564 by calling the direct number. The store's automated operator also informed me that there hours are from 8AM-10PM Monday - SUNDAY . Which is EVERYDAY! the operator even stated the exact CVS address/location when calling on the phone . This was so inconvenient and the biggest most disappointing waste of time in my life . When approaching the entrance there were many people pulling into the parking lot just to find out they also wasted there time and got bamboozled . Mind you I arrived at 8:40PM, and as I took a peek through the sliding door entrance the employees were inside. There was four individuals lolly gagging around and when I tried to get there attention to ask why there were closed so early when the hours are posted otherwise they just shouted "WE ARE CLOSED GO HOME !" from the middle of the store . Which was extremely disrespectful as they couldn't even give me the slightest respect to come closer to speak to me, and after they shouted they immediately turned there backs and pretended I was not there even when I still was trying to communicate. As I walked away and turned to look back at them they were smiling and laughing about . WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD . Awesome staff! Patrick solved a touchy issue that would have left my 6 month old son 24 hours without medication 90 seconds before the pharmacy closed. EPIC patient care in Pinole during covid stress. GRACIAS AMIGO!!!! It was a transfer of the prescription to a Walgreens due to insurance coverage issues so it was really a pure act of kindness. He stayed 5 minutes after close in case an issue arose and they had to call back. Saved me from some unexpected stress and let me focus on getting home for baby bedtime with his meds in hand. read more

Every time I go into CVS Pharmacy I get the best service. They are always so nice. The only inconvenience is when customers do all their shopping and then go to the pharmacy to pay along with prescription. It isn't bad if they have just a couple items, but when they have a basket full and people are waiting, they should be limited to no more than 3 items additional. read more

Medications are almost never ready when promised. The friendly staff is incompetent, while the competent staff is plain rude. A few days ago, I dropped off 2 prescriptions at 3:00 pm and told them I would pick them up in the morning. When I arrived the next morning, Teresa told me that only one medication was ready. I said there should be two medications, what happened to the other one? Teresa rolled her eyes and rudely said, well, only one is ready! I said I need the other medication too. She replied, Would you like to wait while we fill it? I asked how long it would be, and she sharply replied That depends on if you want to wait. I asked again how long it would take, and Teresa replied in a huff, Well, IF you want to WAIT, it will be about 15 minutes. Instead of apologizing for the medication not being ready when promised, she apparently deemed that a bad attitude was appropriate instead. This is the worst interaction I've had to date, but bad interactions like this aren't uncommon at CVS Pinole. read more

I called in twice with my insurance info, then had my other I love you you are fabulous pharmacy call (as they could not fill this particular scrip)with all the data needed to put it through. I show up and I am charged $149 because I don't have insurance. Then had to wait 45 minutes while they tried to figure it out so I could pay $10 vs $149. The place was swamped with people who all had "challenges" trying to get their medications.... and CVS was blaming all the insurance carriers. Huh? Best part cutesy wutesy pharmacist skipped off in the middle of this debacle because it was time for her to go to lunch. Serious? Even though I was purchasing some regular store items, yet the when I asked the manager about where to locate the items I was shopping for, and he kindly walked me to each item and rang me up. But the service is horrible, the lines move so slowly you regularly age before you cash out. Several times they had problems refilling prescriptions of mine without letting me know so I could fix the problem. It's taken them days to get fill prescriptions. Go elsewhere. read more
